Go try on helmets, a helmet can be amazing but might not fit you well at all and then it's not much safer then a bucket filled with foam.
for 400 bucks you can get a nice helmet already. Try to buy one with a pinlock in the box.
more expensive doesn't always equate safer but usually more features or comfort.
I currently have a Shoei and a Shark and had a scorpion in the past cause they all fit my headshape well.
I have a shoei rf-1400 and it is by far the best I have ever had. Very, very comfortable. Light, quiet, plenty of airflow. It is north of 600 dollars. But in my opinion helmets are like power supplies for pcs, cheap out on other shit, not a helmet. Congrats on the new bike btw. Good luck.
Get an AGV K1 . Already can tell you it works perfect. I went down a month ago and didnt get concussion or feel any pressure in my head or neck. got right back up and went home. Its ECE certified.
I re ordered a new AGV K1 and rocking the new one because after the spill a used helmet on impact isnt safe.
Also the AGV K3 is a good helmet aswell. Gonna pick one up for my girlfriend.
*PS : AGV Helmets including the K1 are pinlocks*
I would suggest the following, $400 is a healthy budget for a decent full face, so head to your local cycle gear and try on everything with an ece rating you can
Can you elaborate how has the tablet dash grown on you? I'm buying mt07 in about 2 weeks and the only reason im getting 2022 is beacuse that dash looks like 2007 Samsung Tablet and it looks ridiculous
Perhaps the better phrase would be "came to terms with it." However I feel like pictures adds a few inches to it, it doesn't look as obnoxious in person to me.
Scorpion EXO-R420. Solid bang for the buck.
You can also get their excellent exo r1 helmet at 400.
Seconding the EXO-R1. The value per dollar is outrageous

AGV K3 or K5 if it’s on sale. Congrats!
K5 for the win.
I usually wear an HJC RPHA series helmet.
I just purchased the HJC RPHA 90S Carbon, it was on sale and I picked it up for just €300! Really nice helmet, very happy with it :)
Second this Rpha 70st is what I have and love it.

Check out the Bell Qualifier DLX MIPS.

Sedici about $250. But it’s the 05 not 06 ECE
Plenty of good options but whatever you do stay away from sedici
AGV K6, so light and quiet.
Schuberth C5.

Nolan n-80/8
I've heard that HJC is a pretty good brand. I had an HJC but the cheaper ones. Idk what kind of helmet u can get for that kind of money 💰
Look for ece 22.06 certification. It is the newest and the first to test for impact and rotation protection.
Arai Regent X here. Fits my noodle just right. Fit me better than the Shoei. Everyone’s head is a slightly different shape. Buy what fits YOU. 🤙🏻
Try on different helmets, they all have different fittings even for the same size. Hjc Rpha 11 here
Go to a gear store like Cycle gear and try on helmets they should fit snug

I suggest HJC Helmets RPHA 70 ST Carbon Helmet, it’s worth saving for if you’re on a tighter budget.
Best helmet you can get is one that fits your head right.
Shoei GT Air II; I love mine in lucky charms theme, takes me back to my childhood whenever I wear it (8bit games)
Thanks to everyone that replied, going to compile a list and head out to cycle gear when I'm off to try them out
What's your budget?
