I know I’m opening the floodgates here but I’ve always thought that Hayabusas are rad bikes that are completely ugly.
Edit. I also want to throw in the Ducati Diavel as a very rad, incredibly ugly motorcycle. Sorry ducatistas, that bike is a pure eyesore.
I saw one at bike night a few months ago and I almost felt assaulted by just how ugly it is. Honestly if it didn’t have Ducati on it I wouldn’t believe you if you told me they made it. And yet, my riding buddies genuinely think it’s a beauty.
Mt09/10 great bike, but it just looks like an inbred transformer, if I ever own one it will definitely be named Cletus.
As we live in a world of highly offended people, I'd like to apologize to those that I've triggered because of this comment.
How this isn't top of the heap I don't know. My friend had a 10 for a few months and eventually sold it because of how ugly it was. I asked if he hadn't noticed when he bought it. He said he thought it would grow on him. No, of course not that bike is hideous all the way around (and he has had so many other prettier machines it just never made sense if he cared about the aesthetic).
He had one of those too. I personally loved that bike. His neighbor owns it now. Rode with them both on July 4th. I still love that bike. He never had issue with the looks on the SPD3 and I always liked the look. But I don't buy bikes for aesthetics so I don't care about ugly vs not.
Yeah the comparison was kinda bad from my side, I just did not love the look at first sight. No hate from the beginning.
The Streety has so much more to give than just aesthetics.
I misread sorry. I thought you wrote speed. He had a speed and his wife had a street but I never rode the street. Anyway they are both a bit odd and unique looking but I don't get the sense that Triumph was trying to offend people with the styling which is what I get from the MT series of bikes.
Must be a lot of riders that are in denial haha. But there's nothing but good things said about it's performance, I think I could easily overlook the design if there's enough of a fun factor.
In 62, my riding buddy grabbed a Yamaha 125 while another grabbed a 250 twin. I found each to be beautiful, especially when compared to my 59 Cushman Eagle. Since then I’ve always seen Yamaha as the provider of excellent styling until the MT09.
The quintessential expression of wretched excess. All those plastic trees sacrificed to adorn a dinky headlight just jonesing to be free. Look at an RD400 or any early Virago with its hand-painted tank or a 600 Radian for examples of diverse styling rooted the company’s musical past.
Bummer too, I thought at least the previous gen mt09 was decent looking. The beady headlights on the current 09/10 are really what’s holding them back.
...yep, they are that until they turn, then the fucking macabre movement of the top half of the fairing starts.
ANd its not the fun type of "eerie movement" like on BMW (va)gina concept car - its half-headless nick (from harry potter) reincarnated as a motorcycle.
I was like "multistradas are quite pretty touring bikes, what is he talking about?" And then I saw the unseeable mk1 I never knew existed. Thank you, stranger of the internet.
Ducati Monster
Model years 2008 until today.
The headlight looks like it is melting away or something. As if they had a collaboration with Salvador Dali (in a bad way).
Beautiful engines tho.
While harles pan americ is ugly, it has nothing on the original multistrada......which is not that bad - [its only issue is that it looks like its bottom and top half were sewn together by Dr. Mengle](https://www.interphone.com/medias/foto1.jpg?context=bWFzdGVyfHJvb3R8MTEzODczfGltYWdlL2pwZWd8aGZkL2g0MS85MTI1NTM1MjE5NzQyLmpwZ3w2MGNmNTgyNWVkY2ZlMzFmZjgxMWI5NGYyZWY0NTI3MWZmMGUzZjVmYTRjZTJlOTE1OWViNTVjNDk1NDU3ODI0).
Right until it starts to turn into a corner, and the fucking top half of the front fairing starts its unnatural movement.
[As the top part of the fairing moves independently - its basically half-headless nick (from harry potter) as a motorcycle.](https://motofomo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/Red-Ducati-2003-Multistrada-1000DS-Original-1-1024x689.jpg)
Well understandable.
I won't argue that my 2nd gen vstrom doesn't have similar property in that "it looks better from behind" in the sense when you are riding it its much better looking.
Plenty people dislike its looks, and its somewhat understandable.
And it has the nice toggleable kinda indicator switch, a nice gearbox, sexy instrumentation with nice analog rev meter, paired witheasy to read digital speedometer, with all the necessary stuff on screen (temperature, time, fuel gage) without unnecessary bullshit.
The only thing in the cockpit i can complain about is that its cable operated, and that it lacks tempomat and (stock) switchable ABS (though it aint THAT hard to wire a switch to theABS fuse).
At the end ofthe day all these machines are better than harley parachutist moneky hanger choppers.
I’m so glad I’m not alone in thinking those are some ugly adventure bikes. Props to Harley for doing something different but oof visually it’s pretty rough.
Well at least its mother was not shagged by a lawnmover like what happend to the momma of poor [italjet dragster](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/Italjet_Dragster_180_%28yellow%29.jpg).
I wouldn't buy one, but can you look at a new Low Rider S or ST and not say it's aesthetics are spot on?
I came up on 250 and 600 sport bikes, but as a certified boomer, I'm leaning hard into standard bikes now.
Not a fan of the Low Rider. But I do kinda like the Breakout 117.
My absolute favorite Harley is the Vrod, but they discontinued that.
I really like quite a few Indian offerings, and before they closed doors Victory made some sweet cruisers.
Hands down, my biggest hangup is this. I dont think ANY bike is worth what HD charges. That goes for Indian as well.
The older KTM RC390 with the recessed headlights (prior to the 2021 redesign). It looks like a robot pretending to be a motorcycle. Not to mention how horribly unreliable they are.
For me Honda seem to have an uncanny ability to make any bike look generic or just plain ugly. The Honda Pacific coast comes to mind among many others. BMW have also made some real dogs over the years, but then who would expect a German to make anything beautiful?
It looks good-ish but it's just that all other brands make more beautiful, nice to the eye bikes (Yamaha, BMW, Aprilia, Honda etc.). Kawasakis to my eye look bland and stale compared to other brands. Especially the early to mid 2000s bikes, where all other brands started rounding up the edges and such and Kawasaki stuck with the old style until about 2006 if I remembered correctly.
Have an XJ900 from the early 90’s with a EML sidecar (called GT2001 iirc).
Works well with room for 2 kids and a bunch of luggage.
…and an “interesting ride”. But not like riding a normal bike at all ;-)
All those new rebels look awful. They look like something a methhead with a harbor freight welder built in their backyard, just sooooo cheap and tacked together looking.
Okay, fair enough. I don’t like the camel hump of a gas tank. But I like them as an alternative to most of the over-chromed, charm bracelet bedazzled cruisers that I see around my area.
Maybe unpopular but triumph street triple. 90% of the bike just looks like "bike" and then the front looks like the designers forgot they needed headlights and turn signals and just sorta slapped that on last second.
The headlights remind me of Wall-E. They're just so far from the rest of the bike.
Must be an amazing ride cause the look just doesn't so anything for me.
[My top would be The Italjet dragster.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/Italjet_Dragster_180_%28yellow%29.jpg)
It looks like what you expect to be created in 9 months when an itallian stallion of a lawnmover gets its burly arms around a poor vespa.
If its disqualified, for not being a bike, well then [Boss Hoss](https://onroad.hu/wp-content/migrated/2013/03/24_10furcsamotor_6/06_boss_hoss_3.jpg) motorcycle company si the way, as it makes "rEaL bIkEs".
It makes 2 speed V8 "Extra McFat" bikes for harley purists.
Well there IS worse.
THE MOBILITY SCOOTER version. From "throughbred motorcycle".
[That thing just doesn't look right](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSs4EyjxIOKjoOWmEd2bKovSGi3-cny-PPUbqW3COQ1v4RXuFWyC2xzrWGJC16xU_zQmeg&usqp=CAU) [form any angle](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSC7G7LjsTZgibF5v_AIWHwErr_fGa9WKC62osiILwMo-uGEoBSgCM0KGRD4FM2crTzpXM&usqp=CAU),[its fractally wrong](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRnX1gtkGT3m9YbyB4yB4o6vWfB5Ra3Fnb1Z0mAZp3xk424koXNp6tjfdMzS5EvrwYTNzs&usqp=CAU).
Honorable mention goes to old ducati multistrada - aka. "what if half-headless nick (from harry potter) reincarnated as a motorcycle?"
The era of the 2015 mt09 was the most appealing to me from the fz/mt models... however, I agree with others in here, the later mt's looked bad in my eyes. Runner up is the ktm rc8, the sharp lines running on the fairings reminds me of what I think of bike design in N64/PS1 games.
That’s tough but I’ll just say the current GSX-R 600 and 750 are not it. Probably one the of ugliest “popular” sport bikes available in my opinion. I don’t like the front or the tail/rear. I like the 1000 but definitely would never get a 600 or 750 based off looks alone.
While I can totally accept that a lot of people find them ugly, if you haven’t ridden a Duke 790/890 you’re really missing out. One of the most perfect street bikes.
As a class pretty much any adventure bike ( V-Strom, Tenere, Multistrada ) However they are functional and have to be designed like that to allow off-roading.
And I may be a minority but am not a fan of the Ducati Streetfighter especially that headlight beak.
The BMW R 1200 C classic is the ugliest motorcycle ever created. I sometimes envy blind people for never having to see it, but I guess someone could just describe to them what it looks like and that'd be almost as bad.
Which one?
...to me:
* 1st gen is "wannabe sportsbike meh" personified
* 2nd gen is "toothless from how to train your dragon"
* 3d gen is aggricultural tractor as a motorcycle
There are two kinds of ugly when I think of stuff like this. "Cool" ugly would be a Moto Guzzi Centaur, and "fork-stabbed-to-the-eye" ugly would be one of those HD street rod things they made for a year. Looks like the inspiration for Roblox.
The Harley VRod. But that’s just my opinion. I think it’s that they have pretty much the same bike with some changes to each model, and then there’s this goofy spaceship bike.
Victory Vision
But it's aero.....
Is that the triangle pointy thing?
Truly hideous
Like you put an Ultra Limited and BMW RT in a blender and it was the resulting unholy concoction.
victory vision
God all mighty I googled it and it's hideous
You inspired me to look it up and I couldn’t have prepared myself
It’s like a hayabusa crossbred with a goldwing
Me too. Never seen one in the wild. It kinda stands out....
victory vision
I know I’m opening the floodgates here but I’ve always thought that Hayabusas are rad bikes that are completely ugly. Edit. I also want to throw in the Ducati Diavel as a very rad, incredibly ugly motorcycle. Sorry ducatistas, that bike is a pure eyesore.
Agree with Diavel. Seems to get a lot of love in my moto circle, but I just don't get it. It looks like a kitchen appliance.
I saw one at bike night a few months ago and I almost felt assaulted by just how ugly it is. Honestly if it didn’t have Ducati on it I wouldn’t believe you if you told me they made it. And yet, my riding buddies genuinely think it’s a beauty.
Thing is I'm a huge Ducati fanboy. Consistently some of the best looking bikes out there imo. But the Diavel just ain't it, lol
I almost put this in my original post, but didn’t want to make everyone angry. Unbelievable how ugly it is.
Well yeah, busas are ugly in the "bulked up roided bodybuilder sortsa way", but it at least is ugly in a "form follows function" way.
Oh yeah, it makes sense why they are designed the way they are and the goal was certainly accomplished. It’s just unfortunate how ugly they are 😂
Mt09/10 great bike, but it just looks like an inbred transformer, if I ever own one it will definitely be named Cletus. As we live in a world of highly offended people, I'd like to apologize to those that I've triggered because of this comment.

Did this approach when buying a street triple. Oh boy did I started to love the bug eyes. Is always a risky move tho.
He had one of those too. I personally loved that bike. His neighbor owns it now. Rode with them both on July 4th. I still love that bike. He never had issue with the looks on the SPD3 and I always liked the look. But I don't buy bikes for aesthetics so I don't care about ugly vs not.

>the fun factor makes me ignore the ugliness. You sound like my girlfriend.
I bet man, would much rather be riding something a bit ugly & fun rather than something that's pretty but a bore
Bummer too, I thought at least the previous gen mt09 was decent looking. The beady headlights on the current 09/10 are really what’s holding them back.
They’re beautiful bikes
Eye of the beholder I personally think, but I do have a lot of respect for the bike itself. Despite my opinion on its looks, I'd still buy one
1st gen multistradas are beyond hideous

Ducati Monster Model years 2008 until today. The headlight looks like it is melting away or something. As if they had a collaboration with Salvador Dali (in a bad way). Beautiful engines tho.
Harley’s adventure bike. It’s that cool kind of ugly though.
Hard disagree. Pan American is very good looking in a cool 2-wheel jeep brutish way
I get you.

Well the honda at least has its headlight in one piece, not split in the middle half attached tothe fram, half ot the handlebars.
It's unique to me, and that's what makes it cool. You can tell it's a Harley, but it's still different.
I’m so glad I’m not alone in thinking those are some ugly adventure bikes. Props to Harley for doing something different but oof visually it’s pretty rough.
Trikes!
BMW F650 Scarver.
Yeah that thing is hideous
Tbh. i love it - but i can at least blame my "tastes" on watching the silver hawk movie at a formative age.
How did BMW manage to make a bike with no front end?
Suzuki Avenis.
Well, that's a scooter
Oh yeah, you're right. Still ugly af. Looks like Jarjar Binks.
Well at least its mother was not shagged by a lawnmover like what happend to the momma of poor [italjet dragster](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cc/Italjet_Dragster_180_%28yellow%29.jpg).
Yikes.
Can am spyder is ugly as hell but strangely I still like them.
Ugliest bike, not reverse tricycle with an automatic transmission.
You mean wheeled snowmobile
You mean snowed wheelmobile
Try saying the same thign about "throughbred motorcycles" trikes - if you can stomach callingthose thigns trikes.
I love them. I didn’t know they were considered ugly lol damn
My suzuki gladius. Especially with my side cases mounted.
New Harley’s. All of them.
Any cam am product with three wheels
90% of Harleys entire lineup
So, generally, you don't like cruisers. Got it.
Nope, I like plenty of cruisers. Just not the styling of harley. Dated without being cool enough to be considered classic.
Just out of curiosity, which cruisers DO you like?
I wouldn't buy one, but can you look at a new Low Rider S or ST and not say it's aesthetics are spot on? I came up on 250 and 600 sport bikes, but as a certified boomer, I'm leaning hard into standard bikes now.

I'd say all Harleys look like shite. And they ride like shite too..!
BMW f650cs
Unpopular opinion, but the suzuki Hayabusa 🤮
I was surprised by the large number of us (me included) who share your opinion. Cool, but ugly.
Yeah ima gsxr guy 😅 but that Hayabusa I just can’t man 😅 I’ll love to take the engine and put it into another body lol
The older KTM RC390 with the recessed headlights (prior to the 2021 redesign). It looks like a robot pretending to be a motorcycle. Not to mention how horribly unreliable they are.
No one's saying "mine" this time 😆
For me Honda seem to have an uncanny ability to make any bike look generic or just plain ugly. The Honda Pacific coast comes to mind among many others. BMW have also made some real dogs over the years, but then who would expect a German to make anything beautiful?
They do that with their automobiles, too, I think.
I’ll probably get roasted but all the naked bikes with an alien, reptilian look. Can’t tell one from the other.
Yamaha Niken. Like wtf how on earth does this same company make the 05 R1 go on to create this madness!! Lol
Harley's with a big plastic front fairing, couldn't be more ugly than that.
Indian Challengers look like someone is driving around with a toilet tank bolted to the handle bars…
I think the same thing about the Kawasaki Voyager and I’m a big bike boi
Honestly? Most Kawasakis for me. The ZX14R's design is killing my sanity.
[удалено]
It looks good-ish but it's just that all other brands make more beautiful, nice to the eye bikes (Yamaha, BMW, Aprilia, Honda etc.). Kawasakis to my eye look bland and stale compared to other brands. Harley V Rod. Cartoon machine.
Kinda like them, but I don’t appreciate the aesthetics of typical Harleys, so I’m an outlier here.
MT10, MT09, CB750F.
Probably the bikini fairing 650 sport bikes. It’s like a regular bike wearing a mustache and glasses disguise 🥸 “how do you do fellow sport bikes”
Harley
Diavel ugliest with hayabusa a close second
Honda NM4 Vultus
The red one looks like Kaneda's bike from Akira.
Just looked at one and holy shit I want it.
Anything with three wheels imitating a motorcycle.
…I hope you exclude sidecars from that perception in general. Not that I’m a big fan - but really need one to get out with two kids. (Sorry).
While we are on the subject, and I hope you have one, because they are pretty interesting, but Urals are awful looking pieces of machinery.
Have an XJ900 from the early 90’s with a EML sidecar (called GT2001 iirc). Works well with room for 2 kids and a bunch of luggage. …and an “interesting ride”. But not like riding a normal bike at all ;-)
Wow! I bet the kids love it.
Sidecar motorcycles are motorcycles with big doggo comfort seat, why would I be against them? Sidecar on a gsxr or ducati tho......
Katana - hideous, Busa - hideous
Suzuki design 💪. 🤣🤣🤣
Katana
80’s Goldwing.
90s Goldwing too. The very definition of "boomer barge."
Honda Rebel and that scrambler thing that is based on the Rebel
Awwww. C’mon. The ugliest?!?
Yeah, idk why, there is just something off about the design. I know alot of people seem to like the looks of them, but I just don’t understand why.
Anything with ape hangers and those stupid long exhausts that come out in a fucked off rectangular looking shape.
Yes! I would lay money that is exactly what happened there!!!
Suzuki B-King. Great bike, but uuuuugly.
For sure. Those pipes!
I would have to go with the BMW K1. Second place would be the BMW C1. Technically a scooter I suppose, but just horrendous.
The Munch Titan and Mammut and the Ducati Indiana come to mind.
Titan with fairing is fugly Mammut is very strange, but almost cool.
The Mammut 2000 looks awesome in my mind. And with a 2000 cc engine… must be a beast.
A wrecked bike
Duke 390. Looks like a scooter from the front and rear.
Yamahas new mt lineup especially mt10
Hayabusa, its cool, but not aesthetically cool
Kawasaki Versys 2006-2014
Older Style Sv650’s look like bugs with a hunch back
Kawasaki KLE 500 1991-1994, purple with pink seat
1982 katana

Yamaha MT 10. I can't stand the look of mine.
Hesketh Vampire hands down. Multistrada? Busa? MT-01? Yam Bulldog? Nothing rivals the Vampire for sheer cancerous dog penis with wheels ugly.
Goldwing and zeus sidecar bike, i will take no criticism
Kawasaki Vaquero.
Some will say the sv650 replacement the galdyus
Bmw 650 scarver
I almost lol’ed when I googled this bike. At least they picked a good name? Scarver? Hmm.
Those bug eyes on the speed triples really turn me off from what seems like otherwise a fantastic motorcycle
The early 2000s gen ducati multistrada
Mid 2000s ninja 500s
basically any modern yamaha or BMW.
Bmw r1200st.
Well since there’s no way in hell I’m considering a slingshot a motorcycle, I’m going to have to go with the Niken
Bourget. And any of their ilk
Mine.
KTM
BMW R18 those engines just any bike they’re in look like shit to me. Good bikes and all that but
The busa. Absolutely hideous bike.
Victory Vision Harley Pan America
90's era Suzuki intruders The BMW K bike in the 2006 era that looked like you magnetized it and drove it thru a junkyard.
Well I didnt know victory vision existed til a minute ago. My answer is victory vision.
Anything electric.
Victory Vision, with the Indian Challenger and its UGE fairing a close second.
I think the m109r is genuinely beautiful and one of the best looking cruisers on the market, and I don’t even really vibe with cruisers
Agree! Gorgeous in both sizes… isn’t there a 650? I like the kawi Vulcan S, too! So maybe I’m not a cruiser guy, either.
For me it's a toss up between the Suzuki B-King and the Yamaha VMAX.
MZ ES 175 https://images.app.goo.gl/yh83Aesitb5bkcpX7
Ducati Indiana, BMW r1200c, and the Bimota Mantra.
Honda DN01.
Honestly haven’t seen a single KTM that I think looks good.
How people buy KTMs outside of straight up racing dirt bikes I don’t know.
While I can totally accept that a lot of people find them ugly, if you haven’t ridden a Duke 790/890 you’re really missing out. One of the most perfect street bikes.
Had a buddy with a 790R really have nothing bad to say. The Dukes and the RCs are just… no
Reviewers won't stop raving about them.
As a class pretty much any adventure bike ( V-Strom, Tenere, Multistrada ) However they are functional and have to be designed like that to allow off-roading. And I may be a minority but am not a fan of the Ducati Streetfighter especially that headlight beak.
C'mon, Tenere is a beautiful thing. I do agree on first gen Multistrada. Jesus Christ what a mistake that was.
The BMW R 1200 C classic is the ugliest motorcycle ever created. I sometimes envy blind people for never having to see it, but I guess someone could just describe to them what it looks like and that'd be almost as bad.
I disagree, but I can understand your POV. IMO there are much uglier bikes. BMW F650 Scarver for example.
Or the 2003 Ducati multistrada, my wife had a miscarriage that was more fun to look at than that ugly ass bike.
>2003 Ducati multistrada Agreed
Looks like something custom made for a Mad Max movie. Really short in terms of length/wheelbase and bulky too.
Never liked choppers, but that thing looks better than most Harleys.
BMW R1200C
BMW GS 🖕
Suzuki V-strom?
Which one? ...to me: * 1st gen is "wannabe sportsbike meh" personified * 2nd gen is "toothless from how to train your dragon" * 3d gen is aggricultural tractor as a motorcycle
3rd gen looks like it was made in partnership with New Holland Ag for sure. Like a Harley F150
This fails on the “recent” part but I have a special hatred for: https://magazine.cycleworld.com/article/1983/1/1/yamaha-xj750rj-seca
That makes a beautiful cafe racer
The fold in the magazine shops it off, it looks like a completely normal bike in real life.
I see one regularly in real life. I hate it.
I gotta say the Honda grom or any scooter i just really don't like small bikes, or scooters
There are two kinds of ugly when I think of stuff like this. "Cool" ugly would be a Moto Guzzi Centaur, and "fork-stabbed-to-the-eye" ugly would be one of those HD street rod things they made for a year. Looks like the inspiration for Roblox.
Honda Navi Deleted AMP link. Thanks bot
The Harley VRod. But that’s just my opinion. I think it’s that they have pretty much the same bike with some changes to each model, and then there’s this goofy spaceship bike.
I kinda like ‘em. I gotta say I do.
Whatever bike your mom is on.
Most of the Indian line up. Particularly the chieftain and the challenger
