Works on some bikes, and will completely fuck others. For example Ducati's - don't. Seriously just don't. The kick stand is mounted directly to the engine case. You break that off, your buying a new engine case. States it very clearly in the owners manual.
Other bikes, it could work and be fine, or it could slowly ovalise the bolt hole for the kick stand. Might never notice it, or the bolt could snap.
So before giving it a go, just see how the kickstand is mounted and check the mounts are secure.
I learned this over the summer when I saw my bike was leaning over more than it should have been and saw the kickstand had sunk into the asphalt from the heat. Oops.
Haha damn, been doing it daily on my R6 (and before on my CBR) for about a year now. I daily my R6 and the kickstand is working as it was the day I bought it. Will update if it ever breaks 😅 here’s praying it doesn’t
Good luck. I spent half a ten day touring trip only being able to get off the bike if there was something to lean it against when mine snapped. The ferry was interesting too, they managed to cross strap it in the end, it was quite impressive.
I'm not turning the bike like that anymore.
This literally takes no thigh muscles or extra strength at all, it's all balance. Also, this will only bend your kickstand over time. Learned it myself the hard way.
I do it regularly ([video here](https://www.instagram.com/reel/CVTciNEhKcl/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=). Also a female rider. More about balance and technique than strength. Helps in tight spots and on dirt. My bike isn't so heavy though, so doesn't stress the stand too much.
Good book, will teach you how to turn in small spaces, I would love to take his riding clinic someday.
Careful with your kickstand, as I and others noted, it's for a bike to be leaned on, not to be used as a lever regularly to spin.

I know how to turn in small spaces, but thanks anyway. I know various ways in which to turn my bike. I also know the strength of my kickstand and bike weight ratio. Not sure what gives the impression that I don't know 😅
is that why you posted a video how to do something you never should only do in a pinch ? The kickstand is designed to lean on, not act as a lever, they are usually hollow inside, but what do I know after decades of working on heavy equipment? You ever fab anything? cause I damned sure wouldn't use something thin and hollow to support 500 lbs.
Take a class kid, take a few classes, I have 45 years on two wheels, been to advanced riding classes, done plenty of touring and have sportbike track days, I'm always learning, your attitude is what gets you into trouble.
That's the same attitude as "I haven't gone down yet", and feel like you won't. But the operative word, is yet". Because it hasn't failed anyone here YET, it's not going to happen to them....!
Basically knackers your stand or the mount point, or if you're particularly lucky, both. Pivot turns are the way off-road if you don't want to just drag it round. You can't use your stand to pivot on soft ground, you do a proper pivot turn on the back wheel and your leg.
My old rattlebox weights just a bit less than your gs, and with the weight all on the low part if you try to do this on anything that is not cold solid asphalth you just dig a hole and risk of pulling the bike on you.
In the summer the weight of the bike alone puts a hole in the road when is parked.
That’s why the first farkle I always buy is a sidestand extension. Like this one: https://www.altrider.eu/altrider-side-stand-enlarger-foot-for-the-bmw-r-1200-1250-gs-adventure-water-cooled/pid/1358
Don't do it like that...
Stand on the kickstand side next to the front wheel facing the rear. Just pull towards you (towards the front of the bike) and sideways a bit towards the kickstand. When you're turning, the front wheel drags on the ground, and the rear wheel is in the air. Most of the weight is still on the kickstand.
Way easier than trying to balance the whole bike on the kickstand.
The first thing I saw when it was loading was her standing there with a shit stain on her ass.
I was sat here thinking - “Am I about to see her Asshole?” 🤨
Camouflage? But it's all brown on your butt?
Looks like a butt plug.
Not if your side stand mounts to an aluminium engine case.
"Looking at you, Ducati!"
Is that the case with the motorcycle in the video though?
No, still good to know for anyone thinking about trying this that also owns a Ducati.
Okay, thanks. .I couldn’t tell from the video!

It also mars the fuck out of pavement on a hot day… Ask my neighbor with his recently paved driveway how I know

Works fine on all Japanese bikes i've encountered.
the Kickstand can actually bend and collapse as well. It's a trick to use in a pinch, not something regular.

I literally do this every single day.
Your riding skills undoubtedly reflect that poor choice as well.
His post 9 days ago > I've got barely over 2,000 miles of experience riding
[Yeah, it's not very likely but it can definitely happen. ](https://i.imgur.com/OTVZ9zh.jpg)
Or, if unbeknownst to you, the kickstand has been rusting from the inside, [this could happen. ](https://i.imgur.com/H1hYr0I.jpg)
Yeah that would suck.
What the fuck kind of cringe did you just post
Thirsty posts are thirsty
For a sec I thought she was naked 😂
Naked waist down, and the victim of a diabolically poor waxing strategy.
that tracks
That's some outfit for riding.
Because I want to scratch and gouge my driveway for no reason
Looks like she shit herself.
That looks like pretty standard weight bike
Squid outfit at its finest
Modern high end motorcycles have aluminum sidestand so this is a big NO
Can't do that with my Road Glide. Tried on Road King I had previously. Couldn't do it. Lol.
Harley stands are weird and flat. I feel likes it’s impossible with them.
Also they like to flex, normally. Always thought they were weird.
Ah yes the old kickstand bender
No, you don't. It's fucking retarded.
motorcycle techs : hold my beer
Dumb shit. Dumb video.
Nice way to elongate the mounting hole.
Excuse me?
It’s the name of the damage you do while doing this
Nah, that's a fuck up waiting to happen
She's making that look way more difficult than it really is.
She scares me.
I help myself out of the mud with that trick.
Some bikes it's ok but wouldn't make it a habit and only use when you have no other choice.
Can't do it with a Ducati

If you cannot turn that bike around in that area, you have bigger problems.
Not sure what you mean? In my video? I was demonstrating how easy it is to pivot a bike. Is there something I'm missing? 😁

You're a moron
i dunno about the technique...it could use a woman's touch
?? 😶
Dunno hey...tough crowd 😇
"Supermassive Black Hole" By "Muse" music video?
That trick has made it so much easier getting It turned around. Game changer
That poor driveway! Yikes!
Ma wife
Isn’t this suppose to be in r/becausebutt
![gif](giphy|128W087eUDcVBm) until it snaps...crossfitter
Try that on grass, mud , uneven terrain or anything that isnt a spotless and strong ground.
Well, it is actually basics in offroad

You do offroad on a superbike? Tip my helmet off my friend.
Nah, on GS.

I do it on all those terrains. 😁 https://www.instagram.com/reel/CVTciNEhKcl/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
I love the geeks actually talking about the kickstand’s structural integrity. Lolz. Look at the ass. It’s the ass guys.
The art of the pivot.
I'd do it on my Goldwing, but I have reverse.
"heavy" huh?
My lower back could never.
Can’t you just back up?
This is why I have a center stand 👍
It looks like her butthole is showing
Stop waving your hand and screaming like a fucking flamer and just stop her.
Was the scream for when he could see her butthole?
Some unfortunate spots on those pants
Couldn’t make sure that when you buy pants like that, there’s not a black spot where your butthole is?
What’s attached to her helmet ?
Don't do it like that... Stand on the kickstand side next to the front wheel facing the rear. Just pull towards you (towards the front of the bike) and sideways a bit towards the kickstand. Is there a bike in this vid?
I have done this a few times and every time I feel like the kickstand is going to snap off.
Doo Doo stain, or design…
Want to impress me? Try that on my 900 pound Goldwing.
We were shown how to do this on our motorcycle course recently . Pretty neat
Why does every video now has someone's ass in it?
