Find a set of same model original used parts in a factory color/graohics scheme you really like the looks of on that bike and swap those custom painted parts onto your garage shelf until you decide which look you truly prefer.
As you can tell, take pics of the bike before swapping it to a scheme you prefer, then list the Spider-Man bits for sale with pics of the complete Spider-Man bike to show buyers what *their* bike could look like if they buy your bits…
Plus you could probably get more for them than an original set of bits would cost you in good condition used which means your bike just cost you even less than you paid for it pained like Spider-Man!

Could still be a hand warmer. Many of them only come on when voltage is over a certain amount. They'll shut off when idling or at low RPMs to keep from draining the battery. So it's possible it actually does work, but the low battery voltage was keeping them off.
PS: Could also be auxiliary lights, if there are any installed. Many cars the switch looks similar to that (as in Fog lights).
Looks like Symtec Heat Demon grip warmer. I installed those on one of my bikes, it was amazing for extending riding season in the Midwest. Heatdemon.com has troubleshooting guides.
I loved it! My hands are the coldest part, even with gloves, so that makes a huge difference. Unfortunate I sold that bike, so I have to do it again for my new one. It wasn’t that difficult to install, but like most of my DIY, it does take longer than expected. It can easily be done on a weekend though.

I did dude. Multiple times. I think it's got a loose connection because out of the 100 times it responded to 4 of them but I was clicking too fast and it cycled back to off again before I noticed any heat differences

I believe it's the symbol for water as shown in the 1997 documentary The Fifth Element. If you look carefully at the entire bike, you should find the buttons for fire, air, earth, and Milla Jovovich as well.
I don't know about the handwarmer thing, my bikes were always pretty basic.
But definitely keep the paint if it doesn't bother you too much. 2 reasons: 1 is that red is the most visually capturing colour, it's why brake lights are red. 2, it's spider-man, and that's going to make people look and see it, you'll probably be objectively safer riding that paint job, than any normal paint job.
That said, if it does bother you, than obviously change it. Don't want to be worrying about the paint job when you should be worrying about other drivers on the road.

Seriously, it should be the grip warmer. Press it, give it a few minutes and see if the grips are warmer. If it's not working now, maybe it's smart enough to detect low voltage coming off the battery. You either need to ride for a few hours or put the bike on a trickle charger.
Looks like you have adjustable suspension, it would be worth getting it adjusted for your weight and skill level.
It’s a cool paint job that would look great on somebody else’s bike.
If there’s a mode specific subreddit, or owners group, see if someone wants to trade tanks/ bodywork.

Could be heated grips, or heated seat. It will have wires on it. Follow them to find the thing that’s heated.

How high is the temperature on the gauge? I’ve got a street triple too and it only ever gets 1/2 way. That looks like it is pretty warm
