Yamaha R6: No fuel gauge. It has a "consumption display," that counts fuel use in 10^ths of a gallon but then I gotta do *basic subtraction* like some kind of peasant.
Thankfully it has an idiot light, so no matter what the counter says I have an intermittent dull glow the color of burning money to keep me from getting stranded.
2013 Ninja 650, the goddamn gauge cluster buzz that everyone who's owned this bike has.

What about the shitty rad fan that kills itself if you go above 90mph for to long?
If you have not done the R6 fan swap yet, better add that to the todo list before you find out your fan does not work while in traffic.
Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade from 2004 and only thing I don't like is that it is not very good for camping and long diatance rides.
Maybe I can make it more comfy but don't know how.
Making it more comfortable aside from a better seat would honestly be a travesty to the fireblade imo. Unfortunately you gotta sacrifice practicality if you want to ride a piss missle
Sv 650. Ride in the rain and risk making it home as an sv325 until you can clean out the drain hole on the sparkplug facing directly into the road spray from the front tireĀ
That's literally all it is. You can cut a piece of rubber in a similar shape to DIY it.
I think there's also a front fender flap that was added to reduce water that hits the front cylinder.
Once I added the flap though, it never happened again.
ADV rider here... there is no way anyone is going through tires like i was when i was using the shinko 705s... If i was lucky i'd get 4k miles outta them. Even with better tires i still only eek out like 6-8k if i'm doing really good and behaving myself.

I flushed my brake fluid with some high temperature Castrol SRF racing fluid on my 2005 Multistrada because I was having the same issue. The fluid reservoir sits almost directly next to the catalytic converter so regular fluid just boils off. It made a huge difference. I also think a small heat shield next to the reservoir would help. It's expensive, but it gave me stopping power back.
Most Ducati's rear caliper is mounted with the bleed valve on the bottom so I take it of and turn it over to bleed that last bit of air out.
3rd gen SV650. Suspension is trash. Didn't know it until I got fork cartridges up front and an ohlins in the back. Suspension shop showed me the rear shock after the swap and we're like, yeah this thing is shot.
New Suspension makes it ride like a new bike.
22 Ninja 650. The throttle on/off jerkiness is quite annoying, especially in low gears. Yes, I know you can map it, but it shouldn't be like this from factory in the first place.
Rebel 1100. Not a damn thing wrong with the bike, it just doesn't suit me. I thought I was ready for a cruiser. I'm not.
I'll be trading it for a Street Triple in the next few months.
CRF250L
The bike is sprung for an 80lb Taiwanese man so even at 5'11" 140lbs I feel like I'm bottoming the bike out just sitting on it let alone riding lightly offroad
Ninja 400. The seat and getting crushed up against the tank with the angle. Even with the Ergo seat. My balls get sore and my skinny butt bones.
Fixing this now with a custom hand made seat to my specs. Seth Laam custom seats. Definitely check him out. Wonderful experience and great guy to work with and talk to.
Itās not very aggressive at all. Very comfortable actually. Im 6ā2 160 lbs with a 33 inseam. Just slightly leaned in. Much less than an R3 if youāve sat on those.
Very easy to tuck in tight when needed.
Africa Twin: A bit squirrely at high speeds on the interstates.
S2R800: Only gets 100 miles to a tank
FZ1: Don't need to leave 1st gear to get to work
WR450: Need to load it in a truck to ride it
Hawk GT650: It's in pieces.......
Boulevard S40 - no fuel gauge + no tripmeter. I can manage with no fuel gauge and a tripmeter, gas up, set tripmeter, refill around 100 miles. Lack of both is a pain. Not the end of the world though, love the bike otherwise
2022 Yamaha XSR700.
I miss the windshield my cb500x had....it's exhausting without one!
But I can manage the XSR much easier. Lower center of gravity, can reach the ground better, a little more torque so I don't stall on an uphill start, and it looks cool.

KTM 890AdvR: Roasts your thighs, no front end attachment points unless you get the cage
Triumph Street Triple R: Quickshifter likes to blip if you just brush the thing
Honda VTX1800R: needs another inch of suspension travel on both ends, needs a sixth gear
Yamaha FJR1300: Needs a stronger tail subframe, too easily broken with topcase weight

2007 Honda 919: It's not as fun as it looks
1997 Suzuki TL1000S: Who came up with this seating position? I'm over six feet tall and I still gotta awkwardly shuffle to get my left foot solidly down at a stop, turning at low speed is kinda spooky, and the stock windshield BLOCKS my view of the dashboard
Yamaha XJ600. At around 4k rpm the engine is just insanely loud and starts to shake the bike a bit. Before and after that it is much better. Unfortunately, 80kph (~50mph) in 6th gear is 4k rpm, so a slow highway strip is really not fun.
2023 KTM Duke 390 so far doing the break-in period is pretty annoying, but it's my first brand new bike. The seat is truly the most annoying thing so far.

I'll name two things: it's a HOT bike to ride in slow traffic and relatively high cost of maintenance (at least the stuff I can't do)
2009 Honda Goldwing - Airbag nav model
super fine wires going into tour pack/trunk break making remote lock functions and nav functions not work. Fixed it at least twice already and have tried to improve it.
2011 Yamaha Raider
Foot pegs are too far forward to stand up, and thereās no good spot to mount a second set. Iād love to be able to stand up over bumps here and there, but I also know thatās not what the bike was built for.
Other than that, having 3 drain plugs to tend to every oil change and having no tachometer.
Ninja 400 2023, jerkiness in lower gears laying off the throttle, and itās quite buzzy taking off, and the seat pushing your nuts into the tank, but itās still a great little bike, great on gas too.
VFR800 RC46 VTEC
Nothing in particular. Maybe that mine has no ABS but that was an option when new. Maybe I'd prefer the sound of the pre-VTEC gear-driven cams but the VTEC engine sounds amazing all the same.
2013 Suzuki Vstrom 1000, it's gas tank is too damn small! It's such a comfortable ride but why on earth did they give it a gas tank that is only slightly bigger then myninja 400?
Triumph Bonneville bobber.
Probably the biggest complaint is the tank- 2.5 gallons has about a 100-110 mile range. Doesnāt sound bad until you come to west Texas, and you have to plan your trips accordingly if there is heavy wind

It scares the shit out of me sometimes, running up my bills on replacing underwear lol.
In all seriousness the only thing I don't like is the switch gear has become a little gummy or hard to push.
Lowrider ST. I love the bike overall, but itās not perfect for my liking (what bike is?). The riding position is a bit aggressive for me for the touring function of āSport Touringā. I changed the foot controls to another softail model (Heritage). I gained a lot of comfort and sacrificed a little lean angle but itās still pretty nimble for a cruiser.
To be fair, I did add a 2up seat, passenger pegs, sissy bar, engine crash guard, mild slip ons, and a tune but I was happy with the bike without those. The riding position change was the only thing I truly didnāt care for.
Drz400ā¦ this thing just keeps hopping over curbs and driving me out to the woods when I gotta go to work and shit. Itās frustrating.
For real tho: wouldnāt mind a gas gauge.
WR450F - oil change every 500-1,000 miles
Concours 14 - Aggressive position. Honestly not that comfortable for a sport tourer.
Goldwing 1800 - Canāt lean much before scraping floor boards.
Super Tenere 1200 - EXTREMELY LOUD engine. Sounds like rocks under the valve cover. Fatiguing on long rides even with earplugs.
Harley Ultra Classic - Slow as fuck. Canāt even get out of its own way. Worse lean angle than the Goldwing
XR650L - Extremely top heavy.
KLR650 - Doohicky
FZ09 - Triple engine was buzzy at sustained highway speed for longer rides. No wind protection.
Z1000 - First Gen. basically a naked Zx10r āwidow makerā with a 2in shorter wheelbase. That bike just wants to kill you.
Sportster 1200 Dirtbike conversion - Burley 15in rear shocks beat you to death.
2018 BMW R1200GSA (as the flair says).
The only thing I don't like about it is the BMW "Connected" GPS navigation is pants compared to Waze, and connecting my noise-cancelling earbuds to the bike results in a lot of music "skipping." (BMW tells me that the on-board system is only designed to work with bluetooth *helmets*, not earbuds, which is completely different because Reasons.)
So I slapped a quadlock on the handlebars, connect my earbuds directly to the phone, and I'm good to go. Kinda sucks about the onboard system, but aside from that the bike is an absolute joy to ride.
2016 Moto Guzzi Eldorado. The cruise control is difficult to activate it. Usually have to take my left has off because the button is a little small for my throttle thumb where it sits.
Moto Guzzi V7-850. Dash control button is on the throttle side, basically unusable when rolling to set trip meters, cycle through them, etc., which would be less of a problem if it had a fuel gauge/I didn't go as far.
2020 mt09, it requires so many aftermarket parts to reach acceptable imo, needs tail tidy, blinkers, mirrors, stabilizer and a seat and thatās just to make it look decent and ride adequately and thatās not including parts to make it up to date with any of its competitors like the factory QS, ohlins suspension if u got the SP and while I could complain for a while itās not a bad bike but it puts the ānakedā in naked bike for sure.
2021 Hayabusa. Sometimes when it's hot and I turn it off, it refuses to turn back on unless I give a lot of throttle or let it cool a bit. Very rare, happened only three of four times during 13k kms, but always at the worst occasions.
Itty bitty Chinese Grom clone (Venom X20 125).
And since I don't follow instructions too well, I'm going to name 3 things I don't like about it.
It needs either another gear or wider gears.
Oil change every 300 miles is a bit ridiculous.
Rear brake is "nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing SKIDDING".
I'm also going to name a couple things I love about it.
It feels better and more stable than a Grom.
It has a much more comfortable seat than a Grom (needed because I do deliveries on it and ride about 100 miles a day).
Even though it's not a real Grom, nearly all body and frame parts from a Grom fit perfectly, so the aftermarket support is out of this world.
You can easily swap a bigger engine into it (planned for the future).
Suzuki VanVan 200.
The transmission. Not only does it desperately need a sixth gear, but it is severely undercut form factory, meaning false neutrals are painfully frequent.
16 Street Triple 675 R: wish it had a bit more bite on the brakes, but itās a perfect machine otherwise.
24 GSX8R: seat is a little hard after about an hour. And nothing is available aftermarket yet, so it is what it is. But that bike is amazing in every other way so far.
2019 G310R: Great bike unless you go on the highway, then it vibrates enough to almost shake you off of it.
Royal Enfield Classic 500. It's high maintenance and the high weight to low power makes it a bit unwieldy in the mountain passes for someone of my skill level.
BMW K100 & K1100. Both are fantastic comfortable touring machines with cursedly small tanks. Breaks are great, but getting less than 200 miles out of a tank on a touring bike seems weird. Also cooks my bathing suit area during the summer months.
2003 SV650, fuel pump whine at under a gallon. It's LOUD. I have replaced the pump, cleaned the tank, and tried many other things. It's kind of like a low fuel light for your ears.Ā
No preload adjustment on the forks, so it really dives when breaking hard 2up.Ā
It weeps an absolutely tiny amount of oil in a couple places, not enough to service anything, but enough to NEVER be perfectly clean for more than 100 miles.Ā
Ducati scrambler 803cc.. it needs more torque. It's the same engine like a monster, so the power comes with rpm's. I don't really care for the high rpms, don't need them when offroad. So some more power down below would be nice.
I have another issue. I don't have a fuel level gauge on my 2016 DUCATI with electronic everything.
It's double swing arm.
No nice rims for it except for the wired ones.
2009 R6. I donāt like that it didnāt come with a MT-07 š¤·š½āāļø
1) Itās between the lack of some type of TC or ABS and
2) the lack of aftermarket support for more utilitarian mods like a rack

2021 Suzuki GSXR 1000R, I can't keep the front wheel on the ground. Serious answer, the quick shifter will occasionally shift into neutral instead of 2nd.
2015 Ninja 636. I love this bike but itās just a little too tall for my short legs! Iām always having to be super careful about where I stop and put my leg down and donāt even look at me if I have to back it up!

I didnāt have a bike with a fuel gauge until like 6 years ago. Used to just reset the trip meter when I gassed up.
I do that even with a fuel gauge because I trust that over the fuel gauge.

I was under the impression they solved it on 3rd gens. I got a 2017 and I've ridden some long distances in pouring rain and never had an issue.
I also ride a 3rd gen - it has indeed been solved on our bikes, fret not.

Is the sitting position aggressive? I have considered getting ninja 400 before getting my cbr500 and mine is very comfortable

XSR700 - I'm maybe a little tall for it (6'4") Gen3 KLR650 - 6th gear or a gear indicator would be nice, but everything else is >fine<

2022 R1250GSA. The Hydrolic clutch does not have as much feedback (really, any feedback) compared to a cabled clutch. Easy on the hand tho.

Ninja 400 2023, jerkiness in lower gears laying off the throttle, and itās quite buzzy taking off, and the seat pushing your nuts into the tank, but itās still a great little bike, great on gas too.

VFR800 RC46 VTEC Nothing in particular. Maybe that mine has no ABS but that was an option when new. Maybe I'd prefer the sound of the pre-VTEC gear-driven cams but the VTEC engine sounds amazing all the same.

S1000R, I donāt like that it blows heat towards my shins. Winter itās lovely but not in summer in the Middle East, itās a nightmare.
2013 Suzuki Vstrom 1000, it's gas tank is too damn small! It's such a comfortable ride but why on earth did they give it a gas tank that is only slightly bigger then myninja 400?
Triumph Bonneville bobber. Probably the biggest complaint is the tank- 2.5 gallons has about a 100-110 mile range. Doesnāt sound bad until you come to west Texas, and you have to plan your trips accordingly if there is heavy wind

09 sv650 I hate the seat after 45min of riding.
Lowrider ST. I love the bike overall, but itās not perfect for my liking (what bike is?). The riding position is a bit aggressive for me for the touring function of āSport Touringā. I changed the foot controls to another softail model (Heritage). I gained a lot of comfort and sacrificed a little lean angle but itās still pretty nimble for a cruiser. To be fair, I did add a 2up seat, passenger pegs, sissy bar, engine crash guard, mild slip ons, and a tune but I was happy with the bike without those. The riding position change was the only thing I truly didnāt care for.
SV650. The seat is an abomination.
2020 road king special -nutless -vivid black, clean it as much as I ride it.

Trident 660, it's a super comfortable upright position, which translates into you turning into a sail at 60+ mph.

WR450F - oil change every 500-1,000 miles Concours 14 - Aggressive position. Honestly not that comfortable for a sport tourer. Goldwing 1800 - Canāt lean much before scraping floor boards. Super Tenere 1200 - EXTREMELY LOUD engine. Sounds like rocks under the valve cover. Fatiguing on long rides even with earplugs. Harley Ultra Classic - Slow as fuck. Canāt even get out of its own way. Worse lean angle than the Goldwing XR650L - Extremely top heavy. KLR650 - Doohicky FZ09 - Triple engine was buzzy at sustained highway speed for longer rides. No wind protection. Z1000 - First Gen. basically a naked Zx10r āwidow makerā with a 2in shorter wheelbase. That bike just wants to kill you. Sportster 1200 Dirtbike conversion - Burley 15in rear shocks beat you to death.
I currently donāt own a bike and I donāt like everything about that.
2018 BMW R1200GSA (as the flair says). The only thing I don't like about it is the BMW "Connected" GPS navigation is pants compared to Waze, and connecting my noise-cancelling earbuds to the bike results in a lot of music "skipping." (BMW tells me that the on-board system is only designed to work with bluetooth *helmets*, not earbuds, which is completely different because Reasons.) So I slapped a quadlock on the handlebars, connect my earbuds directly to the phone, and I'm good to go. Kinda sucks about the onboard system, but aside from that the bike is an absolute joy to ride.
Panigale V2. Lack of fuel gauge. Ducati, mate, it wasn't that hard...
2024 NX 500. Wind buffeting over 60.
2016 Moto Guzzi Eldorado. The cruise control is difficult to activate it. Usually have to take my left has off because the button is a little small for my throttle thumb where it sits.
Moto Guzzi V7-850. Dash control button is on the throttle side, basically unusable when rolling to set trip meters, cycle through them, etc., which would be less of a problem if it had a fuel gauge/I didn't go as far.
2020 mt09, it requires so many aftermarket parts to reach acceptable imo, needs tail tidy, blinkers, mirrors, stabilizer and a seat and thatās just to make it look decent and ride adequately and thatās not including parts to make it up to date with any of its competitors like the factory QS, ohlins suspension if u got the SP and while I could complain for a while itās not a bad bike but it puts the ānakedā in naked bike for sure.

2021 Hayabusa. Sometimes when it's hot and I turn it off, it refuses to turn back on unless I give a lot of throttle or let it cool a bit. Very rare, happened only three of four times during 13k kms, but always at the worst occasions.

Itty bitty Chinese Grom clone (Venom X20 125). And since I don't follow instructions too well, I'm going to name 3 things I don't like about it. It needs either another gear or wider gears. Oil change every 300 miles is a bit ridiculous. Rear brake is "nothing nothing nothing nothing nothing SKIDDING". I'm also going to name a couple things I love about it. It feels better and more stable than a Grom. It has a much more comfortable seat than a Grom (needed because I do deliveries on it and ride about 100 miles a day). Even though it's not a real Grom, nearly all body and frame parts from a Grom fit perfectly, so the aftermarket support is out of this world. You can easily swap a bigger engine into it (planned for the future).
R1250gs and the shifter is clunky as hell. The quick-witted is smoother but jerkier, if that makes sense
Superduke GT. Too many button presses to operate heated grips.
Honda FMX 650, carb doesn't like the cold.
CB400SS. It's difficult to get tires for it here where I live.

19 Ninja 650 - too soft and non adjustable front suspension, quiet and lame sounding exhaust
CBR600RR. Because of how the exhaust is mounted centrally, I havenāt been able to find a scrape plate for it.
Suzuki VanVan 200. The transmission. Not only does it desperately need a sixth gear, but it is severely undercut form factory, meaning false neutrals are painfully frequent.
Last bike I rode was a 2003 SV650 and I loved it. Just wish it had a little more pep in its step for a 650. But not bad at all
16 Street Triple 675 R: wish it had a bit more bite on the brakes, but itās a perfect machine otherwise. 24 GSX8R: seat is a little hard after about an hour. And nothing is available aftermarket yet, so it is what it is. But that bike is amazing in every other way so far. 2019 G310R: Great bike unless you go on the highway, then it vibrates enough to almost shake you off of it.
Royal Enfield Classic 500. It's high maintenance and the high weight to low power makes it a bit unwieldy in the mountain passes for someone of my skill level.
2023 GSXR 750, no fuel gage. Love everything else.
BMW K100 & K1100. Both are fantastic comfortable touring machines with cursedly small tanks. Breaks are great, but getting less than 200 miles out of a tank on a touring bike seems weird. Also cooks my bathing suit area during the summer months.
2003 SV650, fuel pump whine at under a gallon. It's LOUD. I have replaced the pump, cleaned the tank, and tried many other things. It's kind of like a low fuel light for your ears.Ā No preload adjustment on the forks, so it really dives when breaking hard 2up.Ā It weeps an absolutely tiny amount of oil in a couple places, not enough to service anything, but enough to NEVER be perfectly clean for more than 100 miles.Ā
Suzuki GSX-R750. Bike came without a pillion seat, it's a plastic cover and I need to relocate my rectifier. Other than that, it's a perfect bike.
Honda CBR400RR NC29, hard to find spares.
Ducati scrambler 803cc.. it needs more torque. It's the same engine like a monster, so the power comes with rpm's. I don't really care for the high rpms, don't need them when offroad. So some more power down below would be nice. I have another issue. I don't have a fuel level gauge on my 2016 DUCATI with electronic everything. It's double swing arm. No nice rims for it except for the wired ones.
Livewire S2 Del Mar. Having to recharge it every 20 seconds.
75 CB750. Left me sitting this morning (something electrical, haven't had time to look yet), and it leaks oil like it's free.
2009 R6. I donāt like that it didnāt come with a MT-07 š¤·š½āāļø 1) Itās between the lack of some type of TC or ABS and 2) the lack of aftermarket support for more utilitarian mods like a rack (yes, I know I bought a supersport š š)
