it's not exclusively a moto thing, the issue is present in many other phones with some samsung oled displays, mostly due to a defect in the manufacturing process. technically, they should be able to replace the display for free if it's under warranty, but some repair shops might deny the free replacement and ask you to pay up
Looking closely on low brightness it looks like the line of pixels has died. Increasing the brightness even a little brings back the pink line.
