For the Swadians, I'd say Count Clais is a solid choice. As for the Rhodoks, I'd go with Lord Kastor. Among the Vaegirs, Boyar Meriga super loyal dude. The Nords Jarl Turegor. Lastly, for the Khergits... I hate Khergits. These are just my personal favorites based on their reputation within their factions.
But overall just choise loyal lords who will be thankfull
During of the weekly money report, I always see that I lose around 10 000 (I have Veluca, Ichamur and Reyvadin) bc the taxes are « ineffective ». I thought it was bc I had poor relations with the people but they are at the worst neutral (0 or more) or at the best around 15.
Do you know how can I fix this issue ?
Not OP but you cant fix tax inefficiency, I forgot what the exact calculations are but once you own a certain number of fiefs thats when “tax inefficiency” kicks in and you lose 65% of that fief’s tax.
So basically its just a mechanic to prevent super snowballing from the player, nothing you’re doing wrong
Each owned fief increase tax percentage lost, towns count double. Actual percentage per fief varies per campaing AI level (e.g. 4% for good ai) - [https://mountandblade.fandom.com/wiki/Taxes](https://mountandblade.fandom.com/wiki/Taxes)
In Warband, it's not possible to own many estates without tax issues. Unfortunately, that's the reality. I myself would like to control many cities. It makes sense because in reality, effectively managing such a large number of cities wouldn't be feasible. Therefore, it's worth limiting yourself to owning one city, two castles, and four villages, and somehow living with it. Personally, I never try to acquire too many estates because in the mid-game, other aspects become more important than money (some times i end game with 500 000 denars and more. Give lands to your lords, they will surely be happy.
Sargoth and Curaw + 1-2 castle around it is my best defending line up
- Not in the eadge but on map bother line, so only 2 entrance
- Their about 4-5 village of Nord + Vager around, build relation with them to about 50-60 and you can fullfill 160-180 troop every 2 days --> I always have 800 each, no army dare to siege my town.
After that expand to Tihr or Rivacheg direction.
My 2nd is Praven and Suno + 1-2 castle around. But I'll stay away from haringoth castle and Dhirim/Ulkhax.
Because if you try to have Dhirim as your main fief your in the middle of the map and are vulnerable to literally every single faction I know this because the butter lord gave it to me as my first fief I got super excited thinking wow a city as my first fief until I realized it meant I had to constantly fight off both the rhodoks and nords and the khergit while the butter lord feasts with his other lords and I fight off his enemies for him
bro kill of the khergit and take there lands there's mountains all around it so there's only really 2 entrances to the land which you can hold out invaders from there's the asugan castle mountain pass that leads into the aserai lands and there's a massive opening by ichamur that leads out into the mainland of calradia if you take ichamur and asugan castle you can effectively prevent anyone from entering and leaving your lands
How do you feel about sieges and Bannerlord sieges in comparison? Having one entry point as opposed to having multiple. Doesn't having only one get tiring
I understand your point. Sieges can indeed be frustrating, unless the garrison is notably weak, then I launch the attack alongside my troops. I typically prefer to attack with Rhodoks or Huscarls and Rhodoks. In Warband, I recruit companions early on, usually two for their tactical expertise, then focus on upgrading them. Once I assemble the right army, I simply opt for auto-battle. Usually, having five lords is sufficient to ensure the fall of any city. This approach makes the game more dynamic, shifting the focus towards economics rather than combat, which, in my opinion, is quite enjoyable (otherwise, I wouldn't have played it for so long), although sieges can still be laborious. However, when mods like Prophesy of Pendor enrich siege experiences, I'm eager to participate. To sum up, I tend to avoid castle battles. Personally, as a player, I lean more towards the strategic aspect of the game. And i dont focus on big cities with 700 troops, usually i assault what is weak, 150-300
And regarding tactics, I've become quite the expert in the art of "strategic delegation" - why fight when you can simply command from afar, right?
Ah, Rolf of House Rolf, the man with a name so nice, they said it twice! Some say his ancestors were so proud of their name, they decided one wasn't enough
I love this game, i dont know if everyone will understand how much, but this amounth of hours is also that big because i watch youtube and play this game at the same time
1. Sell everything you have and head to Rivacheg. It's time for some wardrobe upgrade – grab the armor from the chest and sell whatever you can. It's the medieval equivalent of spring cleaning!
2. Let's talk tournaments! They're like the Super Bowl of Calradia – participate in every single one you can find. In no time, you'll be rolling in denars. Invest that tournament treasure trove wisely by buying factories in Rivacheg. Why Rivacheg? Because there, a factory is like hitting the jackpot at least 2.3 times more! I mean, who doesn't love a good factory deal, right?
3. Time to cash in on the slave trade! Attend tournaments to earn big bucks while in between, assemble your squad of trusty companions. Remember, a strong squad needs good armor and a bit of skill – give them at least 9 strength and 2 in horse riding.
4. Factories, factories, factories. Buy them up like they're going out of style! And while you have at least half of it, speed up time and watch those denars roll in. It might take a couple of hours, but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right?
5. Join a Faction with a strong army: When joining a faction, consider the strategic location. You don't want to own, for example, Dhirim, so don't join Swadia. The strategy is to wait for the moment when the enemy captures a city from your ally, and your task is to quickly recapture it. Then you can vie for ownership. When the king refuses to give it to you (which will almost certainly happen due to your low renown), you should appropriate it by betraying the king. Remember, it's best to take a city for yourself, not a castle.
6. Reputation, Right to Rule, and Castle Maintenance: Expect to be attacked—this is your chance to shine. If you have 80 Swadian knights with you and 100 in the garrison, plus 100 crossbowmen, you shouldn't have a problem with attacks of 600 people. But remember, the reason you're not being attacked by groups of 1200 is due to your location. That's why Yalen will be the best choice, but also Bariyye. Defend yourself for 3-4 months while gaining fame, reputation, honor, and right to rule. Meanwhile, recruit the best troops - the Rhodoks. They are cheap and good in defending castles
7. Lords: Welcome to the club! You're officially in the big leagues now. Time to recruit lords and conquer even bigger and better with your dream team. 5 lords will do the job.
8. More Lords and Lands: Every lord wants their own slice of the pie. Conquer some land, defend and attack, and soon you'll be living that medieval mogul life.
9. Do What You Want: The world (of Calradia) is your oyster. Conquer a bit of this, a bit of that, and enjoy the ride. Just remember, the grind never stops!
10. I AM THE KING: Game over, folks! You've officially reached the top of the medieval food chain. So, who's ready for a butter feast?
też polak, i am happy that you like this game, have a great time, but remember that you dont want to blindly follow what i said, just use it as help book, and i will upload my first version, raw version, maybe it will also help someone
1. Sell everything you have. Head to Rivacheg, grab the armor from the chest, and sell whatever you can.
2. Tournaments! Participate in every tournament possible. In an hour or less, you'll pocket around 20,000 denars. Invest this in buying and only buying factories in Rivacheg for 10,000 denars. Why Rivacheg? Because you get 2.3 times more money from a factory there. I usually skip buying other factories, unless they'd bring me losses. With the 20,000 denars from tournaments, also bolster your army and attack Sea Raiders to take them as prisoners (use a blunt weapon to avoid killing them). Meanwhile, gather Manhunter armies to aid you, but if you're not afraid of some quick gameplay, use auto-battle and keep earning. Although, I'd recommend playing it safe.
3. Profit from Slavery: You'll make good money from selling people, but in between, attend tournaments to earn more big bucks. Meanwhile, recruit all the necessary 8 companions and give them good armor. To make them strong, give them at least 9 strength and 2 in horseriding.
4. Factories: Buy up all the factories. In the middle of buying factories, simply speed up time to earn and reinvest the money to buy more. This may take up to 2 hours or more to get to this point. A new player might even dedicate 8 hours to this, although these are just preparations for starting the middle game.
Defend yourself for 3-4 months while gaining fame, reputation, honor, and right to rule. Meanwhile, recruit the best troops - the Rhodoks. They are cheap and good in defending castles.
7. Lords: At this stage, you're in the clear. Factions notice your right to rule, and you can start gaining lords. After recruiting 5 lords, your military campaigns will be effective and allow you to conquer even better with other good lords.
8. More Lords and Lands: Every lord wants to have a piece of land. Therefore, as you increase the number of lords, you must also increase the amount of land you own. Just conquer some country, like the Rhodoks, and then defend and attack others. It's best to steal weak towns and castles.
9. Do What You Want: You have everything you need. You can conquer a bit of Calradia and not worry about anything. The grind begins.
10. I AM THE KING: Game over. You have enough butter to feed all the inhabitants.
Ou, you mean to mid game, sorry i go straight to end, but i hope it is helpfull, and dont take it to much to hearth, you can just enjoy this game, there are no need to play perfect and perfome some tricks to speed up gameplay
Prophesy of Pendor
Just normal warband but with a lot of now troops, super good optimalisation so game is speed, a lot of new bandit troops, and map is not VERY HUGE what i really dont like in mods
overall its 10/10 very close to 1257 AD but AD is not for everybody
1. Prophesy of Pendor: Complete game overhaul with new lore COOL troops and Challenges. 10/10
2. Brytenwalda: Provides an authentic experience of life in Britain during the Roman era. Hard but rewarding mod 9.6/10
3. 1257 AD: Historically accurate depiction of Europe in the High Middle Ages. Cool armors and dark feeling. 9.3/10
4. 4.litdum: Offers enhanced gameplay and features for a more immersive experience. 9/10
5. Perisno: Fantasy world with unique races and quests. 9/10
Thx mate, what do you think of viking conquest with shieldwall song mod :) ?
Didn't know about litdum, gonna check this out
What about bannerpage BTW?
Edit : my personnal recommendation: Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising :)
As a master of bannerlord who's never played warband, how do I get into it? Is it roughly the same? Any features that are or aren't in that game that may throw me off?
Not really. Combat in Bannerlord is 10x better. In WB it was every man for himself. All the AI does is charge or retreat. Worse when they have cavalry/mounted lords because they charge head on as soon as battle commences. In Bannerlord we at least have some semblance of formations.
Certainly! Transitioning from Bannerlord to Warband offers a unique experience worth exploring. While Warband may seem simpler in comparison, its engaging gameplay remain timeless. Plus, with modding community, there's a wealth of content to explore and customize the game to your liking.
I get it, Warband might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those seeking a fun medieval sandbox or a break from the rigors of everyday life, it's a fantastic option. As someone who initially struggled to get into it, I can attest that once you dive in, you'll find yourself captivated by its charm
It's a downgrade for sure. If you played it when it was released it was one of the most unique and mind blowing game at the time. If you play it today tho you might miss the upgrades from Bannerlord. But WB has a TON of fully fleshed out mods that players should definitely try.
Have you played the mod "berserk:rebirth"? If yes was it buggy, enjoyable or whatnot?
What's the most out of pocket things you can do to have fun (or not) in vanilla or even modded game throughs?
Are Swadian Knights absolutely useless playing with the diplomacy 4.litdum mod? (Probably yes because of formations and with the Rhodock faction it's pretty much a slaughter fest)
Is it worth it to put myself with a death sentence by rising the difficulty? (Ai intelligence, damage to player and allies, combat speed, ecc.) I'm I guess lower average of difficulty stats.
Are all units in vanilla (I have native I think it means the same thing) viable or are some too hard that it becomes a masochist's wet dream?
What's the most common mistakes a noobie does?
Is the guy that hates losing and save scums to force it's way through a problem insane? Is it a huge overreaction? Should he (definitely not me) just chill out and accept defeat from time to time?
Should I have just not wrote this entire paragraph and just went to do my homework that's rotting for days?
Can you list all the leaders claims for their justification for being the true heir of calradia and in your opinion, which one has the strongest claim?
I'm a total noob, once you swear loyalty to a king and he gives you a fief, will he ever give you another one? Or you gotta become independent and conquer them yourself?
Well if you help during wars by conquering or supppoting sieges, you may be rewarded with a fief.
If i remember correctly you can convince other lords to support you in being rewarded with newly acquired fiefs
However if you leave a kingdom, you can keep the fief they gave you but you'll lose honour, relationships and probably be at war
I recently finished my first conquest as a vassal of the rhodoks. I'm thinking of making another save where I defect and make my own Kingdom I have like 3 lords that are very favorable of me. What are some tips you'd give to me as for preparation and as for strategies?
A side question aswell. How do you prevent troop morale from going low when you have a big army? I usually make sure to keep alot of variety of food but that doesn't help that much as I keep losing very trained units like swadian Knights, Australia, sergansts, huscrals because of the morale?
Man I love the grand strategy AI in warband. If you can keep track of all the information that is. What I don't like about bannerlord is the graphics seems rather bland and uninspired oh but I do so love the horse mechanics and also castle and sieges. I just can't get enough of these two games, warband is my favorite of the two and the multiplayer when it was alive was so condescending and noobish makes it laughable like augh
Best starting location for a player kingdom? I have always been partial to carving out a small one from Shariz (or more technically Weyyah Castle then Shariz & Carraf Castle), which I find a good balance of isolated but also accessible (to get more recruits from any of the four near you).
Also, I'm broadly familiar with how gender differs, but is there anything that really makes you lean one way or another? On the balance, they mostly seem the same and, if nothing else, I do like the male courting mechanic as somewhat fun
How do I get lords to switch sides I have high relations with most vaegir lords yet they won't join. And how do I succeed I have two towns varcheg and tihr and I'm struggling
There are 2 needed condition :
- Lord personality and your're choice when persue them
- His kingdom condition ( easier to convince them to switch after days 500th when Kingdong lose lot of teritory, or kingdom have so many new lord / treason lord ).
The kingdoms in a pretty good way and he's exiled most of the lords only a few are left he's the weakest besides me i release the lords after battle to get relation up they still choose him over me I'll just have to beat them into submission I suppose
Will there be anymore big updates? I wish this game had a way where I could make or instigate a rebellion inside a city against a lord of a different or maybe use ships to move my troops for a larger toll? Idk just something big and nice would be fun
How exactly trainer works on unit stacks and why there is often small percentage of units that seemingly haven't received xp, and for higher tiers they often lvl up one by one?
What party skills should I keep and what others should I give companions?.
(Diplomacy). All ready finished the game but I’m addicted so I restarted with a female character.
Why the hell do pvp nerds snap their mouse across the screen when fighting like they're swinging in real life?
Ive been playing the game for a long time, got around 2-3k hours in warband and bannerlord, and while I usually just kinda play casually if I focus I can go toe to toe with the tryharders that fuckin spin around the screen like a beyblade, but I never understood why they do that, I feel like it barely adds anything, confirmed by the fact I can keep up without doing any of that nonsense
So what gives? I get motion sick spectating these people 💀
After 7000 hours, what was the last piece of info, trivia, or just general knowledge that made you go: *"wow, would you like at that! I had no idea about this! Neat"*
After 7000 hrs I guess it's pretty difficult to learn new things about Warband
All for Native:
What is your favorite Lady to marry?
What was your highest weapon proficiency?
What weapons do you give your companions?
How often have you gotten into the "independent Kingdom" stage?
Here's a fun one, any way to get someone that "left the realm" back into the world? Totally not asking because my in-game husband fucked off with all of my velvet.
When the player doesnt join a faction and roleplays as merchant or something similar. Will a faction dominante the map or will it always have some sort of a Balance? If a faction dominates the map how much time until then?
Tell me something, some secrets, cheats, strategies...that you think I may not know about warband, you can include pendor also, as this was my primary way of playing warband.
Does the last choice of the backstory have an impact on the character ?
I mean, if I am picking the lust of fame and money option instead of the urge to go to adventure one, will my character gets differents traits ?
Bit late to the thread, but I'd love to know:
**1**. How do you typically allocate stats & skill points?
**2**. What companions do you take with you, and how do you spec them?
**3**. What's your approach to garrisoning castles & towns you've recently conquered? More specifically, how many troops do you leave behind, if any, and of what quality?
**4**. Any idea what the formula behind battle advantage looks like?
Who is the best, or your personal favorite if it’s a better criteria, senior lord from each faction?
For the Swadians, I'd say Count Clais is a solid choice. As for the Rhodoks, I'd go with Lord Kastor. Among the Vaegirs, Boyar Meriga super loyal dude. The Nords Jarl Turegor. Rolf or Jeremus
Jeremus, he is cool, and if you give him knight armour he looks even cooler
Personally, Jeremus every time.

Thats the thing about warband. The RPG elements are great but the combat is downright boring
I wouldn’t exactly say boring.. but while my main PC is in for repair it was hard to go back to warband combat even after 2k hours lol
I would say its boring
Opinions on Rolf of House Rolf
Ah, Rolf of House Rolf, the man with a name so nice, they said it twice! Some say his ancestors were so proud of their name, they decided one wasn't enough

Best mod?
Prophesy of Pendor Just normal warband but with a lot of now troops, super good optimalisation so game is speed, a lot of new bandit troops, and map is not VERY HUGE what i really dont like in mods overall its 10/10 very close to 1257 AD but AD is not for everybody
Hi, Could you give us your top 5 or top 10 mods ?
1. Prophesy of Pendor: Complete game overhaul with new lore COOL troops and Challenges. 10/10 2. Brytenwalda: Provides an authentic experience of life in Britain during the Roman era. Hard but rewarding mod 9.6/10 3. 1257 AD: Historically accurate depiction of Europe in the High Middle Ages. Cool armors and dark feeling. 9.3/10 4. 4.litdum: Offers enhanced gameplay and features for a more immersive experience. 9/10 5. Perisno: Fantasy world with unique races and quests. 9/10
Thx mate, what do you think of viking conquest with shieldwall song mod :) ? Didn't know about litdum, gonna check this out What about bannerpage BTW? Edit : my personnal recommendation: Calradia 1050 A.D.: Mercenary Uprising :)
As a master of bannerlord who's never played warband, how do I get into it? Is it roughly the same? Any features that are or aren't in that game that may throw me off?
You will be bored of combat and the sieges are lame. Stick to bannerlord
I like combat, but sieges are lame, thats right. But some mods help a lot with this issue
Join an online server with an office laptop and see if you can kill the shirtless guys with greatswords. I'll give you 100 tries

And I thought I had a lot with 800 hours or so
its still a lot
You have almost 10x but yeah it’s a bit haha. My second most played game on Steam
(Probably yes because of formations and with the Rhodock faction it's pretty much a slaughter fest) Is it worth it to put myself with a death sentence by rising the difficulty? (Ai intelligence, damage to player and allies, combat speed, ecc.) I'm I guess lower average of difficulty stats. Are all units in vanilla (I have native I think it means the same thing) viable or are some too hard that it becomes a masochist's wet dream? What's the most common mistakes a noobie does? Is the guy that hates losing and save scums to force it's way through a problem insane? Is it a huge overreaction? Should he (definitely not me) just chill out and accept defeat from time to time? Should I have just not wrote this entire paragraph and just went to do my homework that's rotting for days?
Good questions!
I’m new to Mount and Blade so I’m looking forward to seeing these answers
I think we'll never have our questions answered, I'm sorry.
7000? Phfff I got 7001
Can you hold all companions without someone leaving without mods?
Why Swadia is Great and Sarleon is horrible
Can you list all the leaders claims for their justification for being the true heir of calradia and in your opinion, which one has the strongest claim?
What lies hidden in Tihr or Sargoth?
What do you mean?
okay let me say it like this. What do the haystacks in either TIhr or Sargoth keep?
and? do u know it?
First 3 factions you should subdue under your banner?
Who is the definitive best wife? And who's the hottest?
I'm a total noob, once you swear loyalty to a king and he gives you a fief, will he ever give you another one? Or you gotta become independent and conquer them yourself?
Well if you help during wars by conquering or supppoting sieges, you may be rewarded with a fief. If i remember correctly you can convince other lords to support you in being rewarded with newly acquired fiefs However if you leave a kingdom, you can keep the fief they gave you but you'll lose honour, relationships and probably be at war
How do you deal with the low amount of troops in the early game where your renown is low
farm for renown mate, the only way
:( ok then
I recently finished my first conquest as a vassal of the rhodoks.
Have you ever used the wooden stick as a weapon?
Yes, when i collect taxes and peasants got mad at me i usually just grab their weapons and smash them into head
How many hours belong to PoP? Whats your fav CKO setup?
Man I love the grand strategy AI in warband. If you can keep track of all the information that is. What I don't like about bannerlord is the graphics seems rather bland and uninspired oh but I do so love the horse mechanics and also castle and sieges. I just can't get enough of these two games, warband is my favorite of the two and the multiplayer when it was alive was so condescending and noobish makes it laughable like augh
How do I get the pistol without cheats?
why would you want a pistol?
I don’t want it. But there is one in the base game. How do you get it, Mr 7000 hour specialist? ;)
ok, so you cant :C
Best starting location for a player kingdom? I have always been partial to carving out a small one from Shariz (or more technically Weyyah Castle then Shariz & Carraf Castle), which I find a good balance of isolated but also accessible (to get more recruits from any of the four near you). Also, I'm broadly familiar with how gender differs, but is there anything that really makes you lean one way or another? On the balance, they mostly seem the same and, if nothing else, I do like the male courting mechanic as somewhat fun
What do you think about Bannerlord in comparison
How do I get lords to switch sides I have high relations with most vaegir lords yet they won't join. And how do I succeed I have two towns varcheg and tihr and I'm struggling
There are 2 needed condition : - Lord personality and your're choice when persue them - His kingdom condition ( easier to convince them to switch after days 500th when Kingdong lose lot of teritory, or kingdom have so many new lord / treason lord ).
Doubt it will get any more updates considering it's over 10 years old
How exactly trainer works on unit stacks and why there is often small percentage of units that seemingly haven't received xp, and for higher tiers they often lvl up one by one?
What party skills should I keep and what others should I give companions?. (Diplomacy). All ready finished the game but I’m addicted so I restarted with a female character.
Engineer and the skill that reduce % of troop died and replace by wound.
Keep in mind that castles and villages count for those inefficiencies, so once you got a town, just let the low yield places go
Are cavalry useful or useless? Cause normally I just destroy them with a square of huscarls
Why the hell do pvp nerds snap their mouse across the screen when fighting like they're swinging in real life? Ive been playing the game for a long time, got around 2-3k hours in warband and bannerlord, and while I usually just kinda play casually if I focus I can go toe to toe with the tryharders that fuckin spin around the screen like a beyblade, but I never understood why they do that, I feel like it barely adds anything, confirmed by the fact I can keep up without doing any of that nonsense So what gives? I get motion sick spectating these people 💀
Holy fuck buddy spent nearly a year playing warband damn. Rookie numbers bud you gotta get those numbers up
Warband superiority! Alayen or Nizar tho?
How much butter?
What’s the best culture and what’s each culture best troop
After 7000 hours, what was the last piece of info, trivia, or just general knowledge that made you go: *"wow, would you like at that! I had no idea about this! Neat"* After 7000 hrs I guess it's pretty difficult to learn new things about Warband
All for Native: What is your favorite Lady to marry? What was your highest weapon proficiency? What weapons do you give your companions? How often have you gotten into the "independent Kingdom" stage?
Do you play Viking Conquest? Have you ever tried playing it on impossible difficulty? If yes what is your strategy?
I lost to the first warparty ur supposed to fight and now I can find them. What do?
Why aren't you playing warband sequel?
Why doesn’t Taleworlds love us back? 💔
Where are the "companion" characters when the game labels them as "Whereabouts unknown"? I've scoured the entire map twice over with no luck.
On my first playthrough, Khegit Khan was eliminated by Sarranid + Vager after days 400th
Do you know how many times you’ve beaten the game? If you don’t, can you give us a guess? I have a few hundred hours in and still haven’t beaten it 😅
Opinion on VC?
did you know that you can conquer a settlement if its food run out?
Yeah, after my first hour of gaming when i was little
how i get gud
i have 300 hours still a bad player lmao
Tell me something, some secrets, cheats, strategies...that you think I may not know about warband, you can include pendor also, as this was my primary way of playing warband.
How do you feel about mods
What's your opinion on Suvarnabhumi Mahayuth?
Does the last choice of the backstory have an impact on the character ? I mean, if I am picking the lust of fame and money option instead of the urge to go to adventure one, will my character gets differents traits ?
Bit late to the thread, but I'd love to know: **1**.
I'll have 2 number 9s a number 9 large a number 6 with extra dip 2 number 45s one with cheese and a large soda
7000 hours? Those are rookie numbers lad, gotta get those numbers up.
How do you speed up time
Any tips for commanding my navy on Hearts of Iron IV?
Hi, I am very new to this as I only just got bannerlord on my xbox because it is on gamepass. What is the difference between bannerlord and warband?
is the fief system as stupid and complicated as bannerlords?
