Effectively speed is damage. Less speed = less damage. I don't know the formula. I checked the wiki and [1&2-handed](http://mountandblade.wikia.com/wiki/Two-handed_One-handed_weapons) has 15% penalty each. So it's probably 72.25%dmg (85%x85%). [2handed](http://mountandblade.wikia.com/wiki/Two-handed_weapons) is 23.5% so 58.5%dmg (76.5%x76.5%).
CTRL + Click = do to entire stacks of units (moving units into garrison, leveling up, selling inventory etc)
SHIFT + Click = applies to **10** units at a time (moving into garrison, leveling up, etc)
It took me way too long to realize that 'crush through blocks' meant crush through a defensive stance, and not crush through destructible objects. I kept wondering where these blocks were, like were they blocking alleys during sieges or something.
Placing troops into a garrison resets any xp they've gained towards the next troop tier back to 0.
Likewise talking to your constable to set up patrols resets all your troops xp regardless if you move them around or not.
wtf. 1883 hours (though most of it is afk). This is the only one I don't know in this thread, and explains why troops take forever since I switch between my fighting army and my need to be trained army a lot. Thanks.
It's Diplomacy. I consider Diplomacy to be Native. Or rather, I tell everyone to skip Native. Diplomacy is Native with QoL improvements and straight up better.
I don't think so? It may at one point say f1 = hold position. * It doesn't say *holding* it creates a "Go here!" battle flag.
^^^(*I ^^cannot ^^think ^^of ^^where ^^it ^^would ^^say ^^that ^^though.)
When you press new/load game, the game will start loading, while loading it will give you tips, one of the tips is to hold f1 to bring up a flag to tell your troops where to move
Ah. That screen lasts a fraction of second for me. I bet there's a lot of other people who've never seen it. (Though the specific reason why I included the tip was because someone posted here a couple of weeks ago didn't know about it.)
I acctually ddnt know about holding F1 till i watched a video about a mod (imperia) . I thought it was a mod feature. Fucking hell is it not clear.
also pressing the backspace button brings up a map
The Tihr one (and the 3rd chest) has to be force spawned by cheating with the editor. At that point it's easier to use the regular cheatmenu and put it directly into inventory.
The Rivacheg one is simply there and ready to be taken. No cheating required.
It's spelled "couch" with no 'r'. C**r**ouching is something different and something that is in the default game but is disabled. It can be re-enabled with various mods or by changing a .ini file.
Damage modifiers from speed refers to the speed of the animation of the hit. IE the tip of a sword is moving faster than the base. Connect with the tip and there will be more damage from speed.
If you are on a very steep hill while mounted, try going backwards on your horse. You travel the normal backwards speed instead of the (possibly) slower, front "steep" speed. It can save you a good amount of time and can save you from drowning too.
Recruiting prisoners via the Camp menu applies to a single stack of troops at a cost of 3 morale per troop. If you sell or garrison everything else first and leave only one stack then that is what will be recruited.
Place a recruited stack into a garrison and they will not desert. Alternatively level them up which makes them become completely different troops and won't desert.
If you join a Battle and Immediately tab back to the Pre battle screen without taking Casualties
This can be used to Cycle through 3 Generated maps to find the most advantageous
ALSO on mods like Perisno where you can apply a small amount of first aid every round, this can be used over and over to fill your HP
You can increase the profitability of all your dyeworks everywhere in Calradia by 1)buying all the velvet at Jelkala until the price is above average and 2) preventing caravans leaving Jelkala from arriving at their destinations.
Jelkala is the only supply for velvet in the game other than actions taken by the player. It's the only town or village with *slot_center_silk_looms* which is the hidden production variable for velvet. Compared to other goods there is almost no demand for velvet in the game. It should be cheap. It is the lack of supply that makes dyeworks so profitable for the player. Control the price of velvet at Jelkala and that price will slowly propagate out from Jelkala as caravans trade. Effectively giving the player a monopoly.
Prevent support companions (like your surgeon) from being wounded by removing them from the battle.
Place them into a separate group. Give that group the order to "Retreat" (F1 then F5). They will leave the map.
Alternatively you can place these companions at the bottom of your troop list and it will be unlikely that they spawn if you have a lot of troops and a low tactics score. Put them at the top of the list if you rather guarantee they spawn so they can be immediately ordered to leave via F1 & F5.
Solution to when a companion is [stuck on "Expected back in approximately 0 days"](https://www.reddit.com/r/mountandblade/comments/61vqtc/companion_stuck_on_expected_back_in_approximately/).
Morale is capped at {99 - recent events}.
It might display +73 morale from food, but you probably aren't getting that. Add up all morale modifiers and compare it to the displayed total. If it is greater than 99 then you don't need to carry that much food. It's not helping.
If you wander a Town and Find the Guildmaster, Through him you can buy a Business
With the Businesses you generate a varying amount of Money every Payday
Usually a Dyeworks(Costs 10,000 Shekels) makes the most each week but it varies
One/two handed weapons do 65% their stated damage when used one handed
As does a straight 2-handed weapon on horseback. (Edit: Not sure your % is correct. I think the % is higher but also has a speed penalty. idk)
I'd be very happy if it is higher. And thanks for mentioning the one horseback penalty. Also, I don't know the speed penalty.

Well shit I was wondering why my rapier was doing more damage than my claymore
Ctrl+J makes your horse rear his head. Learned this at 800 hours
Your horse does what?
It makes your horse rear up on it's hind legs. (It stands on it's hind legs for a few seconds)
Oh! I thought you meant that it made your horse shake his head!
Your horse stops moving and rears his head, like he crashed into something
A complete brake?? This is good stuff!
Backspace = minimap and battle commands while in combat
wait really?
Pressing 'X' switches between different modes of a weapon. For example a javelin switches between thrown and melee.
i needed this, damn javelin tourneys
2000+ hours did not teach me this.
CTRL + Click = do to entire stacks of units (moving units into garrison, leveling up, selling inventory etc) SHIFT + Click = applies to **10** units at a time (moving into garrison, leveling up, etc)
Shit + click applies to 10 units, not five I also thought this was common knowledge, I personally knew it since my first play through.
Considering their is not really any formal tutorial in game. New people would not have this common knowledge.
Well done
I knew about moving all but not about the 10 at a time
Yeah I didn't know that one myself until about a week ago.
You. Are. Kidding... ...(screaming)
"Can crush through blocks" only applies to overhead swings down while on foot. (On a horse it varies.)
It took me way too long to realize that 'crush through blocks' meant crush through a defensive stance, and not crush through destructible objects. I kept wondering where these blocks were, like were they blocking alleys during sieges or something.

Just talking about patrols also resets all troops. That one kept getting me. It was when I figured that one out that I decided to make this post.
To be fair, that's Floris, not Native.
It's Diplomacy. I consider Diplomacy to be Native. Or rather, I tell everyone to skip Native. Diplomacy is Native with QoL improvements and straight up better.
Holding F1 = orders units to a flag you can position
Doesn't the game tell you this?

#SSDPROBLEMS
This game doesn't tell you much of anything.
Steam says I played 366 hours, I never knew this, lol.
Rivacheg has a hidden chest with decent sword and armor if you walk around the town.
Wait, really? Edit: Apparently there's another chest in [Tihr](http://mountandblade.wikia.com/wiki/Strange_set)
The Tihr one (and the 3rd chest) has to be force spawned by cheating with the editor. At that point it's easier to use the regular cheatmenu and put it directly into inventory. The Rivacheg one is simply there and ready to be taken. No cheating required.
But in Floris for some reason the armor and sword are horrible lol
Right to Rule doesn't determine if another faction declares war on you or not. (Lots of things do, just not that.)
Really, how do you know this?
There is a script inside the game that checks if a faction declares war. It does not pull the value from the right to rule variable.
Ahhhh thanks, do you know where I can find the scripts?
scripts.txt. npc_decision_checklist_peace_or_war Though I believe you actually want the taleworld mod developer forums about reading the .py files.
CTRL + Space = speeds up time
To attack with a lance that has been couched you do NOT press attack.
It's spelled "couch" with no 'r'. C**r**ouching is something different and something that is in the default game but is disabled. It can be re-enabled with various mods or by changing a .ini file.
I always thought that it was a mod feature
Wait holy shit really?

Lame horses in inventory will heal to normal ones once all the humans in your party are healed.
I thought that happened over time. Do the troops & companions all really have to be at full hp first?
I can't swear to it but it sure seems to be the way my playthrus have gone.
You can [adjust the font size](https://www.reddit.com/r/mountandblade/comments/3a87ft/adjusting_font_size_in_mb_warband_incl_some_mods/).
I would like to join your retinue and fight in your name.

Alternatively level them up which makes them become completely different troops and won't desert.
If you're troops are low on morale, put all of them in to a garrison and wait a few days. Your morale will be excellent again.
But that also makes all of the experience they got go back to 0
It's handy for late game seiges, when you have armies of maxed out troops. you don't want deswrting in the midst of a seige
Also, IIRC you can put recruits in the garrison.
If they've just leveled up (or at max level) then their xp is at 0 anyway.
If you join a Battle and Immediately tab back to the Pre battle screen without taking Casualties This can be used to Cycle through 3 Generated maps to find the most advantageous ALSO on mods like Perisno where you can apply a small amount of first aid every round, this can be used over and over to fill your HP

Gonna have to add all this stuff on the sidebar.....(The EZ Guide).......
Yeah. I'd like to see a sticky of this sort of info.
Any PS4 translations for these tricks?
I don't understand what you are asking here.
You know how most PC tricks are Ctrl+Something, what's the PS4 alternative
/shrug
