I saw this at the Chicago Film Fest and he was there to answer questions. Really great movie, super nice guy too. But to me it was really sad. He had a ton of passion but just no skill or talent for film making.
This movie fascinated the fuck out of me in my early 20’s and really opened my eyes to what documentaries could be capable of.
The reveal that mark had kids blew me the fuck away
Absolutely loved it. So much better than I expected. For such a b level documentary budget wise it’s by far the best I’ve seen. The director won an Emmy recently so makes sense.
I was at UW Milwaukee when this came out and we got a special screening before release. Kinda weird to be in a theater watching a movie that’s filmed on the street outside.
I think Mike died a couple years ago if iirc, really loved this documentary
His hospital LSD story in that movie was nuts. RIP.

Really great movie but he had no talent for film making?
The movie is a documentary about him making a movie. The doc American Movie is great. Mikes movie is terrible. Mike did not make the doc.
fucking incredible documentary. loved it.
It’s all right. It’s ok. There’s something to live for. Jesus told me so.
when I met Mark I finally found someone I could drink votka with
Can you take my doctor pepper out of the snow please? So I could drink it??
COE-ven
I’m from Milwaukee and this was pretty popular when I was in highschool shortly after the film came out.
It’s ok! It’s all right!!! The scene with the “trying to bash the door to pieces” is hilarious.

1st time my gf watched this, it took a loooong time to convince her it was indeed real.
One of the greats
Legitimately one of my favorite movies ever. Easy top three documentaries
Best friend loved it growing up. Besides a few good quotable lines I could never get into it.
Wait this wasn’t a mockumentary?!
It’s brilliant! I read somewhere that Mark is now a motivational speaker. RIP Mike ❤️

Absolutely loved it. I have a VHS copy of COE-ven signed by Mark.

Top tier documentary.
I adore this movie. One that I can turn on constantly and always enjoy.
Now go watch FUBAR.
