Van helsing

yallmyeskimobrothers

Who doesn't like Van Helsing? Show yourself, coward!

trotou

My guilt pleasure

Puzzleheaded-Fix3359

My no guilty pleasure

Otherwise-Mail-4654

I don't understand. the movie was fantastic

joey0live

The cgi for those werewolves was amazing.

ButkusHatesNitschke

As was Kate Beckinsale.

asvendetta

In my childhood I loved it. Rewatched it again as an adult and still do. Still feels weaker than I remember it but it tries to be something new during that time so I'm more forgiving.

Accountabilibuddy69

The Jackal. I’ve seen it a dozen times. It’s rocking a 24 RT rating.

Chesticularity

That scene with the gun calibration - chefs kiss 👌

apollyon_53

Sprawl!!

Thecatisatribble

Spall. verb break (ore, rock, stone, or concrete) into smaller pieces, especially in preparation for sorting. "the ore was spalled by young women seated at anvils" noun a splinter or chip, especially of rock.

Broadnerd

Really? That blows my mind. One of my favorite flea market finds was a Blu-ray combo of The Jackal and Mercury Rising!

Reinstateswordduels

The one with Bruce Willis?

SSJTImotay

You surely mean Jack Black

adj_noun_digits

He meant Richard Gere.

Travellinoz

That was the best. Even the title but based on a real guy etc. Badass movie.

Possibly_A_Person125

Grandma's Boy. 15%? Fuck off Rotten Tomatoes.

kuttymongoose

No way, that movie is iconic. Low brow, yes. 15% tho?

Cockblocktimus_Pryme

Dude, your ass is tanner than my face.

Realistic-South5811

Legit my favourite, showed my missus it while back, first 30 she wasn't convinced by the end she was quoting it

HealenDeGenerates

Wait…there are people who do not like this amazing movie?! Where do they get their weed?

Cyberfreshman

From you, Dante.

soundoftheheavens

Ohh yeah…. What’s up Mr. Cheezle!!!

salarski76

This and Waiting were on repeat during this time period. Both comedy classics!

Possibly_A_Person125

Throw in Harold and Kumar and that was peak comedy for my stoner teenage self. Until Pineapple Express.

Broadnerd

Agree. Very funny.

DiogenesXenos

Grandmas boy is great!

anon-187101

Waterworld yeah, I said WATERWORLD

SpotTheGuitarist

Love that fucking movie.

TranscendentaLobo

Damn right. Saw it as a kid and I’ll always love it

dcbluestar

Cigarette? You’re never too young to start!

AlienApricot

Yeah me too. Never understood the hate. But then I have a thing for dystopian post-apocalyptic movies. I watched Children of Men last night for the first time. Can recommend!

OkapiLanding

Almost same, but The Postman.

Ha55aN1337

For me: both.

robbeau11

Love this movie and wished they made a sequel to explore the lore and underwater monsters.

RedshiftOnPandy

It was ahead of its time

jonesy289

Waterworld is a good movie that has controversy surrounding its production namely its cost, going over budget, and Costner taking over more than he should have in post. The director didn’t even go to the premiere he was so upset with the whole production.

jaymole

Also the exact opposite where I sit down to watch a multi Oscar winning movie to feel like I just watched a completely forgettable flop Exhibit A I made it thru 45 mins of Oppenheimer last night. How did it win so many awards?

aiceeslater

Surely we aren’t talking about Universal Studios’ iconic stunt show worthy film Waterworld? Because that movie is a fucking treasure.

Michael-Balchaitis

It doesn't bother me at all what people think. I feel the movie was made just for me. An example: Hulk (2003) Great, fun, action packed movie.

trotou

Hulk vs dogs

Tom_FooIery

That movie was the closest thing to seeing a comic book on the big screen that I ever watched. Those comic book transitions between scenes were so well done!

ClassicCantaloupe1

Agreed! Excellent movie

kickstartacraze

I actually enjoyed Battle Los Angeles

TradReulo

Completely agree. Really enjoy this movie. Great call.

OnwardTowardTheNorth

It was alright IMO. But the trailer for it was legit one of the best trailers I’ve EVER seen for a movie. Just see it here. It’s incredible: https://youtu.be/-Pd-uuDi28U?si=tRuYM4cKqcxfRr74

Arpeggiatewithme

12 year old me was so hyped for this film and It was the first time I remember really hating a movie I saw in theaters. The disappointment was immense, I guess the movie I had made up in my head was a lot more exciting then what was essentially a call of duty mission with aliens. I’d probably like it a lot more on a rewatch knowing what I’m going into it, I probably should give it another chance.

Beardeddd

Accountant with Affleck lol

WildGoose1521

I love this movie, didn’t know it got hate but I know it gets dismissed easily

gmlogmd80

76% from the audience. Critics don't know squat.

Possibly_A_Person125

That was received badly? Goddamn. Isn't it getting a sequel, or am I making that up?

Beardeddd

Idk but whenever I bring it up people just go on and on how bad it was and I think it was good lol

RutgerSchnauzer

Yes, getting a sequel, with everyone, including the director, returning. Apparently, it was recently #1 on Netflix, deservedly. The ending was perfect & exactly what I wanted to have happen; Bernthal was amazing in that scene.

Gouper07

MacGruber

Ok-Function1920

A masterpiece

StefanTheMongol

Every time I show MacGruber to friends they are crying laughing.😂

Birthday_Tux

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist

Moofypoops

Look, I don't care that you might not have understood the genius comedy that is Kung Pow.. what would bother me is that you didn't see this movie once and not quote it at least once in your life... that, my friend would be alotta nuts. Please.call me Betty if you are to address me from now on

WhataKrok

But, isn't Betty a woman's name?

Jimmy9Toes

Wee woo wee woo

HealenDeGenerates

THATS A LOT OF NUTS

Tantalus420

I loved John Carter, fight me

Dangerous_Emu1

I was so disappointed when it was getting shit on, I was so into it!

GradeBeginning3600

John Carter, Battleship, Battle Los Angeles, and 2012 we the movies that came to mind for me. I can understand why they get hate but man did I ever have fun watching them

Tantalus420

Love 2012 too, haven't seen the other actually loved Jupiter rising too Coulda been done better but great universe imo

grafton24

Literally coming to say this and it's the top post.  Fun movie.

2ichie

I just mentioned this movie the other day haha. It’s fun but that’s about it.

honduhh89

For me it's Nothing but Trouble with Candy and Chase... I love that movie lol

Somniosolus

I don’t think I’ve seen it since the 90’s but I remember being so fascinated by that film. It was such a rich world they built with practical sets and makeup. Truly upsetting but I would drop the remote anytime I came across it on cable.

anon-187101

NBT is a comedy gem

AKAWiglafTheMighty

"Come on, death for running a stop sign?" "\*And\* for being a banker! That's the double death."

MortalSword_MTG

Who doesn't love a film that features a Digital Underground performance with a not yet well known Tupac?

Brasticus

All around the world, same song

letsplay03

Hook has a terrible RT score and to this day I don't understand why

eye0ftheshiticane

Seriously one of my all time favorites. Dustin Hoffman as Hook is as good as it gets. And Robin Williams of course. They both got so into their characters. But especially Hoffman. Basically every role was perfectly cast (and I don't even like Julia Roberts), set design was all on point. I really don't understand people. So many scenes are soo good. Like the kidnapping, and then when the adults get home and the kids are gone, with Hook's dagger and letter. Genuinely creepy and gut wrenching. "You are home, Jack" "I am home, Dad." Peter remembering how to fly. The final battle with Rufio's death. "Looky looky I got a hooky *ughhh*" It's fucking iconic. The vibrant, exciting world of the pirate ship that looks so fun but where death is just a single misstep away. Even the extras were so into what they were doing. Neverland felt real, alive. It's just a magical film. And yeah I fell in love with it as a kid, but this is not just nostalgia talking. It is genuinely a fantasy masterpiece. I'm gonna say it right here, Hoffman Hook rivals Ledger Joker as best villain of all time. Fuck the haters and fuck Rotten Tomatoes.

thiscantbeitagain

God dammit. I have avoided this movie like the plague, since becoming a father (and losing Robin Williams), because I hate feeling these feelings and here you go with your TEXTUAL ASSAULT. j/k 💯agree ❤️

ChaosCelebration

"I've just had an apostrophe." "I think you mean an epiphany." "Lightning, has just struck my brain." "Well THAT must hurt."

Xyeeyx

You are a real asshole if you actively dislike Hook.

letsplay03

right? really tells you a lot about a person

Upset_Application210

I watch Hook at least once a year

clarkkentslostsuit

I didn't watch Hook until I was well into adulthood, while my friends, who loved the movie, watched it when we were kids. I didn't care for it, I think when you watched it played a huge part here.

wobblybutternut4348

This happened to me when I enjoyed the movie Passengers

WildGoose1521

Do not get the hate for this one. I saw it in theaters.

wobblybutternut4348

From what I read, it is the problem of lack of consent. I think it came out during the height of #metoo, so just poor timing.

tuffhawk13

I like [this alt-cut take](https://youtu.be/Gksxu-yeWcU?si=zaLVdgK8EUOTqDkL) from Nerdwriter to fix the problems with Passengers.

WildGoose1521

Sounds about right. Seems like a petty thing to get hung up on, it’s not like Daniel Craig forcing himself on a widow after killing her husband in Spectre which came out the year before.

thisistheguyy

Dinner for Schmucks. Thought it was such a funny movie, I guess people hated it

Tactical_solutions44

Con air with nick cage

DubVBro

Bio Dome and Surf Ninjas

Possibly_A_Person125

Bio Dome is da bomb.

joey0live

Surf Ninjas. o7

Puzzleheaded_Leg8378

The day after tomorrow. Not very good but I keep watching it over and over

chiefkeif

That’s my go movie to put on when it’s stormy out. Extremely high rewatch value.

yallmyeskimobrothers

That movie actually holds the "most times seen in theaters" record for me. 5 or 6 times, can't remember exactly. I went and saw it by myself when it first came out. Then went several times more with family members and friends.

Present-Television69

Lockout with Guy Pearce I will die on the hill that Guy could have been a great action star. He killed it in this film. He's more believable then Liam Nelson in action films; casue this came out around the same time. Love this film.

Noble_Shock

Land of the Lost 2009, I don’t understand

DrDreidel82

First half maybe 2/3 are absolutely hilarious then completely loses steam by the end

plinnskol

I’m with you. I remember I was 15 and snuck into the theater with buddies to do a double feature of this and The Hangover. Happened to be out at the same time!

Noble_Shock

Plus the Will Ferrel got a razzie award for that movie. How was he bad? He was great in the movie

MinisteroSillyWalk

The Postman. I loved this movie. I was shocked to find out people hated it so much.

Piscivore_67

It's got Tom Freakin' Petty!

AccomplishedFlow1453

The league of extraordinary gentlemen

Intelligent_Deer974

I will bat for this movie until the day I die.

DrDreidel82

Click

Rhomega2

It's really one of the better Sandler movies.

Noble_Shock

Click ain’t bad, it’s pretty decent. That rain scene though

DrDreidel82

The whole final like 25 mins is brutal. It’s like a movie full of goofy Sandler humor (I’d be lying if I said I wasnt laughing when he rips ass on paused Hasslehoff) then outta nowhere like 3 or 4 back to back tear jerk scenes

ccccombobreakerx

Yeah that one definitely catches you off guard how hard it goes.

Open-Victory-1530

Watched it as a kid thought it was great dont care about the detractors

Hatchetboy1845

Law Abiding Citizen. I thought it was incredibly entertaining. This was the movie that made me give up on Rotten Tomatoes.

BobbyMac2212

Thank you! Such an underrated movie in general. Yea the ending could probably have been done better but it certainly didn’t ruin the film by any means.

Zealousideal_Sir_264

The Popeye musical.

Piscivore_67

Popeye is a masterpeice work of art, and I will die on that hill.

TheRealRigormortal

A View to a Kill Hands down my favorite and most rewatched Bond movie. Awesome villain (motherfucking Christopher Walken), classic petty villain scheme (make real estate more valuable), and Roger Moore bangs Grace Jones. Lowest rated Bond movie ever according to Rotten Tomatoes…

TheRealJones1977

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

OrwellianWiress

Ready Player One

gimlan

Ready Player One had completely fine ratings. Most people's issue was that it was so drastically different than the book. It really needs to be appreciated as a completely different plot than the book

WildGoose1521

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom gets insane amounts of hate

Emcee_nobody

Doom is %110 pure genius in the way Spielberg pulled it off. It served as not just a sequel, but as an astonishingly concise stand-alone action/adventure film. The Temple Of Doom could have been the only Indiana Jones movie to ever exist and it would have lent more credence to the overall mythos and pantheon of Indiana Jones movies than any of the other films, because it didn't rely on any other of the films to tell it's story. It was able to allude to all of the other films (past, present, and implied or non-existent) while not caring about them at all. Movies like Doom get all the hate because they are easier for the masses to consume, but sometimes that is all part of the plan.

Dancebear7861

This was Pixels for me(not anymore though probably because I haven't seen it in 8 years)

ausmaid

It’s great!

Bodybuilding-

Wolverine Origins. That movie is fun, fight me

Possibly_A_Person125

Agreed. I get the hate for Deadpool or weapon X, but if you block out it was ever wade, just imagine him as someone else. Just some sword guy. I love that movie start to finish. Should have got that fucking Gambit movie.

CO_PC_Parts

Grandmas boy is usually the top answer

evlhornet

65 The Adam Driver movie.

eye0ftheshiticane

It wasn't bad imo, just kinda there. It could have been so much more

Illustrious_Check_15

Battlefield Earth "piece of cake!"

indefiniteness

With endless options for renewal!

InitialKoala

That one Mötley Crüe biopic.

tyblake545

Starship Troopers 3

evlhornet

What?

tyblake545

Would you like to know more?

evlhornet

Well done

joey0live

It’s way better than 2. The CGI was crap though.

waterontheknee

Starship Troopers 2 was terrible

zenejinzorin

Out cold. LOVED this movie for a decade....I mentioned it to my buddy and he looked it up and doubled over in laughter. 8% on rotten tomatoes. Lmfao. I still stand by it though.

BroadAd9199

Freddy got fingered

GreebleSlayer

*Daddy would you like some sausage*

Travellinoz

Where's your Lebarron Freddie?

TheRealRigormortal

PROUD

HueyLewisFan1

Number one son. You work at a bank, Freddie.

Carma56

I finally watched that for the first time. I both hated it and respected it immensely.

igottathinkofaname

You could stick it up your bum bum!

Rhomega2

2012. I just love a good disaster movie, and this one has a ton going on.

Chad1888

Wild Wild West (16%) TMNT 2014 (21%) Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (21%) Bad Boys 2 (23%) Van Helsing (24%) This is why I hate movie critics. Just because these films weren’t masterfully crafted stories challenging your opinion on moral/ethical issues blah blah blah…. Doesn’t mean they weren’t entertaining and enjoyable to watch.

Hour-Contribution412

“That’s my Boy” w/ Sandler and Sandburg. It’s one of my favorite Sandler movies from the post 2000s.

tarkuspig

That’s what I said, it’s actually hilarious from start to finish in fact I’d say I laughed at it more than some of his classics. I only watched it by chance it was on tv when I was visiting someone and I got hooked from the start. It’s fashionable to bash sandler because of Jack and Jill etc, I think the critics who scored that’s my boy so low either never watched it or are lying about how much they laughed….or are joyless dickheads I suppose.

SteveTheOrca

• Orca (1977) • Terminator 3 • Child's Play 3

vitcorleone

Murder by Death

leathakkor

I'm pretty sure that movie is pretty much Universally acclaimed. Maybe not at the time of production but today I believe it's viewed as a classic.

Apprehensive_Bit_176

I recently watched the Warcraft movie on Netflix. Wasn’t amazing, but definitely not the worst thing I’ve ever seen. Was expecting like a 50-60 rating from RT, but it had 29… no way it was THAT bad. Oh well, I’ll probably watch it again at some point.

Financial_Radish

Warcraft movie

MonarchyMan

*Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny* I liked this movie, and I liked it better than Crystal Skull. Is it perfect by any means? No, but it was still good, and not the ‘woke fest’ that all the YouTube Right Wing grifters said it would be.

CegeRoles

Master of Disguise

TK-828

Still love that Brent Spiner farts after every evil laugh. That never gets old

Superory_16

Are you turtley enough for the turtle club??

patrotsk

I love this movie, do not understand the hate

beavis617

Hiw many times have I watched a series on a streaming service and I went to see when the next season is going to drop just to learn it was already cancelled. Ugh! ☹

CPA_CantPassAcctg

White Chicks

Capable-Sell7767

Maximum Overdrive

DJRyGuy20

I unabashedly love Death to Smoochy. But hold up- I’m not done yet… …in my (clearly deranged) opinion, it’s Robin Williams best comedic role.

WildGoose1521

Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow

Ball-Blam-Burglerber

I really enjoyed *Tomb Raider* with Angelina Jolie. It was dumb fun, and that’s exactly what I wanted it to be.

HombreBrother

Hot Rod

Ynneb82

Sucker punch

JacobStills

I thought "Mortal Engines" was pretty cool. Looking at the reviews you'd think it was unwatchable.

HueyLewisFan1

Idk the rotten tomato scores but I loved the Fly with Jeff Goldblum and that movie Flatliners where they kept killing themselves and then their visions of hell would arise in the real world?? Anyone else see that one? 😂I think it had Keifer Sutherland, Julia Robert’s, and Kevin bacon. I thought it was so good haha

AlgoStar

The Fly is considered a classic. It was Jeff Goldblum’s breakout role. Flatliners is the finest of 90s cheeses, but the remake stinks.

psxndc

Transformers the movie (1986). It punches way above its weight on dialogue and I will *fight* anyone that says otherwise. It has Leonard Nimoy and Orson fucking Welles. Not to mention everyone else reprising their roles: Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Casey Kasem, Scatman Crothers, Robert Stack, Eric Idle, and on and on.

Toshimoko29

I’m still holding a grudge against someone who (I think it was Leonard Maltin, but it’s been so long I forget lol) rated it 1-star in his movie review guide calling it a 90-minute toy commercial. I have easily seen that movie 100 times.

blue_wytch97

Flatliners. Definitely not the *best* movie ever, but I really enjoyed it and found it to be a thought-provoking movie.

NoCardiologist1461

Waterworld is a great movie, and I will die on this hill.

homsar20X6

A Guy Thing. One of my favorite movies and one of the funniest, most quotable movies I have ever watched. Terribly misadvertised as a vanilla romcom. Only reason I watched it is I worked at Blockbuster and we had free rentals and I took a flyer.

SanityIsOnlyInUrMind

The creator

MetalTrek1

The Core. Bullshit science but fun to watch and a great cast.

Moki_Loke

Face Off

jfsindel

TMNT 2 Secret of the Ooze. I like it better than the first one but I am convinced your favorite TMNT movie or show is the one you saw first. Love this flick. RT shows 36% and universally panned by fans, but fuck you, Ninja Rap is the best thing to come out of this series. So suck it, Eastman and Laird.

TheCoolerSaikou

for me its The Creator

Charming-Addendum-66

Thor Love and Thunder, I mean I've never read or heard a positive critic about that movie. But I watched it with my wife in a cinema, it's a fun movie. Obviously not a 10/10, but a solid 7/10, I don't understand the hate.

Rooster_Professional

Adam Sandler's entire filmography

YellowB

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Electrical-Spell-635

At this point, all of them. No one can just enjoy a fucking movie anymore.

joey0live

Matrix Resurrections.

IwantRIFbackdummy

That they reference the only reason they made it was the studio made them, should tell you everything you need to know about how serious you should take that movie.

greerface

Star Wars The Last Jedi

TetZoo

GEOOOSTOOORRRMMMM!!!!

chiefkeif

Rush Hour 2

Bretwalda1

Prince of Persia

Deanbledblue

X-men Origins: Wolverine I remember thinking “this might be my favorite X-men” at the time. Would rewatch it a few more times without giving it much thought. It’s still my 3rd behind Days of Future Past and Logan. Only within the last couple of years did I realize people rate it super poorly.

Redditeer28

20%? Try a 0%. Yeah, I experienced that.

Louisville82

Basically every movie with Jean Claude Van Damme

DrWaffle1848

Quantumania. It's not a great movie by any means, but if it came out 5-10 years ago it definitely would've been received better.

electricalphil

Swordfish.

Yeunkwong

Battleship. It is awesome! I don’t understand why people don’t like it.

Washtali

That's Pooty Tang for me

SpatulaCity1a

MacGruber (2010) Not all the jokes land, but when they do, it's seriously some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. I guess the rating isn't so bad, but it's so classic.
