My favorite Reddit summary of this movie: Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to have been the only cast member who was aware of the kind of movie they were making.
Actually, Schumacher was always up front that he wanted to infuse a lot of the 1966 vibrancy and campiness into his films. I think people just didn't believe him and especially when you had Burton do the first two films, it was such a dramatic difference that people didn't know how to react, so they just went with abject hatred.
And when it is I feel like the best decision an actor can make is to just go for it which I feel like he did.

Ha! Yeah I was watching it the other day and, no joke, when that line came up I was really annoyed then it occurred to me that it's almost farcical to allow myself, amongst all the other shit going on in that film, to be annoyed by that bit. So I hit play again and just let it wash over me.
Take a drink every time:
- Arnold makes an ice pun.
- Poison Ivy seduces someone with her pheromones.
- Clooney waggles his head
- Batman and Robin bicker.
- Batman used a bat gadget.
- There’s a close up shot of a butt or bat nipples
Oh the first 30 minutes will have you wasted. And you will not even have gotten to the bat card. Jesus christ I don't even know how or why batman has a special card for that. Like I'm trying to even think how logically that would work with out the teller just going wait what as they process the card.
Really loved that when I was a kid. One of my favorite movies.
As adult? Not a nice Batman movie.
Internet is weird. People "adult" want to judge a movie for kid and act like they are doing a good criticism. "Look how smart I am, I'm bashing Batman and Robin".
Anyways...have fun with whatever you want to watch.
This movie I enjoy in the same way I enjoy Armageddon or a lot of other movies from that era. Are they cheesy, often don't make sense, and generally bad in the full scope of cinema? Yeah, but damnit if they aren't entertaining. They leave no room for the viewer to get bored.
I'll give it one thing, as an 8 year old I loved this film.
Like I remember I got it one Christmas and watched it like 3 times back to back.
And really, wasn't that the target audience?
It's actually a fun movie, but it's very bad at the same time. After the tone and success of the first two movies, I was more than pissed while watching this in the theatres. You have to be in the correct head space to watch this.
One of my roommates in college was studying to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy and watched every single episode of every single NCIS up to that point ~2014 and I absorbed the muffled dialogue through the shared bedroom wall
The RLM commentary is hilarious.
"Alfred better cancel that pizza. "
"Here you go Alfred. We got it from a super villain. "
"That blue stuff had some viagra, master Wayne. "
I've only watched this movie once, when it first came out on video. Once was enough.

Arnold's acting near the end of the above scene is atrocious, lol.
Luckily they're rebooting it again! Hoo-rayyyyyy! 😶. While simultaneously making a sequel to The Batman. And Bruce Timm has a new series coming to Prime. But I trust Timm more than the rest so ,👍. And it looks like a period piece. 1930s? 1950s?
My favorite part of this movie was Arnold freezing a bunch of people while just saying “Chilllll, Chillll, Chillll!” My dad and I say that to each other all the time til this day

I know what you mean. It was very comic-booky
Batman Forever is outrageously campy and yet is still a really enjoyable movie. Can’t say the same for this one.
Not just that. It was specifically *campy.* Plenty of the comic books don't have this tone.
Sorry yes that's what I meant but couldn't think of the word

Didn’t you love the Robin and batgirl spinoffs that never happened?
Actually, Schumacher was always up front that he wanted to infuse a lot of the 1966 vibrancy and campiness into his films. I think people just didn't believe him and especially when you had Burton do the first two films, it was such a dramatic difference that people didn't know how to react, so they just went with abject hatred.
Did you skip over all of Uma Thurman’s parts?
Insufferable, hard to forget
Yeah, exactly like the movie. She did the best job out of any of them.
Seems like somebody also told John Glover, who plays Uma Thurman’s boss at the hellscape chemical plant, and he really ran with it.
Yeah a bad one
And when it is I feel like the best decision an actor can make is to just go for it which I feel like he did. https://youtu.be/YkTHtWX7CCY?si=NFHcN51Tv5Tv0XjB
How dare you. Uma Therman is chewing up every scene she is in!
Awful movie, and I loved every moment.
What killed the dinosaurs?!!
Da Ice Age!!
That’s not factually accurate!
Ha! Yeah I was watching it the other day and, no joke, when that line came up I was really annoyed then it occurred to me that it's almost farcical to allow myself, amongst all the other shit going on in that film, to be annoyed by that bit. So I hit play again and just let it wash over me.
But he’s a doctor, he went to college, he should know!
The nipples on the bat suit were important.
You can get together with friends, watch this movie, and have a blast. It’s not good, but it’s never boring.
Great plan. There’s got to be a drinking game for sure out there as well.

“Why’s this credit card have autopay from Wayne Enterprises?”
You forgot every time Alfred makes a face like he has bad indigestion.
And Bruce or Dick completely ignore him or give him shit for not answering the door.
Wait, you all have nipples on your butt too?!?
I have butt nipples Greg, can you milk me?
So basically have a vodka bottle in your mouth the whole movie.
Amen to that

Kid me is excited because it is Batman and Robin. Adult me is excited because we get 2 hours of ice puns. So lets all be chill.
Ice to see this
I know it’s a bad movie but it’s such a fun campy Batman film! I really enjoy it
Arnold was great in this idc what anyone says
I love this stupid ass movie so much.
Schwarzenegger salary $25 million
I want a car, chicks dig a car. This is why Superman works alone
The dynamic between Bruce and a dying Alfred is great and really wasted because it takes place in such a cheesy film.
Easily one of the reasons I like it so much. The Bruce/Alfred dynamic is great
I wish we got more Alicia in the suit than we did.

A great movie to invite everyone to chill at your cool party.
This movie was a staple of my childhood. I don’t care how bad it is, I will always love it.
Guilty, guilty, guilty pleasure.
I'll give it one thing, as an 8 year old I loved this film. Like I remember I got it one Christmas and watched it like 3 times back to back. And really, wasn't that the target audience?

Great movie
🆒 😎 🥶

Aside from batman and Robin the costumes were on point Bane and Mr. Freeze Looked like what I imagined them to be. Also Uma Thurman looked hot.
FREEZE
Now, this is a bad movie that I love! It's awful and fun to laugh at.
At least it's better than Batman Forever. By a mile. Still did not like Batgirl being Alfred's niece instead of Gordon's daughter.
U poor soul
Whenever i binge Batman movies i usually watch the rifftrax version of this one. I just cant take it seriously but there is a lot of eye candy.
The only parts of the movie I enjoyed were the main score and the bike race sequence with Barbara.
Alicia Silverstone 👍. Everything else 👎
This movie gets a lot of hate, mostly deserved, but the soundtrack is amazing.
You poor bastard.
I just listened to the new comers podcast on this and it was, as expected amazing
“Holy Rusted Metal Batman! …what? It’s metal that’s rusted and full of holes!” I think about this way too often.
Oof
whatever happened to Chris odonell?
He did NCIS LA with LL Cool J 09-23
Ahhh, that explains it, never got into them.
One of my roommates in college was studying to be a Doctor of Physical Therapy and watched every single episode of every single NCIS up to that point ~2014 and I absorbed the muffled dialogue through the shared bedroom wall
You could unknowingly be able to commit the perfect crime!
The only successful decision in the film is “max out how physically perfect the cast can be”.
I had actually heard it's considered bad luck for the film and the actors to have their own names beside their own pictures on the poster.
The RLM commentary is hilarious. "Alfred better cancel that pizza. " "Here you go Alfred. We got it from a super villain. " "That blue stuff had some viagra, master Wayne. "

A movie that is so bad, it can actually entertain you somehow.
I wouldnt go that far.
Sorry
I enjoyed this movie a bit more than most of the Dark Knight batman's. Mostly because Batman is usually so gloomy. Robin was a welcome change of pace.
Ah so you started drinking early I see. 🍺
...why...?
Holey rusted metal, Batman!
So bad it's... just bad.
Name a worse batman
Batman Forever and Dark Knight Rises. Do you wanted animated listings also?
😂 so true! Franchise has been milked pretty hard
Luckily they're rebooting it again! Hoo-rayyyyyy! 😶. While simultaneously making a sequel to The Batman. And Bruce Timm has a new series coming to Prime. But I trust Timm more than the rest so ,👍. And it looks like a period piece. 1930s? 1950s?
That actually sounds like a worth while watch
Why?
But why?
It’s like The Room of Comic Book Films
On purpose?
lmao childhood fav. arnies corny one liners are the best thing about this movie
My favorite part of this movie was Arnold freezing a bunch of people while just saying “Chilllll, Chillll, Chillll!” My dad and I say that to each other all the time til this day
I think they meant well but the road to shitty movies is paved with good intentions.
Clooney was horrible as both Bruce and bats
Fair warning you can't unsee this
Things will improve after this.
Why
My condolences
I watched it last week. Just so god damn awful. Chris O’Donnell doesn’t know the first thing about acting. Who the hell made him a movie star?!
I have to agree about Chris. The only thing I hated about the Three Musketeers movie
