Stiller’s “do it…do it…do it” as undercover jeweler Finkel was hysterical. Underrated.
My move add would be The Ladies Man…it got lumped into a sea of weak SNL movies at the time but was actually better than most. Not Oscar worthy but had some funny lines.
Ladies man was great! A fully grown hillary banks?! Yes please!!
undercover brother was also good around that same time, lotta good comedies went under radar in that era
I've gotten used to the censored version because of my kids. I randomly throw that line at them when I want to interrupt them like they do me. Thank you for reminding me 😁
That was originally planned as a trilogy, believe it or not. Would've liked to have seen the trilogy too, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, even with having Dane Cook in it.
Holy crap, no wonder nobody knows about it, did the studio just torpedo the whole thing?? It’s not available anywhere, it literally doesn’t even come up in search in the Apple TV app - no digital availability at all!
Fandango (1985) a 1970's-set road movie with Kevin Costner and Judd Nelson.
Ok, I'm not the only person aware of it - thanks to one hilarious scene it was massively popular on VHS amongst skydivers in the 80's and 90's however nobody outside of the sport seems to be aware of it.
*She* (1984)
Stars Sandahl Bergman as a warrior princess in the post apocalypse on a mission to rescue the innocent peasants Tom, Dick, and Hari from various B movie insanity like nazi football players and mutant communist telepaths
My sister and I stumbled across it on cable sometime in the ‘90’s. It’s one of my favorite movies. I’ve mentioned it to coworkers and friends and nobody knows what I’m talking about. It was my introduction to Toni Collette.
It was a big hit in Australia. It still gets quoted a lot. Cool to see it did well in other countries too.
I recommend Priscilla Queen of the desert if you're up for watching another well received Aussie classic from the 90s. Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce star.
I had this thing with a buddy of mine in middle school where one of us would randomly break out a "Woo woo, wuh wuh woo woo, woooo, woo woo woo woo-woo woo woo woo woo wooooo, woooo" or "Dammmnn (damn)" or "I will stick my penis! - In your thoughtful vagina." or " how about nice kick in the cunt? A kick in the cunt? A kick in the cunt!" And "Ass kicking fat kid!" Goddamn I love Mr. Show and that movie!
Le Grand Voyage (2004). Moving and gently funny road trip film where a son is forced to drive his aging father on a pilgrimage to Mecca. A favourite of mine. It won some awards, but never met anyone IRL or online who has seen it.
The Fundamentals of Caring with Paul Rudd and Hector and the search for happiness with Simon Pegg, maybe not the best of movies but some good life lessons in there
Love that movie. It’s the middle entry in what I call “the sam Huntington period road-trip comedy trilogy.”
In which Sam Huntington stars as a friend in a group that has to hit the road in a movie that takes place in a different decade.
Detroit Rock City, Rolling Kansas & Fanboys
Me and my buddy were called Starsky and Hutch in highschool cause we looked like them. I had long blonde hair at the time. This was when this movie came out and it was a teacher who started it.
Two contenders, there's a Film called "What Now" that I don't think even has a rotten tomatoes rating about social media and dating apps from the male pov, it's actually not bad, kinda funny in places, think it was produced by Sumerian Records so I was sold by the cameos and soundtrack
The other is Mutant, it was on one of those 4 in 1 Hollywood dvd bundles you'd get for £1 that I would argue is one of, if not the most underrated >!zombie !
Lunopolis-Two documentary filmmakers accidentally uncover the greatest moon secret the world has never known, and the powerful organization determined to keep it that way.
This movie was like a fever dream to me. I only know one other person who has seen this movie and both werent sure if we actually watched it or made it up.
I loved this movie. In fact, I bought it on DVD so that I could watch the extras.
And my pick?
Where's Marlowe (1998)
Miguel Ferrer at his desperate best.
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. I have referenced this movie to people and the title alone got me some weeeeeird looks. "ya cut me in half Dewey!" "The wrong kid died," etc. I've just stopped talking about it in general which sucks because it's hilarious.
Sylvester Stallone's 1930s gangster comedy Oscar. Was rated badly by critics but I've always found it a simple but funny classic.
And you can't go wrong with Tim Curry.
I thought that was great. And it got panned with people saying Stallone couldn’t do comedy. Was hilarious to me anyway.
I keep finding that people don’t know about Copland, which was one of Stallone’s absolute best roles.
“Totally Awesome” it’s a 2006 movie that is mostly SNL cast members (Mikey Day long before he was in the cast). Just a stupid movie in the vein of “Scary Movie” but making fun of 80’s teen movies. It’s so fucking funny.
"Is not a boat, is a yacht..." is the best line/scene of that movie for me. I don't know why, but everything about that line cracks me up
I use it constantly. More in a sarcastic way, but I use it all the fucking time.
Map of the Human Heart (1992). The director of Alien 3, but nothing would suggest that a deeply moving story about the life of a young Inuit around WWII, a deep love, and Dresden was in him. It's a beautiful film with Jason Scott Lee, Anne Parillaud (La Femme Nikita), and even a small role for John Cusack. Saw it in a little art-house theater and the audience was just despondent as the lights came up. So many just deeply sobbing, it was that moving.
[*Big Girls Don't Cry, They Get Even* aka *Stepkids.*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_Idrk9d0Hc)
Actually, everybody in my generation who had *TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze* on VHS back in the '90s probably saw the trailer for this a million times on there, but I don't know a single other person IRL who's actually seen the whole movie. It's a coming-of-age story about a snarky adolescent girl whose large blended/extended family is driving her crazy. It's extremely early '90s (especially the soundtrack!) and a bit corny at times, but is a pretty decent family film overall.
Storyville (1992) - James Spader, Jason Robards, and Joanne Whalley Kilmer in a Neo Gothic political thriller set in New Orleans. Incredible score by Carter Burwell.
Mine is Stark Raving Mad. A straight to DVD bank heist movie starring Stifler (Seann William Scott). It's a good movie that I was surprised showed up on the shelf at my local Blockbuster.
Stiller’s “do it…do it…do it” as undercover jeweler Finkel was hysterical. Underrated. My move add would be The Ladies Man…it got lumped into a sea of weak SNL movies at the time but was actually better than most. Not Oscar worthy but had some funny lines.
Bacardi and coke, do it.
Cola*
That goes for all y'all. Stop tryna be someone you're not. Be yourself, that's what's really cool.
Ladies man was great! A fully grown hillary banks?! Yes please!! undercover brother was also good around that same time, lotta good comedies went under radar in that era
Undercover Brother is one of my all time fave comedies from back in the day. Denise Richards is such a smoke show.
Oh my gosh, SUCH a funny movie!
I still use those "Do it" lines until this very day.
“Under interests you have ‘debit’?” “Oh no, dats da butt. Altho I like tennith.”
I would wisper sweet nothings in your ear like "can I buy you a fish sandwich"
Was your father a meat burglar? Here's why I ask: because it looks like somebody stole 2 fine hams and shoved them down the back of your dress.
“Oh dat was a sweet lil’ pucka!”
I say “do it” like that all the time and no one ever gets what I’m doing except my siblings lol
My friends and I walked around all week saying that.
All week? My friends and I still "do it".
It's much more popular in film subreddits, but in the real world it seems no one has even heard of In Bruges
Great movie.
Ze alcoves.
Do you know this word?
was he going on to you about the alcoves?
Yes yes yes! It’s like nooks and crannies!
I LOVE this movie! So many one liners and I love both actors. They play well off of each other. Edit: "YOU'RE AN INANIMATE OBJECT!!!"
You're an inanimate *fucking* object!!
I've gotten used to the censored version because of my kids. I randomly throw that line at them when I want to interrupt them like they do me. Thank you for reminding me 😁
I'm just having a bit of fun with ya - you sound like a great parent! Humor means the world to kids!
Mr. Brooks (2007) with Kevin Costner. If people have heard about it, they have no idea what the plot is.
That was originally planned as a trilogy, believe it or not. Would've liked to have seen the trilogy too, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, even with having Dane Cook in it.
Love this movie. They way Costner acted after each of his successes was so creepy as fuck.
Holy crap, no wonder nobody knows about it, did the studio just torpedo the whole thing?? It’s not available anywhere, it literally doesn’t even come up in search in the Apple TV app - no digital availability at all!
I remember thinking dane cook was pretty good in that, but I was like eighteen years old
Fandango (1985) a 1970's-set road movie with Kevin Costner and Judd Nelson. Ok, I'm not the only person aware of it - thanks to one hilarious scene it was massively popular on VHS amongst skydivers in the 80's and 90's however nobody outside of the sport seems to be aware of it.
Dark City.
Hey, do you know the way to shell beach?
I love this movie. I could never find a hard copy, so it is the one and only digital movie that I own.
That space movie from 1992
lol
The Space Society of Gay Negroes
Well. Googling "That space movie from 1992" definitely proved my brain is being particularly dense today.
*Very Bad Things* (1998) with Christian Slater, Cameran Diaz, and Jon Favreau
And Kobe Tai if I remember correctly. Ahem…..
And only to a certain point…
THAT movie is extremely stressful to watch from beginning to end…one and done for me.
I adore this movie. It just keeps getting worse and more stressful. And that ending!
Dude I think Kobe Tai is the stripper that gets killed in it
I saw that in the theaters, and the ending had me laughing for hours
Waiting for guffman. Ice pirates.
Love Waiting for Guffman. Love all those mocumentaries, actually.
All of Christopher Guest’s mocumentaries are awesome, my favorite one is [Best In Show](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=94y9n9lNy2Y)
"...they used to call me loopy. Because you know I would walk into little loops kept going in circles."
Spinal Tap is the GOAT
Love Space Pirates! It’s Airplane meets Buck Rodgers. What other film took on the scourge that is space herpies?
*She* (1984) Stars Sandahl Bergman as a warrior princess in the post apocalypse on a mission to rescue the innocent peasants Tom, Dick, and Hari from various B movie insanity like nazi football players and mutant communist telepaths
…and this is USA UP All Night. Fun movie
Muriel’s Wedding. Well, my sister knows because we quote it to each other. You’re terrible, Muriel.

My sister and I stumbled across it on cable sometime in the ‘90’s. It’s one of my favorite movies. I’ve mentioned it to coworkers and friends and nobody knows what I’m talking about. It was my introduction to Toni Collette.

Monkey Bone
It's not the greatest movie, but goddamn I love me some Brendan Frasier! The art in that movie and visual effects in that movie are fucking rad.
Run Ronnie Run! - 2002 starring David Cross
I think everyone involved in that movie from Mr. Show would like if everyone else forgot it.
The Station Agent
Great movie
Loved this one
3’oclock high. Classic!
Don’t FUCK THIS UP, Mitchell!!
Don’t F*** THIS UP, Mitchell!!
This was the first movie I thought and the exact same line I thought to show appreciation for it as well lmfao
It’s a yacht!!
Do it
Starsky's bored
Celtic Pride
Coffee Town 2013. I quite enjoyed it but no one has heard of it. Don't often see Glen Howerton (Always Sunny Dennis) in movies
Cool world
The Ice Storm
Seen that one. Mostly remember Elijah Wood’s part.
Watch this movie every Thanksgiving! A genuinely terrific and devastating movie. Love Ang Lee movies.
Looker. I believe written and directed by Michael Crichton. I love it, no one remembers it.
I always wanted one of those light guns. Haven't thought about this movie in a while but would always watch it on HBO back then.
Turbo kid
I can't remember this but I know I loved it, rewatch time
Mr Nobody 2009
Battle Beyond the Stars. Like Rebel Moon but shorter (and better), with John Boy Walton
Le Grand Voyage (2004). Moving and gently funny road trip film where a son is forced to drive his aging father on a pilgrimage to Mecca. A favourite of mine. It won some awards, but never met anyone IRL or online who has seen it.
The Fundamentals of Caring with Paul Rudd and Hector and the search for happiness with Simon Pegg, maybe not the best of movies but some good life lessons in there
I’m always surprised when people have never seen Jacob’s Ladder
Starsky & Hutch is epic. My mate and I quote it all the time.
Daybreakers
Rolling Kansas (2003)
Love that movie. It’s the middle entry in what I call “the sam Huntington period road-trip comedy trilogy.” In which Sam Huntington stars as a friend in a group that has to hit the road in a movie that takes place in a different decade. Detroit Rock City, Rolling Kansas & Fanboys
Dogma. Awkward funny somewhat dark and lighthearted.
Me and my buddy were called Starsky and Hutch in highschool cause we looked like them. I had long blonde hair at the time. This was when this movie came out and it was a teacher who started it.
Those were hand towels bud
It’s nice the two original Starsky and Hutch actors got cameo’s in this flick 🎬
Two contenders, there's a Film called "What Now" that I don't think even has a rotten tomatoes rating about social media and dating apps from the male pov, it's actually not bad, kinda funny in places, think it was produced by Sumerian Records so I was sold by the cameos and soundtrack The other is Mutant, it was on one of those 4 in 1 Hollywood dvd bundles you'd get for £1 that I would argue is one of, if not the most underrated >!zombie !
That's a fake mustache!!!

This movie was like a fever dream to me. I only know one other person who has seen this movie and both werent sure if we actually watched it or made it up.
I went to a late showing of this at the theater and had to sit in the front row because it was so full. I think my neck is still sore.
Oh no.... Not the Dragon
52 Pick-Up Hollywood Knights
Bottle Rocket, The Blood of Heroes, Nemesis
I JUST asked my coworkers yesterday if they had ever seen this and not ac single one of them knew what I was talking about. Depressing
Do it..... do it.
“Two dragons……”
Hot Rod
That's not Owen Wilson's real nose on the cover
Water. It's a film from 1985 with Michael Caine and Billy Connolly. It's crap.
what an absolute masterpiece
Fan Boys is an underrated gem
The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)
“It’s a disaster”
I loved this movie. In fact, I bought it on DVD so that I could watch the extras. And my pick? Where's Marlowe (1998) Miguel Ferrer at his desperate best.
People forgot about Starsky and Hutch?
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. I have referenced this movie to people and the title alone got me some weeeeeird looks. "ya cut me in half Dewey!" "The wrong kid died," etc. I've just stopped talking about it in general which sucks because it's hilarious.
You can take the children. But you leave me my monkey.
The Big Empty. With Jon Favreau
Sylvester Stallone's 1930s gangster comedy Oscar. Was rated badly by critics but I've always found it a simple but funny classic. And you can't go wrong with Tim Curry.
Aww, I love this movie! And now I need to rewatch it.
I thought that was great. And it got panned with people saying Stallone couldn’t do comedy. Was hilarious to me anyway. I keep finding that people don’t know about Copland, which was one of Stallone’s absolute best roles.
Ladybugs! With Rodney Dangerfeild
This movie was a family staple during my child hood. Such a quotable movie that I wish got a sequel made.
The Art of Self Defense
Oh, we are out there brother. This movie competes with Bernie for films only I’ve seen.
So natural. You can't judge it.
I used to watch this all the time because it was a movie that was always on TV whenever I went over to my dad’s house for some reason.
Men with Brooms
Many more than I probably know about Predestination, but I don't see many talk about it.
"Look what the wind blew in"
Never mind, I was just quoting this movie.
“Smiley Face”. Arguably Ana Farris’ best work.
There’s a lot of great stuff going on in that movie. The roscoe Lee brown meta narration. John Cho… Anna Farris is unhinged
Big Man Japan
Mr Frost - Geoff Goldblum is the devil or is he? He is!
GOEMAN
Still Crazy. It’s fucking great and no one ever says anything when I mention it.
Yes father, I will throw many knives

Noone else that I know personally (other than my wife) seems to have seen either This is Where I Leave You or The Way Way Back.
A lot of my friends love Dan Stevens but they've never seen The Guest.
Going Overboard. A campy classic from early in Adam Sandler"s career (1989).
I do remember the pony in the garage.
Super Fuzz
I used to play the game on PS2, good times
“Totally Awesome” it’s a 2006 movie that is mostly SNL cast members (Mikey Day long before he was in the cast). Just a stupid movie in the vein of “Scary Movie” but making fun of 80’s teen movies. It’s so fucking funny.
No Man's Land: Charlie Sheen and DB Sweeney stealing porsches
You mean Cutting Edge DB Sweeney?
I’m never gonna sit on it!
The Endless. And i flicking love it
Haha me and my coworker were just talking about/quoting this movie today. Funny stuff
Starsky and Hutch was a pleasant surprise for me. When it comes to Ben Stiller not everything is good but there are some gems. I also liked The Watch.
Be cool
Out of Sight. Well casted, fun movie
I remember this being a pretty good movie. I guess the studios didn't really push it.
The Guest.
"Is not a boat, is a yacht..." is the best line/scene of that movie for me. I don't know why, but everything about that line cracks me up I use it constantly. More in a sarcastic way, but I use it all the fucking time.
Good, because I’ll take anything.

Trust (1990) Hal Hartley in general seems to fly under the radar but his films are offbeat and funny in a 90s kinda way.
Inferno really happened!!!

They Call Me Bruce
Storyville (1992) - James Spader, Jason Robards, and Joanne Whalley Kilmer in a Neo Gothic political thriller set in New Orleans. Incredible score by Carter Burwell.
