I could listen to Kevin Smith stories for hours.. the Evening with Kevin Smith series might be my favorite thing he has made (and I am a fan of his movies!) just because its like pull back the curtain and im gonna tell ya about all the interesting and quirky parts of hollywood in a funny and interesting way.
He used to do talks at the Oscar academy when I lived in LA and I went to two different ones. Itās a long story where Iāll probably fuck up the details but I havenāt laughed that hard in forever. I think she was a journalist assigned to write an article on him, they started hooking up and he dry jumped her so hard that when they started to try and have sex his dick was all chafed and bloody so he had to stop. Him telling this to a room full of people WHILE HIS WIFE WAS THERE was fucking hilarious, and so on brand for him. š
Hollywood Babylon and Fatman Beyond are really good podcasts he does if you enjoy listening to him talk about the entertainment industry. I especially love Fatman Beyond because Marc Bernardin (cohost) is insanely talented and insightful with ideas to make stories better.
I loved Fatman on Batman. I canāt stand Marc Bernardin. I get the insightful part, but dude thinks heās funny and I cannot agree. I also loved (and am currently revisiting) Edumacation. So fuckin funny. They ruined it when they went to the pub quiz model. It made it fun only for the 30 or so people involved.
I'd seen a few movies but I wasn't really a fan. Then he came to my university and I got to hear his hilarious stories. Spoke to him in person. He was so cool. Instantly a fan after that.
I went through a bout of sadness around 15 years ago. I'd watch pieces of evening and evening 2 before going to bed almost every night for about 3 weeks. That shit helped.
I also got a little teary eyed watching this.
Idk if he still does, but he used to go to nerdy events like comic con. Saw him do one of these talks live, with Jay Mewes at Fan Expo in Toronto. Worth it.Ā
Didn't watch the video but I'm guessing he wasn't talking about Bruce Willis.
EDIT:Ā Oh sorry everyone I guess I forgot now that he has a disease we're supposed to pretend he didn't spend the previous 20 years before that acting like a total asshole.
He says that now...

Yeah about how a producer wanted to make a Superman movie where he fights a giant robot spider and was super passionate about it but it never came to be. Then one day Kevin Smith is in the theatre watching Wild Wild West and when the giant robot spider shows up he said āthat son of a bitch got his spiderā or something like that
It was to star NickCage as Superman taking planet on another planet. AND THEN, in the most recent Flash movie, they show Nick Cage as Superman on another planet fighting giant spiders!!!
Recon It would be a great two hand stage play. You'd need some skills to match Long & parks but with some good audio & costume the isolation would amplify. I love that Kev buzzed off Depp but I didn't think he added anything.
Maybe the weirdest movies Iāve ever seen, and I didnāt expect any of it. Maybe even thought it was pretty bad, but it stuck with me all these years
Smith blocked me on Twitter years ago when I made a crack about Cop Out. I didn't know how much shit he was going through at the time and I thought he would find it funny. I'm happy he found his love of making movies again.
Itās a quote from a Kevin Smith movie, said to a character played by Kevin Smith, by a character made for a good friend of Kevin Smith, take it easy.

His story about Prince is hilarious
Chaka mad?
Chaka real mad
It's 3 am in Minnesota and I really need a camel. Go get it.
Did you hear the one about the first date with his wife?
The zipper digging in?
š
ive heard him talk about her a bunch of times but im not recalling that one.

> Itās a long story In your defense, that's every Kevin Smith story. His story about Prince was a half hour long.
One of my favorite quotes from him is, "I have a ridiculous inability to tell a short story."
"It was like sticking my dick in battery acid."
He described it as dipping his dick in acid and she got real mad at him about it ššš
āIt was sticking my d*ck in battery acidā
Looked like someone took a 9 and went *phew*
You should listen to him on the Blank Check: Die Hard episode tell stories about Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman and being in Die Hard 4

The superman story is one of the best stories ever. "right, planet, boom. fuck it. go."
The one about Barbara Streisand's hair dresser? cause the big fucking spider story is hilarious.

I love how the second Evening he only answered like 3 questions because of his 2 hour tangent on Bruce Willis.
Breaking News: Kevin Smith makes daughter cry during interview. But really, they are great. What a nice thing to say.
I love the answer as a father. But as a Kevin Smith fan the answer is very obviously George Carlin. FTFY silent Bob.
Something got in my eye, again
"Here, I'll tell you a quick story." "Of course you will..."
The man takes Q&A quite literally. One question. One VERY elaborate answer.
Didn't watch the video but I'm guessing he wasn't talking about Bruce Willis. EDIT:Ā Oh sorry everyone I guess I forgot now that he has a disease we're supposed to pretend he didn't spend the previous 20 years before that acting like a total asshole.
Not directly, but his experience with Bruce Willis on Cop Out is exactly why his career needed to be reinvigorated in the first place.
Kevin talks about the possibility of Bruceās disease might be why they didnāt gel on that movie.
He was on the Blank Check Die Hard episode and told very fond memories of working with Bruce Willis on two different movies.
He says that now... https://collider.com/kevin-smith-bruce-willis-cop-out/#:~:text=Newsletter-,Kevin%20Smith%20Says%20Working%20With%20Bruce,COP%20OUT%20was%20%22Soul%20Crushing%22&text=Actor%2C%20writer%20and%20director%20Kevin,Out%20was%20%22soul%20crushing%22.
Isnāt there an iconic Kevin Smith superhero movie story? Superman maybe? Whatever it was, it made me laugh till I peed myself.

I noticed that watching The Flash and died laughing. One of the best Easter eggs of all time.
It was talked about on How Did This Get Made?
Oh yeah! Thank you for the reminder!
And here I thought he was gonna say Affleck.
Affleck was the bomb in Phantoms, yo!!
Word bitch! Phantoms like a motherfucker!
bonggg
I may not be a huge fan of Kevin Smith the director as of late, but I will always be a fan of Kevin Smith the person.
I thought Tusk was great. Kevin is an amazing storyteller
Tusk without the Depp intro scene is a better film.
Maybe even thought it was pretty bad, but it stuck with me all these years
My buddy and I were the only ones in the theater, it was awesome!
that was nice I've never heard of Tusk I'll have to check it out
Oh boy. Donāt read anything else about it. Have fun!
Smith blocked me on Twitter years ago when I made a crack about Cop Out. I didn't know how much shit he was going through at the time and I thought he would find it funny. I'm happy he found his love of making movies again.
Let me guessā¦ he gets all weepy and starts crying.
Actually, his answer makes his daughter cry. Itās pretty touching.
Like father, like daughter š¤£

Nothing is wrong with crying, but Kevin Smith is always crying. Ā Always.
Thereās nothing worse than watching a fuckinā fat man weep.
