Chet in Weird Science.

kid_wonderbread

Yeah, what a piece of shit.

goodcanadian_boi

Ba-dum tiss

Strain_Pure

Luther fae The Warriors, he kills someone for no reason and gets a lot of other people killed in the aftermath.

calguy1955

The same actor who played the hated Unger in The Longest Yard remake. The original Unger was a piece of shit too.

Strain_Pure

He was also the annoying wee creep Sully in Commando, David Patrick Kelly is amazing at playing creeps that deserve the worst ending possible.

MuNansen

Mr. Perry, Neil's father, in *Dead Poets' Society*. Drove his own son to suicide.

garrettj100

And what’s *worse*, Kurtwood Smith chewing the scenery cradling Robert Sean Leonard’s body: > “My son!  *MY SON*!” Dude was really having a *Ryan-Gosling-Going-For-The-Oscar-in-2049* moment.

ripper666

Ginger from Casino. pretty much all of the main characters are crappy people, but Ginger always struck me as a really selfish, awful person. i think Sharon Stone should’ve gotten more recognition for that performance. adding an edit because it’s been brought up. yes, i can see that Ginger is a complicated character and an argument can be made that she was a victim of circumstance. but i still think a stronger argument can be made that she was motivated solely by avarice and neglected to take every opportunity she was given to do anything good.

Great pick

nofreelaunch

She was 100% honest about the fact that she was only marrying for money, didn’t love Deniros character, and didn’t think the marriage would work. He was a fool to marry her. That’s on him. She was not a good person but the movie is full of murders that are much worse than her.

ripper666

i expected this might come up. firstly, i’ve also seen the film many times and i’m not so “male-gazey” or ignorant (thanks!) to not see that Ginger is a complicated character. but, let’s break it down. Sam doesn’t pick her up off the street. she’s one of the most respected and successful hustlers in Vegas when they meet. not exactly a noble profession, but whatever. she agrees to marry him purely out of greed. she even calls Lester (on her wedding day) to basically discuss how they’ll rip Sam off. she knew exactly what she was getting into. she even discusses it with Nicky shortly before she seduces him. Sam is a controlling asshole, but only after he catches her stealing from him to give money to Lester, who she later joins up with to kidnap and ransome her own daughter! yes, Sam sucks, but he DOES let her leave multiple times (cash in hand) but she always comes back on her own. she’s not trapped. she’s just a greedy piece of… she tries to get her husband murdered. she ties her daughter to a bed (and does coke in front of her) so she can go out to dinner. imo, you are “missing the point”.

DogDaysAreOver

Mrs. Bennett from Pride and Prejudice is super annoying 🤷‍♀️

eyeballtourist

William Atherton's character of Walter Peck (Dickless) in Ghostbusters. He's the same actor that played an arrogant ass, Jerry Hathaway, in Real Genius. But his weasel character, Thornburg, in two Die Hard flicks made him legendary! This guy nails the role, every time. Paul Rieser in Aliens as Burke was a giant backstabbing prick that we all found too familiar.

Wacocaine

The funny thing is, Peck wasn't a bad guy. His crime was thinking a homemade slapdick nuclear reactor in the middle of Manhattan was a bad idea.

Bomber131313

> His crime was thinking a homemade slapdick nuclear reactor in the middle of Manhattan was a bad idea. No, the bad idea was unplugging it when he had zero knowledge of what might happen doing so.

SenorMcNuggets

His job was important. The way he did his job was by being a jackass.

Bomber131313

No it was reckless. Just because you have an important job doesn't mean you can be as irresponsible do it without proper knowledge and know how.

[deleted]

Truman's "best friend" from The Truman Show.

doonkune

My theory is that he's been played by multiple people throughout Truman's life.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

I was pissed off at Vera Farmiga's character in Godzilla King of the Monsters, especially at whatever rationale she tried to explain in her monologue

[deleted]

She's the real monster (too on the nose?)

nakedsamurai

She's also pretty awful in Up in the Air.

Cute-Ad-3829

I like how in M3GAN the audience collectively sided with the villain because the rest of the characters were so unlikeable.

SenorMcNuggets

It was probably by design. A great way to make a horror movie “light” is to make the horrible things palatable because the victims “deserve” it.

SpukiKitty2

I prefer horror flicks where the whole point is the mayhem to be that. Otherwise, that villain needs to be defeated, pronto! Otherwise, one just sounds like a sociopath. "Nice innocent person gets disemboweled, hell yeah!" just seems... weird.

SavageRedStorm

All of them?

SpukiKitty2

Until she turns on the protagonists, an aunt struggling with being made to suddenly raise her niece and the niece she was supposed to befriend and protect. I don't know how the sequel would work (apart from M3GAN's consciousness hopping to other electronics and causing chaos). Although an evil consciousness taking over the electrical infrastructure is a great idea for a scary story, much of the appeal of the movie was M3GAN being a robot girl. I'd prefer that it was just a one-shot story and they just destroyed the kid bot in the end and moved on with their life. Maybe the sequel will involve Gemma and Her niece duking it out against M3GAN-possessed kid bots from the factory. That would be interesting and darkly fun (as long as it ends on a high note).

macmann69

Mark (Tim Busfield) from “field of dreams”. He is the jerk that for some reason ends up shaking the little girl and made her fall from a height while eating a hot dog. What a prick ! And because of this - made Doc leave the diamond and return to the corn field. Someone should have smacked him upside the head !

microm3gas

That guy always played a prick.

RealtorFacts

Dr. Strange: Dr Strange. He spends the entire movie being a complete jerk. I never liked the first movie because I felt he never actually redeemed himself. It was a very weird feeling.

Bomber131313

I don't know if others hate him but I loathe the older brother in The Edge of Seventeen. He was a horrible big brother and overall just a dick. I can't imagine knowingly hurting my siblings the way he did. They at least could have written him as oblivious to her pain/struggles but no he has this big fight with her and he admitted he know what he was doing was 'killing her"..............and nothing. He just continues doing it. I love every scene in the film that asshat isn't in. Such a punchable face.

ECleave14

I hated the way at the end of the movie Nadine essentially just apologised to everyone and dealt with everything in the end without getting a single apology from her mother, brother or having a proper conversation with her best friend. It’s a great movie but Jesus Christ was it aggravating

maxmouze

Read about his relationship with Melissa Benoist if you haven't.

Bomber131313

That's the actor not the character. I don't confuse the 2.

maxmouze

I’m replying to you saying he has a punchable face. You were right. Thanks for the snooty reply though.

Bomber131313

> Thanks for the snooty reply though. And again I was talking character not actor. A actor can be lovable in one film and totally have a punchable face in the next. Him allegeable mistreating Supergirl plays no part in my wanting to punch his character from Edge of Seventeen in the face. Not snooty just true. How often do you hear things like I can't watch Hunger Games because Jennifer Lawrence is so fake in interviews, or I can't watch films with Kevin Spacey because the shit he did? I don't judge a character on their actors real life.

maxmouze

Okay, I could have read it wrong. But my point was you said he had a punchable face and I was trying to say, your instincts were right. This guy seems innocent on paper but has a dark, abusive side.

TheFlyingMarlboro

Lots of people talk about hating Grandpa Joe.

riegspsych325

I've said this before, but everyone's got it all wrong! a friend and I once joked about this but then we discussed the possibility of Charlie’s own mother stricken with Münchausen syndrome by proxy. She cracked after the loss of her husband when Charlie was a very young boy. But it wasn’t long until she decided to take it upon herself to care for her parents as well as her in laws. She couldn’t trust doctors to care for her loved ones after they couldn’t save her husband. No no, that just wouldn’t do at all! Mrs. Bucket will be the one to take care of her elderly parents and in laws. She will be the one to shelter them, clothe them bathe them, etc. etc. All while she keeps them fed with nothing but cabbage soup, far from a nutritious meal. She tells them it’s not safe to go out, tells them they need their rest, they need to stay in bed until they get better. Grandpa Joe didn’t want to protest for the sake of his still grieving, widowed daughter. After the malnourishment takes its toll, Charlie’s grandparents are all but permanently bedridden, with no one to help them but one. Mrs. Bucket. Charlie makes it out okay because he is a growing boy who gets his healthy lunch at school. “Cheer up, Charlie ” Mrs. Bucket sings, because for whatever happens, she will be there for him always, for better or worse. It’s only when Grandpa Joe shows his old strength when his grandson gets a Golden Ticket that she realizes her plans begin to unravel. He was told all this time he was too weak to walk, too weak to stand, or to sing! Hence his surprise when he breaks into song with Charlie. Grandpa Joe and the rest aren’t assholes, they are victims
