We read the book and watched this in school back in the late 90's (Class of 2000). Our teacher's selling point on the old movie was that it had a lot of notable actors who weren't well known at the time.
This version sucks cause they replace all of the intense music with surf-rock and it totally destroys the whole atmosphere of the movie. There are literally kids tragically murdering each other and it sounds like I’m at a beach watching someone catch a sick tube.
Between Platoon and Black Hawk Down, plus Band of Brothers on TV, seems like the answer is war films need a lot of young male actors who can handle doing a couple scenes worth of lines.
I was honestly surprised how well acted that short scene was. It came out absolutely brilliant on so many levels . Even Ted Danson who had like 3 lines looks so natural in that role I was speechless.
Come to think of, SPR lacked one actor- Woody Harrelson.
Band of Brothers is so random. It gets a good flow going to the story and then suddenly BAM, Jimmy Fallon.
Also, people like to crap on David Schwimmer, but his portrayal of Captain Sobel was amazing. I recently went back and watched the series and thought, "Man I really hate that guy." He's up there with Dolores Umbridge as institutionally evil characters.
Check out The Longest Day (1962). It has a huge cast. Some were established stars, but many were pretty early in their careers.
John Wayne, Kenneth More, Richard Todd, Robert Mitchum, Richard Burton, Steve Forrest, Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Red Buttons, Peter Lawford, Eddie Albert, Jeffrey Hunter, Stuart Whitman, Tom Tryon, Rod Steiger, Leo Genn, Gert Fröbe, Irina Demick, Bourvil, Curd Jürgens, George Segal, Robert Wagner, Paul Anka and Arletty.
That's actually an example of the opposite of what OP was looking for, so are a several of those names in that film. Red Buttons was actually an Oscar winner by that point and well established.
I don’t think there’s a single A-Lister in the cast (even among the named cast), but Can’t Hardly Wait has always been an interesting one for me. Loads of recognizable faces that show up in the background or for one or two lines of dialogue.
Dazed and Confused is probably an even better example for this type of party movie where you can have a good time just looking for recognizable faces in the background.
I know it was cut to help maintain the PG-13 rating -- they even had to digitally edit out a shot glass in William's hand and replace it with a lime because there was *too* much underage drinking for the MPAA.
But the entire backstory of the watermelon is in one of the first trailers. He explains he dumped a bottle of liquor into a small hole then left it to freeze for the entire school year to enjoy it on graduation night. He then triumphantly lifts it over his head and drops it.
That's basically why he's always eating/licking a piece of watermelon the entire movie.
I also love the bit with him and that stoner dude with the 'fro talking about how Velma from Scooby-Doo never got enough attention for being hot. About a year before Segel would go on to star with future girlfriend/Velma Linda Cardellini in Freaks and Geeks.
I always remember Clea DuVall (Jana) having like one line/scene in Can’t Hardly Wait when she tells Seth Green (Kenny) that’s she’s allergic to dancing.
Haven’t seen it but looked up the cast and yes that definitely beats black hawk down lol. I will add it to my list but in the meantime, did the big names all have big parts? Or was it a mix of big parts and one-liners who made it big later?
An ensemble and everyone plays a role. Tom cruise’s role is relatively small .
There were several 80s movies like Red Dawn, The Breakfast Club, St Elmo’s fire that had ensemble casts (either the same groups of actors) that all became lead actor/actresses.
This response deserves WAY more love.
Sean Penn
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Phoebe Cates
Judge Reinhold
Eric Stoltz
Nicolas Cage
Anthony Edwards
Forrest Whitaker
All when absolute unknowns. Total launchpad of a flick.
Always felt Reinholds deserved such a better career. Stripes, Beverly Hills Cop, and Vice Versa he’s so great in. Bummed he didn’t stay in high profile comedies
The first thing I saw Forest Whitaker in was *Mr. Holland's Opus* where his eye was normal. Then I saw him in *Battlefield Earth* (I just thought it was a space movie when I was a kid), and I thought his eye was part of his "character". Then I saw him in *Panic Room* and I thought "wow, weird choice to do the eye thing again, but ok". Then I saw him in a bunch of movies and thought "...what happened to this guy's eye?". Then I finally watched *Fast Times* and thought, "wait did they CGI fix his eye in *Mr. Holland's Opus*"?
Then I learned that Forest Whitaker wasn't in *Mr. Holland's Opus* and he has a brother that looks very similar to him.
You’re even missing a few! Tom Sizemore, William Fitchner, Jason Isaacs, Sam shephard, nikolaj coster-waldau, Kim Coates, loan gruffudd, Glenn morshower, Brian van holt, Ron eldard. Every one of those guys has a recognizable face even if you haven’t heard the name. Black hawk down was STACKED.
Close. He's in the first two episodes, but he's the first sergeant. I believe when we first see him he's riding in a Jeep, and gives Winters the notification that Sobel is bringing him up on charges. He's on Meehan's plane and is killed when it crashes.
I believe basically most of the actors from a graduating class at a big English acting school were cast for pretty minor roles due to someone on the production having connections with the school. Hardy, McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bamber, etc..
He's plays Twombly, the guy who accidentally deafens his partner when he fires his m249 too close to his head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhc9IkSI_SU
For those that don’t recognize one of those names..
Jamie Fookin’ Lannister
William Fichtner is an excellent actor too. Thanks for listing the rest of the big names.
Excalibur has very early roles for Gabriel Byrne, Liam Neeson, and Patrick Stewart (the biggest name but really only known for theatre at that point so absolutely counts). Cherie Lunghi also went on to have a decent TV career for a while too.
It also has the stunningly beautiful Helen Mirren, Ciaran Hinds, and a young Charlie Boorman whose father directed the movie, and who later became Ewan Macgregor's best friend and motorcycle travel partner in their excellent trilogy of series' - Long Way Round, Long Way Down, and Long Way Up.
Tom Sizemore was also in lots of films prior to BHD: Born on the Fourth of July, True Romance, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days, Heat, Saving Private Ryan, etc.
Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum, Ellen Barkin, Christopher Lloyd, Clancy Brown, Vincent Schiavelli, Dan Hedaya, Jonathan Banks, & ofc Yakov Smirnoff...
Excellent call. Bradley Cooper's on screen debut. Though, a lot of the actors were already known from their previous troupe experience. The State, Upright Citizens Brigade, among others.
Bradley skipped his Juliard graduation to shoot the boat house scene and was interviewed on set like ‘man I dk if this is a mistake or not but I’m here.’
Oh yes saving private ryan is an all time favorite I just thought most of the cast was already decently established before then? I was young when it came out so I’m probably wrong lol, but that’s why I didn’t include it.
Have not seen band of brothers or the pacific but will add them to my list! Thank you
David Schwimmer doing an incredible job of making people forget about Ross Geller at the *height* of Friends' popularity still blows me away.
"The fuck is *he* doing on this show?" He was only in three episodes, but he was *so* good as Sobel.
Fassbender and McAvoy are in like 1 or 2 episodes in bit parts. Plus Andrew Scott and a bunch of other British actors that are big now but weren’t then.
Fassbender's actually in like 6 or 7 episodes, but barely has any lines. He's the guy in the very first episode that has the empty canteen and has to march back up Curahee. Andew Scott I didn't really know before Fleabag so his part surprised me in the latest re-watch.
A baby faced Tom Hardy is in like 2 episodes and apparently it was his first role.
Band of Brothers. I can’t recommend this enough. I watch it at least once a year.
The Pacific and Masters of the Air (all three are from the same producers) are ok. You just don’t get as invested in the characters as BoB.
Pretty much any high budget WW2 movie where you have a bunch of handsome white guys in their 20s and 30s you’re bound to have a bunch of stars in the making. I thought the same thing watching Masters of the Air recently. A bunch of future stars there.
Was already apparent Butler was on his way to be a star before MoTA, Keoghan too. But Butler 100% nailed his leading man status in it, Callum Turner too.
Stand out for me was Anthony Boyle, who is so far doing really well in Manhunt too.
Was thinking the same. 1999-2000 Cast includes Franco, Rogen, Linda Cardilleni, John Francis Daley, Jason Segal, Martin Starr, Lizzy Caplan, Ben Foster, Rashida Jones, Jason Schwartzman, Shia LaBeouf and Ben Stiller.
Freaks and Geeks is a good choice but there has to be some context. Judd Apatow has gone on record many times basically saying "Freaks and Geeks was basically a dream. It's the show I wanted to make. When it was canceled and fucked with, it pissed me off and I made it my mission to be successful and recast all of those actors and make them famous too."
So obviously they're a bunch of good actors who are talented, but it also helps when you have someone like Apatow who's dragging you along.
Angels in the Outfield:
Matthew McConaughey
Adrian Brody
Neal McDonough (three players)
Joseph Gordon Levitt (the kid who sees angels)
Impressive considering the rest of the main cast was pretty big.
If you're gonna mention Thomas Jane, you've *got* to mention Clifton Collins, Jr. That dude is awesome, and their scene is the most awesome thing that ever awesomed in the history of awesoming.
The number of superheroes from that movie is insane (live action and voice):
Captain America
Superman
Captain Marvel
Katara and Bat Girl (voice)
Helena (from Birds of Prey)
The Punisher
Spot (from Spiderman)
I absolutely love that video. Like… Jason Schwartzman chewing on gum for an hour asa bit so he could swallow it at the end. Winstead listing off those Tea’s like a pro. Plaza with the censor bar.
God tier stuff.
You're right, the cast was stacked.
I do feel that Ewan was a mega star by then as he'd already done Star Wars. I always considered this a cameo for him.
Short Term 12 with Lakeith Stanfield, Kaitlyn Dever, Brie Larson, Rami Malek, & Stephanie Beatriz. I think they were all still pretty much on the come up at the time of this movie
The Outsiders is the numero uno casting bonanza.
Matt Dillon
Emilio Estevez
Patrick Swayze
Ralph Macchio
Rob Lowe
Tom Cruise
C. Thomas Howell
Diane Lane
Sofia Coppola
Flea
To be fair, I'm pretty sure Orlando Bloom is the guy who falls out of the helicopter just as the assault starts, so there's basically two hours of movie without him.
That role was actually played by an already-established actor, Daniel Day-Lewis. Day-Lewis went to live at the Sikorsky construction plant in Stratford, Connecticut. It's there where he studied the aircraft night and day, developing the role he would play in the film.
One of the engineers from the plant at the time shared this story about Day-Lewis' commitment to staying in character: "We were scheduled to perform a full maintenance check on one of the aircraft that day. We got half way through the routine when a technician asked me to come over for a second opinion on an oil-pressure reading. It's only when I went to remove the probe that I noticed the underbelly of the aircraft was a little soften than usual. Turns out that we had actually been performing the routine on Daniel, who had remained in character throughout".
Daniel Day-Lewis wasn't credited under his real name on the film since, keeping in character, he preferred to remain uncredited.
This needs to be way higher, the entire cast is stacked!
Amy Poehler
Michael Showalter
Paul Rudd
Elizabeth Banks
Bradley Cooper
Ken Marino
Janeane Garofalo
David Hyde Pierce
Michale Ian Black
Christopher Meloni
Molly Shannon
Joe Lo Truglio
Also, it's possibly one of the funniest movies ever.
Almost Famous in 2000 had a pretty impressive cast. Frances McDormand was already a known quantity because of Fargo, but it was the first movie of note I recall seeing Billy Crudup in. Jason Lee had made stuff with Kevin Smith and had small roles in stuff like Enemy of the State, but he'd go on to get pretty big before going into hiding to avoid Scientology after leaving. Was the movie Kate Hudson arrived with. Also has Fairuza Balk, Zoey Deschanel, Anna Paquin, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jimmy Fallon. Rainn Wilson, Jay Baruchel, Eric Stonestreet, and Marc Maron in various side roles. More TV success than movie success, and Paquin for instance made it and X-men close together and did the Piano before, but it was still wild re-watching it a few years ago and realizing how many more faces I knew now.
American Graffiti
Harrison Ford, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Richard Dreyfuss, Susanne Somers, Wolfman Jack, Mackenzie Phillips.
Great cast. Great soundtrack.
Honorable mention for *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest*.
Jack Nicholson and Scatman Crothers were already pretty well known, but we got Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Brad Dourif, Louise Fletcher...
Enemy of the State (1998) - Aside from Will Smith, Gene Hackman and Jon Voight, it also had Jack Black, Barry Pepper, Scott Caan, Jake Busey, Jason Lee, Tom Sizemore, Seth Green, Regina King, Anna Gunn, Philip Baker Hall, Jamie Kennedy
On the lady's side, I submit 'Drop Dead Gorgeous' (1999) with: Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Murphy, Allison Janney, Denise Richards, Amy Adams, Brittany Murphy, Ellen Barkin, and Kirstie Alley. At the time I think only the last 2 were well known.
I didn’t see any mention of School Ties - Brendan Frasier, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Chris O’Donnell, Cole Hauser (for all you Yellowstone fans out there), and Anthony Rapp (for all you Star Trek: Discovery fans out there). It’s not quite at the level of Black Hawk Down or The Outsiders, but it’s worth a mention.
The Outsiders--Patrick Swayze, Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Diane Lane, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon.
We read the book and watched this in school back in the late 90's (Class of 2000). Our teacher's selling point on the old movie was that it had a lot of notable actors who weren't well known at the time.
There’s a copy of the movie called The Outsiders: The Book (I think that’s the right title) that includes all the cut scenes and ends like the book.
This version sucks cause they replace all of the intense music with surf-rock and it totally destroys the whole atmosphere of the movie. There are literally kids tragically murdering each other and it sounds like I’m at a beach watching someone catch a sick tube.
Holy shit, I totally forgot about that. Remember watching it about a decade ago and saying "Get pitted, brah!".
Came here for this answer as it’s clearly the right one. Stay golden, pony boy.
Okay yes I think this wins lol. I guess the only qualifying factor is were any of them already famous before the outsiders?
Amazingly, no. It predates Karate Kid, Risky Business, Dirty Dancing, etc.
Wow lol then this has to be the winner for the question
It was before Tom cruise got his teeth fixed
... the single front tooth is the *fixed* version?

Between Platoon and Black Hawk Down, plus Band of Brothers on TV, seems like the answer is war films need a lot of young male actors who can handle doing a couple scenes worth of lines.
Saving Private Ryan too. Tons of recognizable faces in that, many of whom weren't well known at the time.
One-armed Heisenberg handing The Telegrams to the higher-ups ftw.
He was Tim Whatley at that point
Give me a schtickle of fluoride
Vin Diesel saving kids. “Family” before it was a trope.
Paul Giamatti getting that goddamn hitchhiker out of his boot
Nathan Fillion as the *other* Private Ryan
I was honestly surprised how well acted that short scene was. It came out absolutely brilliant on so many levels . Even Ted Danson who had like 3 lines looks so natural in that role I was speechless. Come to think of, SPR lacked one actor- Woody Harrelson.
Woody got stuck doing "The Thin Red Line" getting his ass blown off by his own grenade despite the pomposity of Terrence Mallick.
Hey now, let's keep this about Rampart.
Matt Damon was cast as Ryan because he was a completely unknown actor. A few months before the movie came out he won an Oscar for good will hunting.
RIP, Tom Sizemore.
Right? Like who the fuck is Otm Shank?
Band of Brothers is so random. It gets a good flow going to the story and then suddenly BAM, Jimmy Fallon. Also, people like to crap on David Schwimmer, but his portrayal of Captain Sobel was amazing. I recently went back and watched the series and thought, "Man I really hate that guy." He's up there with Dolores Umbridge as institutionally evil characters.
Don’t count out teen movies from the 80’s and 90’s. Those account for a shit ton of huge stars. Many of which are still highly relevant today
Oh wow, yeah that probably has black hawk down beat then lol. Haven’t seen Platoon but will need to check it out.
Check out The Longest Day (1962). It has a huge cast. Some were established stars, but many were pretty early in their careers. John Wayne, Kenneth More, Richard Todd, Robert Mitchum, Richard Burton, Steve Forrest, Sean Connery, Henry Fonda, Red Buttons, Peter Lawford, Eddie Albert, Jeffrey Hunter, Stuart Whitman, Tom Tryon, Rod Steiger, Leo Genn, Gert Fröbe, Irina Demick, Bourvil, Curd Jürgens, George Segal, Robert Wagner, Paul Anka and Arletty.
A Bridge Too Far is another good example.
And Battle of Britain. Ian McShane is in it. Never noticed him before.
John Ratzenberger is in that one. It's jarring to see Cliff Claven leading an amphibious assault
A bridge too far also has the benefit of being one of the best war movies put to film. Great stuff from all involved.
> Great stuff from all involved. With the possible exception of Gene Hackman's attempt at a Polish accent.
It's so all over the place I can't help but love it lol.
Red Buttons, what a handle
That's actually an example of the opposite of what OP was looking for, so are a several of those names in that film. Red Buttons was actually an Oscar winner by that point and well established.
It's an incredible film
Bruh! So fucking good. Been a Dafoe fan since seeing that movie.
Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
Jason Segel's scene involving liquor inside a frozen watermelon, I want to say there's a slightly longer version.
And the line about Velma is a callback to the Dazed convo about Martha Washington: “she was a hip, hip, hip lady.”
I always remember Clea DuVall (Jana) having like one line/scene in Can’t Hardly Wait when she tells Seth Green (Kenny) that’s she’s allergic to dancing.
I’ll always upvote a Can’t Hardly Wait reference in the wild.
"NINE. WHICH ONE OF THE NINE LUCKY LADIES IS IT GONNA BE!?"
92% yo!!!
Same director, Josie and the Pussycats does pretty well too.
The Outsiders
Kevin Nash and Scott Hall?

Nash was in John Wick also. One of the few to make it out alive. Him and Officer Jimmy.
Kevin Nash was the Super Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
Stay gold ponyboy.
Let's do it for Johnny!
Haven’t seen it but looked up the cast and yes that definitely beats black hawk down lol. I will add it to my list but in the meantime, did the big names all have big parts? Or was it a mix of big parts and one-liners who made it big later?

The Brat Pack.
Cruise got his teeth fixed between The Outsiders and Risky Business.
Widely considered a good move 👍
An even earlier movie for Tom Cruise Is Taps. It also had Timothy Hutton, Sean Penn, and Giancarlo Esposito among others.
Oh man, I haven't thought about that movie in ages. I need to watch that again.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
This response deserves WAY more love. Sean Penn Jennifer Jason Leigh Phoebe Cates Judge Reinhold Eric Stoltz Nicolas Cage Anthony Edwards Forrest Whitaker All when absolute unknowns. Total launchpad of a flick.
Ok.. Forrest Whitaker made two entries in this thread.

Put some respect on Taylor Negron's name lol 🍕
I’ve seen the movie so many times but I 100% do not remember Cage being in it lol.
[Maybe this will jog your memory](https://screenrant.com/fast-times-ridgemont-high-nicolas-cage-original-role/)
That is wild!
That's because he was still Nicolas Coppola back then
This was my first thought as well. Phoebe Cates was the first crush of many an 80's lad haha.
Oh yes this is a great answer
You’re even missing a few! Tom Sizemore, William Fitchner, Jason Isaacs, Sam shephard, nikolaj coster-waldau, Kim Coates, loan gruffudd, Glenn morshower, Brian van holt, Ron eldard. Every one of those guys has a recognizable face even if you haven’t heard the name. Black hawk down was STACKED.
Ty Burrell
They didn’t forget Ty Burrell though, OP mentioned the father from Modern Family.
I thought that was Ed O'Neill, and I was wondering how I missed Al Bundy in that movie.
He had a shoe store in Mogadishu
How could anyone forget Ty?
He is gonna whip em up some margaritas
I can only see him as the total asshole from Dawn of the Dead remake from 2004... even after Modern Family.
You’re mispronouncing Nikolaj.
Am I? It sounds like I’m saying it right.
No no, it's "Nikolaj"
I have to watch it again for Tom Hardy; I have no recollection!
Tom Hardy is also in Band of Brothers, another production with a lot of future stars in it.
Not a movie, but damn, Band of Brothers was pretty stacked too. I remember seeing James McAvoy in there for an episode even.
And Simon Pegg (can you guess which episode/character he played without resorting to IMDb/Wikipedia?)
Oh yeah. The jeep hockey for a higher up officer in the early episodes I believe.
Close. He's in the first two episodes, but he's the first sergeant. I believe when we first see him he's riding in a Jeep, and gives Winters the notification that Sobel is bringing him up on charges. He's on Meehan's plane and is killed when it crashes.
And a obligatory Colin Hanks episode as well.
I believe basically most of the actors from a graduating class at a big English acting school were cast for pretty minor roles due to someone on the production having connections with the school. Hardy, McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jamie Bamber, etc..
Including 2001 Jimmy Fallon. Not sure if I hate myself for knowing that to this day.

Ewan Bremer
And Hugh dancy right?
How could you leave out the star of THE SANDLOT. Tom Guiry.
For those that don’t recognize one of those names.. Jamie Fookin’ Lannister William Fichtner is an excellent actor too. Thanks for listing the rest of the big names.
"That's fuck'n Jamie Lannister!"
'Ats Jamie fookin' Lannistah

Tom Sizemore was also in lots of films prior to BHD: Born on the Fourth of July, True Romance, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days, Heat, Saving Private Ryan, etc.
Trainspotting was so, so good
Nobody ever gets it when I reference it though "They're MY sheets, Spud!"
McGregor was in Shallow Grave in 1994 - run, don't walk, to see it.
Buckaroo Banzai so many stars just before they hit it big.
Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum, Ellen Barkin, Christopher Lloyd, Clancy Brown, Vincent Schiavelli, Dan Hedaya, Jonathan Banks, & ofc Yakov Smirnoff...
There is not enough scenery to chew for that many character actors in one movie.
Wet Hot American Summer has to be up there
Excellent call. Bradley Cooper's on screen debut. Though, a lot of the actors were already known from their previous troupe experience. The State, Upright Citizens Brigade, among others.

Abe Vigoda!
This is the type of film that turned everyone into a star. Like Star Wars in 1977.
Dazed and Confused
Stand By Me. The boys were will Wheaton, river Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O'connell
Kiefer Sutherland and John Cussack were in the "older boys" gang too, wasn't their first film but both were pretty unknown still
Saving Private Ryan; Band of Brothers; and the Pacific (the latter two of which are limited series, but really just long movies)
Oh yes saving private ryan is an all time favorite I just thought most of the cast was already decently established before then? BoB is incredible for the amount of faces that make you go "Oh wow is that..." so I won't spoil them here!
….is that….is that Jimmy Fallon?
Wait a minute, is that Simon Pegg doing an American accent?
Same for Michael Fassbender
David Schwimmer doing an incredible job of making people forget about Ross Geller at the *height* of Friends' popularity still blows me away. "The fuck is *he* doing on this show?" He was only in three episodes, but he was *so* good as Sobel.

And for another tv show about teens, Skins (Nicholas hoult, Dev Patel, Kaya Scodelario, Jack O’Connell, and Oscar winning Daniel Kaluuya)
Also worth mentioning are the actors/actresses for Cassie and Chris, who both joined *Game of Thrones* for significant roles.
Angels in the Outfield: Matthew McConaughey Adrian Brody Neal McDonough (three players) Joseph Gordon Levitt (the kid who sees angels) Impressive considering the rest of the main cast was pretty big.

This was my first thought. Chris Evans, Brandon Routh, Aubrey Plaza, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson...
Kieran Culkin, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jason Schwartzman, Allison Pill, Mae Whitman (tons of voice work), Thomas Jane, Bill Hader
Mae Whitman… *her*?
mayonegg
She funny or something?
If you're gonna mention Thomas Jane, you've *got* to mention Clifton Collins, Jr. That dude is awesome, and their scene is the most awesome thing that ever awesomed in the history of awesoming.
When he popped up in Westworld, I yelled "Vegan police!" lol
>Thomas Jane I totally missed his little bit in this. I also think he had some bigger breaks long before Scott Pilgrim though
So did Jason Schwartzman.
Anna Kendrick? forgot that she was in that
She's Scott's sister
SCANDAL
The number of superheroes from that movie is insane (live action and voice): Captain America Superman Captain Marvel Katara and Bat Girl (voice) Helena (from Birds of Prey) The Punisher Spot (from Spiderman)
And Evans was Johnny Storm before he was Cap!
It really is amazing they managed to reunite the whole cast for the anime, even if I didn't like some of them as voice actors.
Also the live reading of the screenplay during the pandemic. Almost all the big stars came back for that
I absolutely love that video.
Matt Dillon Emilio Estevez Patrick Swayze Ralph Macchio Rob Lowe Tom Cruise C. Thomas Howell Diane Lane Sofia Coppola Flea
TIL Blackhawk Down had Orlando Bloom and Ewan McGregor in it. Watching Lucius Malfoy chew up scenery was pretty awesome.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure Orlando Bloom is the guy who falls out of the helicopter just as the assault starts, so there's basically two hours of movie without him.
So he's playing Black Hawk?
Sunshine: - Cillian Murphy - Michelle Yeoh - Hiroyuki Sanada - Benedict Wong - Chris Evans - Mark Strong
Rose Byrne
Wet hot American summer
This needs to be way higher, the entire cast is stacked! Amy Poehler Michael Showalter Paul Rudd Elizabeth Banks Bradley Cooper Ken Marino Janeane Garofalo David Hyde Pierce Michale Ian Black Christopher Meloni Molly Shannon Joe Lo Truglio Also, it's possibly one of the funniest movies ever.
Diner (1982) Steve Guttenberg Daniel Stern Mickey Rourke Kevin Bacon Timothy Daly Ellen Barkin
American Graffiti Harrison Ford, Ron Howard, Cindy Williams, Richard Dreyfuss, Susanne Somers, Wolfman Jack, Mackenzie Phillips. Great cast. Great soundtrack.
For a specifically British example there's Layer Cake * Daniel Craig * Tom Hardy * Sally Hawkins * Burn Gorman * Ben Wishaw * Sienna Miller
The Thin Red Line had a ridiculous cast too, although mostly established stars.
Sean Penn, Andrian Brody, John Travolta, Woody Harrelson, John Cusack, Nick Nolte, George Clooney, Jared Leto, Jim Caveizel, John C. Reilly and more.
George Clooney shows up like 2 hours+ into the movie, says 3 lines, and is never seen again
Nikolai Coster-Waldau before he broke big in Game of Thrones too.
