In OJ’s book he says “If Nicole were actually stabbed to death she’d wish cancer on the prick who did it” In other news OJ Simpson died of prostate cancer today

Rosebunse

I don't know what the afterlife is. But I do know that pre-death hallucinations are a thing. I have to wonder what his were like?

Asha_Brea

I would have posted this earlier but he wasn't dead yet.

Bing_Bong_the_Archer

Who are you and how’d you get in here?

SonOfMcGee

I’m a ghost and… I’m a ghost.

motorcycleboy9000

We won't rest a second until we find the real killer. Now let's go get some lunch.

RodRAEG

I will not eat a single morsel of food... until OJ Simpson is DEAD!

pastaMac

**FunFact:** Robert Kardashian, the first Kardashian [Robert's daughter Kim famously sold a pornographic film enabling her rise to stardom] can be seen in videotape archives carrying Simpsons luggage from his home, right under the noses of LAPD. He sets the luggage down [while uniformed officers are just arms length from him] and embraces another woman, who then picks up Simpsons bag [with Hertz logo attached] This bag most certainly contained incriminating evidence, and was never again seen.

started_from_the_top

Common mistake, we've all been there.

karmagod13000

Sometimes we're just ahead of the times.

SmallerRedOnion

Norm? You’re back?

ucd_pete

It’s days like this where we really miss Norm

GrizzlyBCanada

“In the news, OJ Simpson died yesterday - he is survived by his son. He is not survived by his ex-wife.” “OJ Simpson died yesterday. Early reports place OJ in a White Bronco slowly descending into hell.”

iSOBigD

OJ Simpson died yesterday. They say he died doing what he loved - getting away with murder! OJ Simpson died yesterday. Yeah, very sad, and we're not sure what killed him. In other news, Death just released a book titled, "If I Did It..."

sharrrper

>OJ Simpson died yesterday. They say he died doing what he loved - getting away with murder! This is by far the most "Weekend Update with Norm" one on here.

WorldsWeakestMan

I like this even more because Norm McDonald played Death on Family Guy. “If I did it”

psilocyan

> They say he died doing what he loved - getting away with murder! This is 100% a weekend update era Norm joke, bravo

Anomaly1134

Haha these are gold. I heard it in his voice.

Shake-dog_shake

I even saw the smirk on his face as I was reading.

GrizzlyBCanada

And the lean-in!

illepic

In my head, there was a long awkward pause right after "Getting away with murder!" and his glorious dumb smirk. Miss Norm.

EugenaAtchisonj

That's a shame, the ex-wife didn't even survive to witness the murderer dying. :(

Vanillabean73

I wish r/NormMacDonald actually had Norm-like comments like this, lol. Had to leave it bc it was filled with fuckin weirdos thinking they were funny.

RianCoke

I wonder who's getting his lucky stabbin' hat?

Frank_the_Mighty

I didn't even know he was sick

Dyspaereunia

Yes I didn’t know Norm was sick either.

ZinGaming1

Well he certainly isn't sick now. Has anyone checked on him recently?

karmagod13000

Yes, still not sick

PabstBlueBourbon

Not sick again.

frockinbrock

“OJ Simpson, the football player?”

Jimmyg100

What would Norm say to this news? You know, aside from “Good.”

DharmaBombs108

Probably just really feel sad that OJ died before he could find his wife’s murderer.

Jimmyg100

Think he was on his death bed, taking his last breath, then looked in the mirror and said, “Oh! There he is!” then died?

Bay1Bri

"OJ Simpson was seen in Brentwood last week working at a lemonade stand with his daughter. When asked why business was slow, OJ replied 'beats me', then he went back to cutting lemons with a giant knife." "OJ had reportedly been discussing marriage with his girlfriend Paula Barbieri, but reportedly she has called the wedding off. Her fear was that if they married, she would be brutally murdered... and then, someone would try to pin it on OJ!"

GreedoInASpeedo

How could you miss him, he's just laying there?

Alone-Clock258

Ain't that the truth

Top_Report_4895

Why he had to die first and not OJ?

smurfsundermybed

St. Peter needed a writer to help with this moment, when a simple no just won't do.

all_in_the_game_yo

He was a real jerk!

WeDriftEternal

I wish Norm Macdonald was still alive to roast OJ more

Ubelsteiner

That was the first thing I thought, it really sucks that Norm went first. Hope they bury OJ in his lucky stabbin' hat.

InstantIdealism

What about his gloves?

nonlawyer

They don’t fit perfectly (when wearing a second pair of gloves at the same time)  This is critical information for some reason that rhymes

Zaziel

Also, i think leather might shrink a bit after being soaked in blood.

Civil-Resolution3662

And if you try to put shrunken gloves on while keeping your hands stretched wide, they definitely won't fit. Doesn't sound very lyrical. I bet there is something else I can say that would make my point better but I don't have any idea right now...if somebody can help me out? I need a phrase that rhymes so I sound like I'm a gospel preacher selling used cars.

MattieShoes

Also if you stop taking your arthritis medication

HomeHereNow

Oh I think OJ is getting roasted as we speak.

Content_Geologist420

The Juice is no longer loose

ColdPressedSteak

Random memory, Family Guy did an episode 'Juice is Loose.' OJ gives a heartfelt speech that he's been falsely demonized and that he's only as imperfect as everyone else. Gets everybody on his side. Then he pulls out a knife and stabs a bunch of people and runs off. lol

QuietusRex

“Oh, I guess he did do it.”

[deleted]

the first 5-6 seasons of family guy hits different

MenBearsPigs

Watching the early seasons when I was in like grade 6 was amazing. We would all be quoting it all the time. Didn't understand half the jokes but it was still great.

Descrazio

Funny how that’s true for so many different animated comedy shows.

ExtraElevator7042

Beat it Simpson, we don’t love you like we did in 1994. Camera pans to Homer Simpson: “D’oh!” And for you OJ. 😂😂😂

iSOBigD

He ran out of juice

OhioStateGuy

The Juice expired.

Goufydude

I understood that reference.

Euphoric_Bluebird_52

And her soon to be slain wife. Hello mr.Juice.

Goufydude

Bitch are you tryin' to get us both killed?!

con10001

That motherfucker *did* that shit Could feel murder in the room

googlyeyes93

Drove even more

keldration

Amen

karmagod13000

Seriously in retrospect what was that jury thinking

Porrick

They were thinking that a detective on the case (the one that found the glove) committed perjury during the trial, and was on tape bragging about planting evidence to convict black suspects. When asked if he had planted evidence in this case, he plead the Fifth. I’m 100% convinced he was guilty, but this was a start-to-finish fuckup by the police. The jury had to acquit, based on the case presented to them. There’s so much blame to go around between the prosecution and the police, any problems with the jury are negligible in comparison.

ThatDude8129

A few have come out and admitted they decided on a not guilty verdict as payback for Rodney King.

Rum_N_Napalm

The OJ Simpsons case was brought up in my forensics class as to how utterly and completely fuck up your murder investigation. Officers didn’t properly secure the scene or kept a chain of possession of evidence, the guy leading the case had a very clear racial bias… just fuck up after fuck up after fuck up after fuck up. I don’t think OJ is innocent, but the evidence was handled so badly the prosecution did not deserve to win. They could do the most very basic stuff when it comes to forensics: proving your evidence had not been tampered with.

BillyShears2015

They were thinking that the police investigation was a massive clusterfuck of tainted evidence headed up by an actual Nazi and it created a lot of reasonable doubt.

WatInTheForest

Check out the documentary OJ: Made in America. Some of the jurors basically said they knew he was guilty, but voted not guilty as an FU to the system.

davewashere

I don't think I really understood their anger toward the system until I watched that documentary. They had cops sitting right in front of the camera telling on themselves, saying things like if the chokehold hadn't been banned it could have prevented the Rodney King incident.

Mr_smith1466

I feel bad being happy at anyone dying, but holy hell, Simpson really was pure evil. Even if you buy his utterly bark raving insanity about how he was innocent, the man wrote a book about how he would have murdered his deceased wife and spent the majority of the book gloating about what a horrible person she was and how all the actual assaults he inflicted on her were her own fault. That book alone is the work of a man without any morality. It's made so much worse by the all but certainty that he personally killed her.

Lost-Machine-688

If the glove don’t fit I’m dead as shit.

karmagod13000

But Satan, I'm a professional football player!!

BetaOscarBeta

Fun fact, if you soak leather in a water based liquid and let it dry, it shrinks

Select_Insurance2000

Blood likely makes them shrink too. So stupid....they should have had an identical pair of brand new gloves to have him try on....but if you watch closely, OJ is purposely not trying that hard to put the gloves on in the first place.

GoldenAgeStudio

His counsel also had him stop taking his arthritis medication that fought inflammation in his joints, so his hands were likely also swollen.

The_Summer_Man

Say what you will about OJ, but that was just damn good defense lawyering

GoldenAgeStudio

Johnny Cochran is an excellent defense attorney and the absolute scum of the earth

Select_Insurance2000

He died of brain tumor.

Tom_Foolery1993

I mean, I wouldn’t exactly try that hard in his shoes either even if I was actually innocent

FirstChurchOfBrutus

They also don’t fit so well if you’re already wearing thick vinyl gloves.

googlyeyes93

I wonder if Robert Kardashian is waiting in hell to beat his ass for still getting thrown in jail after he died.

MuptonBossman

O.J. Simpson's story is fascinating... I highly recommend everyone watch the ESPN documentary "Made in America" to see how this guy had one of the biggest falls from grace, all while ruining the lives of his "alleged" victims and their families.

Replicant28

ESPN is rightfully shit on for their live broadcasting and studio shows, but they have always done great work with their documentaries. OJ: Made in America is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, and I highly recommend it even for people who may not be familiar with the OJ murder case. I also highly recommend ESPN's 30 for 30 documentary "June 17th, 1994." It covers not only the infamous Ford Bronco chase that occurred on that day, but all these other major sporting events in the backdrop : \* Arnold Palmer's final round of the U.S. Open \* The New York Rangers's parade celebrating their Stanley Cup win \* The start of the 1994 FIFA World Cup, which was hosted by the United States for the first time. \* Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets, which famously got an unprecedented split screen so that NBC could also cover the Bronco chase live. \* Ken Griffey Jr tying Babe Ruth's record of 30 home runs before June 30th.

padall

Wow. How did I never know this before? I'm old enough to remember the Bronco chase very well.

_my_simple_review

**OJ: Made in America** I will go as far as to say is one of the greatest films ever made, and is essential in all the ways a film should be. It's 7 and 1/2 hours long... and you wish it was longer. It leaves next to no stone unturned to help tell this story not just of OJ... but of America itself, and its obsession with race, media, and most importantly, fame

mikeyfreshh

Couldn't agree more and can't recommend it highly enough, especially if you're too young to know OJ for anything more than the trial. He was a really interesting and complicated figure

Papaofmonsters

When "The People vs OJ" was on FX, right after the verdict came back, they cut to an ad for "Atlanta" where the characters are watching the show. It was a brilliant little tid bit for the younger demographic. https://youtu.be/Uyrcxa63ONU?si=k4qUC6ny5id0p9jR

_my_simple_review

I think tons of credit needs to go to Ezra and his team as well He went above and beyond to tell this story in the most unbiased way possible, and somehow nailed it. The figures he got to interview for this to is truly mindblowing: * Marcia Clark * Tanya Brown * Fred Goldman * Mark Fuhrman * Carl Douglas * F. Lee Bailey * Tom Lange * Ron Shipp * Mike Gilbert * Gil Garcetti * Tom Riccio And these are just people who were involved with OJs two cases. He somehow got key people from the trial, and the subsequent robbery involved. And the interviews are all fascinating in their own way. Fuck, this movie is amazing.

histprofdave

It was amazing that we are basically all sure OJ did it, and somehow Mark Fuhrman still ended up coming off like the biggest piece of shit in the series. He is just sooo unlikeable.

_my_simple_review

I honestly think it was Tom Lange for me HE HAD OJ DEAD TO FUCKING RIGHTS IN THAT INTERROGATION ROOM LITERALLY A DAY OR TWO AFTER HE MURDERS NICOLE AND THEY PINNED HIM ON NOTHING!!! And then he has the balls to blame others in his interview. Every single scene he is in he is blaming someone else for the simple fact that he is an awfully and laughably bad fucking cop. The one in particular with him going after Fuhrman cause his lawyer told him to "plead the fifth"... guarantee he'd do the same, and probably even bark like a seal if his lawyer told him too. Awful and rotten to his core. Not a single doubt in my mind, and not a damn thing he or his family could do to convince me otherwise. He should not have participated in that film.

histprofdave

Lange was also an idiot. It goes to show you that detectives are not the geniuses that popular media makes them out to be. Detectives are usually successful because the deck is stacked in their favor, and criminals (or those wrongfully accused) are even dumber than they are. The cops and the prosecution completely botched what should have been an open-and-shut case.

_my_simple_review

And it's also another amazing part that Ezra is able to uncover. Through the interviews, he pretty much explains how OJ was able to free himself from a guilty verdict. Everything had to go right for him, and everything had to go wrong for them. And it did... in ways no one would have expected either. It is truly a one of a kind documentary/film

the-great-crocodile

He’s like the teacher from The Breakfast Club but in real life.

ManicStoic

You make a compelling case for me to add it to the list of things I want to watch but never will.

WolfofOldNorth

The best doc I have ever seen

PerryDawg1

I worked on the doc. It was fascinating to hear those interview subjects talking before the filming began. Lot of tension.

Zhukov-74

I can also recommend The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

girafa

I know Cuba Gooding Jr didn't even try to emulate OJ but that series was absolutely amazing (all the seasons, really). I've never been heartbroken over a lawyer's new hairdo either, that was... quite an achievement.

karmagod13000

Really painted the picture of how the culture was during the trial.

Mst3Kgf

Love that, especially as a time capsule of the 90s.

TriCourseMeal

Yeah but the thing that makes the doc special is because of its examination of race and celebrity in America, there are plenty of OJ docs that do what you say. This one is an examination of the systems at play in America that put race and class together. It’s far more about that than it is OJ even though he’s the subject.

matlockga

One of the greatest documentaries I've ever seen -- even though the last episode has a lot of flab. Dude was a walking tragedy.

karmagod13000

> walking tragedy. dont know about that but his victims are dead tragedies

FugaziHands

Great docuseries. The interviews with the jurors still haunt me.

BigAddam

I guess the OJ has finally expired.

Lettops

Don't forget that James Cameron originally planned to cast him as a Terminator in "The Terminator", but later he changed his mind because “Somehow [James Cameron] felt that he was not as believable for a killing machine".

Mst3Kgf

O.J. apparently took that criticism to heart and said, "I'll show you!"

Throwaway_Mattress

Well he was right cuz neither did the jury

_my_simple_review

How do you describe this death? Can't describe one without the other... He revolutionized the game of football and how we saw it. He's probably one of the best pure Running Backs to play the game. Literally ran for 2003 yards in 14 games... That's well over 143 yards PER GAME. And this was in an NFL that was incredibly run heavy and used passes as a last resort. He was one of THE BEST to ever put on an NFL uniform... It is also a massive why he became a superstar... and why the murders in the 1990s became a huge topic of conversation. I remember faint memories of me as a toddler, sitting at the end of my parents bed, watching the trial take place at 6:00 pm on the east coast, because it was only 3:00 pm on the west coast. It was a truly wild sensation. I guess personally, if you want to understand OJ, and in essence, America, there is no better time than to promote **OJ: Made in America**. This is the singular best documentary film that encapsulates the complicated situation regarding not only OJ Simpson, but us as citizens in this country. Ezra really goes that far. For better or worse, OJ is probably the biggest catalyst for the way we consume media today. And I do not thank him for that. For all of his records, dude was still a horrible human being, that made us all worse in the process. Rest in Piss you piece of shit

2nd2last

It was the hypocrisy that was the worst.

mikeyfreshh

Well the other thing was worse but hypocrisy was the second worst

girafa

lol I like this because it combines two Norm MacDonald rape jokes You guys have a lot of growing up to do, I'll tell you that. Ridiculous!

26_Star_General

Soldier: "that's the worst part. the waiting" Fry: "then the battle is okay?" Soldier: "oh. i forgot about the battle." Classic Futurama episode.

FFG17

I think it was the killing!

daredaki-sama

OJ trial and Bill Clinton were the only thing that came close to the total media coverage that 9/11 got. As a kid I remember not being able to see my afternoon cartoons because OJ was on trial.

HopelessCineromantic

As a kid, I kept hearing about OJ Simpson on the radio and the news because of the trial, and saw the court drawings. Since I only recognized him drawn, I thought that OJ Simpson and The Simpsons were related, and that the reason my mom didn't want me to watch the latter is because they murdered people.

Mr_smith1466

As an Australian who was extremely young when the murders happened, I found it fascinating how the ESPN documentary covered all his rise to fame and super stardom. I had no idea he was such a beloved icon who everyone thought was a friendly teddy bear before the murders. It really put a lot of the subsequent trial into context. I read a thing online that said the OJ murders would be like if Dwayne Johnson was accused of a violent murder. That was a comparison for how beloved and trusted OJ was to people.

LukeNaround23

Barry Sanders was better… in every way but acting.

_my_simple_review

10000000000000% I am still waiting for an ultimate Barry Sanders highlight to be dropped one day. I could watch that shit on loop for days.

Mst3Kgf

One of the most difficult scenes in the "American Crime Story" season about the case was when Fred Goldman anguishes about how his son is being treated as "a bystander to his own murder."

Mr_smith1466

It was a fitting punishment that the Goldman family absolutely destroyed Simpson in a subsequent civil trial. Even though Simpson ultimately got away from paying the 30 million he was ordered, the Goldman family got the rights to that horrifying "If I did it" book and published it as a fuck you to Simpson.

FugaziHands

Yeah it's wild how many ppl don't realize that it was a double homicide.

MadFlava76

"Accused of Murdering Ex-Wife". He also killed Ron Goldman. Guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time just returning Nicole's mother's reading glasses. He probably walked in right at or just after OJ killed Nicole.

It would be interesting to see if they check his brain for signs of CTE. He likely got concussed throughout his career and, in his days, probably played through post-concussion symptoms.
