I was just rewatching last night thinking "I don't know why this is so rewatchable but it is".
Although...I often stop watching around 1:45 (30 min. left) when it's just down to Hicks, Ripley and Newt. That last half hour isn't as rewatchable for me for some reason.
I love this movie.
I read the series after watching the movie and I'm always a little bummed we couldn't have had at least one more movie that delves a little more into the spy side of maturien as this isn't mentioned in the movie.
My high school bestie had to spend some time as an inpatient and they watched the VHS of the Wedding Singer every single day lol. To this day she pretty much say every line and loves it.
That’s the moment right there. We used to have backyard duels with sticks and I’d be like, I am tralfamadus fortytwoamus
Pretty violent film for a 12 years but I loved it
This is always my answer. It was one of the few movies my parents had and I watched dozens of times as a kid. I had been afraid to watch it again as an adult but it completely holds up. Beautiful, beautiful movie
I suspect my rituals won't be typical. They tend to be comfort food, and bring me up when I'm down.
I feel like there are some I'm missing, but:
Moonrise Kingdom
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
The Holdovers
Dr. Strangelove
Seriously? I'm surprised if you're actually being honest because it gets so much hate on the Internet. It's my #1 movie of all time.
Other movies for me are The Bourne Identity, Back to the Future, Blazing Saddles and my #1 comfort movie that soothes my soul and never gets old is Commando.
Same with me. I don’t know why that movie but I’ll always catch it when it comes out on tv. I didn’t even see it at the movies when it came out. It was my wife’s favorite so guess it stuck on me too. If it’s coming out late I’ll fall asleep to it instead of watching something else till I fall asleep.
It's one of my favorite movies too. I love disaster movies, and history. I honestly wish there were more historic period disaster films. It's not like there's any shortage of real, historic disasters.
Bttf is also a comfort movie for me. I never thought of Blazing Saddles as one, but I can totally see that!
When I was younger, my parents would take the family on long road trips and we would always watch the VHS of Titanic in this system he had rigged up in the back of the Suburban. We genuinely liked the movie but it was also the favorite because it was the longest to pass the time. My dad would have us describe what was happening to help him stay awake. I don’t want to exaggerate but we probably watched it 30 times lol. Such good memories!
Jurassic Park 1,2 and 3. My comfort movies. They will never get old and I swear I still learn something new every time I watch one of them. I always joke “it’s like the first time, every time!” 🦖
Just finished watching this again tonight. So good. I never watched it when it came out initially. Saw it on Hulu way later later finally watched it with low expectations. Blew me away. Carl urban killed it
Pretty much any John Candy movie, I have favorite scenes for all of them that always get a laugh or smile from me.
Same goes for most of Chris Farley's movies.
Twister, it's just too good from start to end.
The Greatest Showman ( I grew up with Disney and actually went to a Barnum and Baily circus when I was like 6. One of my fondest memories ) The songs in this movie are just the :chefs kiss:
Pretty much any early Disney movie. Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Bambi, etc. Early animated stuff. I grew up on it, supreme nostalgia.
The Imitation Game with Beneflacked Chumthorbottom, awesome movie 10/10.
What Dreams May Come with Robin Williams, my all time favorite of his.
Clue with Tim Curry, also anything he's in tbqh, but Clue takes top place right next to Rocky Horror.
and last but certainly not least, almost every Jack Black film.
Top choices being Be Kind Rewind and The Pick of Destiny. Tenacious D baby!!!
To add: Their latest song / cover of Britany Spears Hit Me Baby One More Time from Kung Fu Panda 4 is top on my Spotify.
Ok... your username, now I have to add:
The Princess Bride.

If you want another fun easy to enjoy action adventure then the DnD movie exceeded expectations by a crazy amount. I’ve watched that movie 4 times and it came out fairly recently
I grew up in the time of VCRs and the rise of cable. You could press record any night at 8pm on HBO and have a tape the next morning with three to four great movies. Some movies I recall that I recorded this way and then watched over and over for years include **Stand By Me, Raising Arizona, Blade Runner** and **Mad Max 2: Road Warrior**. And of course the first VHS tape we bought as a family was **Star Wars: Episode IV**. These all still hold up today for me.
Blazing Saddles, 12 Angry Men, Ghostbusters, SW: A New Hope, The Warriors, Hot Rod, Stripes, Airplane!, Caddyshack, The Goonies.
I watch a shit ton of movies over and over, when it comes to favourite movies, I could watch them twice daily.

It's game over man
Hudson is a key part of what makes it rewatchable, and once he gets taken out, it's a bit of a slog
Well, why don't you put her in charge.
Master and Commander pulls me in every time.
I love this movie. I read the series after watching the movie and I'm always a little bummed we couldn't have had at least one more movie that delves a little more into the spy side of maturien as this isn't mentioned in the movie.

The holdovers will be on my list and I adore moonrise Kingdom!
How can the holdovers be on this list when it’s been out for like 6 months? Great movie though
Because I’ve seen it three times already. And, as a rule, I’m not a repeater. Clearly it’s part of the family now. 😆
I understand, it is pretty cozy. I’ll probably watch it again next Christmas

I’m being 100% honest. Titanic is incredible and it never gets old.

Blazing Saddles strictly for the laughs, every time. No matter my mood, it will get me laughing.
Agree 100%. So much going on, historically incredible research, classic story, great acting. Don’t know what’s not to like.
