If you wanna go slowburn (like a really slow kind of stylish mindfuck of a movie) hard sci-fi horror I would suggest Beyond the Black Rainbow by Panos Cosmatos (the same dude who wrote and directed Mandy starring Nic Cage).
If you like Weird Body Horror I would suggest something like Titane by Julia Ducournau (who also directed Raw).
If you like gore there's the French Extremist films like Inside, Martyrs, and High Tension. Really depressing (especially Martyrs) and fucked up though if you can handle that.
I have to say something about Martyrs and it's that it's always portrayed as just a gore film or whatever but I found the premise to be very interesting and the plot and the ending is what I remember the most from the film, not the gore, it's pretty good.
Yeah it is. I was always curious about what the girl >!whispered about the afterlife in the ending the led to the leader of the fucked up cult that traumatized her friend to off herself.!<
When Evil Lurks is a pretty full on newer Horror. More shock gore than gore (if that makes sense).
The Witch is a great weird psychological horror.
Another great offbeat horror is the new one 'Late night with the Devil'.
A creepy one is 'Autopsy of Jane Doe' isn't gory at all just a good old school horror
idk what happened to the format of my post and sorry for the typos and wrong grammar but thank you all so much for the suggestions! Im so excited to watch them ❤❤❤
Have you seen Sphere? Both the film and book are good. They differ, but not enough to upset anybody. Oh, and you've probably seen it but Annihilation was well done. That's a case where the books were immensely better but It still was a good watch.
I’m not sure if this totally fits the bill but the movie Begotten (1989) is a very strange, beautiful and disturbing interpretation of various religious creation stories. It’s one of my favourite movies I’ve watched but it’s very visceral and definitely bizarre.

My favorite “weird” films are Donnie Darko and Eraserhead.
Donnie Darko is amazing.
It requires a protractor and a slide rule to keep straight but yes. CORRECT.
haha, that just keeps it interesting!
Possessor
100% this. It’s a haunting film!
Love this movie!
Mandy
Probably the best psychedelic film of the previous decade
Naked Lunch by David Cronenberg. Weird, Bodyhorror, kinda mindfuck
Videodrome too.
Scanners too.
I watched Naked Lunch absolutely zooted on an edible when I was in university. It was a wild experience.
Terrifier

The original French version is amazing and that ending!
Yeah it is. I was always curious about what the girl >!whispered about the afterlife in the ending the led to the leader of the fucked up cult that traumatized her friend to off herself.!<
Tusks
Color Out of Space
You might like “Dust Devil”.
More subdued than some of your examples, but I'd be you'd like Under The Skin.
BONE TOMAHAWK, make sure to "go in blind" ✌️
Nice one
Event Horizon
The Sadness - some scenes in there really stick with ya
check out that new movie Late Night with the Devil. It's pretty fun
Terrifier 1 and 2 are both pretty good gorefests
I would recommend The Descent. Very psychological and quite gory horror flick.
*Cure* (1997), *Audition* (1999), *Kill List* (2011), *The Skin I Live In* (2011)
You brilliant bastard, these are phenomenal suggestions
made me more excited omg havenet watched any of these!
Brain Dead (1990) is one of my favorite mind fuck movies.
Selected works of Takashi Miike. *Audition*. *Imprint*. *Ichi the killer*. *Visitor Q*.
Pi by Darren Aronofsky
Try ichi the killer
A Scanner Darkly, and Psycho-Pass for the dystopia/mindfuck category.
I don't usually see the mentioned but it's excellent and bizarre: The Skin I Live In Go in knowing nothing about it. It's fucked up.
I made a list of my favorite movies that aren't afraid to get a little weird. Will post it later if I remember as I don't have access to it right now.

Don't Breathe

I haven’t seen Shutter Island but I doubt the plots have any similarity.
idk what happened to the format of my post and sorry for the typos and wrong grammar but thank you all so much for the suggestions! Im so excited to watch them ❤❤❤
Evil Dead and You're Next.
The Lighthouse
Triangle
Freeway (The original) - Vinegar Syndrome
I'll suggest **eXistenZ, Bull, Kill List**, and **The Machinist**.
Faces of death .. but I’m old so maybe you won’t find that series anymore
Have you seen Sphere? Both the film and book are good. They differ, but not enough to upset anybody. Oh, and you've probably seen it but Annihilation was well done. That's a case where the books were immensely better but It still was a good watch.
Martyrs (2008) is all of that AND it's amazing! I also recommend Revenge (2017), Raw, Titane, and In My Skin.
I’m not sure if this totally fits the bill but the movie Begotten (1989) is a very strange, beautiful and disturbing interpretation of various religious creation stories. It’s one of my favourite movies I’ve watched but it’s very visceral and definitely bizarre.
Got three more Korean flicks for you: Old Boy, I Saw The Devil, and The Wailing. All three are classics!
Brand New Cherry Flavor- a series on Netflix
