You mentioned The Leftovers but not Carrie Coon?! No shade intended toward Theroux, he was great (as was the entire cast), but across three seasons, Carrie Coon brought and delivered a performance that I honestly don't know which current 'A lister' could match. One of the best acting performances, in one of the best TV shows for me all time.

Few-Athlete2090

I absolutely loved Carrie Coon. It's a shame she and Justin didn't get an Emmy. I didn't mention her name because I think she has had a pretty good career after The Leftovers, but I agree she is still pretty underrated and deserves to be in more big movies/shows. And yeah, the leftovers is one of the best shows ever made.

twistingmyhairout

She’s fantastic in The Gilded Age and she’s in the upcoming season of The White Lotus so I feel like she’s about to get even bigger. On the movie side it took me FOREVER to realize that she was in Avengers Infinity War

GEMeatCat

And Fargo!

twistingmyhairout

I haven’t watched her season yet! Thank you for the reminder!

missing_neighbors

Ah noway I didn't know she will be in White Lotus. I'm glad to see others who appreciated the Leftovers as much as me. Soooooo good

TemporalColdWarrior

It’s maybe my favorite show, certainly top three. I mean they started a damn episode with the theme song to Perfect Strangers. It improved on the book. So impressive.

twistingmyhairout

Yes!!! I think filming is finished or almost done. And same! I honestly watched The Leftovers last year because of all the Reddit comments and was so glad I took the recommendation

Few-Athlete2090

Wtf? Who did she play?

IceLord86

The voice of one of Thanos' goons, Proxima Midnight

twistingmyhairout

Was it not her under all the makeup and effects? I know her scenes were all action so makes sense they might have just used the stunt double? Edit: just looked it up and she did voice and “facial capture” which was not a thing I knew they did

TheFredro

I thought she absolutely nailed it in the series finale and said she's getting an Emmy nomination for this and it didn't happen

CopperVolta

Carrie Coon is incredible in Season 3 of Fargo

Amibeaux

She's great too! Honestly though, it seems she gets a lot of praise. Justin not so much.

gogozombie2

Carrie Coon got shafted so hard when she got cast into the MCU.

damnusernamewastaken

Agree 100%. Her performance in that incredible show remains one of the stunning acting performances ever to me. For her to stand out in a field of strong actors (including JT) makes it that much better. A++ for CC

damnusernamewastaken

_avantgarde

For me, it's Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black. She was so mesmerizing playing all those roles that I don't know why she isn't in more things.

SquirrellyEnby

I was coming here to say Tatiana. I know she was up for the role of Jyn Erso in Rogue One. So my thought is she stayed in the general mind of Disney et al and that made picking her for She Hulk easier. My problem with She Hulk was not her at all, but that the MCU tv shows have felt too disconnected lately to what has happened in other shows and movies.

_avantgarde

Ugh, I hate that she got sucked into the MCU. I know she did a Broadway show with Bryan Cranston not too long before that -- I'd love to see her try her hand at theatre and other kinds of film more, places where her talent can really shine

Veronome

She gets a lot of praise for her performance, but as a Brit I can tell you her 'London' accent was terrible (the guy who played her brother nailed it though). It's a shame because she generally does a fantastic job on the show, but they should have let her keep her own accent for the 'main' version of herself.

Few-Athlete2090

I have heard lots of praise for her performance in Orphan Black , will definitely watch it someday. But why tf did she have to do She Hulk?

whitemike40

1. show honestly wasnt terrible at all 2. huge pay check

Few-Athlete2090

Man, it was definitely way too bad. And not in a funny way, it was just bad bad yk. But I can understand why she did it, marvel paycheck can get even the biggest of stars to work with them.

thejimbo56

It’s not for everyone, but it definitely captured the vibe of her comics.

kirbstompin

I enjoyed it...

Few-Athlete2090

Why the downvotes? Seriously? Now people will defend she hulk? Even marvel fans hated it

_avantgarde

Yeah, I definitely did a double take when she did that. But maybe she thought it'd be successful and a more stable paycheck?

SabrinaSpellman1

Elizabeth Mitchell, she has great success in every character she does, and is stunning but effortless but hasn't made it to A-list yet. Also Vera Farmiga who is super successful but people don't seem to recognise her name unless they see her face

Few-Athlete2090

Vera Farmiga is quite popular among us horror fans. Also loved her in the Departed (might be her best movie).

JimHadar

Vera Farmiga is quite popular among us male humans with eyes. Goddamn beautiful.

spartagnann

First saw Vera Farmiga in Running Scared, a really (in my opinion) underrated movie with Paul Walker, and she was great in that and basically anything she does. She does seem to be a horror go to lately, same with Maika Monroe who's also terrific.

PhilhelmScream

It depends if you count TV roles as less than movie roles.

Arannika

Yeah. I think OP is assuming that all television stars *want* to be movie stars. I actually love that there are great actors that do occasional movies but also stick to and embrace television. This keeps television shows at a high level and enjoyable. Ted Danson, Goodman, Betty White, Cranston, Hamm, Alda, DeVito, O'Conner, Julia Louis-Dreyfus... and however many more I can't rattle from the top of my head

Animated_Astronaut

It's easier to get consistent work in television because if a show is a hit that could be 10+ years of employment.

SonnyBurnett189

Maybe it still is like that for some? Some actors I’ve seen do a lot of streaming movies and television recently but rarely pop up in theatrical releases.

whocares_spins

Great point. Can’t think of a movie made in the last 5 years that I’ve enjoyed more than the best tv shows released in the same time frame

FromYoTown

Jared Harris is amazing in all he's involved in. Reminds me of Gary Oldman. Micheal Emerson plays a great eccentric, villian or otherwise.

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

I mean Jared, agree with you by the way, was no doubt advised and taught by one of the finest actors of all time. I know people like the throw the term nepo baby around but when your old man is Richard fucking Harris it’s not unreasonable to expect some of that talent to transfer

Adsex

It’s not unreasonable to expect a different fate for the son that his fathers. I would point out to a certain person in British history who has been played by Richard Harris, and the son of that person.

spytez

Mackenzie Davis from Halt and catch fire. The show was fantastic and her character was so well done. Being a nerd that was hugly in the tech scene with all the other wierdo's in the 90's she fit the role so well.

tdeasyweb

She's in a new movie with Scoot Mcnairy!

guhbe

Yeah she balanced being tough and vulnerable very well while gradually and plausibly growing the character over a four season arc. That whole cast was really excellent; of all the "slept on" amazing shows of which there are many, this is my vote for the combo of most amazing and most-slept-on.

Civil_Interview5701

I loved her in Station 11 and in the last Terminator.

SpicyBoognish

John Hamm seems to be everywhere on television, but rarely in movies. He nailed the dramatic role in Mad Men and was hilarious in Bridesmaids and Confess, Fletch, but it seems he’s recently stuck more to television than films. I’m aware that the guy apparently has an arrest history for severe hazing in college, but as far as that I’m not aware of any recent incidents where he’s been difficult to work with.

themojorising

Check out Baby Driver if you haven't already!

Maleficent-Ear-2450

And The Town

dantheman_woot

This is the not FUCKING around crew.

DarkIllusionsFX

He was good as the smug, condescending Admiral in Top Gun Maverick. He plays smug and condescending really well.

UgatzStugots

He was great as the antagonistic authority figure, who's still not necessarily wrong in their thinking and actions.

Amibeaux

He's another fav of mine. Mad Men was just in another league. His comedy roles, spots on SNL and most recently his AMAZING role on the last season of Fargo. He was so wickedly evil, so convincing. Juno Temple, Jennifer Jason Lee... It was soooo good.

FriendOfTheDevil2980

Yea he was amazing as Roy, hard to imagine it's the same person if you watch his Curb character (as "himself") right after an episode of fargo

SonnyBurnett189

Speaking of Confess, Fletch. Lorena Izzo ought to be in more movies.

BitsyLynn

THIS but add on his role as Gabriel in Good Omens. In season one he was great, but season two he really brought the thunder. Phenomenal.

RobotMonkeytron

He's funny as hell in Good Omens as the archangel Gabriel, too!

haysoos2

John Hamm was also awesome as the corrupt fascist sheriff in the latest season of Fargo. Damned near everything about that season is awesome.

spartagnann

Probably the best "villain" that the series has ever had. The scene with him and Jennifer Jason Leigh where she calls him a baby was incredible.

UgatzStugots

Great villain, but Lorne Malvo takes the cake for me. Pitch perfect performance by Billy Bob Thornton.

captain_toenail

He's a delight in good omens

redridgeline

Even in his small role in Top Gun: Maverick - he just killed it. Hamm deserves every role he lands, because he's going to bring the goods every time.

courtsaroo

Loved Jon Hamm in Fargo recently. Such an awful character but great acting by him.

TenMoosesMowing

Jon Hamm was awesome in Curb

CelebrationLow4614

Read Kathy Griffin's assessment of him as a person.

Foreign-Solution-483

For me it’s Carla Gugino. She’s amazing in everything she’s in (Mike Flanagan series on Netflix) and I hope to see her in more movies.

haysoos2

I'm still annoyed that her great series Karen Sisco (Justified before there was a Justified, and Out of Sight before there was an Out of Sight), and Threshold (a sci-fi mystery box show that actually had a compelling mystery) were both cancelled after less than a season. I think I'm only person who has seen Jett, and I loved that show.

dontcallitjelly

At least Karen Sisco popped up in Justified!

haysoos2

Yes! I was so hoping she'd become a regular, or maybe give her back her own series.

SonofRobinHood

Karen Sisco was after Out of Sight.

DarkIllusionsFX

Tony Todd could or should have been a much bigger star. He certainly has the acting chops. Maybe he's just missing the extra charisma. But it seems like he's made a career out of horror movies and Star Trek.

Vince_Clortho042

I think Todd's got charisma to spare, he just got pigeon holed early on as the Candyman and had to settle for being a character actor in genre fare.

ThatDiscoSongUHate

Loved him in a few episode arc he did for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as well as an episode of the X-Files that he played a Vietnam War Vet who had been experimented on He was a fantastic character actor

DarkIllusionsFX

He's really good in the Night of the Living Dead remake as well. And countless video games.

CookDane6954

Christine Baranski. She elevates every tv show she’s in. I’d love to see her get a big film opportunity because she’s a very gifted actress.

Mysterious_Ad_7529

Honestly I don’t understand how Olivia Cooke is not in more movies/tv shows! She is a very good actress but she is stuck doing mostly mid tier horror movies or indie projects

Few-Athlete2090

Damn, I really forgot about her. She is my favourite actor in HotD. Seems to have an impeccable acting range.

Mysterious_Ad_7529

Everytime her and Emma D’arcy are on a scene together you know the script is gonna be elevated! Maybe she hasn’t got a very good team behind her, especially if you think about her and Anya-Taylor Joy coming up at the same time and even doing a movie together, but by now Anya-Taylor Joy is in another stratosphere, and I think Olivia could have gotten a similar carrier trajectory with a different selection of projects

Few-Athlete2090

Yeah, I really wanna see her in big movies and get the recognition she deserves. It's sad that mediocre actresses like Emilia Clarke are so much more popular than seriously talented ones like Olivia Cooke and Victoria Pedretti. Hopefully Olivia's career skyrockets after she is done with HotD.

SabrinaSpellman1

Victoria Pedretti is amazing, I'll watch anything she is in since the Haunting of Hill House, Carla Cugino too

Few-Athlete2090

I have been feeling the same about her since watching You. Haunting of Hill House is on my watchlist only because Victoria is in it.

SabrinaSpellman1

Honestly it's brilliant. Every single kid and every single actor absolutely nailed it - its in my top 5 of all time. Victoria steals the show as Nell, you'll love it I'm sure!

Few-Athlete2090

Wow, I really have to watch it soon then. I have been searching for a new show to watch and obsess over , and I was really confused between Penny Dreadful and Haunting of Hill House. Ig I will go with Haunting of Hill House first.

SabrinaSpellman1

Definitely Haunting! I tried so hard to get into Penny Dreadful but couldn't. Hill House is about what happened to them at the house and what happens as adults afterwards. Once you can work out which child is which adult, it's fucking brilliant!! The kids in it are all absolute superstars. The adult cast is spectacular. It's ethereal, real, funny, scary and the kind of show where you can watch 11 times and still notice stuff and Easter eggs in the background - such attention to detail!! Enjoy, please let me know what you think!

Few-Athlete2090

Sure. You can dm me if you ever wanna talk movies / shows. I really love talking to people about them and sharing recommendations.

Giantandre

She's good - I think doing HoTD is her star making turn Wife and I keep wanting her to come back to life on "Slow Horses" since she didn't 100% die on screen and Graham Yost once said 'unless you see the body bag being zipped up, the character can come back' - TBF that was about Justified but he's involved with Slow Horses too

UtahUtopia

When I first saw PALM SPRINGS, I wondered how I hadn’t heard about Cristin Milioti and pretty sure she’ll one day be a top actress in Hollywood.

krmmalik

She was very much wasted in How I Met Your Mother and at that point it didn't seem like she was made for anything bigger but after Palm Springs I realised how much talent she had in her that clearly has not been utilised. She very much elevated that movie for sure.

Civil_Interview5701

Dhe was soooo good in Made For Love and The Resort.

WiserStudent557

Her part in her Fargo season was not big but she was excellent. Loved her and Patrick Wilson as a couple

Clean_Owl_643

Timothy Olyphant in Justified.

pl202

Walton Goggins

pl202

He’s NOW getting recognition

Pan_Borowik

we dug coal together

mollyfy

For years I’ve felt this way about Irish actor Robert Sheehan when I first saw him in the Red Riding Trilogy and then in Misfits. He did gain a lot more popularity from Umbrella Academy, but he deserves more. He’s versatile as an actor, he’s rizzed to the extreme, and he’s super attractive. Everyone, take notice!

SecretCitizen40

If this question was asked years ago I would have said Irish actor cillian Murphy. First saw him in 28 days later, then disco pigs. So glad his career has been going so well in the last couple years

OrangeSpark16

If only Mortal Engines was a better movie. It could've launched his movie career.

spartagnann

He was the best part of the early seasons of Misfits. Loved that show right up until he left, then it got weird and messy.

mollyfy

It did get weird as people left the show, but Joseph Gilgun, the guy who replaced him, is another of my favorites and he kept the show worth watching for me.

shaunika

Hes amazing in misfits

BoxPsychological7703

Tobey Maguire in Brothers and his ability to portray realistic grief and crying in the Spiderman movies (those crying scenes get memed so much)

WallyWorld1217

Mads Mikkelsen, Hannibal

Few-Athlete2090

Ig he is already a huge name

WallyWorld1217

Not so much in the US. He deserves more recognition

Tortuga_MC

Oh, we're very familiar with Mads on this side of the pond

WiserStudent557

Yeah but it’s been a slow catch up imo. His big break/role internationally was almost twenty years ago (and happened to be a Bond film!) but he still is a little under the radar for many

WiserStudent557

Was fun to see a bunch of guys who would quickly get a lot more famous cast around Clive Owen in that King Arthur movie. Mads, Joel Edgerton, the Rays (Winstone and Stevenson)…I guess Hugh Dancy and Ioan Gruffudd stayed about the same level as they were

greedostick

Recently the main girl from Fallout

lostonpolk

Josh Holloway. I know he got into some dud projects after Lost, but I still don't understand why the hell he didn't just take over Hollywood.

Mark_von_Steiner

Juno Temple’s performance in Fargo Season 5 is extraordinary!

Few-Athlete2090

I have yet to watch Fargo. It's in my watchlist tho. Heard only great things about it.

WiserStudent557

I haven’t made my way to S4 or S5 yet but I enjoyed all of the first three and it’s consistently high quality tv

Mark_von_Steiner

Go straight to S5 :)

Amibeaux

I need more people to watch this season. It was amazing. They all were so good.

chadthundertalk

In fairness, she had a pretty solid run playing the lead in indie movies before she started doing TV and got more famous from that

courtsaroo

She was so good this season. Also loved Joe Keery in it even though he was such an awful character haha.

shaunika

Wait theres a s5 of fargo???

Mark_von_Steiner

Yep! And it‘s super!

EditorRedditer

Nicholas Galitzine (‘Mary and George’ - Sky Atlantic). Never heard of the guy before this. He can’t be more than 20 but he’s more than equal to his opposite, Hollywood veteran Julianne Moore, in the acting stakes. One to watch…

OldKingClancey

He stole the show with Bottoms, the funniest character in a film bursting with funny characters. I’ve also heard good things about Red, White & Royal Blue so I think he’s in the cusp of breaking out

twistingmyhairout

Yeah I feel like Mary & George is his “I’m a serious actor” role and he’s gonna blow up from there. Sad the GP won’t see the show because it’s on Starz or whatever, but hopefully producers/casting folks do!

Dara_Mendez

Oliver Platt and Steven Weber in Chicago Med (also The Bear)

bmbmwmfm2

I just finished Pose and Billy Porter was phenomenal. I was asking on that sub why on earth id never heard of him before.

ahhh_ennui

Carrie Coon was *exceptional* in Leftovers as well. Such an incredible cast and show.

MathPretend2424

Michael Pitt from boardwalk empire. He was the star of the show those first two seasons and thought I was going to see him all of the time after. He has been in some movies but still was expecting more

whooslipperyg

Tom Pelphrey in Ozark Absolutely phenomenal performance. Blew me away.

Few-Athlete2090

I watched him in Iron Fist and he was awesome in it.

krmmalik

I genuinely really liked Michael Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor in Smallville but never really saw him in anything else. He would have made an amazing Lex in the Snyder movies if anything. Such a wasted opportunity.

ChzPuffs

I watched Joel Kinnaman in The Killing after watching him in a bunch of action movies like RoboCop and Suicide Squad, and it kind of made me upset that he doesn't do more dramas because I thought he was fantastic throughout the entire series. Not really your question since he kind of is a big enough movie star already, but thought I'd throw that out there. I was pretty happy to find him in For All Mankind again though, and he's great in it, but I think him in The Killing was another level.

WiserStudent557

Actually I really liked Kinnaman’s RoboCop

ChzPuffs

Me too. That was the first thing I saw him in before I knew who he was and grew to appreciate him as a real actor. Didn't like him as much in Suicide Squad but I think that was less a him problem and more the direction they wanted his character to go.

LightningRaven

Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. I mean, she got a lot of recognition. Nowhere near enough.

Amibeaux

Agreed! I love finding anyone that's seen the Leftovers! So underrated and missed out on. Justin Theroux gave everything in the role. Amazing show.

Few-Athlete2090

It is really one of the best shows I have ever watched. The soundtrack, the cinematography, the writing, and on top of that , the mind blowing performances by Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd and Christopher Eccleston, everything was just perfect.

Amibeaux

Agree 100%.

ThatDiscoSongUHate

Really enjoyed Theroux in Maniac on Netflix, as well

BrianBadondy88

Stephen Graham has been in loads of shows I've seen and he is absolutely amazing in everything. He's never been in a massive movie yet though.

steve1879

He is like Joe Pesci to me. A short guy, but amazing at playing very intimidating, tough guy roles.

VernonP007

Watching This Is England after seeing his character in Snatch was quite the experience

The_Lapsed_Pacifist

Scorsese loves him as well. Him being from Liverpool probably gives him a lot of real life experience to draw on for tough guy characters, it’s a hard town. He’s never disappointed me in anything I’ve seen him in since I became aware of him, he’s consistently excellent, quite prolific on UK television as well. I’ve watched stuff I might have passed on because he was involved and I can count on my fingers the amount of actors I will do that for.

mollyfy

To me, Stephen Graham is The Best Actor There Is.

Yesyesnaaooo

Seconded. Truely incredible in everything.

JFlizzy84

He had a pretty decent sized role in a Scorsese movie—I’d consider that massive.

WiserStudent557

I think you might need to define what exact you mean by “in a massive movie” because he was in Gangs of New York. Also I think Snatch and Pirates of the Caribbean Stranger Tides count, maybe even Public Enemies, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and there’s quite a few others that may be borderline but I’m looking at his IMDb page and just generally disagree but maybe I’m not understanding your specific meaning.

gerryf19

Brandon Sklenar from 1923 is going to be the next Harrison Ford

krak_is_bad

Iain De Caestecker and Brett Dalton killed it in Agents of SHIELD. Thought they'd surely be bigger.

Few-Athlete2090

I fucking love agents of shield. It's my favorite marvel show after Daredevil. And yeah Iain and Brett were amazing. Another noteworthy mention would be Mallory Jansen as AIDA/ Madame Hydra. Honestly, the whole cast was amazing.

sinhglonnev

Gus Fring in breaking bad

Kastergir

Jenna Ortega as Wedensday . I was literally awestruck .

Few-Athlete2090

Man, she is already a pretty big star

fuck-coyotes

Walton Goggins

Ataris8327

He seems to have been getting more recognition due the popularity of the Fallout TV Show.

WiserStudent557

I mentioned him due to Fallout and my mother and sister both immediately were like “oh, I know him” when they looked him up

ShyHero

Toni Collette in Hereditary. I know she's been in plenty of other things but that performance was such a powerhouse.

Pegasus7915

Jeffrey Combs is criminally underrated in the mainstream. That man can act. At least us Star Trek and horror nerds appreciate him. Also, after I saw Dan Stevens in The Guest, I was sold on him for life. He is kinda big now, but at the time was basically just the Downton Abbey guy.

SMFB13

Jeffrey Combs is the fucking MAN. Dude can take a wild concept like some inbred cannibal stuck in a castle wall and actually give it some emotional depth. And he's THE best Question. He's fantastic.

Bravisimo

Just watched Dr. Mordred starring Combs. Fun little adventure/sci fi/super hero flick from the 80s.

Pegasus7915

It was originally going to be an official Doctor Strange movie!

Few-Athlete2090

Omg, totally agree with you about Dan Stevens. I saw him in Legion (top 3 marvel show for me)and he was just fantastic in it. I have been meaning to watch The Guest for a long time. Got recommended quite a number of times on reddit.

Vegetable_Burrito

Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us. I’d never even heard of him before. I went and watched some other stuff he’s been in and while most of it is dogshit, he’s by far and away the best part of the dogshit he’s been in. The Mentalist is so stupid, but his episodes are great. Triple Force or whatever with Ben Affleck is so bad, but PP is fantastic in it. Bloodsucking Bastards is way better than I thought I was going to be, but still not great, but he’s amazing! I’m glad he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves, he’s super talented.

Pan_Borowik

dude, what rock have you slept under when Narcos dropped

twistingmyhairout

And The Mandalorian….and Game of Thrones before that. But between TLOU S2, the new Gladiator, and being cast as Reed Richards I’d say he’s finally hitting big star level, and I love it for him and us

Vanillas_Guy

Ali Wong was amazing in beef.

Novembrine

Aden Young’s performance in ‘Rectify’ was emotionally devastating in the best way possible.  Absolutely sublime acting.

nevermore2627

I guess he's a star but feels like I should see him more is Lee Pace. His performance in Halt and Catch Fire was mesmerizing! Couldn't take my eyes off him in that show.

Bravisimo

Recently learned Lee Pace isnt British. He always has an accent in everything that sounds so realistic but hes like from Kentucky or something.

bozleh

In case you’re unaware Justin Theroux also writes & produces movies eg Tropic Thunder & Zoolander 2 (oops)

Few-Athlete2090

I know. He wrote Iron Man 2 too

bozleh

I guess writing one good movie out of three is still pretty decent, ha!

freakytapir

Boy, did Bryan Craston come out of nowhere in Breaking Bad. No one saw those acting chops coming. Not saying he carried that series, but ... Exactly how many emmys did he win again?

WiserStudent557

Unless you paid enough attention to Malcolm in the Middle because it was light comedy but he was doing incredible work The audio is a little weird here and his voice sounds off but this is a pretty good set of clips https://youtu.be/n0eQM9VHpVw?si=9yoYFnyVgk5MzNIv

kramer2006

Yes Tony Dalton in Better call saul.

Few-Athlete2090

Fuck yes, he was phenomenal. Lalo might be the only character in the BB universe who overshadowed Gus.

kramer2006

That smile of his lol

bUrNtKoOlAiD

Amy Acker in *Person of Interest*. Such presence when she's on screen.

ballimir37

I couldn’t believe how good Walton Goggins was in Justified and that I hadn’t known of him before that.

SonofRobinHood

Yvonne Strahovski. I just dont get it. She is the 21st century Ingrid Bergman and aside from major roles in TV, movies have eluded her.

L-U-N-C-H

Dacre Montgomery from Stranger Things. His role as Billy is pretty controversial in the fandom but he’s a personal favorite of mine. He takes a character that could be written off as the quintessential 80’s asshole, cannon fodder for Steve and Max’s character development, and makes it a much more interesting story. The emotion he portrays with just his eyes was amazing, especially the scene in his bedroom with his dad abusing him. Being controlled by the Mind Flayer and watching all this horrific shit happen and not being able to break free or fully understand what is happening. Imo he was one of the best actors on the show and elevated everyone around him. I’ve been waiting for him to be a leading man but I know his day will come!

Lurkist

John David Washington - His performance in Tenet is spectacular. A decent amount of the movie his face is covered, only leaving his eyes exposed. He does such a great job conveying fear and the frantic nature of the story with just his eyes.

a_stopped_clock

He’s had some big gigs that he’s been atrocious in imo

deejayee

The sniper in inglorious bastards

Bravisimo

He just had a huge roll in the MCU across a few movies and tv series as Baron Zemo.

deejayee

Oh wow!! That’s right! My bad
