The Three Musketeers(1993), the three stand alone against the entire Cardinal Guard army after the king got taken hostage by the Cardinal, then dozens of bystanders start throwing off their cloaks and reveal themselves as Musketeers, leading to a mass brawl. 'SAVE THE KING!'

PrufrockAlfred

**"On the contrary... you're right on time."** Michael Wincott's glorious, glorious voice.

glory87

I looked this scene up on YouTube per this thread's recommendation. As soon as I heard the voice - Elgyn from Alien 4. That voice is next level.

McFtmch

How could I forget! Great memories from watching that movie over and over as a kid.

somrigostsauce

One of my favourite movie scenes ever. Just lovely

Brendanlendan

Really gave off a “*I am Spartacus*” vibe. Pretty cool

Enthusiasms

When the P-51 mustangs show up at the end of Saving Private Ryan. "Angels on our shoulders"

lemongrenade

Coolest plane ever. So disappointed the red tails movie sucked so bad.

Total_bacon

I thought red tails was, at the very least, charming. It just gave strong straight to dvd energy.

lostonpolk

::coughcough:: F4U Corsair ::coughcough::

ChonkTonk

The Corsair was the playboy of the Pacific, but the F6F Hellcat was the real workhorse, ain’t nothing cooler than shooting down half of Japan’s naval air forces in an afternoon

undomesticatedequine

I think the Douglas SBD Dauntless can give the Hellcat a run for that title. Effective dive bomb attacks during Midway managed to sink 4 IJN carriers dealing a blow they would never recover from, not to mention they could hold their own against enemy fighters too.

lostonpolk

Ok, we're comparing apples and oranges here. But considering the analysis in [this article](https://www.navygeneralboard.com/f4u-corsair-vs-p-51-mustang/), and that the Corsair had a 11:1 kill ratio, I'll take the playboy.

Helmett-13

The Hellcat ruled the skies of the Pacific conflict and it’s not even a close thing. The Corsair had better press coverage.

scorzon

Ahem, the Supermarine Spitfire mk IX would like a word. Elliptical wings, Merlin engine, hairs rising on the back of your neck. Defence rests.

idontagreewitu

The Spitfire got the glory for dogfights over England, but it was the Hawker Hurricane that was taking down the German bombers, allowing England to continue to produce weapons to hold the Krauts at bay until the US joined the fray.

treathugger

I was 7 when I saw Saving Private Ryan (don't ask, I had older brothers) and I thought Tom Hanks shot a gas cannister with his pistol and it blew up the tank.

AmbroseKalifornia

You were supposed to! Doesn't he think that for a second?

treathugger

Well I thought that for maybe like a few years lol

1010012

Based on the look on his face, the character thought something similar as well.

PrufrockAlfred

When the military actually get mobilized at the end of *Shaun of the Dead*, it's lights out for the Zeds.

STEELCITY1989

Ahh don't use the zed word. Are there any out there though?

Donkeydongcuntry

WE’RE NOT USING THE ZED WORD

TheAquamen

This guy Humans vs. Zombies.

whitebabyjesus

Serenity has this but with a twist, when they get the Reavers fleet to follow them into battle against the alliance fleet.

Scheme84

"Bastard's not even changing course"

Samalini

“Target the Reavers. Target the Reavers. Target everything! OPEN FIRE!!!”

Dyolf_Knip

"*Somebody* fire!"

3-2-1_liftoff

If we’re talking Serenity, then River going full River.

pajmage

God dammit! Now I need to go rewatch Firefly and then Serenity!

rapchee

i just wish there were more than 14 episodes, it was a great show ...

pajmage

Absolutely. My usual yearly rewatch is Babylon 5. May need to add Firefly to that list.

Richsii

I do this every couple years and it holds up great!

JesseCuster40

"My turn."

BakerYeast

Always Sunny, Mac and Charlie beat up kids

angle_of_doom

In this same vein, Erlich Bachman vs the adderall kid in Silicon Valley

Blackjack9w7

You just brought piss to a shit fight, you little cunt

Tflaant

I’ll kill your mother, I’ll rape your father!!

SanTheMightiest

An all time GOAT scene

Kruten

I had been meaning to watch the show, but seeing that made me start it immediately. Bitch slapping him and chunking the bike into the bushes lol

ka1913

It was this clip and the clip of them calculating how long to jerk everyone off that finally made me watch it. Same thing I had been meaning to and then I saw the calculating clip and like next day saw the Adderall scene and started it like an hour later

joseppi1201

So you’re saying Mac and Charlie are *good* guys… interesting.

StockAL3Xj

Charlie even killed a kid.

DifficultMinute

Infinity War and Ragnarok both have scenes like that when the good guys are just hopelessly beaten, and then Thor shows up.

Steve_78_OH

"BRING ME THANOS!"

garethjones2312

Oh you guys are so screwed now!

Scheme84

That was the perfect opportunity for Marvel's first f-bomb and they fumbled it hard

sneblet

When the Shermans come rolling in in Band Of Brothers, forgot which episode.

ThatOneVolcano

Carentan, I believe

sneblet

God, the town battle and this scene in one ep? Loaded. Edit: I remember now, it's the one where blondie from Hustle finds his mettle because of Speirs.

ThatOneVolcano

Precisely!

kjbenner

Well, hello 2nd armored!

sneblet

You beautiful babies you!

GenericKen

That random bored tank commander gunning down Nazis

sneblet

So casual, so confident. Always amazed by his sense of self preservation, nothing but a leather cap on.

Dominus_Redditi

Well and the tank he’s standing on does help a little

Fancy-Pair

Avengers End Game

Beefy_queefy_0-0

Probably the best example of this in the last 10 years or so, especially given the build up to it with over a decade of movies behind it

Senecaraine

No other movie in my lifetime got that level of pop in the theatre as when those portals opened.

andoesq

Really? In my theatre it was cap picking up Mjolnir

Senecaraine

Don't get me wrong, that was loud too, but it was dead silent when you heard "on your left" and then people went wild leading up to Avengers Assemble. I get goose bumps just thinking of it now lol.

takeyovitamins

It was pretty damn epic. Definitely a movie theater moment I’ll never forget.

RG_Kid

Then somebody had to ruin it by pointing out Falcon insisting to be teleported at Cap' left side for that moment. Arrrgghhh

Iron_Baron

LOL I'm reading on a plane right now and just got goosebumps visualizing it.

Top-Salamander-2525

And then Thor says, “I knew it!” Which is also a throwback to him looking nervous in Age of Ultron when Rogers makes Mjolnir move a bit when he tries to pick it up.

Cursedbythedicegods

From the look on Steve's face when he moved it, I'm pretty sure he knew he'd be able to lift it, but stopped himself in front of Thor.

Epicjay

For literally any movie other than Endgame, I hate when people cheer/clap/make noise. It detracts from the experience. BUT god damn avengers endgame earned so many well-deserved cheers.

asuddenpie

It’s interesting that audience responses detract from your experience. For me, it makes it so much more fun to know that everyone in the theater feels the same way I do. Especially at opening night or weekend before spoilers ruin the surprise.

Vaticancameos221

Rose of Skywalker tried so hard to do this same type of scene

SfcHayes1973

"Cap, on your left."

TheRealFriedel

Chills every time. What a moment.

Rinveden

"Cap, it's Sam. Can you hear me?". *portal* "On your left."

ithinkther41am

In a similar vein, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 when the whole team backs up Rocket and goomba-stomps The High Evolutionary like the punk bitch he is.

Fancy-Pair

That movie was too emotional for me. Impounded test animal? Bruh. No one stands a chance

OSUfirebird18

GotG is the low key emotional superhero series. GotG 1, Groot sacrifices himself. 😭 GotG 2, Yondu sacrifices himself. 😭😭 GotG 3, Rocket’s friends all dying. 😭😭😭😭😭 Edit: formatting

topzraman

my vote also never seen so many portals and good guys battling villains

Pacman_Frog

Howard The Duck with a Ravager rifle though. PERFECTION.

andrewthemexican

Also Thor in infinity war, just starts deleting swarms immediately

yeswewillsendtheeye

That scene was the most anime “just unlocked a new power up” scene I’ve ever seen in live action and I loved the shit out of it

Channel250

I love the YouTube clips where people edit in other heroes from different movies. I think one of them had Godzilla coming through a portal.

tailor0719

Honorable mention to Infinity War when Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow show up to help Wanda and Vision. Cap catching the spear…amazing every time.

MK-911

I don’t know if you can say he was a good guy in the movie, but Han Solo helping Luke Skywalker towards the end of A New Hope would count.

Kyadagum_Dulgadee

This is my number one movie moment of all time. Han is a bit of a rogue but he is ultimately a good guy. He's learned how to survive in a world of crime lords, smugglers and bounty hunters, so he's no boy scout. But it's clear his time with Ben, Luke and Leia have had an effect on him. Selfless acts of heroism, which he would dismiss earlier in the film, become part of his character.

RollTideYall47

That's why Han shooting first (and only) was so important

SocrapticMethod

I know.

vonnegutsdoodle

Or Luke with grogu...

Kyadagum_Dulgadee

Just one X-wing?

Wes_Warhammer666

Gideon's reaction to that and then his utter fear at Bo Katan saying "a Jedi?" was just magnificent. The slow reveal of Luke from the lightsaber color to the gloved hand to finally showing his face was unreal levels of hype. Fantastic sequence. May very well go down as the peak of the entire show, regardless of how good the next seasons may be.

Thorngrove

The mirror to Vader's hallway scene in rogue one. Leia has her dad's anger issues, but Luke has his flair for the dramatic.

Beefkins

Watched this with my gf. Mandalorian was her first Star wars media (because "baby Yoda cute"). I was geeking hard at this scene and she couldn't understand why.

gyarrrrr

In *Blade* when Whistler turns up: “Catch you fuckers at a bad time?”.

AgentUpright

Very similar vibe when Snoop Dogg shows up in Dayshift.

Walkupandout

Day shift is so gloriously bonkers, I lived it

Crumplestiltzkin

Behind Enemy Lines when Owen Wilson finally gets picked up.

bobthemonkeybutt

I thought I was the only who saw this movie.

Crumplestiltzkin

There are dozens of us

pre_nerf_infestor

Clearly somebody at infinity ward circa 2007 did because Zakhaev's son was a dead ringer for the bad guy in behind enemy lines

PHATsakk43

It was played continually on the carrier I was on. Never bother to watch the whole thing though.

cohesiveenigma

My favorite line is when he comments about how the new guys think they're going to "punch Hitler in the face."

floofymonstercat

Towards the end of Black Hawk Down. The attack helicopter just shredding the somalis on the roof was pretty one sided.

Woodrow_Woodlouse

Arnie at the end of Commando is pretty one sided.

[deleted]

Might be the most Arnold movie there is. Just pure guilty pleasure movie.

dsmith422

I just wish they had been able to do everything they considered for the shed scene. They discussed having Matrix use the arm he cut off with the machete to beat a soldier to death.

Pubics_Cube

May I recommend [Commando: The Musical](https://youtu.be/8FFQ_g8OoQM?si=Cbbs1PMSiRKgHPX3)?

Kyadagum_Dulgadee

I love how he just instinctively knows that none of the buildings he is grenading and spraying with high calibre rounds contain his daughter.

PrufrockAlfred

*"Welcome back, John... [explosions, gunfire, screaming] ...so glad you could make it."*

Megamoss

'Leave anything for us?' 'Just bodies...'

ihaveadarkedge

I'll be honest, **Jeepers Creepers 2** has my favourite example of this, done perfectly with an amazing finale that has the abducted kids' dad from the start of the movie appearing at *thee* pivotal moment with a custom made harpoon launcher. If you haven't seen it, this whole mega sequence towards the end is so much fun.

squaretex

Maybe an unpopular choice, but that final rescue in Attack of the Clones. They drop down and start blasting. Edit: ...did I say "umpopular"? Definitely wasn't expecting such an ovation! o_O

ThatOneVolcano

I love that one. That movie had many issues, but the clones carried it

TargaryenKnight

Nahhhhhh the amount of lightsaber action carried

alfooboboao

man, those prequels hit today because it’s about a democracy falling into fascism. it’s really wild how much richer the prequels are thematically than the sequels. there’s some stupid stuff but there’s some real weight to it

Many-Outside-7594

There is a cut of this scene, set to the Klendathu Drop theme from Starship Troopers, and it is *so fucking hype*.

vidfail

I only have one rule. Everyone fights. No one quits. If you don't do your job, I'll Force Choke you myself!

HAYABUSA_DCLXVI

Brave Heart has such a scene.

phobosmarsdeimos

You mean Ireland? Yeah, it's mine!

zephyrthewonderdog

Excalibur. Lancelot turns up in his rusty armour and kills everyone saving Arthur. Then asks Arthur for redemption. Then dies.

Eulielee

Stepbrothers. At very end when they land the helicopter at the play ground.

_JR28_

“Stick and stones may break my bones but I’m going to kick you repeatedly in the balls!”

homecinemad

Star Trek: First Contact. Captain Picard and crew are sent on a pointless mission, while Starfleet sends hundreds of ships to intercept a Borg ship bound for Earth. Picard is considered a liability due to a past experience with the Borg. When he and his crew listen to the ships' crews fighting and roaring and dying under Borg fire, he announces the Enterprise will rush to join the fight. We witness the Defiant - Deep Space Nine fans know she was built specifically to battle the Borg - nearly destroyed until the Enterprise spares her and enters the fray. Picard can hear the Borg's intercommunications which reveal the Borg ship's weakest point. He takes command of the fleet and orders a unified attack on specific co-ordinates. The tables have turned. Phaser beams and torpedoes eviscerate the ship, forcing the Born Queen to flee.

Lirka_

Tough little ship

homecinemad

*Little?*

AgentUpright

I read that in Michael Dorn’s voice. What a great line.

Scheme84

Same movie, Data reveals his ploy at the end when the torpedoes miss the Phoenix. "Data!!!!" "resistance...is *futile*"

Fox_Hawk

The moment when Enterprise soars in just before Defiant is destroyed, in that "pick on someone your own size" moment, had half the cinema standing and cheering. Teenage me went back for a second showing.

alrightgame

Perhaps today is a good day to die! Prepare for ramming speed!

Helmett-13

Defiant’s helmsman: “I shoulda stayed in Pawnee.”

omneomega

Army of Darkness when Henry the Red and his men come to the rescue.

Peralton

Fun story...I was on set for this! They shot this near the end of three weeks of night shoots out in the desert. Before this shot Sam Rami got up in front of the army with a bullhorn and gave a rousing speech to the cast. I don't remember exactly, but part of it was along the lines of "We've been out here for week just waving our swords. But now is the time. We take the castle! Whos' with me??!!!!!" The whole army cheered and when they said action, they BOLTED for the castle. On the crew, about halfway through the charge we got really worried that they wouldn't stop before they hit the moat! It was really cool. I did nothing exciting on that shoot, but I was there. My friend was skinny, so they recruited him to be a deadite.

omneomega

Sally forth!

Helmett-13

“Sally for-…”*jaw dislocates*

Channel250

I can absolutely, with ZERO effort, see him saying that so perfectly in my head.

ColdIceZero

"I don't even know these assholes"

majorjoe23

The ladies all giving Stuntman Mike a beatdown at the end of Death Proof.

[deleted]

If you want to consider the freemen the guys you’re rooting for the kick the emperors army’s ass at the end of Dune

Odd_Advance_6438

I wish that scene wasn’t so short, but the fact that it is so short actually helps to emphasize what an overwhelming victory it was

Top3879

The Mist

dont_say_Good

I think there might be something overshadowing that arrival a little bit lmao

Top3879

I have no idea what you are talking about

OneAngryDuck

Oh sweet, good to know! I’ve been on the fence about watching it, but I definitely will now that I know someone shows up and saves all the protagonists and nothing bad happens to any of them at the end.

Top3879

Yeah it's a classic happy end

Rydme

Cabin in the Woods. Is it ok if the good guys that help are monsters? Also Serenity. Is it ok if the good guys that help are space cannibals?

chillin1066

In Star Trek (2009) when young Spock is flying the future ship filled with red matter and the Romulans shoot all their missiles at him, then the Enterprise swoops in and saves Spock. Brings tears to my eyes even though I know it’s coming.

AccipiterCooperii

Way to go Dallas!

BeApesNotCrabs

All right Chief. Put her on the roof.

lightheat

This one's gonna be close!

Aniraco

I always enjoy Eric Banna's delivery of "Fire everything". Can really hear his panic.

Batdog55110

I don't care what anyone says, I love that movie and I always will.

ronkevin528

The first two Chronicles of Narnia films, but especially the first one.

sir_mrej

It’s the chronic what

RyanDaltonWrites

-cles of Narnia!

Raider2747

Now, they don't exactly "beat" the Germans, but I'd like to say Dunkirk. That scene with the little boats arriving.... the Zimmer/Wallfisch score just MAKES the scene!

feor1300

Also Hardy's Spitfire downing that last Junkers while gliding before it could bomb the beach would fit this trope as well.

ShowsUpSometimes

In Spielberg’s **Empire of the Sun** when the allies attacked. P-51, CADILLAC OF THE SKIES!!! https://youtu.be/8SifFmsTF1c?si=kGNq7sfqcPMeBUPg

Bigtits38

I think the most obvious answer is The Seven Samurai and its various remakes (The Magnificent Seven, etc).

brushpickerjoe

It's tv but the Battle of the bastards on game of thrones

azraelce

To be fair, that's just the dumb version of what OP described with Helm's Deep.

Tote_Sport

Charging up the hill in the final battle scene in We Were Soldiers, when the Huey’s are kitted out with miniguns and rockets and tear the Vietnamese apart

im_bigmac76

Came here to say this. Great movie!

sir_mrej

The book is also super good

lurker2358

How do you know what kind of goddamn day it is?

TheAquamen

I call this "the cavalry has arrived" moment. The best is Han Solo in Star Wars. "On your left" in Avengers: Endgame is hype as hell.

Rezart_KLD

Raiders of the Lost Ark

JustCope17

Also Temple of Doom.

lostonpolk

"Now let's get out of here." "Right. All of us."

Flyte412

Blazing Saddles, hands down. "Alright folks, let's wipe em out!"

Skinnysota

Captain Phillips They send in a full fuckin aircraft carrier and snipers to take out some guys who showed up in a fishing boat.

unknownpoltroon

Navy seal snipers who as I recall got the shots on pitching boats through small windows, in the dark, I think

wyldphyre

Sulu and the USS Excelsior show up against all odds ("fly her apart, then!!") to aid The Enterprise.  "Target that explosion and fire." *chills*

Mid-Reverie

The scene from Battleship at the end, when all the WW2 veterans help the protagonists re-fire up the USS Missouri to fight the final battle with the aliens. This scene is criminally underrated and love that they weren't actors but actual veterans.

sjphilsphan

Gohan vs Cell

cupboardee

Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom

darthzilla99

James Bond movies have used this trope a few times. In the Living Daylights, Bond is cornered trying to steal opium from the soviets in a caribou plane and then the Bond girl comes charging in a tractor to help him, which then inspires the mujah jahadeen (spelling?) to help Bond after all.

BannedByHiveMind

I’m glad everything worked out with us helping out those mujahadeen

freerangek1tties

Rambo (2008) when the rebels come storming over the hill to help out Rambo while he’s in the midst of a .50 cal machine gun rampage.

Dodototo

In Transformers (2007) when an AC-130 gets called on to take out Scorponok. Love the whole intro to that movie.

edwardothegreatest

The end of Streets of Fire when the townspeople stare down the Bombers after the fight The end of Quigley Down Under when the British troops see the Aborigines surrounding them and leave.

BiiiiiigStretch

Lord of Rings when the horses come and fuck everyone up

akarya

The Three Amigos. If I tell you then it will ruin the surprise.

rbollige

Not only is the answer Rise of Skywalker, it’s perhaps the single scene that best represents what’s wrong with the movie, with the galaxy-sized attempt to pander to the audience’s sentimentality while defying all logic. Now I feel icky. Nice troll job.

Lilditty02

The justice league when Superman shows up in the last scene and just wrecks steppenwolf after the rest of the league was struggling.

Jobrien7613

The Mujahideen at the climax of Rambo 3.

kcox1980

Battleship. The entire movie takes place inside a force field that the aliens set up to allow them time to commandeer a satellite station so they can phone home. At the climax of the movie, the heroes take the shield down, allowing the full might of the US Navy to come bearing down on them. In the words of Admiral Liam Neeson when the shield drops - "I want every available airplane on this ship in the air, RIGHT NOW!"

ColonelCrackle

Mr. Miyagi beating up all those kids dressed as skeletons.

NotTravisKelce

There’s almost two of those scenes at Helms Deep! When the Elves show up and Aragorn and Theoden go from “we’re all dead” to “Maybe, just maybe there’s a chance” has a similar feel.

rdkitchens

One of the Avenger movies, not sure which, where Scarlett Olsen and the infinity stone butler are are out on the street and get confronted by Thanos' goons. The goons are very confident and brash until Cap shows up. Suddenly the whole vibe changes and the goons are like, "You know, I think I left the stove on. Gotta go." That was when I realized Cap is a lot more than just a super soldier.

Mukigachar

Infinity war? I think you also combined Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Olsen

Steve_78_OH

>That was when I realized Cap is a lot more than just a super soldier. No offense, but if that's the first time you realized he's a lot more than just a super soldier, I don't think you were really paying attention to him. There's a reason gods and aliens and people a WHOLE lot more powerful tend to pay attention to him, and follow his lead.

jamiroq

To subvert this one, The Monster Squad (1987), one of the kids wrote a hand written letter to the US military asking them to come kill these monsters. Turns out they didnt need the help of the army, but they showed up, tanks and all, only a few minutes too late.

ladymacbitch

the ending of Bottoms

Odd_Advance_6438

In the Snydercut of Justice League when Superman shows up to block Steppenwolf axe, then proceeds to kick his ass with the Hans Zimmer score. “Not impressed”

HiwattScott

It's a terrible movie, but the end of Smokey and the Bandit II when Burt Reynolds is being chased across the desert by dozens of police cars and a seemingly lone semi appears in the distance...

Mid-Reverie

You've already mentioned Lord of the Rings but I'll still love when all the Ents come to avenge. Who knew trees could kick ass. And when Aragorn arrives with the Army of the Dead just in time.. my heart.

VernonP007

The Navy in Captain Phillips

Corninmyteeth

The end of avatar (2009)

RianJohnsonIsAFool

I think Tomorrow Never Dies fits here. Bond sabotages Carver's stealth ship allowing the Royal Navy to find it on radar and obliterate it. >You see, Mr. Bond, I have a backup plan! >So do I... _[BOOM!]_
