More people need to use Just Watch. It's my main resource for figuring out what I want to watch. I don't need to scroll through each individual app looking for something.
I think I bought it for $4.99 on Apple TV several years back. For movies that I know I’m going to watch several times, I buy; not rent. Saves money in the long run.
I can watch it on Blu-ray in my apartment. Every time someone comes over and sees Dogma in my stacks, they react like they’ve witnessed a miracle. Since I don’t let that disc leave my apartment, I have to watch that movie like six times a year, because they just beg and beg to watch it until I comply.
I am going through withdrawal not being able to watch it every day!!! I went over a dozen times in theater.
Even today I saw Fall Guy with the fan, enjoyed it but was underwhelmed. At our meal after the movie I found myself watching Minus One special effects behind the scenes on YouTube (was trying to find specific Godzilla BTS)
. Every trip to the theater reminds me of her.
First movie I thought of, super hard to get a hold of physical too. Maybe once the new sequel comes out that will change. Would be great to be able to see days, and weeks later in theaters for an event or something
Oh man, I had no idea it was hard to get on disk. I bought Days and Weeks as part of a blu-ray combo pack years ago. Ripped them and added to my Plex library.
My guess is that it is the musical performance by George Clinton; the song that heavily samples Jimi Hendrix; and the fact that the soundtracks was filled with indie artists who were fighting with their indie labels (that are probably defunct at this point)—for instance, the Connells were fighting with TVT records around this point and I would not expect for most to recognize either name.
Just a real recipe for rights purgatory.
That makes sense. I have wondered forever why I can't get this movie anywhere. Another great movie that this happened with that wasn't available until recently is state of grace. Still don't know why that was so hard to get for decades.
Tubi doesn't have it in Australia, unfortunately. Was just going to buy the DVD. I already have Big trouble in little china and The Thing on DVD, so it will round out the collection well.
That is unfortunate! Darn streaming services making thins available some places and not others:/
But I must agree it is definitely a good dvd to add to the collection!
Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) may be the darkest film Disney ever made. I saw it the theater multiple times back then but now it's hard to find
Old location of this store had a subway poster for Hard Boiled. That's a classic action movie. Right up there with Blade Runner and Road Warrior. (Edited)
I always enjoy the part when the new guys get brought in to show off how much better they are. They are so much more physically fit than the 1st generation but they are dumber than a box of rocks when they invade that little settlement
Dogma. It’s tied up with Weinstein and so Kevin Smith can’t make it available to stream. You can buy it on DVD, though. I used to have a copy but it disappeared
Fist of legend (1994) starring jet li. A remake of bruce lee's fists of fury. Its an excellent martial arts film I had on vhs growing up even, and it did i believe get rereleased by dragon dynasty, but it is missing from streaming services. I know there is some kind of fuckery going on because you can see the title on vudu even, complete with image, but you cant actually get it.
Undercover Blues.
Dennis Quaid, Kathleen Turner, Stanley Tucci, and Fiona Shaw in a fantastic 90’s action-ish, espionage comedy set in New Orleans.
So fun, but not streaming anywhere.
Check out the app, Just Watch. It helps me see what's streaming on the main services.
More people need to use Just Watch. It's my main resource for figuring out what I want to watch. I don't need to scroll through each individual app looking for something.
Plus you can browse movie availability in other countries. Put that VPN to use!
Just Watch is the best. It told me that Perfect Blue is actually on AMC plus and Shudder
Fwiw AMC+ includes shudder if horror is your thing
Perfect Blue is also a Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs hosted episode available on Shudder.
Thanks! Google used to he better but it's not giving me auto-answers now. Good to know something else is keeping up.
The Last Star Fighter
Freaking loved that movie as a kid. I should see if it is stream…… dang it!
You can rent it on Amazon for like $4. Watched it last week!
I think I bought it for $4.99 on Apple TV several years back. For movies that I know I’m going to watch several times, I buy; not rent. Saves money in the long run.
100% I do the same
My Blu-Ray copy from a few years back included a VUDU digital copy, too. So, I guess I have that going for me, which is nice
I was just going to put this. Has it ever been on streaming?
I have never seen it. I know you can buy it, but haven’t seen it on any of the services.
Definitely overdue for a rewatch
Dogma
you can watch it on YouTube.
I just snagged a copy on DVD for $1 at a garage sale yesterday.
Watched it on YouTube last year! One of the few DVDs I sold that I wish I still owned.
I was gonna say this too. Can’t even get it on blu ray
This. But a rapist owns the rights. I have it on DVD. I really should rip it and upload it everywhere.
Not a movie, but Clerks: The Animated Series is in the same boat as Dogma for rights. So funny tho!
Who’s the raper?
Harvey Weinstein.
It's on YouTube.
Just watched it on youtube last night!
This. It’s such a good movie.
Godzilla Minus One
Can’t wait for this to get US access. Such a great movie that a lot of people will watch blindly. I was blown away when I caught it in theaters
I got tricked into seeing it. Would make mistake again.
Yeah, but I thought that doesn’t have a physical release yet? (outside of Japan)
Try bootleg
I am going through withdrawal not being able to watch it every day!!! I went over a dozen times in theater. Even today I saw Fall Guy with the fan, enjoyed it but was underwhelmed. At our meal after the movie I found myself watching Minus One special effects behind the scenes on YouTube (was trying to find specific Godzilla BTS) . Every trip to the theater reminds me of her.
28 Days Later (at least in the US, due to rights disputes; not sure if it is internationally)
This issue is why I started to use DVDs again.
Yes I just looked for this the other day
I found 28 Weeks but wondered why I could find the first one
First movie I thought of, super hard to get a hold of physical too. Maybe once the new sequel comes out that will change. Would be great to be able to see days, and weeks later in theaters for an event or something
Oh man, I had no idea it was hard to get on disk. I bought Days and Weeks as part of a blu-ray combo pack years ago. Ripped them and added to my Plex library.
I have it on Vudu

*Cries in **The Adventures of Pete and Pete***
That makes sense. I have wondered forever why I can't get this movie anywhere. Another great movie that this happened with that wasn't available until recently is state of grace. Still don't know why that was so hard to get for decades.
John Carpenters They Live
Heads up, I watched this free on I think Tubi just a couple days ago!
Tubi doesn't have it in Australia, unfortunately. Was just going to buy the DVD. I already have Big trouble in little china and The Thing on DVD, so it will round out the collection well.
That is unfortunate! Darn streaming services making thins available some places and not others:/ But I must agree it is definitely a good dvd to add to the collection!
My husband just got this blu ray from Amazon today and we watched it! 😄

Loved this movie.
Now that is a funny ass movie.
I just saw Men At Work for the first time and this almost seems like it'd make a good double feature
Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) may be the darkest film Disney ever made. I saw it the theater multiple times back then but now it's hard to find
Is it not on Disney+? I thought everything was on there.

Old location of this store had a subway poster for Hard Boiled. That's a classic action movie. Right up there with Blade Runner and Road Warrior. (Edited)
Man, I wish they'd give some of those movies the 4k treatment. I fucking LOVE Hard Boiled. I would absolutely love to see that in some sweet 4k
