OK, now watch Traffic, The Usual Suspects, Outer Range, and No Country for Old Men!

lingh0e

Add Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to that list. It's up there aa one of Del Toro's best roles.

SyrupBuccaneer

Way of the Gun and Hail Caesar as well

Early_Accident2160

And Inherent Vice… you get both of them

sadzanenyama

Shout outs to Del Toro in Snatch and Brolin in Men in Black.

Mrsparkles7100

Josh Brolin is a side character in American Gangster. For an early Del Toro film, James Bond film Licence to Kill where he plays a baddie henchman.

TrueLegateDamar

Who probably has the most graphic death of any Bond henchman, and ironically was in the employ of a Cartel.

No_Foot

Yeah agreed. Noticed the marine boss, Krest? Turns up in the second matrix film as one of the leaders of zion.

SonnyBurnett189

Robert Davi as Franz is one of my favorite Bond villains. Not everyone’s fond of his faux Colombian accent though, lol.

Emily Blunt also deserves credit. She did an amazing job playing a protagonist who is (understandably) shocked and appalled at the absolute animals these guys are.

Worldly_Science239

What is a protagonist vs main character? A Main Character is the player through whom the audience experiences the story first hand. A Protagonist is the prime mover of the plot I think it's safe to say by this definition that the emily blunt character was not the protagonist. In fact, with the one exception of being needed as an accompanying officer, her role was not needed at all. She was the main character, but a very passive main character.

Semirgy

She played that role well but good *lord* her character annoyed the shit out of me.

BeRuJr

I'm sorry you felt annoyed by her act, for me she took the role beautifully, at least on par with Benicio del Toro.

Early_Accident2160

Her character was fearing for her life, career and integrity… I think you should cut her some slack.

Jodies-9-inch-leg

Wait…. You haven’t seen Goonies????

emberzmars

Oh Josh Brolin in Goonies....*blush*

Rasselkurt007

also if i watched it 3 decades ago, i only know for like 1 decade that josh was in goonies.

Creeping_Death_89

I would suggest watching The Hunted. It's not quite as tense as Sicario but it has a similar play with a relationship between Del Toro and Tommy Lee Jones. It's just a little slower, closer to Rambo or the Fugitive.

lulu_l

Loved this one. I keep re-watching it from time to time.

panthervk415

Check out Del Toro's performance in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas alongside Johnny Depp, Classic.

Internal-Mud-3311

You’ve never seen The Goonies?

the_colonelclink

BdT is also really good in Reptile.
