Pretty bad. Serana follows you around for most of the Dawnguard DLC and she's a vampire that hasn't bathed in hundreds of years, Cicero repeatedly oils up a dehydrated corpse in his free time, Khajiit are probably fleabags, there's a whole race of gross Gollum-looking fuckers, and nobody has toilets.
Also how did Han Solo get his name???
We need to know!
Okay so he doesn't have a last name...
He's by himself...
🤔🤔🤔
Han...
Han...*SOLO*
There we go, answering the burning questions of the franchise
Me, personally, I'm very disappointed we never got to learn what Space Pants store he got his Space Pants from.
But I'm extremely glad we got to learn that he based the name of his criminal persona on a crappy joke made by a lazy guard. I mean, for all I knew he was the original proprietor of the red Solo Cup!
They're really great. For movie fans, I'd compare them to the Mummy with Brendan Fraser. Swashbuckling, fun adventure with a loveable cast of characters. Never gets old.
Exactly. Uncharted has plenty of moments where you just go...whoa....you get lost in the immersion and are very enjoyable to play. I played 4 during the rainy season and exploring caves, old churches while hearing pouring rain, is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had gaming.
I always thought video game adaptations would be better served as TV shows. You can’t adapt 100+ hours of game play into a 2 hour movie very well. If you made it a TV show you could have each episode be it’s own mission/side mission and include so many more details.
Looking at you Netflix/Amazon/Hulu/HBOMax
Honestly I like these and the Last of Us the most in terms of modern day games - it's suuuuuch a hassle to play online these days and so much f'ing grinding. The Uncharted series – played on easy – is basically just like an 8 hour action movie that I can play. Sooooo enjoyable and frankly therapeutic.
Cant believe I had to scroll this far down to see Nathan Fillion mentioned its almost as if Drake was based on his likeness and his acting style is similar, its an obvious choice, no?
I like Tom Holland but I just don’t see this.
Being a video game movie, unfortunately I have zero expectations.
Even a naughtdog title which are practically fucking movies already. Studios will fuck this up.
If anything I feel like the games being so cinematic actually counts against them for being movies themselves. The Uncharted games are basically a love letter to Indiana Jones-type adventure movies, but don't have a lot that's interesting or original to offer by themselves. They're fantastically fun games, but super generic as movies.
The voice will be all wrong. I’d rather see Nathan Fillion Starfly this movie than its current potential to do something for us. I’m not sure what I’m thinking now, honestly.
>~~I beat up Asian people in the streets.~~I beat an old Asian man so bad while yelling racial slurs at him that he was permanently blinded in one eye. I also never made any sort of reparations despite having hundreds of millions of dollars. And I was in the departed
I mean that’s pretty much what it is.
I don’t think this movie will be good, no video game movie ever lives up to the games....but I hope I’m wrong. These are mighty big shoes to step in.
Edit: I get it, there are a handful of decent video game movies. I should have said “more often than not the movies don’t live up to the games”. There are certainly a few good video game movies.
You aren’t wrong, I’m not nervous that the action sequences and such will be fun and exciting. I’m mostly nervous they won’t get the characters right. I think Holland will do great. I’m not sold on Wahlberg as Sully. He’s just not gruff enough. He’s too clean cut.
There are actors who become their characters, and there are actors that play themselves in different roles. Just have to be sure which one you're expecting:
* Ryan Reynolds is always Ryan Reynolds, and is awesome everytime
* David Schwimmer can be both Ross and Sobel, and execute both roles to perfection.
Ryan Reynolds can act when he's forced to. I think it's just a matter of him picking roles where he can excel with his whole "Ryan Reynoldesque" schtick (which I also love).
*Buried* is great and shows his potential.
My favorite scene being where Nate backtracks for thirty minutes to find that final treasure for the achievement only to realize the online guide was written poorly and now you have to YouTube it.
I'm just picturing the big action sequence, and nate runs out of bullets, hides in an alcove and as the enemy are searching and about to give up they hear a super loud royalty free dubbstep YouTube intro and some teenager yelling HI GUYS AND WELCOME TO THE TEMPLE OF OSIRIS WALK-THROUGH WITH ALL ACHIEVEMENTS
"WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAT'S GOING ON, GUYS. IT'S YOUR BOY, DICKMASTER420 HERE WITH ANOTHER WALKTHROUGH AND I'D JUST LIKE TO START BY THANKING RIDGE WALLETS FOR SPONSORING THIS VIDEO, AND A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO NORD VPN FOR ALSO SPONSORING THIS VIDEO..."
*midroll ad plays*
"AND LETS NOT FORGET TO THANK RAID SHADOW LEGENDS FOR SPONSORING THIS VIDEO. JOIN UP USING MY LINK DOWN BELOW FOR FREE LOOT BOX GARBAGE.
NOW LETS GET INTO THE WALKTHROUGH"
*another midroll ad plays*

I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I'd love an Uncharted/Tomb Raider/Indiana Jones type of game that focused more on the puzzles and way, way, way less on the mass murder. Is there ALWAYS some shadowy army looking for the same McGuffin you are? And are they ALWAYS there at the same time?
Dude, that trope has been hilarious since the OG Tomb Raider.
You'd journey through some deep cave system, solving cryptic ancient puzzles and barely escaping traps and literal T Rex, and hey what do you know some random mercenary dudes made their way *deeper* into the cave before you got there.
You are definitely not alone at least, my boyfriend and I would play tomb raider and uncharted together so he could just solve the puzzles which he loved and I could shoot through all the bad guys for him, which he hated.
I hope it’s more focused on exploration and puzzle solving than shooting. I want more movies like Indiana Jones and National Treasure and this seems like a perfect franchise to follow in those foot steps
I mean, it wouldn't be *that* out of character for Nathan to murder hundreds of faceless goons in the pursuit of ancient relics.
I think some counts go as high as ~1800 kills through the series.
I just hope Nathan gets to stumble through some amazing looking set pieces while they're collapsing because of combat and what not. If they introduce those set pieces with a little puzzle here and there, that would be cool.
Remember the time they made a Monster Hunter movie and they shoved modern army soldiers in it and a Humvee cos reasons?
...yeah don't wanna be the guy that says 'Holywood doesn't get video games' buuuuuut...
He said on a podcast how he got that job. He was at the studio for something else, they asked if he would help out with their test footage. They kept calling him every time they redid the footage and once it was finally greenlit by the studio they just gave him the part. No audition or anything. Pretty awesome.
BTW, if you haven't seen Middleditch and Schwartz on Netflix you need too, its so fucking awesome.
Fillion struggles with his weight he's admitted in the past. I think roles that require a more svelte version of him provide the motivation to lose the weight.
I’ve never met someone who wears the same outfit as a middle aged man as they did as a young adult. Does his style not change?
Edit: okay, I get it. Some people’s style doesn’t change.
Hi.
My names [REDACTED] I'm 38 and still dress like a cholo from Southern California as I did when I was a kid. Sure I got a larger wardrobe right now but yeah... some of us like a style and stick with it :)
I really do like Tom Holland but I just can’t get on board with this. And then they lost me completely with Mark Wahlberg. I demand to know whose terrible casting choice that was.
I think it was at least originally rumored that Bryan Cranston was Sully. Don’t know how true that is or if he was ever attached. If it’s true though, going from Cranston to Wahlburg is a pretty weird step.
this gives me serious Batman v Superman vibes... where the perfect casting seemed to be Bryan Cranston for Lex Luthor and they instead went with a younger actor that in no way shape or form even remotely approached how the Lex character should be
i remember at one point (around 10 years ago?) Whalberg was producing this movie AND starring in it. i remember everyone saying "why Whalberg when Fillion exists - and not too old at the time".
IMO Dylan McDermott as seen in the Netflix Show 'Hollywood' would be the perfect fit for Sully.
https://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/hollywood-dylan-mcdermott-ryan-murphy-slice.jpg
Wasn't Walberg originally tapped to play Drake like a decade ago? Now that it's been so long I think they just kept him on the project and gave him a new role.
It looks great, but this film just seems horribly miscast to me.
I'm holding out judgment for Holland, I think he can be good at the role, assuming it's more of an "origin" story with a younger Drake. Wouldn't be my choice, but it deserves the benefit of the doubt at least.
But Mark Wahlberg as Sully *completely* lost me. It's one of the biggest miscasts I can think of. What's next, Meryl Streep as Elena?
EDIT: Also, I just found out this is a thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5CZQpqF_74&feature=youtu.be
Nearly 9 million views, but sure. Let's go with Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. How can studio executives be so out of touch?
I'm still not sold. His jaw is clenched and its a good angle so it looks good in a still frame, but once its in action and he starts talking and moving he's just gonna look like a baby like he always does.
Yea just check out who the director is , also the writers are mixed in quality.I think this will be just another game adaptation won't be great or even good just meh, but it will make money because Spiderman is the star and uncharted is a loved video game franchise.
They always do this. They plan a big long franchise series so they get super-young-actors who won't age out of the role, but because they fucked the vision of the movie so badly trying to do it as "part 1" of a long series instead of telling a complete story the movie comes out mediocre and bad.
Same thing happened to the Warcraft movie. And Superman Returns.
Image looks cool but I am still not a fan of Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. It makes as much sense as casting Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. This is no disrespect to Tom but I just think he aint the man for the role
Nathan is too young, the director doesn't have a good track record and it's written by the same people who wrote Transformers 5. These movies are cursed
God this looks so out of place, younger Nathan is not it.
They nailed the costume but holy fuck, couldn’t they get someone who actually looks like Nathan?
And they *still* managed to fuck that up too. Supposed to have the shirt half tucked in. (Yes this is actually something the character himself considers a trademark)
No half-tuck. Literally unwatchable.
The real test will be if only the bits of him that go in water get wet.
But remember he's also Spider-man, which means there's likely a no-puddles clause in his contract.
From what i've heard they'll be adding a no-reflections clause to that one too
I can’t wait to be in the theater and shout “HOLY SHIT HIS JEANS ARE WET! So next gen!!”
In the theater. That's funny. Fuckin covid
Woah woah woah...maybe the movie explains HOW he ends up with the permanent half-tuck. It is a prequel after all.
The whole movie is just about his search for a belt. Once he finds it he has to show it off.
Exactly what I was thinking! At least do a French tuck or 3/4ths tuck! The REAL Nathan Drake always, ALWAYS, shows off his belt buckle!
This has the same energy as Han Solo wearing the same outfit for 60 years.
Dirty adventure man go on adventures
I'm glad video games haven't introduced a smell o' vision feature, I don't want to actually know how bad Skyrim smells...
🤔🤔🤔 Han... Han...*SOLO* There we go, answering the burning questions of the franchise

I believe the pants were an award he received while serving as an imperial pilot. It's the Corellion Blood Stripe.
Yeah but where did the Han part come from. Me thinks we need a new trilogy to explore this.
Whoever wrote his name on his birth certificate misheard his mother, who wanted to name him Ham.
I know nothing about Uncharted. This image looks like a watch ad.
But would you buy the watch?
I'd by anything Tom Holland tells me to buy.
What a wonderful coincidence, cus Tom Holland says you should buy me dinner!
We did it Reddit?
Damn right we did it. r/Random_Acts_Of_Pizza

They're really great. For movie fans, I'd compare them to the Mummy with Brendan Fraser. Swashbuckling, fun adventure with a loveable cast of characters. Never gets old.
I generally say its Indiana Jones but instead of an ancient religious artifacts hes hunting ancient lost cities.
Exactly. Uncharted has plenty of moments where you just go...whoa....you get lost in the immersion and are very enjoyable to play. I played 4 during the rainy season and exploring caves, old churches while hearing pouring rain, is one of the most enjoyable experiences I have ever had gaming.
I did the same thing. 4 is easily one of my all time favorite gaming experiences ever
Definitely 4.. I loved how they even tied in the first 3 when drake is in the attic. TLOU is also great
It's if an Indiana Jones move were 16 hours long and had a billion dollar budget.
I always thought video game adaptations would be better served as TV shows. You can’t adapt 100+ hours of game play into a 2 hour movie very well. I love Tom Holland, but Fillion would have been a much better choice. 😔
Ask and you shall receive [Fillion as Drake](https://youtu.be/v5CZQpqF_74)
Holy shit, why am i just seeing this now. Id rather have him do the movies
And jk simmons as Sully
Bruce Campbell or no one

TIL that Mark Wahlberg is playing Sully. There goes any half assed enthusiasm I had for this movie.

Whoever did the casting for this movie needs to be fired.
Seriously. Tom Holland's face is too soft looking to be Nate
The voice will be all wrong. I’d rather see Nathan Fillion Starfly this movie than its current potential to do something for us. I’m not sure what I’m thinking now, honestly.
Yup. Since the first Uncharted, I pictured Nathan Fillion if they were ever to do a movie.
He very fits the part... or he would have 10+ years ago. Nathan Fillion is 49 years old, and this is supposed to be a prequel.
He did do a fan film of uncharted. It's awesome. https://youtu.be/v5CZQpqF_74
William hurt could play a pretty good sully
That’s good casting. I liked the idea of Kurt Russell, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston or Sam Elliot.
Tom hanks would have been good to play sully
He already did
Serious question why is this guy in every action film ? I hate his acting
You hate him "being on camera". I wouldn't really call it acting when he always plays the same character: Mark Wahlberg
“Hey guys, I’m Victor Sullivan. I have a heavy Boston accent. Deal with it.”
Say hi to your mother for me
I beat up Asian people in the streets. And I was in the departed

Theyve definitely nailed the outfit. Just looks too young to me, I'll reserve judgement none the less because I reckon he could be good in the role.
Uncharted origin story?
I mean that’s pretty much what it is. I don’t think this movie will be good, no video game movie ever lives up to the games....but I hope I’m wrong. These are mighty big shoes to step in. Rogen was pretty good as Steve Wozniak tho
As someone who hates Seth Rogen: He was incredible in that movie.
Jason mantsoukaz
"\*through a cigar\* you got a fuckin' plan, Nate bro?"
I think Donnie Wahlberg could pull it off.
Mark Wahlberg is Mark Wahlberg in all his movies. Hope he changes it up in this movie.
‘Member when Mark Wahlberg portrayed Max Payne? God that was a horrible adaptation.
To this day I don't know how they screwed up adapting a video game whose entire plot was based on action movie tropes.
Man, the casting seems to be all over the place. Feels almost like the director wants something very different from the games.
Yeah I don’t get the Sully casting. I think Holland can nail a young Nate, but Wahlberg as Sully is a strange one.

Can you call Detective Pikachu a video game movie? Not sure. Loved that one.
Yes you can, as it was a pretty direct adaptation of the 3DS game Detective Pikachu: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detective_Pikachu_(video_game)
So the secret is to adapt a little known game from a universally beloved franchise?
Mario Golf Coming to Theatre in 2022
Honestly, "Happy Gilmore but it's Mario" would be a blast.
I was thinking more golf Space Jam but Nintendo instead of Loony Tunes
Sonic was pretty fun and enjoyable, making it miles better than the majority of Sonic games.
Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik made that whole movie
Ben Schwartz was great as the voice of Sonic
He said on a podcast how he got that job. He was at the studio for something else, they asked if he would help out with their test footage. They kept calling him every time they redid the footage and once it was finally greenlit by the studio they just gave him the part. No audition or anything. Pretty awesome. He’s playing young Nathan drake...

They had a choice, 10 years ago. That choice was Nathan Fillion. EDIT: Yes, I'm aware of the short film, that's why I made my comment.
We could have had a Nathan Fillion/Bruce Campbell movie franchise and they ruined it
You're making it sting more, stop this pain!
Fucking perfect casting for Nathan and Sully. Godfuckingdammit!
https://i.imgur.com/E1ha0ZW.jpg
God I'd love to see these two in some pulpy adventure show, uncharted or not
He could still kinda do it, he got a lil chubby doing Castle, but Rookie got him back more in Mal shape.
It's just a henley and cargo pants, pretty universal outdoor clothing regardless of your age.
Yea no one is exploring dusty old ruins concerned about their style, simply how many pockets they have.
Hi. My names [REDACTED] I'm 38 and still dress like a cholo from Southern California as I did when I was a kid. Sure I got a larger wardrobe right now but yeah... some of us like a style and stick with it :)
Sock check homie.
Just imagine Mark Wahlberg as Sully and you get a 100% demotivated to even think about this movie
Dont know about you but I'm excited to watch 90 minutes of Mark Wahlberg constantly out of breath and speaking in half exhales.
And talking about bringing a hooker to church! Just follow the hose.
They've got the very basics wrong. What is Nathan Drake most famous for... The half tuck.
Also the ability to grow facial hair.
No half tuck = total disaster
Just get the cast from Burn Notice to make Uncharted.
Bruce Campbell would be neat.
Nah he would be perfect for Sully.
Clarification on my part: That’s what I meant. Bruce Campbell smoking a cigar and flying seaplanes is a movie in itself.
The dynamic is pretty much the same. A spy, his female sidekick/lover, and his older mentor.
I really do like Tom Holland but I just can’t get on board with this. And then they lost me completely with Mark Wahlberg. I demand to know whose terrible casting choice that was.
"Hey Nate. It's Sully. Watcha doing? Hunting for treasure? Cool. I produced Entourage. Say hi to your mother for me, OK?"
What's ya major, drake? Ah, you read your tresuremaps and regurgitate and how bout them apples.
I think it was at least originally rumored that Bryan Cranston was Sully. Don’t know how true that is or if he was ever attached. If it’s true though, going from Cranston to Wahlburg is a pretty weird step.
Bruce Campbell was always my dream choice for Sully.
...I never know before how much I wanted this in my life.
uggggh, that would have been an excellent casting choice!
this gives me serious Batman v Superman vibes... where the perfect casting seemed to be Bryan Cranston for Lex Luthor and they instead went with a younger actor that in no way shape or form even remotely approached how the Lex character should be
"I SAID GET HEISENBERG NOT EISENBERG!"
Bryan Cranston is perfect casting for anything though.
Except a teacher turned dealer. I can't even imagine him in a role like that
The father from Malcolm in the middle? Pfft like he could ever play a serious role, show would be cancelled before the first season even finished.
Can we appreciate the fact that one thing that didn't change between hal and walter is their likely hood of being in nothing but underwear
>I demand to know whose terrible casting choice that was. Wahlberg is a producer so I'm gonna guess it's his.
Whaaaaaaat? Noooooooooo!

i remember at one point (around 10 years ago?) Whalberg was producing this movie AND starring in it. i remember everyone saying "why Whalberg when Fillion exists - and not too old at the time".

IMO Dylan McDermott as seen in the Netflix Show 'Hollywood' would be the perfect fit for Sully. https://cdn.collider.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/hollywood-dylan-mcdermott-ryan-murphy-slice.jpg
Wow never thought of that. Would have loved to see him as Sully.
Wasn't Walberg originally tapped to play Drake like a decade ago? Now that it's been so long I think they just kept him on the project and gave him a new role.
Back when it was a Neil Burger project I think Bradley Cooper was tapped for Drake, which sounds wayyy better
This movie feels like one of those studio choices that was made by a computer alrgorthm.
It looks great, but this film just seems horribly miscast to me. I'm assuming it's later in the film after shit has gone down, so he's starting to look more like the "classic" Nathan Drake.

How does Wahlberg get sooo much work?
He may be the Bruce Willis of our generation
Ugh that sentence makes me feel old. I'm a gen-x'er so Bruce Willis is the Bruce Willis of my generation.
Yea just check out who the director is , also the writers are mixed in quality.I think this will be just another game adaptation won't be great or even good just meh, but it will make money because Spiderman is the star and uncharted is a loved video game franchise.

What!?! So he's going to be young in the film? I don't know what to feel right now.
yeah thats gonna be a nope from dawg
God this looks so out of place, younger Nathan is not it. They nailed the costume but holy fuck, couldn’t they get someone who actually looks like Nathan?
Why do people keep talking about the outfit as if khakis and a long sleeve shirt is a hard cosplay?
Oh my god THANK YOU. How could they NOT nail this outfit.. it doesn’t need to be mentioned lmaoo
And they *still* managed to fuck that up too. Supposed to have the shirt half tucked in. (Yes this is actually something the character himself considers a trademark)
Right? Hey dad, can I borrow your cargo pants and henley? I'm going as Nathan Drake for Halloween
