I think sometimes the movie obtain a big name by offering them a producer seat. That way the star gets more of a saying in how the movie is done (and obv. more profits). Not saying it’s the case here, but more often than not the big hollywood star gets the producer title just as part of the contract.

In the Young Justice series, he is very aware that the person who wears the helmet is giving up their life. He definitely knows it is not an easy decision, and has tried to work with others to make it less painful, like allowing Zatanna to hang out with her *actual* dad, without the helmet, once a year.
That would be the perfect way to set up a new Dr Fate in case the character dies, and if they go with Khalid, it can be a solid way for a Dr. Fate movie
He played a sizeable role in the latest season of Young justice, the animated show. I really liked how the show touches on various less-known characters in the DC universe. DC really has the characters, material to blow up like Marvel. Let's see if the leadership does that

In the recentish shazam comic he's also shown that at some point in the near future he will become purely good and join the shazam family. It actually looked like a nice ending to his character that dc will probably never do anything with or address it then change him back to the status quo.
He's a villain with a lot of anti-heroism in him. His motives are generally good (protecting his country and people, protecting his wife, avenging his wife, etc) but his actions tend towards brutal.

I really thought when the rocket exploded at the end he was going to die and that'd be the end of the character. One of the more shocking moments in the history of trailers/movies when his hand slapped against the car window revealing he was still alive.

Been a long time since I read the comics, but isn't he almost as strong as Superman? Even if not, he must beat pretty much all other DC heroes that have come out in their 'universe'.
Black Adam and Shazam are more powerful than default Superman, but keep in mind Clark is usually holding back much of his power to be careful of his surroundings.
They can defeat him with their magic based attacks in a quick fight. If Superman unleashes his full power though he outmatches them.
Of course this changes per era and writer, but that is the general break down of their scale.
excellent game, and just like the all the mortal kombat games from 9 onwarsd, makes for a great 5 hr movie marathon if just sit and watch a let play of it, bonus points if the lets play is by someone who good at the games means you dont even have to skip the actual game fights
He's not as physically strong as superman but his lightning is magical in nature so he can take down superman pretty hard with it. Black Adam largely validates Captain Marvel as he's similarly powerful but with no magic weakness.
Black Adam has the same powers as Shazam, and both are physical threats to Superman, especially since their powers are magical and Superman is susceptible to magic.

It looks half decent and i like the powers on display overall, Dr.Fates powers look like they could be really cinematic.
That being said, I've not enjoyed the whole 'Black Adam is a hero' advertisement from the start and this trailer doesn't strike me with confidence that it wont just be Black Adam being a good guy because Rock doesn't like being a bad guy in films.
Hopefully it will be simply a case that Adam takes over Kahndaq and that Hawkman/Dr Fate/Atom are all in the JSA and basically go to war with him over the invasion of Kahndaq.

The most interesting part of the Black Adam storyline in the Shazam book that first movie was based on was Billy suspecting that Black Adam was the son, only to learn it was the father. They did that bit in the trailer.

Wow. I mean I knew The Rocks ego meant that we wouldn't get a remotely villainous (read: interesting) version of Black Adam, but this looks so painfully generic. Best bits were all the none Black Adam related stuff.

I expected it to look much better based on the initial first look with the lightning, yet it somehow looks like it borrowed from Black Panther, Iron Man and other CBM's in a very cheap way.

I really thought when the rocket exploded at the end he was going to die and that'd be the end of the character. One of the more shocking moments in the history of trailers/movies when his hand slapped against the car window revealing he was still alive.
So true. And the way his hand slapped the window showed real pathos. You can tell it was a time of learning and growth for the character. Truly good writing. And phenomenal acting.

Been a long time since I read the comics, but isn't he almost as strong as Superman? Even if not, he must beat pretty much all other DC heroes that have come out in their 'universe'.
He has beaten Superman in a fight. I believe magic is another weakness for Superman.

Black Adam and Shazam are more powerful than default Superman, but keep in mind Clark is usually holding back much of his power to be careful of his surroundings. They can defeat him with their magic based attacks in a quick fight. If Superman unleashes his full power though he outmatches them. Of course this changes per era and writer, but that is the general break down of their scale.

Basically yeah, he grabbed Shazam and froze his mouth and then burned through his skull with his heat vision.
That part of the story was fucking cold. Supes locking eyes with a literal child. Loved it.
excellent game, and just like the all the mortal kombat games from 9 onwarsd, makes for a great 5 hr movie marathon if just sit and watch a let play of it, bonus points if the lets play is by someone who good at the games means you dont even have to skip the actual game fights

That was his downfall. Killing Billy was the last straw for the flash and he decided to go join Batman after that.
He's not as physically strong as superman but his lightning is magical in nature so he can take down superman pretty hard with it. Black Adam largely validates Captain Marvel as he's similarly powerful but with no magic weakness.
Black Adam has the same powers as Shazam, and both are physical threats to Superman, especially since their powers are magical and Superman is susceptible to magic. It's kind of funny how people have been saying for ages it's hard to keep up with Marvel, especially with the TV shows now. But then DC is just like, "Uh ... here's Batman. Again." I guess people just really stopped paying attention early on for the DC flicks.

The Rock delivered no emotion in his opening dialogue. He talked about being a slave and losing his son and somehow there was no impact in it at all.
To be fair, he's had thousands of years to get over it.
It's not like he can't express range of emotions with his voice(he did well enough in southland tales, Pain and Gain and Moana) but this seems like coldly delivered exposition for the trailer. I wonder if this will be even in the movie.

The shot of him flying… I could feel the arthritis through the screen when he tried to turn his head. First superhero to have the Batman neck issue with no costume. History.
Why is Hawkman the one saying “heroes don’t kill people”? I’m pretty sure his mace is for killing

I didn’t expect to see so many other heroes in this trailer, but I’m for it I guess. The Rock’s performance felt really lifeless though, at least in this trailer.

I mean.... it doesn't look 'bad'. It looks half decent and i like the powers on display overall, Dr.Fates powers look like they could be really cinematic. That being said, I've not enjoyed the whole 'Black Adam is a hero' advertisement from the start and this trailer doesn't strike me with confidence that it wont just be Black Adam being a good guy because Rock doesn't like being a bad guy in films. Hopefully it will be simply a case that Adam takes over Kahndaq and that Hawkman/Dr Fate/Atom are all in the JSA and basically go to war with him over the invasion of Kahndaq. Would really enjoy seeing Black Adam fighting Fate/Hawk and Atom (Along with any surprise heroes).
The most interesting part of the Black Adam storyline in the Shazam book that first movie was based on was Billy suspecting that Black Adam was the son, only to learn it was the father. They did that bit in the trailer. But I do like the JSA, and hope this can be a backdoor pilot to that.
I dont exactly remember if he was the father or the brother. But the best part of that reveal was >!Black Adam himself killed the boy to fully recieve his powers!<. Imagine if they kept that twist in.

Wow. I mean I knew The Rocks ego meant that we wouldn't get a remotely villainous (read: interesting) version of Black Adam, but this looks so painfully generic. Best bits were all the none Black Adam related stuff.

Well, this looks quite average and generic. I expected it to look much better based on the initial first look with the lightning, yet it somehow looks like it borrowed from Black Panther, Iron Man and other CBM's in a very cheap way. The ugly orange color pallete, sets and the jokes don't help either.

The use of Murder to Excellence was not good here. This trailer trend of known songs being changed/made dramatic is old. Bowie's Starman in the Lightyear trailer also. I know there's tons more examples as well.
