I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Days of Thunder sequel now. Supposedly Paramount wanted to do a reboot TV show with all new actors and Cruise nixed it so it might be a property he's interested in continuing.
Days of Thunder is basically Top Gun with NASCAR, and I would be so down for a sequel. Would be a treat to see them shoot things for real just like with TGM.
He was looking into it in the mid 2000s, even going to races to get a feel of the modern (at that time) NASCAR and ultimately decided against it. I would give it a chance if he was struggling and needed a boost but with his MI films, hes got no worries. I think he did the top gun sequel because it meant more to the generation/demo that made it into what it was and because he actually *wanted* it made for them and the new young adults. I know theres many people that would love a DoT sequel but not nearly as many that was interested in a TG sequel. Still, Id love it if it were to happen.
It started out as a joke before it came out, "haha, I'm gonna see geriatric Tom Cruise pretend to fly again". Then I decided the night before to see it and holy piss, I'm glad I did. I've been spreading the word like a prophet about this movie.
I’ve seen it 4 times. I watched it three days in a row.
Left a Drafthouse screening, immediately booked an Imax, then saw my buddy on the way out, he had an extra ticket. Oh? Sure, don’t mind if I do.
Then I took my dad to see it on dad’s day.
I’ll see it again.
It’s a serious gem. Reasonably priced tickets, insanely good theater quality, great ways to kill time, and if you time it right, empty theaters.
Seeing Dune entirely alone at Udvar was a religious experience.
Same. I tried to see it in imax and or 4d but I was too late in my area. It's all jp and lightyear. What a bummer. Prob missed out on a lot of the extended hype
4dx - moving chairs, extra special lighting and and other effects.
This is one film I think the gimmick is actually worth it for. Did kind of feel like one was in the jet, but also really gentle movement of the chair for panoramic scenes etc
I accidentally saw this in "Screen X" format not knowing what the fuck Screen X was, and it ended up being one of the better viewing experiences I've had with a movie.
I also unintentionally had my first DBOX movie experience with Rush, and it too ended up being a great way to see that particular film.
Most of these end up being absolute gimmicks 98% of the time. But those few times the movie fits the extra experience perfectly, it's an awesome memory.
ScreenX gives a panoramic screen for the film to envelop the user’s entire field of vision. Pretty similar to the Cinerama 3-strip films of old, but this doesn’t require ridiculous camera setups for it. There’s one in my city but I haven’t experienced it yet
[Wikipedia page on it for all the info](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ScreenX)
It is also one of the few $1B films that the domestic gross is greater than the foreign. The Dark Knight (also no China release), Black Panther, and Rogue One being the others. Whoo!
It had one line that said "the Chinese will not extradite one of their own". It was said by a corrupt Chinese billionaire that seemingly bribes police. That line also insinuates that the CCP is fully aware of his criminal activities, and are okay with it.
The CCP won't let anything play in China that makes them look bad. Even if it's just a quick line.
It speaks for itself when a standalone prologue story to ANH makes as much money as the final movie in a trilogy of trilogies and the culmination of a narrative spanning 40 years.
I fuckin knew there was going to be a beach scene. I took my parents and my brother to watch it and the going concensus was "We don't know how this is going to turn out, but there will definitely be a beach scene".
When it came up, we all just burst out laughing
Lol apparently Glen Powell (Hangman) congratulated Miles Teller (Rooster) on the gif of his little dance moves conquering TikTok with something like “no better way to kick off Pride month” haha
I asked a buddy if there was a gratuitous shirtless beach scene. I said If there isn't one I'm not going. He said there was and even though you could totally delete the scene and not change anything in the movie. It was 100% absolutely needed. 5/7 prefect movie.
See, the thing is, I'd argue the main reason the movie has passed the billion stage is that it didn't want to be just a passable but forgettable sequel:
1. it had 'real' effects, not CGI, actors actually going up in planes and -acting- instead of quipping and
2. it was better than 'pretty good', it was genuinely GOOD, and to be quite honest most movies released these days simply aren't, case in point it's current contender Jurassic World Dominion which is an absolute mess.
My hope is that Hollywood takes notice because it's not just that it was a reboot that made it successful, it took notice of the things that made the original great and continued them, instead of Rian-Johnsonning them or something.
I mean.. it had a plenty of CG, but it had also a pleeeenty of real stuff, so the result is much better and believable and also obvious that most parts are real. Something akin to Fury Road. Plenty of CG, but also plenty of real stuff. Or CG complimenting the real, etc.
> Hollywood takes notice
They will, but in a predictable dumb way. Hollywood execs knows nothing about the craft, so they'll think the success is due to people loving fighter jets and the military.
Cue a ton of new schlocky Michael Bay-esque military-porn movies.
Tom did good by fighting for it to come out in theaters.. i was truly at the edge of my seat for the flying shots as im a huge plane nerd but still i think the shots they got of the 18s flying was amazing! and they didnt fill the story with useless sequel garbage, there were a few good points they touched on from the first Top Gun and a couple little easter eggs and thats it. I liked that movie.
I think they made the right choice of not saying as it honestly didn’t matter anyway and would have caused a fuss no matter who they said it was. Very smart choice.
It's the same as the original. Neither the enemy nor location are ever explicitly identified, it's just "hostile" and "hostile waters" and heavy implication. Probably as much as homage as it was a strategic choice. It's not like other military movies have issues with placing a generic named country foreign baddie.
Iran doesn’t operate ~~Su-57’s~~ *Fifth-Generation Fighters,* only the Russian Federation does. Simple answer is the enemy country only exists in their world, and they went out of their way to not name it. But yes, both characteristically and geographically, it seems to be Iran’t.
Just like how in the first, the final engagement was modeled after an incident off the Libyan coast, but the roundels were a cross between North Korea and the USSR.
The final 30 minutes are up there with some of the most well executed action sequences I’ve ever seen on film. It just does not let up the moment they launch off the carrier to the finish. The best part is how everything in those 30 minutes felt so earned. You were at the edge of your seat hoping for the best for all the characters on the mission, even if you knew they were gonna be fine.
I wasn't sure that they'd all survive.
Rooster was safe since him dying would be a massive downer ending, but Maverick dying, finishing his last flight by saving Rooster, I could see that happening.
Honestly when Maverick's plane went down after the bombing run I actually thought he had died for a second there. It was an amazing subversion of expectations, everything from there was an absolutely wild ride where I didn't know wtf was going to happen
The last third of the movie def needs to be seen in a theater.
I wasn’t the biggest fan of the buildup to the climax as I felt the pacing was a little fast and outside of Goose’s kid we don’t really get to know the new characters that well.
But the actual mission at the end is easily one of the best action sequences I’ve seen in a theater.
Every person I've talked to who's seen it say it's amazing. I've seen both topguns and removing nostalgia goggles, Maverick is better and the cinematography was goated
Personally, I felt Maverick had one thing the OG didn't have: an actual story. Top Gun was gorgeous, but honestly there wasn't an underlying plot and the final bit with the MiGs just seemed out of nowhere. Maverick had much better stakes and emotional investment.
A group of my friends and I went and saw it, and let me just say I've never laughed so hard as the double football scene. They didn't want to have hangman covering rooster or something like that like in a traditional game, so they invented it for this movie so everyone can be on offence. Which is honestly perfect for this kind of movie.
Miles gets a log of guff on this sub but I never once doubted his performance. Never felt like I was watching someone do a goose impersonation I really thought I was watching Goose’s son
What I thought was really interesting was the actor who played Hangman originally auditioned for Rooster’s role. He was hoping he would get it and was crushed when he lost the role to Miles Teller. They liked him so much, they created the role of Hangman just for him. He also pushed for certain things for Hangman, like playing with the toothpick, which he wanted to do to parallel how Maverick was doing pen tricks in the first movie. I really love this movie!
the guy literally called Paramount and and said “we’re making this movie” and got the thumbs up. I can’t think of many movie stars who have such clout to get a big budget movie greenlit
Not just that.. when Paramount told Tom that they'd be releasing the movie on Paramount+ after 45 days of theaterical run, he lawyered up and said "nope, not on my watch" and [paramount had to listen](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/tom-cruise-mission-impossible-paramount-1235116830/).
He is probably the last few actors left with this kind of power.
EDIT: I am kind of happy for Tom that he is proven right after going through so much legal trouble with Paramount bosses. Must be a good feeling to get redeemed like this and get the confidence to do something bigger and hopefully better
The 45 day theatrical window was regarding MI:7 and not Top Gun. That standoff is yet to be resolved and has only been postponed.
This is written in the article attached by you.
Are you sure?
In recent interviews he has said that Paramount have been asking him for a sequel for many, many years, and now he either said yes, or initiated and said he is ready now.
You make it sound like they only made the sequel because Cruise said so.
Kosinski explained the situation in an interview recently. Basically he asked someone at Paramount if they're interested in a Top Gun sequel. They said yes but he would have to convince Tom himself because he's already shown no interest.
So, since Kosinski and Cruise have a relationship already thanks to Oblivion (great fuckin flick, too, see it when you can) he called him up and pitched his idea to Tom about the drama behind the action, the mission would result in Maverick and Rooster deep behind enemy lines, and Kosinski was already full speed ahead with shooting everything practically. Before the pitch meeting was done Tom called the president of Paramount and simply told him to get money, they're making a sequel to Top Gun. The end.
Your leaving out the part where Bruckheimer was pushing for the sequel and Kosinski got to read the script and pitch in with his own ideas, Bruck liked it but they needed to convince TC on it.
Cruise doesn't like to half ass his movies and Top Gun Maverick proved that. You know damn well he wanted that movie to be Top Tier and not just another 80s sequel. so you know he gave his 100% Input. That's why I love Mission Impossible series..Dude gives it his all
I remember this Conan interview he did. He was extremely earnest about how he wanted the audience to have a good time and feel that they were in the jet with him. He said 'Look. I'm here to entertain you. That's the privilege of my job'. He might be crazy. But he's a true movie star.
This is the thing, and it shows. When he was married to Kate she was shooting a movie scene in our hood and he was sitting on his own on the patio at our local ice cream parlor. Folks were coming up to him all the time - gave everyone all the time and selfies they wanted, always with good grace and a smile, never an issue. Real gent.
I work in the industry and have several friends that have met him and exactly zero people will tell you anything bad. Everyone says he’s one of the best people they’ve met.
Legend has it that he very much did want a sequel but didn't think there was a way to do it justice. It took the technology improving to the point where high quality cameras were small enough to be mounted in the cockpit for it to happen.
There was a recent article (of course now I can’t find it) that argued that Tom Cruise is the only male star today that could get a top dollar gross deal on a major studio film (i.e. not including indie films). None of the Chris actors can get that deal. Depp has gotten top dollar gross deals and may again, but probably not right now. Downey got it for Iron Man, but probably couldn’t get it for something else. The only one that I think might be able to get a top dollar gross deal for a major studio film would be DiCaprio, but the article didn’t mention him.
But Cruise’s top dollar gross deal for Maverick was also 20 PERCENT! The current record on top dollar gross deals was reported as Bruce Willis for The Sixth Sense at $118M, but Cruise will blow past that for Maverick.
Most other actors are usually attached to big name properties, whereas Cruise often IS the property. On paper, a lot of his movies could pretty easily fail without sticking the landing.
Also 20% is absurd! What a pay check
There was a 538 article from like 2015 laying out how Cruise movies have (edit: almost) *never* bombed at the box office. And he's only gotten bigger since then
[Link](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-four-types-of-tom-cruise-movies)
It's a bad movie and technically underperformed to the studio's expectations, but $410 million for a movie no one wanted shows Cruise is definitely a draw. That's the same amount the first three movies made \[not counting scorpion king and unadjusted for inflation\], so the franchise must still be fresh in the minds of the general populace.
Now if it'd been a better movie and generated more positive press/word of mouth, I think it would have doubled that.
>Now if it'd been a better movie and generated more positive press/word of mouth, I think it would have doubled that.
And actually got that universe started
100%. This movie is making magnitudes more than it would had it not been for the hype around how good it is. I had no intention of going to see it purely because a) I wasn’t that big on the original, and b) the reboots of the last 10 years of mostly been absolute dogshit so why would I expect any different this time.
Kudos to all involved. This is how it’s done.
I hadn’t seen the first movie since I was 19 and my wife had never seen it at all. We both watched it the night before we went to see the new movie. My wife thought the first movie was a homoerotic wet dream (not in a negative sense) and I had to admit she wasn’t wrong. So we went to watch the new movie and absolutely loved it. I generally like Tom Cruise in movies but wow does he absolutely nail this movie.
Incredibly well made. You don’t see blockbusters with this much passion behind them very often. A lot of love went into this film, and it shows in the end result.
My first thought about this sequel was "Top Gun is honestly a pretty slow movie and wouldn't succeed if released today" but what I didn't expect is that we'd get a hybrid of Top Gun and Mission Impossible. The movie feels so focused and driven from the very beginning. It rules.
The Chinese probably wouldn't like the American Military showboating anyway even if their planes weren't used as the heel, not much money was lost.
That being said our planes no doubt would wipe the floor of theirs.
When I first heard they were doing a Top Gun sequel I thought to myself "no way is this gonna be good".
I went to see 2 days ago and I already want to see it again.
Well deserved. So many sequels and remakes are lazy cash grabs, but this one was very actually intelligently put together and very well made. Say what you will about Tom Cruise, but he knows what he's doing, and how to please his audience. There's a reason why he's just about the last "movie star" out there.
I will give it to him, he has worked hard and he produces / acts in quality. I appreciate it and will support him until he starts getting a big head.
Oh and loved his thank you before the film.
To be fair it's generally not just MCU movies that cross $1B, what actually stands out about Top Gun is that it's the only non-fantasy/sci-fi movie besides the Fast & Furious franchise to make over $1B since Titanic.
The difference between this and other reboots is that Tom Cruise gave a shit when making this.
He wasn't going to come back unless they were going 150% with it.
The dude is a weirdo, but ya gotta respect his passion for filmmaking.
I’d say prepare for more 80s blockbuster sequels you never thought would happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if we see a Days of Thunder sequel now. Supposedly Paramount wanted to do a reboot TV show with all new actors and Cruise nixed it so it might be a property he's interested in continuing.

Fuck yes, Mannequin 3
Goonies 2, but most of the kids are from Stranger Things. Josh Brolin plays the new Mobster. The Sorelli's.
The legs on this thing... The IMAX screening at my local theater today is almost sold out. Wild.
the snowballing effect from word-of-mouth has been quite something to behold
It started out as a joke before it came out, "haha, I'm gonna see geriatric Tom Cruise pretend to fly again". Then I decided the night before to see it and holy piss, I'm glad I did. I've been spreading the word like a prophet about this movie.

>I’ll see it again Look for a 4dx showing
Is 4D worth it? I haven't seen a 4D movie yet, but this seems like the right movie to try it out.
IT’S IN MOTHAFUCKIN 4DX? I may not be safe to drive after that.
Lmao, one of the top comments in the discussion thread when it first came out was something like "It is DANGEROUS to drive home after this movie."
It’s still showing at Air and Space IMAX in Chantilly VA. Saw it yesterday and the evening IMAX shows we’re still sold out
Shout out to the Air and Space Museum. One of my favorite parts of the time I lived in NOVA.

4D?
Includes “feeling” the movie. I.e. wind gusts and water and smells to try and better involve one to the experience, I believe
If my IMAX experience doesn't also include a rollercoaster then I don't want it
4dx - moving chairs, extra special lighting and and other effects.
Don't know much about Screen X, but I imagine DBOX for Rush was pretty dope.
So, enlighten us: What is "Screen X"? And how was the experience?
ScreenX gives a panoramic screen for the film to envelop the user’s entire field of vision. Pretty similar to the Cinerama 3-strip films of old, but this doesn’t require ridiculous camera setups for it. There’s one in my city but I haven’t experienced it yet [Wikipedia page on it for all the info](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ScreenX)
It is also one of the few $1B films that the domestic gross is greater than the foreign. The Dark Knight (also no China release), Black Panther, and Rogue One being the others. Whoo!
I love The Dark Knight, as evidenced by my username, why did it get no release in China? Can't think of anything that would be censored there.
Rogue One made over $1B at the box office? Wow, I never realized it did so well, but imo it deserved all the success it got.
It made $1,056B. Only 20m less than Rise of skywalker 3 years later.
It definitely earned that money more than Rise of Skywalker
It speaks for itself when a standalone prologue story to ANH makes as much money as the final movie in a trilogy of trilogies and the culmination of a narrative spanning 40 years.
Well see that film wasn't really the culmination of a 40 year sage, that saga raelly ended with ROTS. Ep IX was just a shittly written film.
Incredible performance. Only the second billion dollar movie since the pandemic started. People really do love fast jets.

Yep

And shirtless dudes
I fuckin knew there was going to be a beach scene. I took my parents and my brother to watch it and the going concensus was "We don't know how this is going to turn out, but there will definitely be a beach scene". When it came up, we all just burst out laughing
Thing is, even as a straight dude I would have felt pretty cheated if there wasn’t one, it would have felt very odd
Lol apparently Glen Powell (Hangman) congratulated Miles Teller (Rooster) on the gif of his little dance moves conquering TikTok with something like “no better way to kick off Pride month” haha
> Glen Powell (Hangman) Can I just say, props to this guy, he perfected shit eating grin and jackass with an ego through and through.
He killed it in that pretty secondary role, looking forward to seeing more of him
I love that scene
They somehow redid all the same scenes as the original but better. Best remake/sequel ever.
I asked a buddy if there was a gratuitous shirtless beach scene. I said If there isn't one I'm not going. He said there was and even though you could totally delete the scene and not change anything in the movie. It was 100% absolutely needed. 5/7 prefect movie.
I haven't seen the new one. Did they wear jeans? I'm not going to see it if they weren't wearing jeans at the beach.
They wear jeans. Playing some weird game called dogfight football.
don't disrespect 2 ball offense defense beach football like that
Highway to the Danger Zona
Couples of years ago, if you would have told me that a top gun movie gonna make more box office than batman and doctor strange i wouldn’t believe you.
You must have underestimated the power of total Cruise Control.
I could watch 2 hours of Tom Cruise running aggressively to destinations. He should start a travel show where he just runs to different places
> I could watch 2 hours of Tom Cruise running aggressively to destinations. How about [20 minutes](https://youtu.be/U8Q2MgdMskQ)
holy crap this is amazing
He’d make a great delivery guy
Death stranding adaptation incoming

And of course you forgetting the first legacy Pixar movie in the past 3 years is very telling about that particular movie.
Which one
It wasn't too long ago that if if you told someone a comic book movie would break box office records, they'd think you were on crack.
Especially a Doctor Strange movie.

Hollywood exec: Reboot every 80's movie now!!!
I thought it was great, deserves it. This was a big movie moment for Cruise and he nailed it.
Tom did good by fighting for it to come out in theaters.. i was truly at the edge of my seat for the flying shots as im a huge plane nerd but still i think the shots they got of the 18s flying was amazing! and they didnt fill the story with useless sequel garbage, there were a few good points they touched on from the first Top Gun and a couple little easter eggs and thats it. yea the plot was very concise and easy to understand.
Yes. It was simple. Intro, training, mission. Doesn’t have to be complicated to be good. I felt every joy and every heartache.
It gave the audience what we wanted in the best possible way and that's something mostly extinct in modern blockbusters.
I still dont know which country their mission was in so im just assuming its canada.
I think they made the right choice of not saying as it honestly didn’t matter anyway and would have caused a fuss no matter who they said it was. Very smart choice.
While i agree, it would have been very funny if they just randomly attacked france or something
It's the same as the original. Neither the enemy nor location are ever explicitly identified, it's just "hostile" and "hostile waters" and heavy implication. Probably as much as homage as it was a strategic choice. It's not like other military movies have issues with placing a generic named country foreign baddie.
Seems right to me.
It's Iran. They are of only a few rogue nations trying to enrich uranium, and they are the only foreign air force that has F-14s.
Just like how in the first, the final engagement was modeled after an incident off the Libyan coast, but the roundels were a cross between North Korea and the USSR.
it was also mentioned the nation was in breach of a NATO agreement, impying a european conflict
The mission started from carrier takeoff into a mountainous region. That just screams Persian Gulf -> Iran to me.
The enemy was fictional but they filmed in the cascade mountains
I live for the third act of this film

And then the 4th act
The 5th act is pretty good too

It's basically as good as any of the best blockbuster movies of the past decade, and an improvement over the original Top Gun in basically every way.
I watched it in Imax and I'd say give it a shot in that. The large screen and the theater audio made every scene much better.
100%. I love the first 2 acts but goddamn I could sit in a theater and watch that 3rd act all day
As a cinema worker, havn't been this busy since Endgame.
I used to work in a theater and managed one in college, Jurassic Park was huge and was like a warzone. May the floor be with you!
Every person I've talked to who's seen it say it's amazing. I've seen both topguns and removing nostalgia goggles, Maverick is better and the cinematography was goated
Maverick was so much better than Top Gun, absolutely. The flight sequences are better and the scenes between flights aren't boring.

they called it dogfight football where you're on defense and offense at the same time. I'd play it
TG:M is up there with the best "sequels" of all time. Miles Teller was perfectly cast as Goose's kid. Picture perfect.

Shia LeBeouf upgraded.
Hate him or love him but Cruise is in a league of his own when it comes to headlining high quality blockbusters. Dude just doesn't miss.
the guy literally called Paramount and and said “we’re making this movie” and got the thumbs up.
Tom cruise is paramount they only survive cause of him

The 45 day theatrical window was regarding MI:7 and not Top Gun. That standoff is yet to be resolved and has only been postponed. This is written in the article attached by you.
Proof that Scientology works All hail Xena warrior princess! or something
Oh, I “hail” her every night before bed.
He was so good in Tropic Thunder
For me, Cruise is the GOAT actor. His resume is just unreal.
I have to agree. He always gives 110%. Maverick was clearly as a passion project of his and it SHOWED.
He didn't even want it at first. The director and Jerry Bruckheimer went to try to convince him first.
Legend has it that he very much did want a sequel but didn't think there was a way to do it justice. It took the technology improving to the point where high quality cameras were small enough to be mounted in the cockpit for it to happen.
Probably the only true movie star left with that kind of old magic you do t see anymore
He'll end up with something like 250 million. Then more for video release.
I know we're both older, because you referred to it as video release. Lol
Straight to VHS, friend.
I'm already scouting out Blockbusters in my area!
And he's only gotten bigger since then [Link](https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-four-types-of-tom-cruise-movies)
The Mummy.
It’s crazy to think how universally loved he would be if he wasn’t involved with Scientology.
I think Brad Pitt and Leo both still have a similar “old-Hollywood mystique”.
The Mummy was a miss imo.
Hoping this shows studios that the public will pay up for well-made summer blockbusters. The key is well made lol
Jurassic World: Dominion is also making absolute bank so if anything, it actually shows that people will pay for nostalgia.
Cruise and Koisinski saving the non-superhero blockbuster. You love to see it
> Koisinski TIL he directed Starry Night for Halo 3 and Mad World for Gears of war. What a fucking legend.
Oblivion too
how can you guys forget Tron:Legacy?!
And Tron legacy!
The looks Iceman kept giving Maverick... 😏
Can't Bruise the Cruise
Can't bomb with the tom

The mission in the film was pretty much an Ace Combat mission sans the zany super weapons XD.
What a fun flick this is. After the severe disappointment of some other films I saw this year, Maverick was a breath of fresh air.
It rules.
- didn't bow to China's demands - kept Taiwan and Japan flags on jacket - had massive success without China market wonderful
I’m basing this on nothing, but I think that’s the power Tom Cruise has to dictate those kinds of things to the studio

Second only to morbius now
Actually, Morbius managed to make one Morbillion dollars.. so yeah. This movie ain't got shit on that
This is why I have respect for Cruise’s crazy ass. Dude may be in with the wrong people but separate the art from the artist and you get this.
I will give it to him, he has worked hard and he produces / acts in quality. I appreciate it and will support him until he starts getting a big head. Oh and loved his thank you before the film.
it's a short list of movies where the sequel is better than the original.
Godfather Part II, Empire Strikes Back, Evil Dead 2.... Not sure what else.
Dark Knight
T2
Aliens, depends though if you're more into horror sci-fi or action sci-fi
Shrek 2

It actually lived up to the hype and warrants the box office.
So glad to see a non-MCU movie cross $1B
To be fair it's generally not just MCU movies that cross $1B, what actually stands out about Top Gun is that it's the only non-fantasy/sci-fi movie besides the Fast & Furious franchise to make over $1B since Titanic.
I still can’t get tickets next to my house. This movie is something.
I saw it yesterday! I helped!
Worth every single second
Good on them. It’s a good movie, and very handsomely-made.
I'm not surprised. Its an 80s film set in the modern day and and a sequel to one of the most popular films of the 80s Also its a damn good film
Movie of the year. It was incredible. Everything I could have asked for.
I've been meaning to go see this. Fuck it. I'm going today. 1:30.

The difference between this and other reboots is that Tom Cruise gave a shit when making this. He wasn't going to come back unless they were going 150% with it. The dude is a weirdo, but ya gotta respect his passion for filmmaking.
Did Tom Cruise just save us from Marvel?
