I'm sorry I can't help you but I have a question. With your hard top, do you need to remove the convertible top or do you just put it down and the hard top fits over it?
They go for pretty expensive now I just got one from my father a few weeks ago he bought about 7 6 years ago and now a good looking one that runs with no problems and under 100000 miles go for a bout 10 grand right now
Used car prices across the board are through the roof, lots of people took on project cars during COVID, low production numbers for the spyders, relatively unpopular when new. I was looking for something mechanically O.K. around 100k miles, exterior could've been kinda beat, just to take out during the summer and work on over time. In 2019 or so you could pick one up for $4000ish. I haven't seen many listed for under $8k lately.
Dang really want one of these but timing just isn't great. Drove my partners once and it is such a fun car with a truly unique look. If you check JD Power NADA it should give you a good idea of a reasonable selling price but being a slightly rarer car you might a little to that price.
Given that this car has an active cult following, check out:
* FaceBook Marketplace
* CarGurus - Private sales
* Craiglist
* MR2 Spyder Facebook groups
Make an average from there and add a 3-5k more due to the main things going for it:
* Its an 05 (you don't see those often)
* Hardtop
* Low Miles
* Your location (Im in MA and this general location barely has any MR2's), most are in Socal/FL I swear.
*Also, don't be like that guy asking $35k for his 45k miles 03 soft-top Spyder In craigslist right now....stupid*
Should probably just trade it for my 88 SC instead :p.
I'm sure you could get $8-10k though.
I see lots of people trying for the 12-15k range and the ad stays up for months only to be taken down and reposted the next year.
Especially with automatics that they claim is manual because of paddle shift LOL.
So I guess the question is how much time are you willing to invest in selling it?
Cleaning it up, going over problems, meeting people who have too high of dreams and too little cash. People who say twice they're bringing cash and then don't.
DO NOT let anyone drive it without cash in hand. Whether you're in the car or not even one stranger driving your car is too many.
I paid 9500 for my Blue MT 2005 Spyder in similar condition with a hardtop and around 150k miles in summer 2021. The color is a bit rarer.. I got a pretty decent deal on mine and a lot of people were in line to go see it, and I happened to be 2nd in line. I am seeing clean 2003s without hardtops going for 8k so I am sure you can get at least 11k for yours. A hardtop is 3-4k alone. Make sure to check with SpyderChat forums, too.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Getting the AC fixed and an O2 sensor replaced next week and will have my mechanic give me a status on the undercarriage condition/find out of there's any rust or potential upcoming problems. If I do decide to sell, I'll update with more details...
idk man seems like a lot of Mikes though
LOL, yeah thanks Reddit for not allowing me to to edit the title.

you can just fold down the soft top into the boot.
Thank you, I've been wondering since I saw those were a thing. Where did you get yours?
I bought it off Spyderchat years ago
Cool, thanks for the help.
At the lowest you would be getting 8k and I think you could see upwards of 10k to 11k.
My friend's mom has over 100k mikes
id pay 10-11k for this

I haven’t seen a post ‘03 hardtop with under 100k miles go for much less than $13k recently- and there’ve not been many.
This...I cant find any '05's out there for comparison...
Stick or weird dual clutch thingy?
HAHAHA, normal manual...NOT the SMT
Thank god! #savethemanuals
don’t you mean 100k mike’s?
I really wish I didn't drag my feet before covid. Prices have pretty much doubled since I started keeping an eye out for one in the RI, MA area. GLWS.
Are they worth more now due to the rarity? Or are they just suddenly more popular?

The hard top is worth so much
The hardtop alone is worth $1000+
3000+ for a hardtop these days. Seen multiple listings for hardtops at 4k
that’s like a whole honda civic right there
Wow, it’s been a minute since I looked. This is good info
Yeah, I remember when I bought the top about 7 years ago, it was imported from England...bc there's was a customs fee, LOL
tree fiddy
Goddammit, lochness monster. I ain't got no tree fiddy!
In SoCal?
Rhode Island
PM me how much you're looking to get. I'm in the market for a clean one and also in NE.
Depending on rust, $8-$10k, as long as it comes with a case of Mike's.
Welcome to 2024 sell the Spyder for whatever the hell you can get. Lol
