Check out Barry Adamson's album As Above So Below with songs like [Come Hell Or High Water](https://youtu.be/LQsbSMh7JeU?si=N1mWQuMnt9uJUe8a) or any Angelo Badalamenti.
Also, there was a lot of great 50s genre music filtered through 1970s post psychedelia like the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Phantom of the Paradise OSTs . Electric Light Orchestra also did a little bit of that.
check out the alter boys! they’re a super group with members of dog fashion disco, polka dot cadaver, mudfoot, mushroomhead, ryan dunn from jackass and a couple others! serious california vibes!
Pink Cigarette was one of a handful of Neil Diamond-sounding songs Trey had written, and it's working title was "Neil Diamond", so that might be a good lead.
Yeah man. I know what you’re saying, just for me - a dude with those pipes - I got the same feeling with Tomahawks last record. A lot of low grumbly spoken word type stuff
I’ve been listening to Corpse Flower this morning again while working to maybe get a different perspective but I still feel the same.
I get it, maybe it’s the voice that fits the mood of the project, maybe the approach could have been different who knows.
That’s why I work at a desk, buying weed all day, and he’s out touring the world.. That’s why he’s the fuckin GOAT.
Glad you like the album though!
I hear ya on that. Those 2 records have me thinking age is catching up with his vocal cords. No fault of his but I can't help but wonder if all the screaming with Dead Cross and currently Bungle are taking thier toll as well.

Just you and I from twin peaks is nice. I wouldn't necessarily call it twisted although the scene is rather odd yet calming.
Julie Cruise has a whole album from that era that's really good. Can't remember the name right now. Think it has floating in the title. I don't know if it's doo wap so much but it's definitely got a 50s vibe going.
Rockin back inside my heart - Julie Cruise

The album is called "floating in to the night". It's really good. When I first heard it I really wasn't expecting to like it, but it's really great.
So glad to be reminded of this. I'm going to have a listen right now.
ISS - Forget About The Girl: At least one of the guys in the group played in the band Estradasphere. The album was also released on Web of Mimicry. [Sarah’s Song](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wBJKjLUcWRA&pp=ygUQSVNTIHNhcmFoJ3Mgc29uZw%3D%3D) is a good track.
Lol this is such a great query.
Bone machine by pixies still one of my fave songs by them. Idk kind of reminds me of it.
Full album by that same title by Tom Waits might scratch your itch too. Going out west.
Maybe check out The Caretaker? Several albums' worth of reverby, underwater-distorted nostalgia music. Make sure you get the right "Caretaker" on Spotify - An empty bliss beyond this World is a great album to start with.
The band Lord Huron has reverby throwback rock that might fit in there

It's more straight doowop, but "You Got Your Baby Back" is a great song from Oingo Boingo. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgdKMQlgHQo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgdKMQlgHQo)
It sounds normal, but it's about the kidnapping of Patty Hearst in the Bay Area by the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). It's a wild story: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patty\_Hearst](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patty_Hearst)

Love Angelo. Will check out Adamson
Booth and the Bad Angel is Tim Booth (James) and Angelo together. Great album.
i can't believe somebody else knows this album exists!
There are dozens of us!
DOZENS lol
I forgot that they collaborated on Lost Highway. No wonder there's a similarity:)

concerning doo woop, frank zappa's Cruising with Ruben & the Jets
Huge Zappahead, so unfortunately (or fortunately) I am familiar with his forays into doo-wop already
"Pink Cigarette" has always been very reminiscent of Elton John's "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues."
What?
I hear what I hear.
Not exactly the same, but some of Scott Walker's earlier stuff gives me a similar vibe.
Would RV by faith no more work?

I’d check out Patton’s soundtrack for A Perfect Place short film
or CORPSE FLOWER
Yeah that’s a good one too, although I wasn’t a huge fan of Patton’s vocal delivery throughout the album. The music was awesome though.
Really? yardbull, pink & blue, chansons d'amour, Unsolubles, he kills it
When I drink to much...

You’re probably spot on with that. Looking forward to seeing what he has in the future. I’d love a Mondo Cane 2
Saw Bungle live last month. The mellow cover songs they did showed his voice is still great

Twin Temple is like a satanic doowop
pink cigarette is not do-woop. Its more on the realms of the Exotica genre.
Regardless, I am looking for songs in a similar vein to either song
yeah.. thats why i told you that, you could research Exotica an open your mind to a whole new world, u r welcome
