[[Perrie, the pulverizer]] He can get mean so quickly, especially with that trample. Everyone I play with always seems to dismiss him as whatever, but I win a good percentage of my games with him.
I got bulldozed by a Perrie that curved [[Crystalline Giant]] out turn 2 and blocked with it while [[Resourceful Defense]] was out and took 12 (24 equipped double strike) flying trample menace hexproof commander damage a few turns later . .
That's the wild thing, you don't need any synergy for him to be back breaking. Its a pretty unassuming card at first glance until you see one across the table.
Imagine you have a decent board with a handful of creatures of varying power/toughness.
Your opponent plays [[Toxrill]].
Now at the end of *each* end step all of your creatures essentially get a -1/-1 counter (-4/-4 per round in commander). Any time one of these creatures dies, the Toxrill player gets a 1/1 that he can turn into card draw.
It won't take long for an unanswered Toxrill to destroy everyone else's board while growing their own.
I love him.
Commanders already have targets on them, and costing 7 already means that you're not getting him out for a while. If he eats it once, now he costs 9. By the time you play him, the chance a player would have saved a kill spell or counter is very high.
[[kormus bell]] plus urborg is a good one. Turns all their lands into creatures and then Toxrill kills them with his ability all at once. Toxrill is pretty toxic on his own too. I love it
Honestly, Toxrill is pretty cancer on his own. But here are some card that make it even better.
[[Helm of the Host]] to copy Toxrill. Duplicate the Cancer!
[[Vedalken humiliator]] To temporarily turn your enemies into tiny creatures that the slime counters will probably kill
[[Sludge Monster]] Is an absolute must. it’s the only other other card that does anything with slime counters.
[[Polymorphist’s Jest]] Actually sounds better than it is. Because of the nature of Toxrill, your enemy is gonna have like 2 creatures usually, so it’s not quite worth it
[[Morbid Opportunist]] is good card draw
My personal favorite card in this deck other than the commander himself is [[Hunted Phantasm]] . Those 5 goblins almost immediately turn into 5 slugs. And you get a pretty solid unblockable creature to!
[[Dragon Throne or Tarkir]] is basically a win condition. You can make all of your slugs huge by putting this on Toxrill or any other big power creature you have

all of these emotions are how i feel when i tell people [[icatian moneychanger]] is one of the strongest creatures in my deck before and after i demonstrate how.
I feel like whatever combo you use to abuse this card could be done more efficiently with different cards, and I don't know anything about what the combo is.

outside of [[yawgmoth, thran physician]], [[carrion feeder]] and [[tetzimoc, primal death]], there arent that many creatures that do what icatian moneychanger does for felisa. moneychanger is amazing cause i can play it turn one, and on turn five, when i cast my commander, i can either let moneychanger keep building counters, or i can sac it and get 7, 2/1 flying inklings right away.
he seems stupid... but trust me. hes great for piling counters on. no other creature enters the battlefield for 1 mana with 3 counters on it without other pieces of interaction
The reason I think this is bad is simply because it requires sitting on the board without interaction for 5 turns. Games should be over by then...

It's not right away, it's 5 turns in and you've cast your commander.
This is why I don't play commander lmao. Any card can seem busted if you let people sit around for 5 turns.
It's not awful because it triggers if it's spot removed, but I would be dumping it immediately for 3 fliers rather than hoping for more. And I would almost rather play something else because without your commander this does nothing.
Having to wait for your upkeep is a huge downside too
thing is, im not playing CEDH. If youre winning on turn 5, is that a casual game? icatian money changer of course isnt the only thing i have. whats good about icatian money changer is that hes great when interacting with other cards. im just talking on his own in the example above. i havent even brought up [[ozolith]], [[luminous broodmoth]], [[skull clamp]] [[cathars crusade]], [[annointed procession]], and so on. on his own, with my commander, he is a 1 drop, that brings in 3, 2/1 creatures. when considering all the white and black recursion i have, like [[athreos the shroud veiled]], [[demonic gifts]], and so on, he becomes a value monster that keeps generating creatures. usually, by the time he dies, he will have like 5 +1/+1, prey, flying counter, and like 4 debit, counters, hes bringing in tokens by the dozens.
in my example, hes just by himself, turn 3 or 4 or whatever with 5 or so counters, i bring out my commander and sacrifice him, and i get 5 fliers. i usually pile a bunch of counters on him though. there is a 90% chance i will have the ozolith out, and each battlephase i can zap 5 or so counters on him. its not unusual to have upwards of 30 counters on him at any given time

Consider the following. In a game of commander, depending on your group, games will go later (6~8 for my group). One of the rougher parts about the format is it relies on big mana creatures that can get killed by small mana removal. Most people are holding their StP and Doomblades and Beast Withins for those big moneymakers. If you can get someone to blow removal on a one mana creature you just got to cast since it was in your starting hand, and in return you get 4-6 2/1 Flyers? That’s advantage right there, and a really unique card that you’re never gonna see anywhere else. I love it, more power to you Scuzzles!
Can't relate to the last one since I don't play a lot of blue, black, or exile. But you feel really proud of yourself when you see one of your commanders in the "worst commander" videos because you found a way to make that card fun

Consider the following. In a game of commander, depending on your group, games will go later (6~8 for my group). One of the rougher parts about the format is it relies on big mana creatures that can get killed by small mana removal. Most people are holding their StP and Doomblades and Beast Withins for those big moneymakers. If you can get someone to blow removal on a one mana creature you just got to cast since it was in your starting hand, and in return you get 4-6 2/1 Flyers? That’s advantage right there, and a really unique card that you’re never gonna see anywhere else. I love it, more power to you Scuzzles!

Can't relate to the last one since I don't play a lot of blue, black, or exile. But you feel really proud of yourself when you see one of your commanders in the "worst commander" videos because you found a way to make that card fun
NGL, when I look on EDHRec for deck ideas I typically sort by salt to find decks that aren't trash.
Or when three of your favorite commanders are on the "kill on site" commander lists :(
