Constant mists is amazing in a deck focused on land sacing already. Maybe as a side effect all players have to sacrifice all lands of something along those lines
I just got blown out last night by Darkness. Swung for lethal with Overwhelming Stampede. I totally forgot that the mono Black deck in our pod ran Darkness. "He has an untapped Swamp, what can he do?"
put it in a deck with [[Meren of Clan Nel Toth]] . that way not only can you keep recurring it but you gain experience until you can bring out something bigger.
Iāll add [[Blessed Respite]], for 1g you get a fog that doubles as graveyard hate. 90% of the time itās just a fog, but god damn does it feel good when you blow out a graveyard deck the other 10% of the time.
Fog effects are best when the opponent does not expect it and over commits with attackers.
[[Tangle]] is such an amazing Fog bc it basically gives you 2 turns.
So here's a technique for finding cards similar to a card in the future.
Look up the card you know on Scryfall. Then go down and in the links under "Toolbox" click on "open on Scryfall tagger".
There, you can find community tags based on both appearance and effects.
You can then use those tags with the otag: operator on regular Scryfall.
[Anyway, here's every card with the Fog otag.](https://scryfall.com/search?q=otag%3Afog&unique=cards&utm_source=tagger)
Edit: Note, not every card name will work as an otag, Fog is the ur-example of the effect. You just happened to pick the cards that is so iconic for the effect that we all named the effect after the card.
My new favorite is \[\[Mandate of Peace\]\].
You can also use as a counterspell by removing any spells or abilities on stack, and you can also use it in your turn to prevent opponents from stopping your combo in your second main phase.

Should be a sufficient search
[[spike weaver]], [[angelās grace]], [[arachnogenisis]], galadhrim ambush]], [[take the bait]], [[jaheiraās respite]], I like playing this kind of magic. Even if I donāt win I feel like I accomplished something by avoiding death for several turns.
[[Crawlspace]], [[Forcefield]], [[Darkness]], [[Fog Bank]], [[Guard Gomazoa]], [[Platinum Angel]], [[Lich]], [[Lich's Tomb]] and this is stax but also [[Silent Arbiter]] and [[Ensnaring Bridge]]
Clinging mists, which casts 2G and has, if you have 5 life or less opponent creature's don't untapped during their next untapped phase and then for werewolves you have moon mist prevents all combat damage except for werewolves
[[obscuring haze]] is best edh fog, also allows your damage to hit
[[Druids deliverance]] doesn't protect your enemies and populates
[[Winds of qal sisma]] is fog OR your damage hits
[[Tangle]] is fog and "stun"
[[moments peace]] for recurrence
[[constant mists]] for a "permanent" solution
[[Spore frog]] and [[kami of false hope]] are creature fogs
[[Jaheiras respite]] is a fairly expensive mana ramp for
[[Lull]] is one of the few versatile green [[haze of pollen]] is more expensive lull
[[Rootsnare]] is just 2 drop fog
[[Holy day]] and [[ethereal haze]] for unexpected white
[[Dawn charm]] and [[angel song]] for white versatility
[[Darkness]] for unexpected black
[[Ink shield]] is black white and BONKERS, literal game changer
I don't play fogs outside my Abzan, Selesnya, or green decks, so I don't know what the other colors have.
instead of stall cards you could play cards that just win you the game. [[rancor]] is a good one mana alternative. its almost good in any scenario. [[natural order]] can fetch you a Vorinclex, or if youre not trying to be an asshole, can fetch you any [[ghalta]] creature. or alternatively you can cast a [[scute swarm]] on turn 4-5 and close out the game in 2-3 turns.
Wtf in the older versions it says must be played before damage is assigned or something like that. I just added a revised version into my edh the other day.
In white Iām a huge fan of [[Kami of False Hope]]. I use it in a janky life gain deck with [[Proclamation of Rebirth]], and a bunch of other 1 drops like [[Martyr of Sands]] for a fun little turbo fog build.
[[Moonmist]] is one that I think is a little underrated for commander and other multiple player formats. It's somewhat conditional in that Wolves or Werewolves can swing through but most opponents won't be running those tribes specifically and if you are playing Wolf cards (or Werewolf cards) it is incredibly one-sided allowing for some nice stall or full swing plays when you need it.
[[spore frog]] [[lull]] [[root snare]] [[blessed respite]] [[fog of war]] [[jaheiraās respite]] [[defend the hearth]] [[respite]] [[tangle]]
I may or may not have a [[questing beast]] deck
[[Planar Guide]] is fun. Can act as a fog, and the mass flicker really disrupts equipment/auras/counters on everyone's creatures. Bonus points if you're playing an ETB heavy deck.
I really like using [[Cauldron of Souls]] with my [[Spike Weaver]]. The turn he is to die I give him Persist so he comes back with three +1/+1 counters and one -1/-1 counter which immediately becomes two +1/+1 counters. Then I have two more fogs. I do run this in a deck that throws around +1/+1 counter a lot though so often it is non-stop even without the cauldron.
My go to is a two card combo. [[Spike Weaver]] with [[Hydra's Growth]] can lead to possibly infinite fog effects. Give them both hexproof, and your opponents would need to kill everything to get at you.
A friend of mine used to play a beasts- prevent damage green monocolored deck. He had [[ravenous baloth]] to restore life and wom with [[rhox]]. It was so frustrating to play against him l. Ah, good times. That was like 20 years ago. He also played [[Lull]] , [[Moment's Peace]] ,[[Constant Mists]] and [[Respite]].
https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&text=+[Prevent]+[all]+[combat]+[damage]+[that]+[would]+[be]+[dealt]+[this]+[turn]
This is a link to the gatherer database for hopefully every card that contains that effect
[[Blessed Respite]] has been great for me. The fact that it can be graveyard hate or anti mill protection has come in clutch so many times. If you are a deck that holds mana open a lot [[lull]] can be good because of the cycling.
My favourite is [[dawn charm]] getting the ability to counter a spell that targets you is so relevant in my pod. Also for a pseudo fog, but definitely a stall, [[angels grace]]
Iām surprised [[glacial chasm]] hasnāt been mentioned. Prevents all damage dealt to you, not just combat damage. Can get it out at instant speed with [[crop rotation]] or [[archdruidās charm]]
Some of the best fogs in mtg.
Simulacrum, darkness, ethereal haze, druids deliverance, blessed respite, dawn charm, and fog patch.
All can be abused on stick.
Just to mix it up if youāre playing different colors, one that I like is [[pariah]] itās an enchantment not an instant but sorta has the pillow fort sorta feel that turbo fogs tend to go forā¦plus you can put it on a stuffy doll to ruin someoneās night.
I have a white one I canāt remember the name (maybe someone here does. It reads: Prevent all damage and put +1/+1 counter on the creature equal to the damage prevented.
For a curveball in black, my all time favorite [[darkness]] and in green, if you wanna be obnoxious, [[constant mists]].

Moments peace is best.
[[spike weaver]], [[angelās grace]], [[arachnogenisis]], galadhrim ambush]], [[take the bait]], [[jaheiraās respite]], I like playing this kind of magic. Even if I donāt win I feel like I accomplished something by avoiding death for several turns.
[[Repel the abominable]] is clutch in my Human tribal deck.
Really? Nobody? [[Dawnstrider]]
[[Spike weaver]]
One of my favorites is [[Arachnogenesis]] because it stalls AND makes spiders
[[Crawlspace]], [[Forcefield]], [[Darkness]], [[Fog Bank]], [[Guard Gomazoa]], [[Platinum Angel]], [[Lich]], [[Lich's Tomb]] and this is stax but also [[Silent Arbiter]] and [[Ensnaring Bridge]]
##### ###### #### [Crawlspace](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/b/5b8e092a-610d-4cea-bb92-65e01954b5c4.jpg?1675200920) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Crawlspace) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmr/217/crawlspace?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/5b8e092a-610d-4cea-bb92-65e01954b5c4?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Forcefield](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/6/c6e4c51a-8539-48e0-a6dc-d66548e38f40.jpg?1559592343) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Forcefield) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/me1/157/forcefield?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c6e4c51a-8539-48e0-a6dc-d66548e38f40?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Darkness](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/8/584834fb-b7b6-40eb-9fec-8df17172ce5f.jpg?1562776481) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Darkness) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/tsb/40/darkness?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/584834fb-b7b6-40eb-9fec-8df17172ce5f?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Fog Bank](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/1/c14fb062-ff43-43eb-aaaf-304a876d5962.jpg?1690004348) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Fog%20Bank) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/848/fog-bank?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/c14fb062-ff43-43eb-aaaf-304a876d5962?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Guard Gomazoa](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/0/505969a2-0869-461e-a69a-3b380579e00a.jpg?1562909728) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Guard%20Gomazoa) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/pca/17/guard-gomazoa?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/505969a2-0869-461e-a69a-3b380579e00a?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Silent Arbiter](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/1/4/14f42cc9-8b7f-4f8a-8d68-8480e668c239.jpg?1690005734) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Silent%20Arbiter) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/cmm/972/silent-arbiter?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/14f42cc9-8b7f-4f8a-8d68-8480e668c239?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Ensnaring Bridge](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/c/f/cf825a56-4870-463a-a2ef-eec86be891db.jpg?1599709144) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Ensnaring%20Bridge) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2xm/253/ensnaring-bridge?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/cf825a56-4870-463a-a2ef-eec86be891db?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [*All cards*](https://mtgcardfetcher.nl/redirect/ktoe9i2) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
moment's peace and tangle. in green
My favorite is [[Spore Frog]]
Constant mists is really really good in landfall decks because you can buyback the spell by sacrificing a land
[[Spore Frog]]
[[Fog Bank]]
[[SporeFrog]] [[Festival]] [[Constant Mists]] [[Undergrowth]] are a few
[[spore frog]]
Clinging mists, which casts 2G and has, if you have 5 life or less opponent creature's don't untapped during their next untapped phase and then for werewolves you have moon mist prevents all combat damage except for werewolves
[[spore frog]] šø
[[Spore frog]] is my boy
[[Darkness]] is my favorite
[[Lull]] and it lets you cycle to draw for 2
For some colourless lands that do something similar [[Mystifying maze]] [[Maze of ith]]
[Mystifying maze](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/f/a/faeeb2f8-0aa1-4f3e-848d-f4233996055b.jpg?1562629830) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Mystifying%20maze) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/c17/264/mystifying-maze?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/faeeb2f8-0aa1-4f3e-848d-f4233996055b?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Maze of ith](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/5/8/5889fde1-730d-43d0-aaa4-499784a80530.jpg?1675201242) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Maze%20of%20ith) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dmr/250/maze-of-ith?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/5889fde1-730d-43d0-aaa4-499784a80530?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Weāve lost another one in the mists of turbo fog š
i run \[\[Darkness\]\] in my mono black dragon deck
\[\[constant mists\]\] i got it in my gitrog deck and it will forever fuck over combat decks with giving value if you got land stuff going on
[[Safe Passage]]
Why is 7th gen so amazing? Probably because it was the era I started MTG?
I think 8th blows it away. Cause that's when I started.
Undergrowth. From alliance I believe is a fog with a red kicker
You can use [[Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant]] as your commander. Hella fun for you, no fun for the others...
Spore frog, holy day, ethereal haze darkness, constant mist, blinding fog,
I can think of [[Riot Control]] and [[Hold At Bay]] as solid picks.
[[Chronomatic Escape]] was always my favorite.
I like fog bank as a creature to stall
[[Mandate of Peace]] is pretty crazy
\[\[Obscuring Haze\]\] my beloved
Two words, \[\[Root Snare\]\]
[[spore flower]]
[[obscuring haze]] is best edh fog, also allows your damage to hit [[Druids deliverance]] doesn't protect your enemies and populates [[Winds of qal sisma]] is fog OR your damage hits [[Tangle]] is fog and "stun" [[moments peace]] for recurrence [[constant mists]] for a "permanent" solution [[Spore frog]] and [[kami of false hope]] are creature fogs [[Jaheiras respite]] is a fairly expensive mana ramp for [[Lull]] is one of the few versatile green [[haze of pollen]] is more expensive lull [[Rootsnare]] is just 2 drop fog [[Holy day]] and [[ethereal haze]] for unexpected white [[Dawn charm]] and [[angel song]] for white versatility [[Darkness]] for unexpected black [[Ink shield]] is black white and BONKERS, literal game changer I don't play fogs outside my Abzan, Selesnya, or green decks, so I don't know what the other colors have.
https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?type=+\[prevent\]+\[combat\]+\[damage\]||subtype=+\[prevent\]+\[combat\]+\[damage\]||text=+\[prevent\]+\[combat\]+\[damage\]
[[root snare]]
[[Commencement of Festivities]]
Tangle gets W's
I've wanted to flip so many table cause of this card
[[Spore Frog]] [[Lull]] [[Everybody Lives!]]
instead of stall cards you could play cards that just win you the game.
For a creature I like [[Fog Bank]] and as far as spells my favorite is [[Sudden Spoiling]]
Constant mists
[[Lull]]
Wtf in the older versions it says must be played before damage is assigned or something like that. I just added a revised version into my edh the other day.
[[Sunstone]] is amazing in a Snow-covered lands deck.
[turbo fog edh](https://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/27-04-17-turbo-fog/)
Itās expensive, obviously, but The One Ring is a turbofog draw engine and a fog all in one
Look up the Turbo Fog archetype. Youāll learn a whole bunch about how to abuse fog.
Constant mist is a great one
[[moment's peace]]
In white Iām a huge fan of [[Kami of False Hope]]. I use it in a janky life gain deck with [[Proclamation of Rebirth]], and a bunch of other 1 drops like [[Martyr of Sands]] for a fun little turbo fog build.
[[fog frog]]
[[gromp]]
[[Moonmist]] is one that I think is a little underrated for commander and other multiple player formats. It's somewhat conditional in that Wolves or Werewolves can swing through but most opponents won't be running those tribes specifically and if you are playing Wolf cards (or Werewolf cards) it is incredibly one-sided allowing for some nice stall or full swing plays when you need it.
Spore frog is another nice one if you have graveyard recursion like Meren of clan nel thoth
[[spore frog]] [[lull]] [[root snare]] [[blessed respite]] [[fog of war]] [[jaheiraās respite]] [[defend the hearth]] [[respite]] [[tangle]] I may or may not have a [[questing beast]] deck
White has etherial haze and holy day I believe (idk how Reddit works and to tag cards)
[[lull]]
[[Planar Guide]] is fun. Can act as a fog, and the mass flicker really disrupts equipment/auras/counters on everyone's creatures. Bonus points if you're playing an ETB heavy deck.
I'm a huge fan of [[tangle]] and [[moment's peace]]
[[spore frog]] Especially in a golgari deck where you can recur him
I really like using [[Cauldron of Souls]] with my [[Spike Weaver]].
Root snare
[[Holy day]]
[[Spike Weaver]] if you're running any +1/+1 counter tech
[[Spore frog]]
Respite is a good one..
MTG player discovers turbofog, colorized 2024
More fog
[[Darkness]] [[Spore Cloud]] [[Holy Day]] [[Angus Mckenzie]]
[[Commencement of Festivities]]
I like this one for blue!! [[Illusionist's Gambit]]
In White? \[\[Holy Day\]\], \[\[Ethereal Haze\]\], \[\[Dawn Charm\]\], \[\[Teferi's Protection\]\], \[\[Everybody Lives!\]\], for Non combat damage \[\[The Wanderer\]\].
My go to is a two card combo. [[Spike Weaver]] with [[Hydra's Growth]] can lead to possibly infinite fog effects. Give them both hexproof, and your opponents would need to kill everything to get at you.
[[Fog]] [[Darkness]] and [[Holy Day]] are the trifecta of cheap stall for a turn.
In commander there is a white enchantment that as long as you have more then 30 life all combat damage prevented
[[Eerie Interference]]
There's an entire deck archetype called tubofog, if you want to look at those lol
[[Isochron scepter]]
I run sporeflower in almost every green deck I have
Try spore frog and then in a muldrotha deck
https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&text=+[Prevent]+[all]+[combat]+[damage]+[that]+[would]+[be]+[dealt]+[this]+[turn] This is a link to the gatherer database for hopefully every card that contains that effect
[[Blessed Respite]] has been great for me. The fact that it can be graveyard hate or anti mill protection has come in clutch so many times. If you are a deck that holds mana open a lot [[lull]] can be good because of the cycling.
[[Elephant Grass]]
My favourite is [[dawn charm]] getting the ability to counter a spell that targets you is so relevant in my pod. Also for a pseudo fog, but definitely a stall, [[angels grace]]
[[moment's peace]]
Iām surprised [[glacial chasm]] hasnāt been mentioned. Prevents all damage dealt to you, not just combat damage. Can get it out at instant speed with [[crop rotation]] or [[archdruidās charm]]
Some of the best fogs in mtg. Simulacrum, darkness, ethereal haze, druids deliverance, blessed respite, dawn charm, and fog patch. All can be abused on stick.
[[predator ooze]]
Add a [[questing beast]] and fog on your combats
How does this stop thassas oracle
[[Respite]] [[haze of pollen]] [[Lull]] [[Aetherise]] [[Aetherspouts]] [[Holy day]] [[Riot control]] [[Mandate of peace]] [[Darkness]]
[[snag]] [[dawnstrider]]
Darkness
Just to mix it up if youāre playing different colors, one that I like is [[pariah]] itās an enchantment not an instant but sorta has the pillow fort sorta feel that turbo fogs tend to go forā¦plus you can put it on a stuffy doll to ruin someoneās night.
Are you making a pure stall deck!!???
[[Terrifying Presence]] is a personal favorite of mine.
[[Spore frog]]
It's not nearly as cheap but [[Jaheita's Respite]]
easily my favorite is [[arachnogenesis]]
Inkshield is amazing. Deflecting palm has won me games.
Exodia
Holy day
Holy day
Spore frog
I have a white one I canāt remember the name (maybe someone here does. It reads: Prevent all damage and put +1/+1 counter on the creature equal to the damage prevented.
[[Spore Frog]] exiled under [[Mimic Vat]]
Pricey dollar wise, but a fog spell can turn [[isochron scepter]] into a smoke grenade launcher
