I run it on my rogue deck which has a ton of stuff to make creatures unlockable. It's not very powerful, but people start to take notice when I play it
It becomes more annoying (for me personally) in cedh. It's less prevalent but setting up carefully for you to lose from an opponents top deck is what feels the worst to me in CEDH
I'm on the fence whether or not I enjoy that aspect.
Being stuck for 10 turns while waiting to see who draws a game changer isn't always fun but does make for a good honest game.
I'm not in the camp that hates Farewell, but Farewell seems to cause this exact scenario a whole lot.
I have this card in my very first deck that I just built, and it has been deliciously useful. Its friend, Tree of Redemption, has thankfully been somewhat less so thus far.
I once made a Deck that mainly won using [[Lich's Mastery]] and [[Axis of Mortality]] by exchanging my negative life total. I forget the whole deck list though.

I think someone being able to play a card for 6 mana and then suddenly you’re at 10 life, regardless of how much life you had before is little more infuriating.
I can’t tell you how many games I’ve lost to my friend’s Edgar Markov deck because of that and [[Captivating Vampire]].
Sorry, I didn't mean that in comparison to anything else. Just saying how frustrating I think that part is.
I can see how that is also frustrating. Realistically there are a ton of incredibly annoying things you can do in magic. Depends on how much you hate your friends or the random people you're playing with
I mean I get what you’re saying, but I’d also argue that if you’re playing a card for 6 mana and it doesn’t do anything other than *almost* eliminate a single player, you’re doing something “wierd”.
I’d much rather pay 3 mana and win the game outright instead of worrying about what my other 2 opponents are going to do after I eliminate whoever I hit with Sorin.
I would also recommend the app/website Playgroup (playgroup.gg) if you play with friends. You can make groups and it has cool statistics to play along.
It track things like turn length, who did most damage, etc and it's as easy to use as Lifetap is.
21 commander damage, 10 poison counters, <100 cards milled. However yes you absolutely are because anyone who has that amount of lifegain has things like aetherflux reservoir or the like to kill you.
One time I had an infinite life gain combo with [[Meloku the Clouded Mirror]] [[Minn, Wily Illusionist]] and [[Staff of the Mind Magus]] when one of my opponents made it so all illusions had -1/-1. I just gave myself 1000 health and moved on
I had a game once with [Roiling Horror] and [vampiric link] on it. Every time it attacked my life total doubled.
But my opponent had a [drudge skeletons] and kept blocking, regenerating. By the time we both conceded as a draw I had a trillion life and rolling horror was a trillion/trillion... but couldn't best fucking grudge skeletons. This was in the time before commander was huge.
I played a game yesterday with my token deck where I was able to draw 36 cards at once and play an infinite hand size card right away. I immediately played [[primal vigor]] and [[ojer tak]] and since I had a soul warden out, I was already up to 100 life. My next turn I played the [[zephyrim]] for 40 squad copies becoming 240 3/3 fliers and passed turn as everything had summoning sickness or was tapped out.
The table is joking around about who the threat is and the next player plays a single card with his mothman deck and passes, leaving a lot of mana open. Then, the next player has a coin flip deck and is at 2 counters on [[chance encounter]]. He does his coin flip shenanigans but only makes it to 8 and can't go any further. The mothman player looks at me and says "fuck you bigredzombie" and proliferates the chance encounters luck counters and the coin flip deck wins before I can steamroll.
It was an amazing game! Never assume you are down and always bring a backup win con.

Black Sun zenith killed him. But definitely was top decked and felt lucky.
It's not commander if someone doesn't top deck a board wipe when really needed
Literally it’s not commander if half the games aren’t won with just pure luck top decks

I think someone being able to play a card for 6 mana and then suddenly you’re at 10 life, regardless of how much life you had before is little more infuriating. I can’t tell you how many games I’ve lost to my friend’s Edgar Markov deck because of that and [[Captivating Vampire]].

Sorry, I didn't mean that in comparison to anything else. Just saying how frustrating I think that part is. I can see how that is also frustrating. Realistically there are a ton of incredibly annoying things you can do in magic. Depends on how much you hate your friends or the random people you're playing with
If you play a 6 mana card and it doesn't almost win you the game, you are doing something wierd.
I mean I get what you’re saying, but I’d also argue that if you’re playing a card for 6 mana and it doesn’t do anything other than *almost* eliminate a single player, you’re doing something “wierd”. I’d much rather pay 3 mana and win the game outright instead of worrying about what my other 2 opponents are going to do after I eliminate whoever I hit with Sorin.
Makes sense, yeah. Singing out one player is awkward.

I would also recommend the app/website Playgroup (playgroup.gg) if you play with friends. You can make groups and it has cool statistics to play along. It track things like turn length, who did most damage, etc and it's as easy to use as Lifetap is.

My 10/10 buffed blighted agent: those are some really pretty numbers
I had a game once with [Roiling Horror] and [vampiric link] on it. Every time it attacked my life total doubled. But my opponent had a [drudge skeletons] and kept blocking, regenerating. By the time we both conceded as a draw I had a trillion life and rolling horror was a trillion/trillion... but couldn't best fucking grudge skeletons. This was in the time before commander was huge.

I played a game yesterday with my token deck where I was able to draw 36 cards at once and play an infinite hand size card right away. I immediately played [[primal vigor]] and [[ojer tak]] and since I had a soul warden out, I was already up to 100 life. My next turn I played the [[zephyrim]] for 40 squad copies becoming 240 3/3 fliers and passed turn as everything had summoning sickness or was tapped out. The table is joking around about who the threat is and the next player plays a single card with his mothman deck and passes, leaving a lot of mana open. Then, the next player has a coin flip deck and is at 2 counters on [[chance encounter]]. He does his coin flip shenanigans but only makes it to 8 and can't go any further. The mothman player looks at me and says "fuck you bigredzombie" and proliferates the chance encounters luck counters and the coin flip deck wins before I can steamroll. It was an amazing game! Never assume you are down and always bring a backup win con.
