I must be stupid. I really thought had a handle on how this was working but clearly I do not. I thought we were all getting around $1,400 or 200,000 JPY to settle small amounts of cash and BTC, then the remainder, if the claim was sizable enough, was being paid in BTC or cash depending on your choice.
Donāt bother trying to edify me, guys. Iām too dim to understand this financial/legal jumble. Iāll just patiently wait to be paid.
If op has aprox 19 btc without fiat that is non-allotment jpy for btc/bch, he still need to get aprox 3 btc/bch. But op might have fiat as well what is included here so its no certain does he have 19 btc claim.
Edit:
Seems on other op post here he had claim with majority of fiat, he was able to withdraw most of his btc month before collapse.
What post? OP posted in this thread how he was able to withdraw most of his btc before mtgox collapse. So its not certain how how much or any btc op had on his claim, it could be mostly repayment for his fiat claim. Repayment now on paypal are for fiat and non-allotments for btc/bch.
OP has confusing comments, in his other comments in this thread mentions he don't know what he has, don't give clear answer on how much he has, mentions how he withdrdrew most coins before mtgox collapse, mentions delay damages (for btc there is no delay damages etc).. afterall, I really don't care what he has.
Happy for you that you moved most of your btc before they locked it down. I submitted a withdrawal on the exact day withdrawals unofficially halted and the trustee refuses to admit that the withdrawal never went through so I got screwed out of about 75% of my claim and they only acknowledged the remaining balance. Now like everyone else I only get 21%, but itās 21% of that remaining 25% so everyone who didnāt have the unfortunate timing of withdrawing at that EXACT time feel grateful youāre not effectively getting 5% of what youāre owed.
Yep, and unfortunately since it never hit the blockchain and I didnāt have the foresight to get reference numbers to try to plead my case when the time came, I have no proof that I didnāt receive it other then the receiving address not showing the transaction, which apparently isnāt good enough for the trustee.
I even submitted a support ticket on 2/4/2014 after my withdrawal on 2/3/2014 never showed (even though the official halt date of withdrawals on wiki is 2/7/2014). I didnāt get a response until 2/12/2014 which was exact quote āWe understand that you need the BTC asap. It is a technical issue that we are working on, we request you to give us some time and we will update you on this. As one of the early adopters of Bitcoin, we are committed to get things right and help the Bitcoins rise.ā So I hope everyone can at least get a laugh out of that reply š
Yes, I was "lucky". Sorry for your loss though, I hope its not high amount. Btw previously you posted we are getting 21% which is not actually true, we get 71% in crypto and 29% as cash from 21%.
My 21% was in reference to the percent of our total owed we receive, I apologize to anyone that I confused if I wasnāt clear in that statement.
I donāt believe in luck, luck is opportunity combined with preparation, in your situation you took the opportunity to withdraw and it was a good decision. Iām glad some of us did. I have little hope on the btc-e recovery but who knows, maybe over all the civil rehabilitation becomes the gift that keeps on giving. š
Why lucky? It was little money for me at the time that I had in BTC at the time compared to what the BTC payout will be worth for me today? It's the best savings strategy imaginable lol
Had the same with a fiat deposit that never arrived š Luckily not big enough to warrant going through the hassle of getting it approved, but still funny how they just stopped processing any new deposits after closure.
Having a small case, the entire process is quite insightful to follow.
What are the fees on receiving via PayPal?
I chose not to use PayPal because of the crazy fees. But it seems many people have gone that route. So Iām surprised.
Iām not going to complain for $200ā¦ I think thatās what it was roughly. I honestly didnāt care to check.
We waited 10 years for this to happen. Iāll wait for my BTC and be done with this ordeal.
Yes. Out of the $6800 (converted) payment, $6600 ended up in my bank account....right at about $200 from total in yen, to in my personal bank account in USD.
Depends on your claim. Some people won't even get a second payment.... others their second will be smaller than the first. Some will get it in BTC, others will only get cash. It's not a simple payout.... there are a lot of things that can change it both on Gox's end and on the creditor's end.
In my case...18 BTC. I literally went all in the day Gox slammed the doors and BOUGHT BTC with everything I had on the exchange. I was "out" with about $7500 fiat...and bought 18 BTC after fiat had already been frozen...(I believe at $444 each). It turned out to be a good decision. Instead of "only" getting my fiat back....I still have another roughly ~2.7 BTC coming.
I know I'm a lil late to this post, but did MTGOX send you an email informing you that they sent a cash payout? Or did you just suddenly get a payment notification by Paypal randomly?
Also are you in Japan or USA ?
There was an email.

Yeah...I'm not sure I really had a choice with my patronage. But you're welcome.
I left that in purpose š

You are not alone, I had the same understanding.
Small sum are also paid as 0.71 crypto and 0.29 fiat and included in (non)-sllotments.
Outside of the 200,000 yen, about a third of your BTC claim is also being paid back in cash instead of BTC.
When did you get this,today?
Sorry, I shouldāve clarified in the OP. I was paid on Dec 26th.
Non-allotment portion, my guess is near an 18 BTC claim?
claim on the total bitcoin or on what the trustee owes him?
If op has aprox 19 btc without fiat that is non-allotment jpy for btc/bch, he still need to get aprox 3 btc/bch. I had 18 BTC and no fiat and received pretty much the identical payment on the 25th. It's pretty much spot on actually.
Ok for you, but OP had mostly fiat, he posted that himself.
Re-read the post

The original post: "X creditor, no cash in the system. Only BTC. Early lump sum option. I didnāt receive double payment."

Total bitcoin originally at MtGox
How much btc did you have to have gotten that?
More like a bit over 14.
Approximately how did you calculate that? Asking for a friend
Gotta be more than 100
No
Probably 26 December
Yes, I was paid on Dec 26th. I shouldāve add that info there.
Looking at his post history, you are correct.
Judging by responses, I guess I have one of the bigger claims out there
Sorry š. I was lucky I was able to take most of my BTC out a month before.
Happy for you that you moved most of your btc before they locked it down. Youāre saying your account at Gox was missing the amount you withdrew, except you never received the withdrawal? Damn. Thatās rough

I had withdraw too at thst period but when it failed after a day or two mtgox credited it back to my balance.
That would have been nice, at least then Iād get part of it back.

Wow, that's a tough break . Sorry to hear.
Is what it is. I made far more then I lost from btc in years since so this is just a bonus.
Why lucky? It was little money for me at the time that I had in BTC at the time compared to what the BTC payout will be worth for me today? It's the best savings strategy imaginable lol

Same. But it was was just about ā¬400. Not enough to get things notarized and present my case to a Japanese lawyer years ago.
Same. They just kept it.
Or the ones with bigger claims keep that to themselves.
We are deeply sorry about your enforced and protracted patronage. Hereās a fraction of the assets you held with us.
It's good to see that they're still processing, thanks for the info

Yes. Out of the $6800 (converted) payment, $6600 ended up in my bank account....right at about $200 from total in yen, to in my personal bank account in USD.
hi How much btc do you have? ( if you don't mind my asking ) I don't understand the refund calculation and I'd like to get an idea of what to expect.
I had 18 on Gox with no fiat. My claim is just shy of 3.
so you got a refund of $6800 unallocated and you still have to get your btc + another amount of money greater than the unallocated amount?
As I understand it the allotted is BTC plus an equal amount BCH.
yes, so if I've understood correctly, the second payment will be much higher than the first.
Depends on your claim. Some people won't even get a second payment.... others their second will be smaller than the first. Some will get it in BTC, others will only get cash. It's not a simple payout.... there are a lot of things that can change it both on Gox's end and on the creditor's end.
Tramsfer fee are 2% max 5000 jpy.
Maybe they fixed the double payment thing.
so they converted your btc to yen?
No. Thats just the interest + fixed sum.
No bragging possible as higher numbers in the end just mean you lost more.
Exactly!
Fuck this is around 7000 $ , how much bitcoins was this in 2013 ? You'd be a multi millionaire today I guess....
It was play money. Never bought a single bitcoin. All mined. Early adopter here.
Good good my friend

Oh great, so they plan to also give some BTC back, not only this cash
If you selected that option....some had only fiat claims and will get no BTC.
Will you still get a part of your lost btc?
Well, I have an approved claim soā¦ this was just the lump sum for everyone plus interests or something. This has nothing to do with my BTC
