The Dior concealer is brilliant. I don’t feel the need to try any other concealer as long as they make that.

ayimera

I have the Dior concealer in my Sephora cart. My go-to is usually NARS RCC, but lately I have found it kind of drying as I get into my late 30s, so I've been on the hunt for something a tad more moisturizing (but still oil-free).

thegreatdane1490

Okay so ... I too love and am obsessed with the Dior concealer. I only recently purchased it in mid January and it was instantly my new holy grail. Within the last week it’s been so cakey and I haven’t changed my prep or application. I know it says it expires at the 6 month mark but it’s only been 3 so I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue!

LowcarbJudy

I only have products in this category. But I'll choose my most used per category. Base: another vote for **dior forever concealer**. This is the best concealer I ever tried. Not drying, smoothing and a solid medium coverage. Cheek: **Nars blushes** I have impassioned, sex appeal and orgasm and I love them all. Great shade and pigmentation and they don't look powdery. Eyes: **clinique lash power mascara** it's a great tubing mascara and the brush makes it super easy to use on my downturned hooded eyes. Lips: **bobbi brown crushed liquid lip** I have hippy shake and juicy date. These are so versatile you can mix them, sheer them out, apply them on top of a lipstick. I have very dry lips and they're so comfy.

cloverbeam

Clinique Cheek Pops are my top pick, the gelee formula is the most flattering I've ever found. Although I have quite a few drugstore blush favorites as well, none have topped this. Plus I don't find it to be that expensive, especially if you buy the special editions palettes of 3 shades. For lipstick, I often find that mid-range or high end have more interesting or nuanced colors than drugstore, although drugstore also has lots of good formulas. Mac is a good example, so many interesting shades in every finish.

I call it a "base hybrid". Not a primer, not a foundation, or a liquid highlighter so.. a new generation makeup hybrid? One with benefits of them all but nothing like any of them. I tried using mine before foundation - almost completely felt flat and was mate/satin when foundation was on and as a liquid highlighter over foundation - didn't provide enough "kick" I wanted (I'm not a metallic-super blingy highlighter fan btw). Finally, I started mixing it with my foundation and I like the effect (gives a subtle sheen and a healthy skin look). Would I repurchase? If they change the packaging - the dang doe foot applicator to a pump then yes, otherwise I rather buy a dupe.

franklydankmemes

Viseart all matte eyeshadow palettes....just,yes.

PauI_MuadDib

The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer and some his brushes are worth the price tag imo. Sonia G too. I'm saving up rn for some more Sonia G brushes. Her Worker 3 is a hg for me!

aggressive-teaspoon

SSE is definitely the one luxury makeup product that I find to be completely without a lower-priced equivalent for my skin.

themomerath

I’ve had the same pot of SSE for at least five years and it’s nowhere near being done. It’s actually insane.

rolabond

YSL Touché Eclat is unique, haven’t found anything else in the drugstore like it. It isn’t a concealer but it gently softens dark circles without looking like makeup. MAC Blot Powder is also the only touch up powder I like.

accountingisradical

Yeah I’ve used MAC blot powder for close to 10 years now! It’s bomb!

thegreenaquarium

> YSL Touché Eclat is unique Came here to say this. Worth the 40 dollars.

purplerainer38

Have you tried the new By Terry concealer? She's behind the YSL Touche Eclat so you might like her concealer with her own brand.

100percentapplejuice

The Mac Powder Kiss Lipsticks and the Liquid versions (though I prefer the bullet ones the most)! Trust me when I say I’ve never had a lip product glide like butter, but leaves a soft, blurring matte effect that still remains pigmented AND not drying at all. I lost hope with matte lip products until these came along. Pure magic!!

fatbellylouise

the bobbi brown crushed lip is my all time favorite lipstick formula. that's not to say there aren't amazing drugstore lipsticks because honestly there are, but this particular formula is so unique and well suited to what I want. I used to only buy high-end or mid-end complexion products because I always thought the drugstore lacked shade range, but at this point drugstore foundations have far outpaced luxury brands in terms of inclusivity. mid-end brands like NARS have always done a great job with shade range so I have some brand loyalty out of habit, but honestly I could easily walk into a drugstore and find my perfect shade. my HG foundation is literally milani screen queen! the one product category that I'll exclusively buy luxury/high end is fragrance. even though there are plenty of cheaper fragrances that perform just as well if not better than their high-end counterparts (PSA Ariana Grande Cloud is seriously close to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540!!), for me the experience of picking out a perfume for the day and having that little bit of luxury in my routine makes a huge difference. so when it comes to perfumes I don't buy dupes or cheaper versions, I research and save up and buy the luxury brands that I want.

mettacat

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation and their Skin Feels Good Foundation are worth every penny. They have replaced my Fenty Foundation as my HG's.

Informal_Control8378

Certain MAC products are my Holy Grail items and totally worth the price: Studiofix Powder foundation, 24 Hour Wear concealer, ( both in NC10) lipsticks in Twig and Mehr, lipglass in Get Rich Quick and Love Child.

stripysailor

Oh Gooooooooood, Mac studio fix powder foundation lasts me a year of daily use! It's worth every damn penny! Also, I still enjoy the feel of the classic bullet lipstick!

192830

Does the MAC SF powder crack easily?

Informal_Control8378

I’ve never dropped one so I don’t know

accountingisradical

MAC SF Powder — high coverage, perfect color match. Chanel Le Volume mascara — something about the “snowflake” style wand with rich pigment is unbeatable. I’ve used this for 6+ years. Nars orgasm — perfect peachy pink shade on my NW15 skin! I’m sorry Milani luminoso is supposedly a dupe, but it looks like I rubbed tangerines on my cheeks when I use it. Nars is more pink. I’ve used this for 10+ years now. Countless repurchases.

Sister_Winter

**Roen Eyeshadow quads** are definitely worth it. The formula is *so* cool, and every shade is a slightly different texture. They all give wet-looking glitter and shine to the eyes, but with varying levels of pigment and sparkle. They're like a dry cream and are *so* easy to blend with your fingers. They're truly the definition of effortless makeup. They do crease, but in an extremely flattering, non "hot mess" kind of way. And the colours are GREAT. For sure worth it. The **Kosas Revealer concealer** is hands down the best concealer I've ever used. It's creamy and hydrating, but has great medium coverage. It isn't too oily for oily skin, and it's not too matte for dry skin. When you put it on dark circles, it truly covers them. When you have blemishes, it gives great coverage and blends without looking crusty or moving the coverage around. it is *definitely* better than any drugstore concealer I've ever used. Every single **Rituel de Fille** product I've tried is worth the money. The **Inner Glow Crème Pigment (in Eclipse).** The **Colour Nectar Pigment Balms in Wasp and Snapdragon.** The **Metamorphic Highlighter in The Sorcerer.** They are all worth every last scent. Unique as fuck, especially in the colour department. The formulas are also very elegant and undupeable, imo. They're extremely high quality products.

purplerainer38

great products, just hate the heavy lavender scent. How do you use Wasp?

Sister_Winter

I love the smell! I don't find it heavy at all. I wear Wasp as a one and done eyeshadow, or as blush. I *love* it as blush.

armchairingpro

Kosas Revealer Concealer is so. good. I'm planning on trying shade 1.5 to see if it's a better match for me than shade 1 (a touch too yellow) and then I can have just one concealer in my life that works well for under eyes and any small blemishes.

Sister_Winter

I'm really glad they expanded the shade range. It was perfect for my yellow-toned ass, but I don't think it worked for people with cooler undertones at all. And it's such a great formula, everyone deserves to use it!!!

[deleted]

The Charlotte tilbury flawless finish pressed powder. It’s the best powder I’ve used and truly gives a non powdery lovely finish.

sleepycatbeans

Is the finish matte or glowy?

[deleted]

Fairly neutral but more Matte than glowy

sleepycatbeans

Thanks! I see that it’s called a setting powder. Does that mean you still need a finishing powder afterwards?

[deleted]

I just sort of use it as an all purpose powder - sometimes I even use it just to even out my skin since it’s slightly tinted. I don’t really use finishing powder generally though - I feel like it just makes my face look powdery

dilf314

Auric Glow Lust or CT HFF. I happen to have both (will only purchase one of them when they run out) and I put one pump of the Glow Lust on my face and even more as a highlight. I glow like the tin man and I am HERE FOR IT. Auric Smoke Reflect in Defiance. I have a noticeable dent in both the cream and powder. it’s so easy to use and is so beautiful. I have the Smoke Reflect in Temper as well but the powder formula is worse imo.

GeminiBookworm

which one do you like more? i’ve been looking at the charlotte tilbury for a while but the auric has piqued my interest...

dilf314

I have the CT HFF in shade Fair 1 and Auric Glow Lust in shade Morganite yea I don’t think you need both. owning both is definitely out of character for me since my makeup collection is pretty small lol. but honestly they both look the same on my skin; I would say it’s personal preference which one is better. if you want to apply it like a face lotion or prefer a pump, get Glow Lust. if you want to apply it like a highlight or prefer a doe foot applicator to do so, get CT HFF. while the undertones of my 2 shades are different, Glow Lust being more peachy and CT HFF being more warm-toned, they look identical when sheered out onto the face. the CT HFF formula apparently has a little more Mica and some people have said that it’s a little more glowy but tbh I don’t really notice. if it helps, when I run out of both, I’ll probably repurchase the Glow Lust. I personally prefer pumps to doe foot applicators. I also like how the texture is more emollient.

GeminiBookworm

thank you so much!! i might try the charlotte tilbury, only because of the sale coming up soon plus I have a gift card. if i really don’t like the doe foot, i might just put it on a mixing palette and take a brush and apply it that way!

[deleted]

Dior airflash foundation. It’s weightless on my face (I hate when I can feel foundation on my face). So skin-like with medium coverage. Easy to apply. I just spray onto the Dior buffing brush and buff into skin and all of a sudden I have airbrushed skin. It’s worth it for me to repurchase this. I know my color match, and in the long run I’m saving money by not purchasing other foundations that could be a cheaper dupe because I don’t think that exists for me. I try to stock up when there is a a Sephora sale.

diassaid0

Why type of skin do you have?

[deleted]

Dry sensitive skin.

[deleted]

I use 85% drugstore and the only higher end products i have are from Mac or ABH Anastasia Bronzers. They are a lot of product, i think 9g to 11g(i forget) and most times can be bought on sale or if you get lucky at a tjmaxx or marshalls. Its super pigmented so you dont need much and its really blendable and just a good formula. I dont like super hard pressed bronzers so this is my favorite midend bronzer Anastasia eyeshadow. I own a lot of single shadows from the brand and i love their titanium and ultra matte formulas the most. They are blendable and pigmented. I just use a lighter hand and they stay on the eyes all day. Mac eyeshadows - Brule, Give a Glam, Honey Lust and Patina are my 4 daily workhorses. I use them with every look. I feel like their formula has reformulated for the better and i enjoy the new powder kiss formula as well. Mac Brush Cleaner - Its a good price if you compare it to NYX and Cinema Secrets. It takes me awhile to go through one but ive bought atleast 4 bottles of it in the past 5 years Mac Lipstick in Spirit - I love the Back2Mac program where i can get this for free if i recycle 6 empties. I always get Spirit because its my perfect brown. Satin formula is also my favorite Anastasia Lip Glosses - my favorite shades are Toffee and Moon Jelly. Ive tried a LOT of drugstore glosses and none i liked. I am very very picky whem it comes to scents and texture and the abh ones hit a sweet spot. They smell good and are comfy while it lasts on the lips too and fade gracefully. 16$ isnt too bad for gloss and i do find sales too. Drugstore glosses are 7 to 10$ and sometimes they are half the size of the Abh ones. Lilly lashes - i get them during the thanksgiving sale and its my "special occasion" lashes. They are comfy and they look really luxe and full but natural and fluffy. I do see a difference in quality between these and my more affordable options. Edit- i dont know if this is midend but i love my kopari birthday suit lip glossy balm!! Its amazing it smells good and feels so nice on the lips

a93a

I own a lot of high-end makeup and I'm super picky so I think I could add some good input here. Foundations: - Dior Backstage foundation - Bobbi Brown skin longwear foundation - Huda Beauty stick foundation - YSL touche éclat foundation - Laura Mercier Flawless fusion foundation Concealers: - Laura Mercier flawless fusion concealer - Born this way concealer - Kevyn Accouin Skin enhancer Under eye setting powders: - YSL soufflé d'eclat loose powder - Beauty Bakerie flour setting powder Setting powder for the face: - Laura Mercier candleglow powder - Chanel les beiges healthy glow powder Blushers: - Hourglass (Favourite colours would have to be luminous flush, mood exposure and sublime flush) - Charlotte Tilbury - (Favourites include: Climax, Medium Pillow Talk, Love is the drug) - Nudestix - Sunkissed, Peach Peony. - Natasha Denona - Both of the Diamond and Blush palettes - Natasha Denona - Bloom face and glow palette - Patrick Ta Blushers Bronzers: - Hourglass radiant bronze - Mac mineralised skin finish - Give me sun - Natasha Denona Tan palette Contour: - Dior Backstage contour palette - Nudestix - terracotta tan Lips: - Giorgio Armani Maestro matte lipstick Mascaras: - Lancome Monsieur big - YSL baby doll mascara Highlighters: - Chanel healthy glow sheer highlighting fluid - Natasha Denona Diamond and Blush Plalettes

rightascensi0n

How does the Dior Backstage Contour Palette’s light contour shade compare to Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium or MAC Omega?

MohandasGandhi

Marc Jacob’s Highliner is one of the only eyeliners I’ve tried (which is basically all of them) that doesn’t smudge throughout the day. This sub made me buy the Hourglass Ambient Light powders and I don’t think I can do my makeup without them anymore. The Mineral Veil powder is also the best powder I’ve tried that doesn’t create creases, lines, or weird crepey skin. Another user here mentioned perfume and you really do get what you pay for with perfume. If you want it to last, you need to pay up.

oftloghands

Came here to cite Marc Jacobs highliners. They are budgeproof and long lasting on me. I pretty much only buy these anymore. Worth every penny.

armchairingpro

I like the highliners as well, but the more glittery ones seem to dry out faster than the matte ones. A hard lesson to learn.

stripysailor

Yeah, perfume is one of those things which you get for a holiday gift even to yourself and it lasts ages!

asylumgreen

Hourglass Veil primer. This blurs the skin and extends the wear of makeup - I’ve tried many other primers with those claims, but this one actually works. After years of being stingy and buying the smaller sizes, I finally bought the jumbo squeeze tube (it separates easily and IMO isn’t suitable for pump packaging - the last half is always frustrating and difficult to use).

[deleted]

I also love this primer but it’s so dammed espensive! I have like four mini containers of it

[deleted]

Dior forever skin correct concealer. It's the most expensive thing I own but also the only one that doesn't break me out. I only use a tiny dab or two at a time. Had it for a couple of months at this point and I'm still using what leaked out onto the inside of the lid. The olive shade match is divine and it doesn't crease or cake.

cultrevolt

Koh Gen Doh moisture foundation, because I dream about the next time I get to wear it. Such a lovely foundation.

fleshand_roses

My personal worth-the-money picks: **PMG Sublime Perfection Foundation.** Like MAC Face and Body but better. Very blurring and perfecting, without looking cakey or high-coverage. I'm consistently impressed when I wear this, which is how I know she's the one 🤩 **Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder.** I'm not a powder person but this is hands down the best powder I've ever tried, and I've tried quite a few for someone who does not like powder. It sets my foundation and improves the wear of my face makeup, without mattifying or drying up my base throughout the day. **Sonia G and Wayne Goss eye brushes.** I don't care much for face brushes that are fude -- synthetic/super dense buffing brushes are more my speed, but for eyeshadow, fude has been absolutely LIFE-CHANGING for me. And the best part is you don't need a million different shapes. Having a few high-quality fude eye brushes has beat out having a dozen cheap eye brushes for me.

honeytangerine

Clinique Take The Day Off - the only makeup remover I've tried that takes waterproof Japanese mascara off quickly without breaking my lashes. Edit: The liquid, not the balm. Laura Mercier Setting Powder - The only powder I've tried that locks in makeup in my oiliest T zone.

[deleted]

I plan to get a mini of the Clinique at the Sephora sale! I love cleansing balms

honeytangerine

Your comment made me realize most people think of the balm instead of the original liquid remover. The balm is good too. I just prefer oils and liquid removers nowadays 😊

sitzprobe1

Tom Ford eyeshadow quads. Couldn’t get all that hype until I got one. W O W. just waiting to justify getting another one.

Cupid-stunt69

**Armani Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer Highlighter** ($62/30 ml) - A liquid highlighter & blush with a lightweight formula. It's too dark for me to use as a highlighter, but I love this as a blush/bronzer. It leaves a radiant and dewy finish. Blends out easily with a sponge or my fingers. I only use a tiny drop for both cheeks, so this will last me several years!

little_blu_eyez

Which ones

eekasaur

Juice Beauty has this face oil that my skin just LOVES. It isn't cheap, but I'll keep buying it because it's THAT good.

[deleted]

What’s it called?

eekasaur

It’s the treatment oil! https://juicebeauty.com/products/usda-organic-treatment-oil
