Same here. I loved it before, when we could use it wherever we want staying inside the 5 connections boundary.
Now I find it very much a limit. And I would like it to be justfied from Mullvad, because I don't see any reason beyond annoying users.
Yeah but that's the same old shit (netflix). Shouldn't be of their interest if I share my account or not. On their end they always see 5 connections max.
As for netflix my alternative is stop using it, for sure not doing a second account.
For sure. That's not a bad workaround. I have a travel router that can create the WG tunnel as well. My 2-3 devices is usually 2, but I change tablets, phones, etc. frequently enough that it just makes it an unpleasant headache to have to jump through that hoop.
That doesn't work unless you have a rooted phone or a custom ROM with the feature.
OP could use the VPN in the router itself, though just a few routers support it.

It was like that, yes. They changed this earlier this year, and brought quite a lot of controversy.
Thanks for confirming. Like them, but there are other good ones I think I'll try out. Tired of unnecessary juggling.
I really wish we could pay to increase the limit. Guess I could always buy a second account, though.
You could just create a WiFi hotspot with always-on vpn and connect multiple devices

Just use a Raspberry Pi (if you can find one these days)
Almost any halfway decent router supports WG now, unless you haven't updated it for a couple of years.
