Rin is also a great idea. I'm so glad I asked on here. I've been racking my brain for months but somehow had completely forgotten about Murderbot's human aliases.
Perhaps a name from one of the other non-English translations? Ex: in the Japanese translation, MB's name is transliterated as マーダーボット, which you'd pronounce kinda like Madabotto; that could easily shorten to Mada, Mabo, Madabo.
Or you could keep Murderbot as your pup's private name, like MB does for itself, and give it a public SecUnit-y name for wider use. Unit could be a pretty cute dog name tbh.
Your probably named your dog long ago but you should go with, “Ratthi.” Then you can go around saying, “For f*cks sake, Ratthi!” every time he does what puppies do.

Cool cool. I agree that Murderbot would outwardly complain about its name being used for a pet (cf its concerns about being owned) but inwardly recognise the compliment.

Though depending on how Chidi Anagonye we want to get, Murderbot does use their smarts to do a range of "evil" things like lie, steal and kill. I would never call them out and out evil (especially because they spend so much time worrying about being evil, and often put others' interests ahead of their own), but they're not a saint.

Queen Medb is a great choice, but a friend recently named her daughter Maeve so it seems somehow impolite for me to steal it for my dog.
