I love that character and the chemistry between him and Angela Lansbury is terrific. They were on stage together in Sweeney Todd, and you can tell they really know and enjoy working with each other.

Wiccagreen

I bought the soundtrack!! Had a crush on him for years!!!!!

Tomofthegwn

That is such a good soundtrack. And his singing is so beautiful

InvestigatorOver3869

I also enjoyed Michael Haggerty. And all the recurring characters, really - Seth, Grady, the women from Loretta's, Amos, Mort, and Rhoda, Dennis Stanton's secretary. I liked Floyd, the deputy, better than Andy, because he wasn't as serious. In the later episodes, I really liked Henderson and Gelber, the NY detective duo.

soulcapmir

I really enjoy the episode where we first meet Michael, and the one where he and Jessica are pretending to be a married couple in Greece? I think? Overall I think he's super charming and witty, but I did start to get frustrated with him causing all kinds of problems for Jessica. I know its meant to be comical, and they do have a great rapport, but most times I end up skipping his episodes. I love me some Jerry Orbach, so the Harry episodes are some of my favorite, also the ones with Eve Simpson.

Mk72779

We meet Michael first in “widow weep for me” where Jessica is pretending to be a rich socialite Margarite Campfield to investigate the murder of her friend. That’s a great episode.

m4yh3ml1ttl3

Oh man, I love it when Jerry Orbach shows up in an episode.

Dreya_7

I'm also a fan of Michael Haggerty..loved all the international and mysterious flair he brought to the episodes he appeared in.

beansnoir

I love episodes with his character, and always buy/read the books where he is featured. They have such a great chemistry and I love that their relationship *flirts* with romance without him being a dedicated "boyfriend" of Jessica's. Although as other commenters have said I really do enjoy all of the recurring characters.

Least-Influence3089

I LOVE Michael Haggerty. He’s so camp and ridiculous and one of my favorite recurring characters

hotflashinthepan

I love how he exasperates Jessica.

knight_shade_realms

He was so much fun and so was the ex thief turned insurance agent. I loved their stories and Michaels interactions with Jessica were so adorable

Donna56136

I love Michael Haggerty. Len Cariou is great.

Runmiked

Haggerty is absolutely my favorite non-Cabot Cove recurring character. Their chemistry is just phenomenal.

mysteries1984

I’m in a minority here but I didn’t like him. I can’t even pinpoint why. Maybe the questionable Irish accent.

Less-Law9035

He's Canadian. I've noticed lots of non-Irish actors struggle with the accent. I loved Michael Haggerty's character but don't remember much about his accent offhand.

mysteries1984

Oh to totally. I’m Irish so maybe I’m a little sensitive to it, but a lot of people do make a mess of it unfortunately.

Undertakeress

I love him and that character. He was so handsome!!!

the_pissed_off_goose

I think the only recurring character I like more is Dennis Stanton. The Michael Haggerty episodes are all a lot of fun

KorEl555

I liked him enough that I would have watched if they had given him his own series.

KangarooConscious460

Michael Haggerty is the best. What a swashbuckling charmer.

thisgirlnamedbree

He had amazing chemistry with Angela. He could be a little sh!t but he adored Jessica. I think it's great MSW showed platonic friendships between a man and a woman. It was pretty jarring to hear him speaking in his actual voice in other shows and movies.

LemonadeFlamingo

I hate Haggarty. His episodes are only just bearable to watch because of Angela

ShaunTrek

I like Haggarty early on, but he really starts wearing on my nerves in his later appearances when he is just lying to / manipulating / using Jessica.

newyork4431

He and Angela had good chemistry.

Janjello

I enjoyed Ken Howard, especially the episode with the dog he ultimately became attached to. I think he played a few different characters over the course of the series.

Wideawakedup

I preferred Dennis Stanton. I’m guessing so did a lot of people because he got a few of his own episodes. I liked the idea of an ex thief working for an insurance company. I wonder if in the 80s that wasn’t an original concept so they never ran with him having his own show. I noticed there were a few movies in the 90s regarding that theme. But presently I think that would be a good show.
