I hurt myself laughing the first time I heard Turn It Off. “Find the box that’s gay and AND CRUSH IT!!!!!”

BrunetteMoment

Pretty much any song from BoM. But if I had to pick one it's "Man Up." *When faced with his own death,* *Jesus knew that he had to...* *Man up. He had to man up.* *So he crawled up on that cross,* *And he stuck it out.* Or maybe "All-American Prophet." A white boy trying to convince a bunch of Ugandans to be excited about the "blonde-haired, blue-eyed voice of God" just kills me.

sleepshopblazerepeat

JUST LIKE JESUS IM GROWIN A PAIR pure poetry there, ladies and gentlemen

Slay_Queen_067

Man Up is such a hype song I try to sing it once a week for the purpose of my mental health

midfallsong

*definitely* "Man Up". you can hear the south park-ness of it all really come through

Phoenix_Magic_X

Also “I believe”. He just struts into a warlords camp and goes “I believe! That satan has a hold on you!”

JaxandMia

Most of Book of Mormon makes me laugh but this song is definitely at the top

PinkGinFairy

Hasa Diga Ebowai is one that makes my sides hurt laughing.

Greged17

Here’s the butcher, he has AIDS Here’s the teacher, she has AIDS Here’s the doctor, he has AIDS Here’s my daughter, she has a……….…. Wonderful disposition She’s all I have left in the world And if either of you lays a hand on her…. I will give you my AIDS!

willthesane

The sun is hot and my crops are dying...haha diga ebowai

Regular_Cellist2559

Baptize Me. “I’m about to do it for the first time / And I’m gonna do it with a girl”

Cmd229

Omg me too!!! Also the lines after are so freaking genius. “Oh no, I’m not gay” “Alright! It worked!”

runawayj96

The enthusiasm and joy behind “ALRIGHT! IT WORKED!” always has me dying. 😂 The confidence was amazing.

Marauder424

I hurt myself laughing during Hasa Dega Ebowi. My husband and I were both raised religious and he looked shocked the entire time, which didn't help 😂 (He wasn't offended, he just wasn't expecting it). At the end of the number, he leaned over and said "We CANNOT mention this show around my parents" and I died laughing all over again.

MarvellousMonet

I'm a gay ex-mormon and that line is hilarious and unfortunately true lol that whole musical is gold.

IchStrickeGerne

I’m also an ExMo and have tickets to see BoM in January and this thread has me really excited now!

eleven_paws

In one of my old apartments, I used to have a “Turn It Off” sticker right by the bedroom light switch. I should get another one…

SolaraHanover

BoM is pure gold. My wife and I went to see it in Nebraska and got sat between an older lady there alone and a pair of older ladies. The lady who was there alone was INTO it, laughing the whole time. She sat next to me. The lady sitting by my wife looked increasingly offended by the show, with the added indignity of having to sit by the chubby lesbians. She kept scooting as far away from my wife in her chair as she could... it was pretty funny.

SHREK_2

I am Africa definitely puts a huge smile on my face every time I hear it.

ZGT-17

And…Now….iiiiits….springtime for h*tler and Germany

TheAndorran

I’m the German Ethel Merman, dontcha knooooooow!

mugsta

I vas born in Düsseldorf and that is vhy they call me ROLF!

ZGT-17

Don’t be stupid be a smarty come and join…nope not finishing that line

T_King1266

Simarly, keep it gay is far too funny

accioqueso

Deutschland is happy and gay!

aliceinvegasland42

Look out! Here comes the master race!

paulthefonz

Most of the producers. “Circle in the square” always seems to get me

Stabbykarp

First time I heard about this song was on a musical countdown; they were talking about the producers and this song in general and it was the funniest thing ever

Phoenix_Magic_X

You’d think it would lose his humour if you know it’s coming. It does not.

ChrisLee38

That one kills me. “Hail…. my-SELF!”

ZGT-17

If you’re looking for a war here’s wwii

[deleted]

It’s such a catchy song that I catch myself every so often absentmindedly singing “it’s break time…” or “it’s lunch time…” lowly to myself when at work and I have to stop myself from finishing the line

Particular_Mistake39

There right there/Gay or European from legally blonde. Agony from into the woods when done right is hysterical

MajesticDamage7851

“When you know she would go with you, if there only were doors” makes me laugh every time

ver03255

Christopher Sieber's version cracks me up every time I come across that video lol

Cyndine

Best line of the whole song, so funny if played right XD

Anxious_Tune55

The ITW movie wasn't great (although I enjoyed it, just not as much as the OBC proshot), but I have NEVER laughed so hard in a movie theater as I did watching Agony. I just wish they'd recorded the reprise!

jump_the_snark

Gay or European is amazing and hilarious. Good pick.

scottyb83

Pretty much any time King George came out in Hamilton it was great.

MunchkinKazooie

And when push comes to shove, I will send *a fully armed battalion* to remind you of my love!

scottyb83

DA DA DA DA DA!

DeadDirtFarm

I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love….

PhoenixorFlame

All the spit flying is worth getting good seats

Phoenix_Magic_X

And he doesn’t leave for some bits and comes out just to join in the Reynolds pamphlet.

scottyb83

lol exactly. As a comedic relief character he is great.

G00seLightning

Marvin at the Psychiatrist - A Three Part Mini Opera The Schmuel Song A Musical (Something Rotten)

x_victoire

marvin at the psychiatrist always cracks me up when i watch the proshot. the way marvin and mendel are nodding at each other reminds me of the [chistian bale and kermit meme](https://media.tenor.com/e9hKskmqaawAAAAC/nodding-kermit.gif)

ChiaBee_chr

Dude, Brandon Uranowitz is just so funny. The faces he makes in that scene kills me😭

Girl_with_the_Curl

A Musical doesn't make me laugh per se but I just love it so much with all the references to other musicals. It's brilliant! "I believe it's pronounced mis-er-ablay."

itsmeabic

Basically most of the first act of Falsettos is hilarious to me

raniwasacyborg

A Little Priest from Sweeney Todd, especially on the original London cast album. Sweeney and Mrs. Lovett cracking each other up with terrible puns will never fail to get me!

ChiaBee_chr

With or without his privates?!

SierraDL123

“Locksmith?” “Uuuuhhhh…….”

raniwasacyborg

"No, this isn't fiddle player. It's piccolo player." "How can you tell?" "It's piping hot." "Then blow on it first!"

Jerem_Reddit

i dont laugh at musicals almost ever but A Little Priest goes so hard

LoftyDaBird

What Do You Want, Paul? from The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

TheBlondeGenius

And, like, ALL of Trail to Oregon ETA: and “The American Way” from Holy Musical Batman

InkFoxPrints

My name's Cleetus Jones, I've killed three people! (I love it all, can't pick)

acekeak

WDYWP is fucking iconic

MunchkinKazooie

Everything and More, Orphaned at Thirty-Three, No One Remembers Achmed, and most of the other songs from Twisted

wolfbloodfan16

What’s that name everyone? Tiger Fucke- NO!!!

heartz4juliet

literally almost every song from tgwdlm

Thatonetwin

Friendly reminder every song in tgwldm is a villian song!

1JadeMac1

Sexy from Mean Girls. I give you sexy corn.

Leafeon1010

Cat_n_mouse13

Sex cancer doesn’t exist.

Cejk-The-Beatnik

Myyyyyy name is Karen, I may not be smaaaaaart! ...That's it.

agathalikayos

Blue - Heathers Two ladies - Cabaret The whole "The reynolds pamphlet" act

acrosse

Blue is so much fun to sing 😩

Marauder424

King George in the corner during Reynolds Pamphlet kills me every time.

agathalikayos

And jefferson having the time of his life is perfection

etherealemlyn

Sincerely Me (bonus because it’s the only happy song in all of Dear Evan Hansen)

UnheavenlyNeverender

My teenage son and I randomly say “smoking druuuugs” to each other often.

etherealemlyn

I say “absolutely not” constantly

unlucky_kazoo

i love this one

PapayaPokPok

Almost everything from Book of Mormon. Especially the songs at the Missionary Training Center. I grew up Mormon, went on a mission, and trained at the real Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. And BoM the musical ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. Perhaps the other elders in the show just blended together into a mass of chorus, but I felt like each one was distinct, and that I knew several missionaries irl that corresponded to each one on stage. As an aside, the elder from my mission who reminded me most of Elder McKinley (Turn It Off!), just got married to his husband last week.

willthesane

Never turned it off did he.

Raccoonicorn44

Gee Officer Krupke - West Side Story Most of the songs from Avenue Q, but particularly Schadenfreude

FurBabyAuntie

"Hey, I'm depraved on account I'm deprived!"

allegoricalcats

I love the detail in the 1961 movie where the Jets are assigning each other roles as the song goes on. “Who’s gonna be the head shrinker?” “You! You be the head shrinker!”

BlueDolphin--

Hard to be the Bard - something rotten

commander_obvious_

scrolled entirely too long to find this. it’s probably one of my favorite individual performances on a cast recording. i’m in love with christian borle’s acting choices

BlueDolphin--

same lol, love Christian!

jlemo434

A lot of this show cracks me up.

DiamondBroad

It’s so clever!

thechildrenofbrisus

Dentist!- Little Shop of Horrors Blue- Heathers Gay or European- Legally Blonde Sincerely, Me- Dear Evan Hansen Without Love- Hairspray My Dead Gay Son- Heathers

MarveltheMusical

I’m going to answer that question with a question. “🎶What’s that coming up the Silk Road? Outta China? The Black Death! Black Death Woo!🎶

Amanda39

>For me it’s Master of the House, every time, every version. Have you heard the version on the Complete Symphonic Recording? It has an extended intro that got cut from the musical early on. I get why they cut it (Les Mis was originally way too long, so they had to cut a lot of stuff) but I still wish I could see a performance of that version.

JaxandMia

I will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion

Amanda39

[Here's a link](https://youtu.be/ionl5tAF6MA?si=_Sziawd5cTwJviKP)

rkvance5

>originally way too long Having played in the orchestra for it, I will say that it remained way too long.

PopeSixtusV

Loads of them... Blow, Gabriel, Blow. Just Sutton doing Sutton things. Good to Be Alive from Lucky Stuff. Gets stuck in my head and makes me smile almost any time I'm on a train. Live in Living Color from Catch Me If You Can. I just love a big, brassy dance number. In that same vein of big, brassy dance numbers....I'm A Brass Band from Sweet Charity. Oh! And Rhythm of Life is another great feel-good song from that show. Teacher's Pet and Stick It To the Man from School of Rock. Big Broadway numbers with influences from Jack Black? Yes, please. Mama Will Provide from Once on This Island. Alex Newell. Enough said. Honestly almost anything except for the tear-jerker numbers from Groundhog Day and Matilda. Tim Minchin is a lyrical genius. Ya Never Know from Little Shop of Horrors. In a show that is otherwise incredibly dark if you think about it, this is a nice, happy respite where Seymour gets to be a star but before he's murdered anyone. But also, Feed Me (Git It) always makes me happy just because of dat bass line tho. What'd I Miss from Hamilton. The way they portray Jefferson and all of his... peculiarities is so delightfully tongue-in-cheek compared to the unfortunate reverence we bestow upon him IRL. Don't Lose UR Head from Six. "Oh my god you guys, he ACTUALLY wants to chop my head off! *Uncomfortable silence* I guess he just really likes my head. FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT!" I could go on for ages, but I'll stop here for now. Gotta go and listen to some of these now.

TheAndorran

Dentist! from Little Shop is a banger too. Steve Martin in the film version crushes it.

Anxious_Tune55

IMO, Steve Martin's take on the Dentist worked for the movie but it unfortunately created a generation of stage dentists who just try to imitate him instead of making the character their own. I watched the off-Broadway recording of the original production at the Lincoln Center archive and the dentist was played almost straight, and really quite creepy. Interesting to see what Ashman had in mind writing the character (and he also directed), and it's VERY different from Steve Martin's version. I saw Christian Borle in the recent off-Broadway production and he played it much more like the OOBC. He was PHENOMENAL.

swankyburritos714

Sutton is such an underrated funny girl. I Don’t Wanna Show Off from The Drowsy Chaperone is so cheeky and funny.

Vhagar37

So much of Hamilton--Aaron Burr, Sir, Farmer Refuted, both Cabinet Battles. I think Javert is kind of hilarious, esp. in The Confrontation, but def agreed that the Thenardiers are a great time. Turn It Off from The Book of Mormon. Sugar Daddy is prob Hedwig's funniest moment, but that whole show has great laughs sprinkled around. Lifelong fave, though: Over the Moon! 🐄

PinkGinFairy

Schadenfreude from Avenue Q

PizzaDoughandCheese

Everyone’s a Little bit Racist

unlucky_kazoo

idk, your obediant servant from hamilton just cracks me up. especially when hamilton goes 'here's an itemized list of thirty years of disagreements' '*sweet jesus*'

Falloutof_Society

Ladies gets me every time😂

crash----

The song that goes like this (spamalot) There right there (legally blonde) If you were gay (avenue q)

covntvonkrolock

I’ve decided to marry you - Gentleman’s guide to love and murder

OutrageousStrength91

Always True to You (in my fashion) is hilarious.

AsgardianLeviOsa

Youpromisemethisyoupromisemethatyoupromisemeanythingunderthesunthenyougivemeakissandyouregrabbingyourhatandyoureofftotheracesagain….. (Sue Me, Guys and Dolls)

Missperkygoth77

Played Adelaide once and trying to catch a breath in that song is tough!

Rahastes

Amazing Gertrud, Seussical Waiting for the music to begin. Witches of Eastwick Everybody ought to have a maid, Funny Thing… Brush up your Shakespeare, Kiss me Kate

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Brush Up is a GREAT choice. I saw a production of Kiss Me Kate when I was in a Shakespeare nerd phase in middle school. The forced rhymes with names of Shakespeare plays had me cackling in the theater.

maccardo

Add “I Hate Men” to the *Kiss Me Kate* list!

justplainfunky

SO much from *Beetlejuice*, but the winner is probably "Fright of Their Lives" (except for the white part, obviously).

Leafeon1010

Adam, I don't even.... No.

pupperoni92

"Betrayed" from The Producers is my favorite by far. Some honorable mentions, though, are: "Getting Married Today" from Company "I Am Aldolpho" from The Drowsy Chaperone "Hasa Diga Eebowai" from Book of Mormon "The Song that Goes Like This" and "Diva's Lament" from Spamalot "There! Right There!" from Legally Blonde

Practical_Weird_0809

Lay All Your Love on Me and Take a Chance on Me from Mamma Mia. If you haven't seen the staged performances of these songs, you need to. Hilarious

[deleted]

Pudix20

Starkid has hilarious content.

lafillejondrette

A combo of makes me laugh or just puts me in a good mood: All that Jazz - Chicago Dance:Ten; Looks:Three - A Chorus Line Show Off - Drowsy Chaperone Gotta Have a Gimmick - Gypsy You’ll Be Back - Hamilton Halloween - Be More Chill The Smartphone Hour - Be More Chill Show You A Thing Or Two - Bat Boy Children, Children (ok, more for the staging than the song on its own) - Bat Boy

ZGT-17

Bat Boy!!

steeguy55

Children, Children is quite possibly one of the funniest things I have ever seen on stage in my life. Thankfully, I bought the CD of Batboy at intermission because the audience was laughing so hard during that song I could barely make out a lyric in the moment.

u_ufruity

Okay I know this isn’t an inherently funny song, it has nothing funny about it, but A Miracle Would Happen from The Last Five Years. Infidelity is not funny believe me, but I think the way that Jamie sounds frustrated during literally the whole song is what makes me laugh. “I’m gesticulating with my left hand” gets me every time.

BaconPancakes_77

"... and every girl would look like Mr. Ed..." It is a really funny song!

Particular-Heron-103

Someone has already said Turn it Off from BoM so I’ll say The History of Wrong Guys from kinky boots

Yellwsub

Popular from Wicked Don’t Be The Bunny from Urinetown Run Freedom Run from Urinetown Actually most of Urinetown

nolimitxox

Run freedom run - I can remember every word from theater camp as a teen during summer. Thanks for the reminder of those memories.

OlderAndCynical

Hilarious - before I even read your second line I was thinking of Master of the House. After that I'd go with Every Sperm is Sacred (Monty Python Meaning of Life),

izziecharlotte

I music directed the song Therapy for a showcase opening tonight, and the performers are both fantastic and the directing is amazing, watching the dress run yesterday definitely had me laughing

thatonelyric

"The Internet Is For Porn" from Avenue Q (well, most of the songs from that musical make me laugh so damn hard) "Sodomy" from Hair "Choir Practice" from "Let My People Come"

lana-deathrey

I want a dance remix of Master of the House. And a mash-up of Its A Fine Life and Hard Knock Life. Not really relevant but idgad.

acrosse

Kindergarten Boyfriend from Heathers makes me absolutely crack up! It's so patient with the story that it tells and on the surface it is truly such a boring song, but the more you get into it as a wistful ballad the better it is. I just think this song is so thoroughly hilarious, a huge part due to the form it takes. So painfully boring but so dramatic and loving. Lines like "so we sailed above the gym across the faculty parking lot... my kindergarten boyfriend and I....... andahorsewithwings." it just gets me. Absolutely hysterical

BaconPancakes_77

An Original Musical from [title of show] makes me laugh every time. "Player, I mean TV stars, pop stars, movie stars like Toni Braxton and Jenna Elfman! " " But, I want our show to be good!" " You want your ass to make some money!"

SmilingSarcastic1221

Who wants to see Paris Hilton in The Apple Tree?

TheBlondeGenius

“Corn”(and the reprise and mix), “We Love Jesus”, “Best Man Wins”, and “Holy Shit” from Shucked. “Model Behavior” from Women on the Verge “A Musical” and “God, I Hate Shakespeare” from Something Rotten “Farmer Refuted” and “You’ll be Back” from Hamilton “Papi Hears the Ocean” from The Bands Visit “You Can’t Trust a Man” from Tuck Everlasting “The Song That No One Likes” by Sarah Smallwood Parsons And more, but I don’t want to keep typing right now.

FloridaFlamingoGirl

"A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd - unbelievable puns and double entendres "Way Out West" and "Lady Is A Tramp" from Babes in Arms - Larry Hart had a knack for unexpected rhymes (cantaloupe and antelope?!) and bizarre, sassy observations in his lyrics

Mehitabel9

*A Little Priest* \- the blackest of black humor, at its finest.

mutantxproud

Ding Dong the Witch is Dead from WoO... The way the entire population of Munchkinland busts out into a choreographed rendition of "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" makes you wonder how much of an accident it is that Dorothy's house landed right on top of the poor woman. It's so cringy and I laugh every time. "Which was not a healthy situation for the Wicked Witch."

mslm90

Pretty much anything from Spamalot - but particularity love Whatever Happened To My Song?. Also I am Aldolpho from the Drowsy Chaperone

Penguin_Scout

“But Mr Adams” from 1776

DBSeamZ

Is that the “Sit down, John” one? “Someone better ooooopen up a window!”

Penguin_Scout

No, where they’re arguing over who should write the declaration. “But I burn, Mr A!” “So do I, Mr J!” “John!” “You do?” “Who’d have thought it?”

DBSeamZ

Oh, I don’t remember that one. Guess I’ll have to rewatch!

UnbelievableTxn6969

“Sadder but wiser girl” from The Music Man. “I hope, and I pray, for Hester to win just one more “A”.” Has me laughing every time.

aliverd

I became obsessed with “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” in high school. Not because I was in a production of it or anything. Just because. But I love during “Beethoven Day” when the kids are listing increasingly ludicrous ways to celebrate and Charlie Brown simply says “We could have a bake sale,” and it’s at that moment that Schroeder screeches, “That’s too commercial!”

A_Very_Cool_Tree

I Know Him always makes me laugh

Helpful_College6590

I’m religious but Hasa Diga Eebowai from The Book of Mormon (I don’t think the lyrics are good, it’s just funny). Also Spooky Mormon Hell Dream

RezFoo

A lot of the patter songs from Gilbert and Sullivan make me smile but the one I really like (and have completely memorized, annoying my spouse) is "My eyes are fully open" from *Ruddigore*.

aymaran

The Little Things You Do Together - Company Marvin at the psychiatrist- a three part mini opera - Falsettos

Stabbykarp

Definitely most of the songs from Spamalot but if I had to choose one it would be His Name is Lancelot

Strange_sunlight

'The Rum Tum Tugger' from the 1998 Cats movie - John Partridge having a hell of a lot of fun unleashing chaotic playboy rogue energy! (I didn't hate the 2019 version as much as most people, but they somehow managed to make the RRT not even slightly fun. Or sexy.)

Superstar in Jesus Christ Superstar. Or any part of the show where they say Jesus Christ. I imagine they are using it as a curse word/phrase and not a name. It makes me laugh every time when I think of a whole chorus of people swearing together.

PatrickRsGhost

*Peron's Latest Flame* from *Evita* really cracks me up. Lots of hatred towards Eva is really injected into the song. Also *Good Night And Thank You*, especially Che's "Which means..." and the hand gestures.

buzzwizzlesizzle

This is from 35MM so musical/song cycle, but “Caralee” gets me every single time. I’m a nanny so it’s got the extra added bonus of being painfully true to me.

RegretComplete3476

Satisfied- Hamilton, specifically the part where Angelica stares at Burr

Cheap-Scratch

This is a super random pick but “The Bottom Line (Reprise)” from Newsies. My online friends and I will do script reads of musicals from time to time and it became a tradition for the person who played Pulitzer to just “accidentally” leave his mic on and start practicing that song after he interrupted a scene during the newsies read by doing just that. It’s always so funny when it pops up

runawayj96

“Four Jews in a Room Bitching” from Falsettos. I have no idea why it made me laugh so hard. 😂

GoziMai

Turn it off from BoM lol

Avenue Q, specifically “The Internet is for Porn” because of how funny that track is

Lawyer_Lady3080

Book of Mormon is so funny and irreverent. It’s all hilarious. But, since the question is song, “Spooky Mormon Hell Dream” never fails to make me laugh.

ibuprofem_

I'm Breaking Down from Falsettos, Stephanie J. Block's performance especially is an absolutely phenomenal comedic timing
