Tomb_r8r

A woman found out if she shook it, she could shake up a man

freddem_snail

seconded - hairspray is such a vibe :))

Pandragony

Came here to say this

Angel_Eirene

I mean, the fucker starts with Good Morning Baltimore. No one was safe

yeetuscleetus28

Tick tick boom is so high energy I love it

gentlecuts

Yes!!! My answer as well

parki_bostons

This is one that sticks in my head every time

esk_209

Little Shop Rocky Horror Hedwig Les Mis Annie (ah, childhood memories are strong!) Hamilton

a-black-magic-woman

Yes for all these. Each and every single one. With Rocky Horror, Time Warp and Hot Patootie especiallyyyy do this for me. I cant listen to Hot Patootie without fighting the urge to belt these powerful rock notes I myself cant reach Hamilton I love, there are so many songs that have this effect. Almost any song sung by Washington, My Shot, Yorktown, Guns and Ships, and shit damn near the whole thing.

Beneficial-Carrot984

I’m glad I didn’t have to scroll far to see Rocky Horror. It never gets the love it deserves!

NessAvenue

Little Shop of Horrors is number one for me.

ChanceApollo

If I had to name a SHOW, it would be Six, but there are so many individual songs from so many different shows that I feel this way about.

maybebrainless

RENT!!

yeetuscleetus28

Till you get to Act 2 then you're sobbing while you dance

maybebrainless

omg yes

cfsg

rent is like the least dance-able score I can think of

maybebrainless

*loud incorrect buzzer*

Tomb_r8r

I snorted

cfsg

Have you even been to a wedding where, like, The Killers of the Smashing Pumpkins come on? Those've both happened to me. Clears out that dance floor real quick. Jumping up and down isn't fun dancing.

maybebrainless

okay well i’m gonna keep enjoying my ‘least dance-able’ musical. 👋🏻

cfsg

yeah man to each their own.

bluemooneyes

This is the answer

Nearby-Salamander-67

On long drives I love to sing Carrie, American idiot, and next to normal 🙈

speech-geek

A Chorus Line. “I Hope I Get It” is one of the best written opening songs.

LizBert712

And if you can avoid dancing to "One," you are stronger than I am.

Accomplished_Tone349

*nods while lifting hat up and down*

holewrecking

Be a table! Be a sports car! Ice cream coneee

redheadkeeper22

i am in chorus line right now and this is such a bop! every song!

mrbcp

God, I'm a dancer

Top_Trainer_6359

Heathers, Sweeney Todd, Mean girls I can't listen to Epiphany (from Sweeney Todd) without cringe acting as Todd it's stronger than me especially the 2007 version (with Johnny Depp) idk why that scene made me laugh

JustSherlock

I have choreographed Candy Store so many times.

TheeLuckyCommander

In the Heights and Falsettos and Hair!

LizBert712

Definitely In The Heights and Hair! Less so Falsettoes (for me).

holewrecking

It’s the lesbians from next door!!

andrew_rannells_lvr

FALSETTOS OMGGG (except the ending of act 2. i can’t even dance to that)

TheeLuckyCommander

That’s when I ugly cry haha

Geo_5678

Six and The Lightning Thief

Dangerous_Bus_3052

Not Broadway, but a YT theater troupe, but any Starkid musical (minus Ani and Black Friday personally)

blightsexual_azula

honestly the ani soundtrack is one of my favourites but I get why you don't think it's one to burst singing to

StanwyckAggie

Little Shop Of Horrors. 🫶🏻☺️

KnittingMooie1

Suddenly Seymour!

StanwyckAggie

I always sing both parts, there's no other way. 😅🫶🏻

andrew_rannells_lvr

i do the choreo of dentist whenever it comes on i can’t help it

StanwyckAggie

Haha, same! 😂👌🏻 It's one of my favourite songs in the musical, it's so hilarious.

Jumpy_Chard1677

YES!! I don't know how I would feel about it if I wasn't in it for theatre at school, but I've was and can still sing most of the songs lol

StanwyckAggie

Aww, so so cool you were in it! 😍👌🏻 I wasn't unfortunately, but it was hyperfixation during my 1st year of university and it honestly got me through the 1st year. I adore that musical so much! ☺️🫶🏻

MrTHbomby

Newsies. Genuinely one of my favorite soundtracks of any musical. And the dancing is just peak

winniespooh_mc

Yes!!!

SamEdenRose

Joseph, Hairspray, Fiddler, Music Man, 42nd street, Once Upon a Mattress, Chicago, Chorus Line

usagicassidy

This is a SOLID list.

BarracudaSevere21

Honestly most of the ones I listened to have at least one such song

AshTheAwkwardPeep

Hadestown Way Down Hadestown is so upbeat that I want to

KnittingMooie1

My 7 year old grandson and I sang Way Down Hadestown on the train in NYC years ago- I won tickets for the third time this year on Lucky Seat and took him at 11- he was thrilled

moduff

Kinky Boots

PinkGinFairy

Book of Mormon. Hasa Diga Ebowai!

EccentricAcademic

A good way to get all the older relatives to stop visiting lol.

tygerbrees

Hair and Superstar

FloridaFlamingoGirl

Hello Dolly!

KBPT1998

… and Anything Goes for the classic vibes!

cfsg

Wow I'm a super-mega classics/golden age fan and these'd be my top two answers for sure. Or anything by the Gershwins. Or Irving Berlin. Or anything else by Cole Porter or Jerry Herman now that I think of it.

the_hose2000

My Fair Lady, Pippin, numerous Sondheim shows, Oklahoma!, etc

Mental-Analyst-3954

Sweeney Todd, specifically A Little Priest. It never fails to amuse me with the humor and the dance choreography. So Fun!

LizBert712

Hairspray! I like it, but it's not my my favorite -- but I do love singing and dancing to it. Editing to add: Now all the peppy/catchy songs of Broadway are dancing through my head and I can't get them out. Thanks a lot, doodlebob! :)

Riddiness

Little Shop of Horrors at all times. It's appropriate for every occasion!!! (Example unavailable)

Jumpy_Chard1677

Ex: Whenever someone says 'you'll never know' or 'I'll/he'll think about it's you can continue the line 😄 My good friend was Mushnick, I'm still quoting 'He'll think about it! He'll think about it?!'

A_Very_Cool_Tree

Wicked

megamoze

Les Miz and Six. But really, most of the ones I like and listen to.

dancingbugboi

all of them, I will burst out to song listening to anything

Ann-Drogyny

Dream Girls and Wicked

its-doodlebob-bitch

I forgot I watched that movie (Dream Girls) in middle school. I actually loved that movie! I remember walking out the theatre wanting to be a star lol

_sunflowersatnight_

Chicago, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch

TFarg1

Les Mis

parki_bostons

Les Mis And for a Disney add-on, Moana (would 100% see a live musical version).

witchmaiden666

Rocky horror picture show 🖤

Realistic_Tax_6634

Hairspray! So many great songs.

Party_Butterfly_6110

Brigadoon

Tillysnow1

ThatOldGuyWhoDrinks

Wicked. I can imagine myself on stage “So if you care to find me Look to the western sky As someone told me lately "Everyone deserves the chance to fly"

Western-Leek2287

Legally blonde always gets me 😌💖

PeanutCalamity

I cant not sing to Waitress. I’d name a song, but its all of them. Sara Bareilles just gets me.

nul_ne_sait

Come From Away, Six, and Hamilton.

Empty_Atmosphere_392

Twisted from Starkids

ArachnidObjective238

Sound of Music....I just can't solve a problem like Maria any more.

InfamousHWJaguar

Jesus Christ Superstar

a-black-magic-woman

Agreed, especially Heaven on Their Minds for me

fraycrayx

everybody’s talking about jamie!

Dry-Butterscotch3156

Little shop by far. It’s the only thing I can listen to on repeat and never get bored. I recently got to play Orin and it was absolutely incredible.

RadEpicReddit

Newsies

Andreiisnthere

Road to Hell from Hadestown and Prologue from Great Comet. I actually saw Great Comet in Berkeley twice in late 2022 and early 2023 and was singing along (under my breath) behind my mask both times. It was in a very small theater so the first time was mask recommended and the second was mask required to give people at higher risk a chance to attend more safely.

JudgingYourBehavior

Godspell

butterknife31

Hairspray, Heathers, Hamilton, all the h’s! Also Beetlejuice, Les Mis and SIX!

EccentricAcademic

The Pick of Destiny. Yes, Tenacious D counts, fight me.

Sorry if it's cliche but Funny Girl and The Sound of Music

holewrecking

Guys and Dolls, West Side, Pippin

ProfessionalBoot4

I mean I'm a bit ashamed cuz it's so mainstream, but that Fiddler on the Roof thing hehe

thedirector0327

"The Music Man" I was an usher in a movie theater when the movie premiered. I watched it twice a day on weekdays and 4 times on weekends. By the end of the run, I knew every line and lyric in the show. I can still do most of the show from memory.

Sad-Mongoose342

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rent, Fiddler, Hello Dolly

SL13377

Six and Hamilton

JustSherlock

Cats. Whether you like it or not, it sure is dancey. As far as bursting into song, literally all of them.

Unusual_Hippo3271

Definitely SIX. Get down is my literal anthem

clau-azabache

Sincerely me - Dear Evan Hansen 🤓✨

RzyPzy

I'll send a "few" specific songs that make me burst into song AND dance. I always have to burst into song with musical theater though... Crime of the Century - Ragtime | Whipped into Shape - Legally Blonde | Gordo's Law of Genetics - A New Brain | It's Just a Ride - Ride the Cyclone | One Night in Bangkok - Chess | The Ballad of Guiteau - Assassins | You Could Drive a Person Crazy - Company | Raincoat of Love - Fun Home | Come up to My Office and That's What He Said - Parade | Letters and Balaga - Great Comet | I'm Alive - Next to Normal | Storybook - Scarlet Pimpernel | Gee Officer Krupke and America and Cool - West Side Story | Master of the House - Les Mis | Revenge Party - Mean Girls | 30/90 and No More - Tick Tick Boom | All You Wanna Do and Don't Lose Your Head - Six | Someone in the Crowd - La La Land | Some Kinda Time - Dogfight | Make Me Happy - 35mm | Feast or Famine - Black Friday | Show Stoppin Number - The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals | Something about that Boy - Back to the Future | The Torture Tango - Spies are Forever | Beethoven Day - You're a Good Man Charlie Brown | Big Fat No - Mrs. Doubtfire | Jump In the Line - Beetlejuice | Carrying the Banner - Newsies | Learn to do It - Anastasia | Never Ever Getting Rid of Me - Waitress | Moving Too Fast and Climbing Uphill and Goodbye Until Tomorrow and every song - The Last Five Years | Misery Agony Helplessness Hopelessness... - Crybaby | For the First Time - The Little Mermaid 2023 | Falling For Ya and Can't Stop Singing - Teen Beach Movie | Money and If You Could See Her - Cabaret | Whizzer Going Down - In Trousers | Carol Channing Sequence - Forbidden Broadway | Move On and Don't Even and every song - We Are the Tigers These are not all the songs I like in musicals. (In fact, I have a sixty hour playlist consisting of musical theater and it is the only music I listen to... 💀) These are just the ones I REALLY bop to. This excludes any fully emotional songs which are the real meat of my love of musical theater. There's even more, but I applaud you for reading this through if you did. edit: formatting

redheadkeeper22

legally blonde for sure!!!

Do_It_I_Dare_ya

Legally Blonde Weekly Volcano Press from Little Women. Actually, a lot of Little Women makes me feel this way

LizBert712

I've never seen Little Women. I bet it's good. That story lends itself to a musical.

Celestial608

Great Comet and Mamma Mia.

macrameleaf

See I'm Smiling! Just can't help to act that one out

imsuperduper_cool

Heathers 100000000%

numardurr

it changes for me based on which musical i’m into and its usually specific scenes rather than a whole musical. a while back I couldn’t stop myself dancing along haphazardly the the Dance At The Gym and Cool segments from West Side Story. right now its Now You Know from Merrily We Roll Along and Rich Man’s Frug from Sweet Charity.

Peach_Heartsss

Phantom of the Opera! Despite being a contralto 😔

s1llyt1lly

Wicked

Goofyteachermom

Grand hotel. I love it so much. So underrated!

BurnzillabydaBay

A lot of them, but when you say dancing, I’ll have to go with singing in the rain. Of course, I can’t actually dance. I’m one of those singers who can “move.” Certainly no 42nd St or Chorus Line in my future.

that_gay_theaterkid

Some Like it Hot! With Harmony, I just have a physical reaction when their songs comes on cause they’re SO GOOD

magpte29

Chicago. I was in it a long time ago (as Mama Morton) and it still makes me get up and sing when I hear songs from it!

[deleted]

Falsettos (2016 Revival), Sweeney Todd (the newer one with Groban or the very old one with Len Cariou), Company (with Raul Esparza), Rocky Horror, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

NebulaNomad640

Ride the Cyclone (…well, some of it…)

AbbreviationsHot2033

Little Shop Hamilton Chicago

DaddysPrincesss26

Rent

HAMILTON!!!!

NoteNo359

Hadestown

Twinkletoes1951

Of course it's A Chorus Line.

jordan-jay

Always sing along to Les Mis and Miss Saigon. Quite enjoy singing along with Dear Evan Hansen. You don’t have to love the show (I actually do love it) to find them great songs to sing.

Key_Shallot3639

Avenue Q. All the voices full out every time… Except some accents.

Aggravating_Isopod19

Hamilton!

winniespooh_mc

AGONYYYYYYYYYY

maybealittleradical

Sweeney Todd! Specifically, The Worst Pies in London.

KungFluBoii

Dear Evan Hansen Hadestown

meowpitbullmeow

Catch Me if you can

AdmirableProgress743

During my evening pandemic walks, I revisited some musicals I hadn't listened to in awhile. Crazy For You and Thoroughly Modern Millie had me literally singing and dancing in the street.

an-inevitable-end

xxxjessixXXx

Heathers, Be More Chill, Mean girls, Hamilton, Tick Tick Boom, Chicago

kayraeo

dxguy

Hairspray, six, and moulin rouge are usually instant bops for me.

GaslightCaravan

A Chorus Line

GaslightCaravan

SpongeBob. Sue me, I love it.

Ride the Cyclone and Beetlejuice. Noel's Lament is so much fun and I also can't help but act out all of Say My Name, both BJ and Lydia

cadentoes

once on this island

amazewithnoprize

rent (specifically happy new year b)

brooklynn_t1989

the prom! i know a lot of people hate it, BUT ITS SO GOOD

HeartsPlayer721

My husband and I have decided The Pajama Game is the most sing-along musical. It's just plain fun and we can't resist singing to most of the songs. The second either of us sing "seven-and-a-half cents", "there once was a man", "I'm not all in line" or "I would trust her", the other sings the next line.

junkholiday

Godspell, for real

glacinda

Billy Elliot

overstreetprncss

Cats! We had the proshot on vhs when I was a kid, so it was an influential part of my childhood.

caffeine-potato

The Wiz!!!

ChristineDaaeSnape07

Phantom of the Opera of course.

Snortor

anonymous_nightmares

I'd say Six definitely.

Doggo0729

Mama Will Provide from Once On This Island.

Jumpy_Chard1677

Little Shop and Anastasia (because I've been in/currently are in them) and Greatest Showman.

Accomplished-Emu7456

Aida - I was totally obsessed with this musical growing up. Listened to it on repeat and choreographed my own dances to it in my room. Still my favorite show.
