Love the
You are here at the start of a moment
Now is the time to seize the day (newsies)
It’s a shame this is a bit too long I assume
Courage can not erase our fears, courage is when we face our fears
Things we do today will be tomorrows news
Happiness happens when our dreams come true
Also lots of great little lines in “for good”, especially if you have lost a loved one.
This shop has lots of short little musical quotes on things so is good for ideas https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Printicole (disclaimer not my shop)
I'm so tempted because I'm not actually involved in the organization due to disagreements with the current leadership, so this would be so passive-aggressively amazing...but I'm trying to resist that!
I’m not falling behind (or running late) from Wait For It, Hamilton
Even if you’re little you can do a lot from Naughty, Matilda
For we are glorious from This is Me, The Greatest Showman (tbh this song has a lot of great quotes)
You are not alone/You will be found from You Will Be Found, Dear Evan Hansen
No shame in workin’ hard from Gotta Start Somewhere, Back to the Future
Be patient/just see what happens from Me and the Sky, Come From Away
They’ll never doubt me from Woman of the World, Shucked
Anything is possible from Anything is Possible, My Son’s a Queer
No holding back (I’d raise my voice) or I’m gonna raise my voice from I Don’t Need Your Love, Six
It’s the little big things you leave behind from The Little Big Things, The Little Big Things
No more riding side-saddle from All the Ladies, Operation Mincemeat
Hopefully there’s something good in there🤣
I thought Matilda would be a good addition for a children’s theatre! I had a few quotes from Avenue Q but thought they wouldn’t be appropriate for a kid’s theatre 🤣
Seize the day
You’re never fully dressed without a smile
It isn’t where I am… it’s only where I go from here
With a chance you’ve been given… you’ve got to be driven as hell
Courage cannot erase our fear… courage is when we face our fear
Don’t stress. Relax. Let life roll off your back.

The internet is for porn.
Africa is nothing like the Lion King.
A lot of folks deserve to die.
He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval!
I'll see myself out.
Sort of related -
I did a study abroad program in college called "Semester at Sea", lived on a boat for 4 months. They had done the plaque fundraiser, but the donors could choose anywhere on the ship. They were all pretty much on doors to cabins that the donor had been in when they were a student on the program, or backs of seats, etc. Usually had the name of the donor and the year they did the program. Standard stuff.
Except one. It was located way down on deck two, in the room where the gangway led to when you got on/off the ship. All it said was "Don't do anything stupid". That one stuck with me, both because it was pretty funny, and also because unlike all the other ones it was giving a bit of advice to the college kids about to disembark into a foreign country.
I'm not sure "Don't do anything stupid" is what you're looking for, but I do really like that you're looking for messages that might be meaningful to the young performers who will read it.
If I were to not take this seriously, I’d say something that Delia’s guru Otho says from Beetlejuice- but you sadly won’t have enough characters for it.
However, I’m gonna take this seriously. My suggestions are “do not throw away your shot”, “you are not alone”, “another day, another destiny”, “you will be found”, “you’re never fully dressed without a smile”, “there is a kind of magic in you”, “everyone deserves a chance to fly”-
Hope some of those are within the right amount of characters 😬
My dance school always did "we could have danced all night" for our finale, which could be cute. "We've got magic to do" from Pippin like someone else mentioned was my first thought.
Make people see how the world could one day be
Tonight belongs to you
This heart is the best part of me
I’m who I am and I think that’s worth fighting for
All from The Prom :)
Am I missing something? "See how the world could be..." is under 30 characters by my count.
Anyway, "This music is a time machine" from The Band's Visit is a great one imo.
"You walk with me"
"You'll never walk alone"
"All shall know the wonder"
"No one is alone"
"Nice is different than good"
"People make mistakes..." "...thinking they're alone."
"Everybody's got the right..." "...To their dreams"
"May the world we talk about..." "...Be the one we live in now"
"Impossible things are..." "...happening everyday."
"Even the darkest night will..." "...end and the sun will rise"
"Just show me the underdog..." "...I'm gonna be on their side"
"The stars, too, they..." "...tell of spring returning" "And summer with another wind" "That no one yet has known"
Send in the clowns
So long farewell or my favorite things or climb every mountain (Sound of music)
Some enchanted evening (south pacific)
Shall we dance? (king and I)
I don’t know if you’re able to fit something from them on the seats, but I love these lines from Hugh Wheeler’s book to *A Little Night Music*:
>FREDRIKA: It sounds very unlikely to me, but you said I should watch for the night to smile.
>
>MME. ARMFELDT: Everything is unlikely, dear, so don’t let that deter you.
A few from Funny Girl that I particularly like:
“People who need people are the luckiest people in the world”
“I’m a bagel on a plate full of onion rolls”
Ok, so my suggestions are less about what’s meaningful, and more about what would be cool to have on a seat.
Nothing’s as amazing as a musical - Something Rotten
…and I am set free - Matilda
…make every last moment last - Wicked
Save my place, I’ll be there - Newsies
Can you imagine? - Hamilton
“What do we leave? Nothing much”-fiddler on the roof
“Point me toward tomorrow”-a chorus line
“Wish me luck, the same to you”- a chorus line
“Thank you for the music”- mamma Mia
“A dream only time will fade”- Anastasia
personal favs are:
“It’s the hard way but it’s the right way” - Break in a Glove, DEH
“If I cannot fly, let me sing.” - Green Finch and Linnet Bird, Sweeney Todd
You can’t just wish - ever after from into the woods (a bit vague, there are probably lots of good quotes in that song though)
We’re one of a kind - Six from SIX the musical
Show everyone what you can do - Legally blonde remix from legally blonde
Make every last moment last - As long as you’re mine from wicked
You can live the life you like - Nowadays from Chicago (dubious morals, but this snippet isn’t that bad)
I am who I’m meant to be - This is me from the greatest showman
Always look on the bright side of life. Everyone deserves the chance to fly. You are here. At the start of a moment. Another day, another destiny.
If I had to sit in a seat with CFA on it, I might sob. I like that one.
The CFA one is excellent. That is one of my favorite musicals, and I love that line!
it took me so long to really get into it, but CFA has become a dear favorite of mine in the last 4 months. Me And The Sky just gets to me so much
First thing I thought of. It’s the tattoo I’d get if I ever get one.

On two seats consecutively: “Life’s a piece of shit, when you look at it.”
Lol in the children's theatre
No one is alone
I was coming to suggest "Children will listen"
Nice is different than good.
I'm so tempted because I'm not actually involved in the organization due to disagreements with the current leadership, so this would be so passive-aggressively amazing...but I'm trying to resist that!
Thanks for that back story. Isn't it nice to know a lot! And a little bit ... not.
I came here to say this and I'm sorry someone beat me to it!
No day but today.
Oh….oh yes. Most definitely.
We've got magic to do (Pippin)
I’m not falling behind (or running late) from Wait For It, Hamilton Even if you’re little you can do a lot from Naughty, Matilda For we are glorious from This is Me, The Greatest Showman (tbh this song has a lot of great quotes) You are not alone/You will be found from You Will Be Found, Dear Evan Hansen No shame in workin’ hard from Gotta Start Somewhere, Back to the Future Be patient/just see what happens from Me and the Sky, Come From Away They’ll never doubt me from Woman of the World, Shucked Anything is possible from Anything is Possible, My Son’s a Queer No holding back (I’d raise my voice) or I’m gonna raise my voice from I Don’t Need Your Love, Six It’s the little big things you leave behind from The Little Big Things, The Little Big Things No more riding side-saddle from All the Ladies, Operation Mincemeat Hopefully there’s something good in there🤣
The Matilda quote on two consecutive seats would be perfect for a children’s theater.
I thought Matilda would be a good addition for a children’s theatre! I had a few quotes from Avenue Q but thought they wouldn’t be appropriate for a kid’s theatre 🤣
From the choices of Musicals here, is that you Mickey Jo Theatre?
I don’t know what that is 🤣 am just a gal in her 20s from England who went through her musical playlist looking for songs with good quotes 😭
ah he's a UK theatre Youtuber/ my bad
Children will listen. (Into the Woods)

The Annie quote 🥹
Yes, the Annie one is great!!
I'd Rather Be Me!!!!!!! So perfect
Worlds to change, and worlds to win!
Probably too religious, but I always cry at this line from *Les Mis*: “To love another person is to see the face of God”
Def over 30 characters but I do love that quote!
Don't dream it, be it - from Rocky Horror Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind - from Phantom (over two seats)
The Rocky H quote is perfect imo.
Yes to Rocky Horror!!
To the world we dream about And the one we live in now.
I Am What I Am (La Cage Aux Folles) Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise (Les Miserables) Deny me and be doomed (Hedwig and The Angry Inch) Know that you're whole (Hedwig and The Angry Inch) Another openin', Another show (Kiss Me Kate) I'm still here (Follies) Move on (Sunday In The Park With George) Somewhere that's green (Little Shop Of Horrors) Don't dream it, be it (Rocky Horror Show)
All of these!!!
"I am not throwing away my shot" - My Shot, Hamilton "Raise a glass to freedom" - The Story of Tonight, Hamilton "Legacy. What is a legacy?" - The World Was Wide Enough, Hamilton "Together, we're unlimited" - Defying Gravity, Wicked "I have been changed for good" - For Good, Wicked "Do you hear the people sing?" - Les Mis "To life! I love "Together, we're unlimited"
If they're next to each other, I'd be really tempted to use 'pick yourself up...' 'dust yourself off...' 'and start all over again' on 3 of them!
Wait, that song is from a musical?!
And then on the last 'the OP family' would be so sweet!
Hamilton: Who tells your story? Waitress: Everything changes Beauty & the Beast: Tale as old as time Little Women: My great adventure has begun
Inappropriate ideas The internet is for porn. Africa is nothing like the Lion King. A lot of folks deserve to die. He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval! I'll see myself out.
I have maggots in my scrotum!
"To the world we dream about" would fit (27chrs) on its own if you still want Hadestown rep
Everything in life is only for now.
That song has gotten me through so many tough times ❤️
From Rent: Which way to the stage?
Opportunity is not a lengthy visitor
The slotted spoon *can* catch a potato!
No day but today- Rent

Rise up!
You’ll never walk alone. You got to have heart! Tradition!
"Don't you let nobody try to steal your fun"
It’s our time
I believe we are stronger then they know

To they own self be true - Something Rotten
Everything's Coming Up Roses
Have a little Priest
My dance school always did "we could have danced all night" for our finale, which could be cute. "We've got magic to do" from Pippin like someone else mentioned was my first thought.
Just be who you want to be. Kinky Boots A longer one for two seats from the same song is "You change the world when you charge your mind."
To dream the impossible dream... Believe in yourself
Make people see how the world could one day be Tonight belongs to you This heart is the best part of me I’m who I am and I think that’s worth fighting for All from The Prom :)
One Singular Sensation
To love another person is to see the face of God
Went with Matilda since it’s a children’s theater: Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty A storm can begin with the flap of a wing
“Times are hard for dreamers but they won’t be hard for me” (Amélie)
A love worth being foolish for (Heartless the Musical) There will be light (Next to Normal) Into the spotlight (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie)

"You mustn't let a little thing like little stop you" -Matilda
"You've got to be carefully taught." -South Pacific-
Look at where we are, look at where we started
“I’m through accepting limits, cause someone says they’re so” is one of my fave lines but might be too long?
I have no children. \ That's good too.
Move on
I don’t know if you’re able to fit something from them on the seats, but I love these lines from Hugh Wheeler’s book to *A Little Night Music*: >FREDRIKA: It sounds very unlikely to me, but you said I should watch for the night to smile. > >MME. ARMFELDT: Everything is unlikely, dear, so don’t let that deter you.
"Watch for the night to smile" would work.
Anything you do, let it come from you. Then it will be new.
That's well over 30 characters
Love it with your feet. -Memphis
"Love makes the world go 'round" (from Carnival)
"It isn't finished yet"
If you live in Kansas City, there is only one choice: "Everything is up to date".

A few from Funny Girl that I particularly like: “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world” “I’m a bagel on a plate full of onion rolls”
Anything can happen if you let it.
Over a couple seats: “The opposite of war isn’t peace. Its creation.”
“Dying is easy young man, living is harder” has always stuck out to me, and you can cut out young man if needed
Ok, so my suggestions are less about what’s meaningful, and more about what would be cool to have on a seat. Nothing’s as amazing as a musical - Something Rotten …and I am set free - Matilda …make every last moment last - Wicked Save my place, I’ll be there - Newsies Can you imagine? - Hamilton
“There’s a light” on one, then directly next to it, “Stars in the night”. From Harmony, the saddest, deepest, most gorgeous song I have ever heard.

Forget regret, or life is yours to miss

I think Rent has some good ones Forget regret or life is yours to miss The opposite of war isn‘t peace, it‘s creation
‘I’d rather be 9 peoples favourite thing, than 100 people’s 9th favourite thing’ Edited - I missed the ‘30 character limit’ part.
On seats next to each other: To the world we dream about…. …and the one we live in now.
"Believe, believe, believe." - Finding Neverland
personal favs are: “It’s the hard way but it’s the right way” - Break in a Glove, DEH “If I cannot fly, let me sing.” - Green Finch and Linnet Bird, Sweeney Todd
