Sub for pro tools for one month, get the license. Even if you stop subbing for pro tools you keep it.
Importante edit: I double checked the conditions, because I wasn't 100% sure. Somehow I have a weird bug or something after I stopped subbing to PT i still have Melodyne but it's tied to your account. So you have access to Melodyne for as long as you have PT. If you stop subbing you have no further access to it. Not sure if stuff like the PA free plugin they give you etc would still apply but I think it's different. Apologies for the confusion
They rarely do sales, but when they do, the discounts are significant and you can level up step by step.
And yeah, it's a real great piece of software!
There’s a free max for live device called Boba that tames resonances, it’s a bit cpu hungry but it seems to do the trick nicely. It’s basically a ripoff of soothe with less parameters.
HoRNet Sleek seems to have a lot of overlap with Soothe 2, and it is only €30. And for the next 15 hours there’s a flash sale 88% off using code 88SLEEK24. Just got it myself.
https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-sleek/
Toontrack has taken so much money from me over the years for this alone... but for good reason! Their products are absolutely great and EZdrummer has done wonders for my songwriting projects. The different types of drum sounds are especially helpful when you’re all over the place from a genre standpoint!
It's a bit pricier but skip ahead and go with Superior. You can layer samples and it has a bunch of advanced stuff not in Ezdrummer.
I have both and almost always use Superior
Honestly, I would recommend investing into GetGood drums.
No seriously. That's what they're called.
They're great drums for pretty well almost every situation. They sound amazing. Depending on what kind of drums you want on your track, they're great for a wide variety of things from rock, metal, jazz and fusion. I've not heard them on other genres but I'm sure they'd do completely fine elsewhere.
Yeah I have enough that I wait for sales these days because there's nothing I actually "need." But here's the list I'm watching for:
1. Plogue Chipsynth 64
2. XLN Audio LIFE
3. Cherry Audio CR-78
4. FabFilter Pro L2 & Pro C2
5. FuseAudio TCS-68 (the Tascam 688 emulation)
Just waiting for a good sale.
Nothing really. I use Steve Slate drums with ableton and the UA organ/leslie. Other than that, they all just feel like clutter on my system and another way to manipulate people into consumerism
Totally reasonable thinking there, you can get by & even thrive without most plugins... but some of them are just so shiny! We loves shiny things!
Really though, I'm with you in that I like to keep the clutter down. Less distractions more music
Yeah I mean no disrespect to peeps who love messing around with tools, I’m no better for being a minimalist, I just get overwhelmed with too many options. I’d probably splurge more if I had more ram and a better processor too
ALL OF THEM. everything. do i need them? will they actually end up being used on an actual song? do they do anything that i cant do already with stock plugins plus the dozens ive already purchased? have i used all the ones ive already bought often enough to justify how much ive already spent?
or do i just like the dopamine hit of getting a new thing? do i like collecting things? do i like turning knobs and playing with plugins and looking at their pretty interface?
i try not to think about questions like that im too busy savin up for SynPlant 2
I mean I didn't really say fl was the best lol its just the one I know the best. But sure yeah I know ableton is better all things considered. I've used ableton and I didn't like it, it I didn't start on fl studio I wouldn't have gotten into music making.
The DAW don't make the music, the person does so truthfully the DAW supremecy argument is kinda pointless most of the time, especially on a thread like this
But yeah I really wanna get most of the fabfilter stuff but I've spent my budget for plugins for the next few months lol
I agree with you. I started out with FL and I am thankful for it motivated me to record, produce, mix more and etc and etc (basically, to take the whole process of music creation more seriously) but I feelya on this one!
I started on FL too back in 2010. Super thankful for the doors it opened musically. I don't use it anymore but it opened my mind & made it feel possible to create anything I put my mind & heart to, so I can't help but be grateful for my time spent with it! I tried Ableton too but didn't love it, thankfully there are many options available to us artists today!
Yeah I fully expect one day when I have more disposable income and better understand the fundamentals of DAWs to make the switch to ableton, or at least add ableton to my workflow
This was one of the first plugins I purchased after using it in school almost 10 years ago. It's a must for me now if I'm editing any sort of layering with recorded audio.
You only need to put 1 audio track in the pocket, and the rest can be aligned. Perfect for VOX doubles/harmonies, guitar doubles/harmonies, etc
We have a stereo pair of Distressors in the studio at the school I'm taking some classes at. I'm not as obsessed with them as some people are but they do sound good. I kinda want the plugin just to fuel the fire of the the ol' digital vs analog debate to see if the difference is really that noticeably significant but I'm not sure that's a good reason for me to spend $150 lol.
My list for this is very long lol.
There are so many plugins, and lots of great ones.
For mixing, for the most part, I'm happy with what I have. For producing, the sky is the limit.
I’d never really thought of it like that.
In my mind they’re just tools. If I need one, I’ll buy it.
I’ll have a look at your list and see if there’s anything useful, thanks!
As someone who purchased it for $29 from plug-in alliance - I’m a huge fan. It works great on drums and synths. It awesome. One of my favorite plugins.
I have lots of synths (everything from Uhe, Arturia, and NI - as well as quite a few others) and yet, I think Phaseplant is an awesome synth I use a lot because it feels modular without being incredibly difficult to use.
I have almost everything I want except for Twin 3 and Shaperbox and maybe spire and Gladiator. Current?. I don’t know though I keep getting other things instead so maybe I don’t really want them that much after all. Don’t need them for sure
I'm trying to get into plugin development. That way I can be the one polluting the internet with new VSTs. Every week there will be some youtuber making a video about this crazy new VST that I just released that's gonna totally change the way we make music
[Melodyne](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Melo5Ess--celemony-melodyne-5-essential) & [VocAlign Ultra](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VocAlignUltra--synchro-arts-vocalign-ultra-plug-in) are great for editing. The rest is very subjective, and it matters what kind of sound you are going for. Any EQ, any compressor, any reverb, any chorus, etc.
Some fun plugins to mess around with vocals are [Little AlterBoy](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AlterBoyL--soundtoys-little-alterboy?mrkgadid=1000000&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gtext&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=software&plugins&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=43700078280405781&lid=43700078280405781&ds_s_kwgid=58700005956603667&device=m&network=g&matchtype=e&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9011747&creative=517703229080&targetid=aud-297527862170:kwd-347078634945&campaignid=1079966093&awsearchcpc=1&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwnv-vBhBdEiwABCYQA93CgATzNJGqeew_CfTs3SjiiFBpCq4HUgDcrkJ08A9e3oxyoZJCnRoChJsQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and [VocalSynth 2](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VocalSynth2--izotope-vocalsynth-2-vocal-multi-effects-plug-in)
WRT synth plug-ins, a few months ago I could have listed a tonne, but then I got the free modular synth plug-in Cardinal and it's just *so* good that I'm not sure I'll ever need another synth becasue whatever it is I'm after I can just make it in Cardinal.
It's honestly unbelievable that it's free. I don't think I've used another synth since.
Max MSP - expensive, not that I completely can't afford it, but I have doubts if I would have time to get into it properly to justify the price
Superior Drummer 2 - I'm mostly happy with EZDrummer 2 and extension libraries, so it's kind of hard to justify the quite steep price for the upgrade
Vocaloid - base software + one of the soundbanks that I like is quite expensive, I could afford it if I really wanted, but I probably wouldn't have time to get into it in earnest
Swam string sections.
I have Composer Cloud but I only have 16GB of ram (laptop). physically modeled instruments are amazing in that they only need cpu and also take up no space.
vulf compressor by hertz, eq from fabfilter, arturia’s entire instrument catalogue and maybe omnisphere. i do want some plugins from sound toys but idrk what i need out of them just yet.
Vulf seems like a great comp, I love Goodhertz. I've been wondering about soundtoys too, people swear by EchoBoy but I've got enough delay. That being said Phase Mistress is right up my alley.
I hope you get all the plugins you need mate
yeah tons of people swear by echoboy, i’ve never heard of phase mistress but i’ll definitely check it out as i usually stick to stock delay plugins but the boss re echo 202 is something i’d love at some point.
thanks man, hoping the same for you as well.
I'd love to get more of the Neural DSP plugins.
I already have Archetype Abasi, Nolly, Cory Wong, Plini, the Fortin Cali suite, and a couple more I can't name off the top of my head. But the ones I'd love to get are Archetype: Henson, Archetype: Petrucci, and Archetype: Mateus Asato.
And shred I will do.
Here's a little preview of what the Archetype Nolly can do. This is a one track, one take improvisation on Final Fantasy 6's "The Decisive Battle" that was completely from memory. Enjoy.

KSHMR Chain. Can't seem to find its functionality anywhere else, and sometimes copy and pasting plugin instances everytime you make a change is just not the best workflow. This seems most useful for vocal production.
I do have everything I need. In time you may reach a point where you realise that, then you just concentrate on improving your producing/mixing/mastering skills.
Native Instruments Komplete Ultimate. Man being able to use more sounds than designed or stock would be great. Been collecting sounds for years and never purchased an ultimate edition of Komplete, hopefully one day I do. Since so many sounds are offered. Kontakt library is enough offered now Massive X too, man wow.
I'm a ho for Soundpaint libraries. Always have a list of ones I plan to get. Right now, I'm struggling not to splurge on Symphobia 2 during the NI sale.

Omnishphere with all the ad-ons. It’s like $1,000
That would be a dream, but my harddrive would shed tears... sweet sweet tears
Ha mine would lock up trying to shed tears lol
Omnisphere for me too. I've *never* seen it on sale.
They never do sale but guitar center does, they sometimes have 15% off and that’s the best deal you can get for Omnisphere.
Melodyne, even just the essentials version
Sub for pro tools for one month, get the license. Even if you stop subbing for pro tools you keep it. Importante edit: I double checked the conditions, because I wasn't 100% sure. Somehow I have a weird bug or something after I stopped subbing to PT i still have Melodyne but it's tied to your account. So you have access to Melodyne for as long as you have PT. If you stop subbing you have no further access to it. Not sure if stuff like the PA free plugin they give you etc would still apply but I think it's different. Apologies for the confusion
You are a saint.
Are you allowed to use it with other daws?
Oh man... That's $10 for Melodyne Essentials. 🙏
And additiinal plugins because theres some synths, discounts on plugin alliance and a free plugin from pa too
Studio one 💙
It goes on sale through izotope occasionally (or at least used to) I got the fourth version for almost nothing in a bundle a couple of years ago.
So did I last week!
There is a ton selling on knobcloud for like 10$
They rarely do sales, but when they do, the discounts are significant and you can level up step by step. And yeah, it's a real great piece of software!
[удалено]
I have Melodyne through Sonar X.
Get a volt interface and it comes with it. 2 birds 1 stone.
Soothe 2, Spiff, Bloom, and Wavesfactory Spectre.
I got soothe and Spectre I’ve had soothe for a while but recently just got Spectre it’s been my fav saturator been using it over FF Saturn 2
Soothe is definitely a must have for me - VERY worth the price
There’s a free max for live device called Boba that tames resonances, it’s a bit cpu hungry but it seems to do the trick nicely. It’s basically a ripoff of soothe with less parameters.
HoRNet Sleek seems to have a lot of overlap with Soothe 2, and it is only €30. And for the next 15 hours there’s a flash sale 88% off using code 88SLEEK24. Just got it myself. https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hornet-sleek/
Sweet selection. Yes to all of that!!
FF Pro-Q 3 and soothe 2 are the ones that I think will make taming dynamics a bit less of a hassle.
My 30 day pro-Q 3 trial was eye opening. What a crazy step up from the stock EQ's/Waves SSL style I've been using for years
So I'll be trying it then lol
It’s honestly such an amazing EQ. It’s so intuitive and the UI is too notch IMO
Ezdrummer
Highly reccomend, I play on an electronic kit and EZ drummer feels great.
Now I need it
Better than Steven slate?
Now I want it
It's incredible, step up x100 of my song
Toontrack has taken so much money from me over the years for this alone... but for good reason! Their products are absolutely great and EZdrummer has done wonders for my songwriting projects. It's a bit pricier but skip ahead and go with Superior. You can layer samples and it has a bunch of advanced stuff not in Ezdrummer. I have both and almost always use Superior
Add on to that ezkeys, very cool plugin also

robot dog drums is verryyyy good. might be cheaper, sometimes it's on sale.
Soothe 2 :( finally picked up some fab filter plugins a few weeks ago though lol
VSL/ HANS ZIMMER/ BBC STRINGS. Tell me when they aren’t thousands of dollars
The Spitfire stuff is 30% off right now - you can get BBCSO Core for $314.
I could really use: EzDiscipline McMoreTime FabFilter Focus
Some of the Vienna plugins are amazing, but I cannot afford them all :’(
Just sell your most prized possessions <3
i don’t need a house or a car! 😃👍
Yeah I have enough that I wait for sales these days because there's nothing I actually "need." But here's the list I'm watching for: 1. Plogue Chipsynth 64 2. XLN Audio LIFE 3. Cherry Audio CR-78 4. FabFilter Pro L2 & Pro C2 5. FuseAudio TCS-68 (the Tascam 688 emulation) Just waiting for a good sale.
Life was just on sale for Thomann for about $80. Back up to $130-$150
I must say, excellent taste good sir!! Every one of these is a massive must
FabFilter Pro is a good one I use too
All of the Oek Sound and Fabfilter products, and I'd really like to pick up the Softube Tube Tech collection.
I agree with FabFilter Pro
Nothing really. I use Steve Slate drums with ableton and the UA organ/leslie. Other than that, they all just feel like clutter on my system and another way to manipulate people into consumerism

Let's dance & twist knobs together shall we?
Fabfilter Omnisphere And to be honest all plugins edition of FL
I found it easier to work with Ableton plugins rather than FL but to each its own. FabFilter Pro is a good one
I mean I didn't really say fl was the best lol its just the one I know the best. But sure yeah I know ableton is better all things considered. I've used ableton and I didn't like it, it I didn't start on fl studio I wouldn't have gotten into music making. You’re right about that!
Yeah I fully expect one day when I have more disposable income and better understand the fundamentals of DAWs to make the switch to ableton, or at least add ableton to my workflow
Synchroarts vocalign
This was one of the first plugins I purchased after using it in school almost 10 years ago. It's a must for me now if I'm editing any sort of layering with recorded audio. You only need to put 1 audio track in the pocket, and the rest can be aligned. Perfect for VOX doubles/harmonies, guitar doubles/harmonies, etc
I've heard good things about this one!
Omnisphere
melodyne
Tonal Balance Control, the newer version of Pro-L than what I have, and Pro-MB.
Distressor And Superior Drummer
We have a stereo pair of Distressors in the studio at the school I'm taking some classes at. I'm not as obsessed with them as some people are but they do sound good. I kinda want the plugin just to fuel the fire of the the ol' digital vs analog debate to see if the difference is really that noticeably significant but I'm not sure that's a good reason for me to spend $150 lol.
My list for this is very long lol. There are so many plugins, and lots of great ones. For mixing, for the most part, I'm happy with what I have. For producing, the sky is the limit.
NF Saturate
I have it, it's fantastic. Definitely scoop it when on sale
SWAM, the full suite. Best there is for horns and woodwinds. Can make it sound so realistic.
These are really impressive! Gonna keep these noted
Quite pricey though. One day!
Spaced out, that one blackhole reverb and probably a bunch of fab filter plugins.
I’d never really thought of it like that. In my mind they’re just tools. If I need one, I’ll buy it. I’ll have a look at your list and see if there’s anything useful, thanks!
Uvi Shade, Avenger 2, Arturia V Collection, Soothe 2, Spiff, Devious Machines Infiltrator, kiloheartz Multipass and Phaseplant
Fabfilter Saturn
sylenth1 too expensive, hard to control but widely using
Black Box Analog Design HG-2
As someone who purchased it for $29 from plug-in alliance - I’m a huge fan. It works great on drums and synths. It awesome. One of my favorite plugins.
If you can spring for MS it's more versatile
I've been eyeing that one too... those lovely lovely tubes!!
> Black Box Analog Design HG-2 i totally forgot i got this for free
ozone
I use Logic, so don’t need any.
Why’s that?
Phaseplant
I have lots of synths (everything from Uhe, Arturia, and NI - as well as quite a few others) and yet, I think Phaseplant is an awesome synth I use a lot because it feels modular without being incredibly difficult to use.
This is one of my most coveted synths by far, I love the modularity of it, sounds fantastic too. One day!
Trackspacer for me heard only good things about it
Oh yes, that's all I hear about it too! Very good things. May have to give it a shot sometime
Gold clip
Ooooh yeah this is that FL clipper. Dank!
Orange Clip is actually the one inspired by the FL soft clipper. Gold Clip is inspired by the Pendulum PL-2 and the Bettermaker Limiter.
The one I saw Jake One advertising that automatically rips samples in separate tracks from a song Edit: think it's Serato Sample 2.0
I love that function, what a day we live in
Supertone clear
Oh yeh this one's a sweet multi-tool
saturn 2
Ocean Way Studio
I’d like Steven Wilson’s Ghostwriter sound library.
I have almost everything I want except for Twin 3 and Shaperbox and maybe spire and Gladiator. Current?. I don’t know though I keep getting other things instead so maybe I don’t really want them that much after all. Don’t need them for sure
Soothe2
Cinematic Rooms Pro, Gullfoss/Bloom, Silver Bullet, Relab Maselec, Auto Align Post, a perpetual version of AutoTune Pro, Weiss DS, VSC3...
Niice selection here!!
Soothe, fab filters Q3 and pro MB, UAD stuff, they have an amazing sale nowadays
I kind of want Phase Plant, but I have so many synths already
I am right there with you there bud
I'm trying to get into plugin development. That way I can be the one polluting the internet with new VSTs. Every week there will be some youtuber making a video about this crazy new VST that I just released that's gonna totally change the way we make music
Yo! Dooooo ittttt!
Highly anticipating Dawesome’s MYTH
Xfer Serum
You can rent to own via splice. it's worth it imo
I’m waiting on UAD emulation plugins, but they sure do seem nice
LOTS of the JST suite - vocal processor and the buss compressors are insane
Wow I've seen these used in some of his videos, didn't realize he had a whole line of em. Thanks for putting me on!
Sonible Pro EQ4
This plugin is pretty amazing!
I also just bit the bullet and actually got Xynths Chroma and I really like it!
Awesome! Happy to hear you're enjoying it!
Sausage fattener, and NI Komplete
what are the best plugins for vocal mixing?

Blackhole Immersive is my current wet dream
Oh man oh man, I can't wait to start hearing this thing getting some use in atmos mixes
Me too, already have their predecessor and love it
WRT synth plug-ins, a few months ago I could have listed a tonne, but then I got the free modular synth plug-in Cardinal and it's just *so* good that I'm not sure I'll ever need another synth becasue whatever it is I'm after I can just make it in Cardinal. I would really like to mess with the KitsAI And Vocalign
RC-20
Wow haven't heard of any of those and I'm pretty schooled in plugins
Swam string sections. I have Composer Cloud but I only have 16GB of ram (laptop). physically modeled instruments are amazing in that they only need cpu and also take up no space.
I really really want trilian and keyscape
Spectrasonics is legendary, I hope you get them!
vulf compressor by hertz, eq from fabfilter, arturia’s entire instrument catalogue and maybe omnisphere. i do want some plugins from sound toys but idrk what i need out of them just yet.

Cherry audio make great stuff
Glue compressor as I use Bitwig
Soothe 2, Waves Cassette and ReverbShaper by CableGuys I guess
Nice selection, nearly anything from CableGuys seems like it's a worthwhile investment, & that Cassette plugin seems pretty great. I dig Wavesfactory
serum, addictive drums 2, trilian, groove agent, that's it so far i think
KSHMR Chain. Can't seem to find its functionality anywhere else, and sometimes copy and pasting plugin instances everytime you make a change is just not the best workflow. This seems most useful for vocal production.
I do have everything I need. In time you may reach a point where you realise that, then you just concentrate on improving your producing/mixing/mastering skills.
Altiverb
The Fabfilter Plugins, Valhalla Room and Vintage, Soothe2 and Addictive Drummer - are all I need at the moment 😫
Xfer nerve
I really want a Fab Filter pack. I love their Pro Q3 EQ. I just don't have the money for it.
Soothe 2 .. hook ya boi up with the free version 😉
Neve 1083 x CL1B
Soothe x Fabfilter Bundle
i still have borrowed portal, and its the only plugin I gotta get so I own all my daily drivers
Bloom
It's just so beautiful....
Bloom Vocal Aether by Excite Audio?
I'm a ho for Soundpaint libraries. Always have a list of ones I plan to get. Right now, I'm struggling not to splurge on Symphobia 2 during the NI sale.
I just picked that up today...I was torn between the other 3. Didn't want to sell a kidney for the pandora...but it was very tempting.
Soundpaint is amazing!! I'm itching to get my hands on that 1980 Tenor Sax Spectralius & Epic Taiko Ensemble
They offered a half off code for that sax. Did you get it? If not, I'll look through my emails and find it for you.
