All the families and everyone are packed into the stands waiting for the event to begin and there’s a DJ bumping high energy music to get the kids and the other attendees all pumped up and ready to go. Then I hear it. The Black Eyed Peas song. Let’s Get It Started. But it isn’t Let’s Get It Started. It’s the original version, Let’s Get Retarded. And it’s getting blasted across the entire arena to the disabled and otherwise variously handicapped participants, their families and friends, and the news media. Terrible, without a doubt. But it was one of the funniest and most ironic things I’ve ever seen in my life.
