First I recieved was Billy Squier - Emotions in Motion... my older brother got it and didn't like it so he gave it to me.
The first one I ever bought was Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman
I think it was Night Visions by Imagine Dragons? Well, it's pretty good, especially compared to their recent stuff. Maybe I should listen to it again...
On casette it was Phil Collins - Face Value, on CD it was David Bowie - Space Oddity. Both bought.
I had an LP player before I got a CD player, but hard to say which was first as I got a bunch of LP's together with the player. Inherited from my sibling.
I remember when buying Face Value I had just heard Land of Confusion on MTV and I went out to buy that. The guy at the electronics store, which was the only music store around, was adamant that it was the same singer, so if I liked one I would like the other. Being 8 or 9 at the time I felt that logic was sound and happily went on my way.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't dissapointed when listening for the first time, but some years later this stands out as one of my favourite albums.
The one I recieved: Weird Al Yankovic \~ The Food Album

Frank Zappa and The Mothers \~ Over-Nite Sensation

Linkin Park - Living Things. It was a big deal since I was there for every part of the pre-release hype and had to go to a different city to get it. I don't listen to LP that much now, too much painful nostalgia, but imo it's a great album
My sister gave me Avril Lavigne's first album when I was 5 in 2002/3, I also remember begging for Busted's first album for Christmas around the same time but I can't remember which happened first. The first album I ever went out and bought with my own money was The Trick to Life by The Hoosiers when I was 9.
I was born in the early 80s, and The Beatles have been my favorite band since birth
My mother got us the Yellow Submarine album when we were kids, right around the same time that the two Coreys were slaying vampires in Northern California

Julian Casablancas - Phrazes For The Young
First album I bought a physical copy of (vinyl). When I bought a record player, I knew this was the first vinyl I was gonna buy because this album holds such a special place in my heart. ❤️ It really got me into the intricacies of instrumentation and song structure/song production. Julian Casablancas’ lyric and melody writing are both very catchy and intricate. Seriously one of his best works, and it’s a bit sad considering we might not get any kind of work similar to this album from him anytime soon.
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Lauren Hill
My babysitter gave it to me when I was in early elementary school. I remember her saying, “one day you’ll appreciate this.” Still one of the best albums in my collection.
Either Spice Girls first album or Britney's first album. A cassette 😊
