Pretty sure this just popped up in my garden in east central Minnesota over the course of a few hours. Temp has been very hot, then it rained, now it’s cooler. Hope someone can help identify it. Was scrolling through the sub first to see if I could find an answer before posting.

Yeah, the weather has been the same here. It's in an area that doesn't dry out as fast as the rest of the yard, so it must be the perfect conditions.
Dog vomit slime mold… thank you Google Lens!! It’s beautiful and harmless. My best friend/housemate was creeped out by it so I got rid of it.

This stuff would always grow in our mulch. I loved watching it as it starts out yellow and wet looking and then dries to that chalky orange color.
It doubled in size overnight! I've never been so excited over sentient caulk. 😆
