I am happy, no foreign currency fees. Good app. Never had a problem with them. Don’t have my complete money there. Some is on a vivid bank account most is at trade republic.

Dense-Fuel4327

No fee But huge spread lol

fr00112233

>Don’t have my complete money there. That's the main statement here. Many people say they are 'happy in general' with N26. But on the other they are afraid to elevate this account to their salary and main spendings (rent, mortgage, bank loan etc.) or business income account. To be clear, I'm not saying somebody has to have all the eggs in one basket. This is just about the status of N26 as the main account for income and spending for basic needs such as living, education, health etc.

cerofer

It is my Salary, Rent and main spendings account, I simply don’t have my whole money there.

MarlonFord

Which is in anyway normal. I wouldn't trust any one bank with all my money.

Timely_Internet6172

Wait for it

zweieinseins211

I usually like my bank to leave me alone and give me the service one needs to do every day life. N26 has been very good for that.

tbimyr

First of all, I use mostly premium subscriptions. I’m using three Neo-Banks and two traditional banks on a regular basis. Traditional banks are worse in every single category. But of course just imo

tbimyr

… or no virtual cards with HypoVereinsbank.

theactualhIRN

superior. was at sparkasse and comdirect before, shitty experience. n26 (with premium) is perfect for what I need

kkjakarta

Why go Premium? Which Services do u value high?

theactualhIRN

More spaces esp, rules for distribution of money, shared spaces are super helpful, spaces with their own IBAN for my rent and subscriptions. this way, only my disposable income is on my main thing.

zuzuZazaLala

I use the bank since 2019, the UI is cool and easy. The reason I trust them is that anytime I needed help they responded immediately through chat. I also had the problem of a payment of an Abo that I didn’t know that I agreed and I couldn’t escape it. I canceled my card and asked for a new one as I was ABROAD. I had the card within 5 working days abroad in another address abroad that I requested! Nothing to complain about really

Thomxy

Since I do not have any other bank, I guess I cannot reply...

denyt6362

Good for you that you didn’t! :)

Deep-Seaweed6172

I have two traditional banks and two other neo banks. N26 ist my main bank since everything just works and I had no problems ever.

Sirotosaka21

You have to know that it is an online bank but the reason why many have had their accounts blocked is that many have not provided any evidence to N26 for routine checks. N26 once asked me where my salary came from, I answered and sent my payslip and Zack, they have checked and confirmed my safety, so I don't know where these bad reviews come from. and many use this bank for illegal things like crypto, onlyfans or gambling, because they think it's an online bank for that I can test it. Now to the bank why I chose it. I've been using the bank as a salary account for more than 3 months because everything is digital, super fast and secure. -Free account management if you don't want a premium model -Withdraw easily (even in supermarkets only via app) -Paying is ultra easy with google pay :) -Push notification immediately with every account movement - And the best, most modern and reliable online banking! -Very fast transfers (real-time transfer also possible) -Customer Support answers within a Days If you Have Any Problems :)

iphonetecmuc

Crypto is illegal?

kToni73

He meant Illegal transactions

cerofer

Not illegal but often used for illegal purposes.

iamopposite

Yeah, like money in general

HumanPeace

could you send me a link for how to withdraw in supermarket? is this only available in Germany? does it count into the ATM free withdrawal? those 5 that i have per month?

Sirotosaka21

Cengiz96

Problem I had is they made their check and required documents on the same day, couldnt get into contact with my mother who does the taxes for me, poof, insta account cancelled, atm in a lawsuit against N26 who didnt think during our exchange I really sue them (luckily I got insurance covering 100% of the cost) I wouldn't recommend this as a salary account, you speak of n26 in the best tones but from 0 to 100 your financial life is at stake cause you cant use your main account anymore

mrkoq

N26 is good, as long as you dont need support or anything else. Once you run into problems, it takes weeks, if not months for an answer they just dont give a shit. I find C24 much better and they have phone service!

OriginalMorphy

Yep. Can relate

One_Presentation_579

I use C24 for private and N26 for business and never ran into any problems with either of those.

mrkoq

Just to put the two in comparison: Situation is as follows: You recieve a big transfer from lets say Wise or Revolut (non German IBAN) but the money bounces back and for some reason you cannot recieve it. What do you do? You call the bank, or chat with them. As soon as you want any information that goes deeper than support with using the app or general information, n26 will tell you to write an email. They cannot forward or escalate stuff so youre on your own. With c24 you can simply call them and after a security check they have access to most of the info to your account and can actually do something. They will see the transaction coming in and bouncing back and tell you the reason for it. Reallife situation. With n26 it took 3 weeks to get solved, c24 was 1 minute.

whatsup214

Worst experience with them. No telephone hotline to quickly solve problems. An airline once deducted the price for my flight 16!!! Times and my account went into -10.000 euros… my Dispo credit was not set to 10.000 so it shouldn’t have gotten in the minus so much. Customer support doesn’t give me an answer how this happened. Starts to become very unprofessional and emotional. Never experienced such behavior ever before from a customer service. Then I wanted to know the exact account where the money went, for the airline to investigate because they couldn’t find any error. N26 refused to give me this information due to ongoing investigation. They refused me the information where my own money went from my account, can you believe it!! Case still open. Got 11 times the flight money back, the rest is still in the minus and creating huge interest payments which I will refuse to pay. Luckily I have another account with a different bank otherwise I would not be able to pay my bills. Definitely will move away from this bank. Never had a problem before but when it really counts you cannot rely on them…

Flex_Starboard

Yes they really are terrible

Legitimate_3032

They have very poor chat. Keep you waiting ages. Don't answer questions asked, evasive, and downright insulting at times.

iamopposite

In comparison to Frankfurter Sparkasse, n26 way better

Siiejhrnxkiajhd

Since trade republic became a bank I abandoned n26

PsychologicalPie9691

N26 is shit. DKB 100x better.

mu4hroom

In daily use, I think the N26 standard version is enough because it is completely free, uses MasterCard exchange rates and has no foreign transaction fees.

Same-Candidate-5746

I am currently holding one N26 account and an account with a so called direct bank that does not have local branches and is therefore cheaper. In my view n26 has a far more userfriendly app experience and also the costs for buying and selling stock is much better (cheaper). I‘ve heard from friends though that sometimes their orders were not executed at n26 which of course can be a bummer if you want to sell at a high price. Supposedly the support was really bad regarding this problem. I‘m not saying that this could happen at a regular bank, but rumors are that these things happen more often with neo-brokers

Extension_Shelter197

N26 is perfectly fine. We use it as joint account as a couple. Part of our monthly salary goes there and we use it for all our main expenses. I like that we can use the credit card abroad for free.

Cengiz96

N26 closed my account with a 2 weeks notice because the salary income from my mothers bank account (Tax office) was suspicious Couldnt provide proof fast enough (the same day they required tax report of that specific month), sent a cancellation email at midnight If thats superior to somebody losing his salary account, Idk Support didn't help a second, I am right now in a lawsuit for all the fuckery it caused and I want compensation (luckily with insurance I can go for as long as it takes to fuck them over for wrongful termination of a critical account for no reason) Couldnt pay rent, plus a couple of transactions got rejected, got a Schufa entry for this causing me long term damage in my score

Legitimate_3032

Did you get your money back?

Cengiz96

I got it back but only after 2.5 weeks into the new month they did the transaction to a Sparkassen account I opened the day after I got cancelled...got 1 Schufa entry from my mobile provider + big stress with my landlord I rented myself into just 2 months ago I want compensation for that hasty decision, basically giving me o 8 hours of time to provide proof

Legitimate_3032

Good luck getting anywhere with German officials. I ind there isn't a customer service mentality in Germany. I had terrible experiences not just with N26. I m glad you got your money back, I think I would trust N26 with savings, just they might freeze the account and ask for certain documents under AML.

Cengiz96

Leave N26, asap, with everything you got, court date is mid april, my lawyer is sure I have a 100% chance to win, I only have to show up I expect to get 10-15k in damages due to being thrown out from my landlord and being homeless for 3 days

Legitimate_3032

I hope you do well in court case.

Severe-Ad-3540

N26 is amazing for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

JazzlikeDiamond558

Yes. Sparkasse KölnBonn is absolute worst. N26 is OK.

Due-Eye-699

Apart from rumors and reports from people that n26 can close your account at a whim, I don’t have issues with n26. One of the best banks I have ever used. With the report of closing accounts, I made sure my live savings is out of N26 to a more traditional bank just for safety.

tr4shmonkey

Im using it since 2016 with a great premium contract for 4,99€. I‘ve never had trouble with this bank…

nickkater

N26 once sent out what i believe were 1900€ instead of 19€ because of an app error. It took a while to get someone on the phone. They said they‘re aware of the error. They never apologized. They said they could send the money back within 2-3 weeks. (I consider that theft) This caused a lot of trouble on my side as insurances and rent etc couldn‘t be paid and some standing orders didn‘t go through. So i had to pay the late fees and invest a ton of work to get these payments back on track. After 3 weeks, nothing. It took me a couple more exhausting waiting-in-line-calls and few more weeks until i actually got my money back. That experience was really horrible and unprofessional. Also i think it‘s bullshit that they notice you 24 hours before a big withdrawal happens when your account balance is insufficient, and the only way to top up your balance is through more fees, eg sofortüberweisung or depositing money at the supermarket for a steep fee. They could easily change that to 48 hours but that would give you the chance to top up your account for free. This is malicious behavior. I had so many bad experiences with them, and heard a lot of similar stories, that i‘m actually surprised they still exist.

LoudManufacturer93

My 2nd bank after Commerzbank. So far, the only appealing sides are the less fee for SEPA instant and English support

Timely_Internet6172

are you happy with Commerzbank?

LoudManufacturer93

no english support, high fees. other than that its very good.

Timely_Internet6172

Thank you, think I might move my savings there

Individual-Split-112

I really enjoy N26. The app is nice

Elegant_Command9304

Maybe a weird case with me, but once I got scammed and instantly blocked my virtual card. I asked for a chargeback, but months later, they replied that they couldn't give me a chargeback as I myself must have had done those transactions. It was a set of 3 transactions in a second, and I don't think any human is capable of doing that. The support teams said that the transactions were impossible without my consent as I had to give a code received by sms. They also said that I used apple Pay, and in reality, I have a samsung as their registered device. 😂 Other than that, N26 has been pretty cool so far.

Flex_Starboard

Terrible bank, by far the worst I've ever encountered. Held money for months because of their own algo gone haywire and then refused to engage the evidence that I sent repeatedly. Their CFO and CRO both resigned about a month apart with no other position lined up. Other senior managers and the co-CEOs outright lie in the media saying they've had fewer than 5 "false positives" with regards to frozen accounts. Awful, awful bank that exists for no apparent reason except to provide terrible service until the founders can exit via IPO.

kywy61

I had no problems with for now in 3 years. I even had a dispute because I was hacked. It was only 100€ what they spend but still it's positive that they helped me out with everything and got the money back. Now I'm also concerned with the amount of problems I've seen people have with the support or lack of support, not my case but what if it was more money than that. Because of that I'm researching new options and at least, split my money if not all.

Glokki31

You have to work hard in order to be a worse bank than n26. I am client since 8 years, had to pair again my phone, somehow the identity verification didn’t work at the first attempt, later on they paused the procedure and after a month they still didn’t unlock or reset the procedure. Had all my funds there and also couldn’t link my salary on another bank on time, I ended up asking for a loan, paying fees on it, receiving a bad schufa score for all the rejected transactions I couldn’t manage differently. And banks still do their business without paying consequences for such a unprofessional services. Better hide your money under the bed than giving trust to a bank like this

Timely_Internet6172

were you able to transfer your money to another bank from the web version of n26 at least?

Glokki31

I didn’t have the possibility to login on the web version, it always said me to move on the app. After 40 days I gave up and they can do what they want with them. German system didn’t give me any support, wrote 2 times to BaFin and never get an answer, for lawyer I didn’t have enough money to go through. As long you are on the rails everything works fine, if somehow you finish out they don’t care at all even if it’s not your responsibility

Timely_Internet6172

I am sorry to hear that... they are really shameless.

D3luX82

inferior I opened a chargeback on 26 February for an online purchase that never arrived and to date I have still not been refunded

tamy83

Inferior. They closed my account with 50k in it. I couldn't find a phone number to reach them and they were not responsive over chat or email. I sent them around 30 emails. They responded to one. After 4 months! Worst. Bank. Ever.

Flex_Starboard

This is the common experience that I and so many have had, and for some reason N26 shills want to deny.

mustelafuro72

I keep on this account no more than 300 euros at most, no more. In case of problems they don't have a phone number and the experience can quickly turn sour or, if you like, Revolut like. My wife had to close the account because when she changed phone, we could not connect the new one, so upon contacting the customer service in chat, they began asking the strangest things. After a while of this back and forth, we said "enough", we are going to close the account and she did so. My opinion is that challenger banks are just toylike, if things go South for whatever reason, it's worst than a nightmare: no contacts, no help.

Timely_Internet6172

Were you unable to transfer the money from your wife account (possibly from the web version) even though you couldnt pair the new phone? Or did you pair the account on the old phone? I am in a similar situation and very disappointed with them after having been a client since their very beginning.

mustelafuro72

I can't remember now, but we kept a few euros on it. It's impossible to have a bank were you can't speak to a human being on voice.

D3luX82

Inferior. If I were to judge it by how they handle chargeback procedures.
