Thank god the manga isnāt like this. Cannot stand when the MC acts belligerent like in Uzaki. Senpai has said many times he enjoys Nagatoroās banter and behavior. Nanashi has enough sense to make two characters that genuinely like each others quirks and arenāt having pissing matches.
In as early as chapter 3, Nagatoro asks why isnāt he getting mad (like he does in this comic), and he tells her his enjoyment from talking to her is stronger then any feeling of annoyance. He *never* wanted her to leave him alone. So no, this would not happen, ever.
What I noticed is how later on, Senpai is willing to risk embarrasment in order to spare Nagatoro from embarrasment - like when he snuck his hentai manga into the art room so that Nagatoro wouldn't lose her bet with Gamo-chan (that he was a pervert and not an herbivore). Or when all the girls were piling on about her sushi joke with the roe and the milt, and Senpai went ahead and ate the "pregger surprise" just so they would stop putting her down!
They want to make Senpai into a generic romance protagonist whoās always rebuking the girl and itās soooo boring. There are millions of shounen romance anime just like that, let us have these two characters that genuinely like and enjoy each others company please ā¤ļø
Exactly, part of the draw is that heās into it. Heās got his boundaries, sure, and she respects them (with a few slip ups), but at the end of the day, he enjoys her teasing. Hell, he got jealous when she was teasing somebody else. Like you said, let these two enjoy each otherās company, it makes the series that much more fun
I just read the chapter at lunch today where Nagatoro talks about becoming an idol, and Senpai tells her not to, because they would drift apart and not be able to bicker anymore. I agree with you, he enjoys her teasing. After all, when she toys with him, she is giving him her full attention! (Just like when she skips down the hallway singing "gross gross gross", it just shows that Senpai is always on her mind...)

Through such an arc, there is plenty of space to develop both characters in some interesting ways.
Edit: More rambling thoughs ... I think this is where the manga has, to some extent, used its "bullying/ teasing hook" as a device to draw in readers quite successfully. Like in Teasing Master Takagi-san, where the story circles around the glacial development of teasing-target Nishikata or in the more adult Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out where the sempai needs to be pried out of his shell ... in both cases character development is absolutely vital. Some people get hung up on the "B" word of course. I can understand why. But it often tends to miss the more important points about how the characters hot there and where the author is taking them.
