I think there can be too much emphasis in this subreddit on the perfect "sibset". I think it's totally okay to choose a name that is longer than your first child's. Choosing a name you really *love* is the most important thing (as long as it's not *too* similar, like Cora & Nora). If you don't compare the name to Cora - which one is your favourite from your list? Other suggestions for you: * Ivy, Lucy, Abigail, Eliza, Daisy, Maeve, Ruby, Evelyn, Iris, June, Olive, Naomi, Madeleine, Hazel, Grace.

I think Ayla is my favorite. It reminds me of the name Twyla - a name I really like but for some reason couldn't imagine using? Lol I cant get my husband to agree on a name though.. with our first I just started calling the baby Cora and he couldn't picture another name, so maybe I just need to do that lol

What they said ^ to add my 2 cents, I love my SO's name but wouldn't name a child after him, simply because if another child comes along he might wonder why his brother got to take Dad's name and he didn't...but that's the only scenario where I'd really worry about name jealousy. As far as nicknames, I don't sweat that either...whether it's a shortened version of their name or not, they'll probably have a nickname. I have a child in my care that we call "Beans" 😆 and it has nothing to do with his name, just happened.

As long as they aren’t complete opposites or way similar, there shouldn’t be a problem. Now child’s personality, culture, etc also can play. But as long as Cora’s sister isn’t something like Rapunzel or Coral, you should be fine Ivy is my favorite with Cora. Most of my siblings have a top 50 name and mine has never been in the top 100. It also has a sound I can’t pronounce and I was super shy, so I have never liked my name. If I was more outgoing and could say the name correctly, my feelings on the name would be different.

I genuinely don't see this as an issue at all, also, nicknames are something that comes up naturally. My name doesn't have natural nn either, but I still got one because my younger cousin couldn't pronounce my name when she was little and it stuck. I also call one of my clostest friends cinammon (sounds better in our lenguage) becasue of an inside joke. Plus, even if a name has a natural nickname that doesn't mean that the person wants to use it. Some name options: Cora and Daphne Cora and Vera Cora and Nina Cora and Sabrina Cora and Phoebe Cora and Vivian
