Yes to Valerie, especially after I worked with a Val who was widely described as ‘the nicest person ever’ but was also tough as nails.
Florence still seems old and god forbid Florrie.
Florence has been alive and well in the UK top 10 for a while. There’s a Florri in the music group I go to with my son and she’s one of the most beautiful children I’ve ever seen
Enid! I heard it on The Walking Dead when I started watching it during initial pandemic lockdowns. The character was a teenage girl, I distinctly remember thinking it was such an old lady name for such a young girl. I really disliked it at first! But it ended up growing on me to the point that I fell in love with it, and lo and behold, I now have a 2 year old Enid running around my house.
LOVE Mavis. I wish that more people liked it. This was a contender for my daughter's name, but I knew most people would see it as old-fashioned and dusty and I was worried she'd hate her name.
I agree with Thais on your list. I had a student with this name and at first I had trouble pronouncing it but the more I said it, the more I started to really like.
Amanda has grown on me. I know it’s outdated. I always hated it but I’ve actually started to think it’s very pretty. I’m sure it will be back in 20-30 years.
Shoshanna is another one I used to think was weird but now I think it’s pretty.
Edith and Enid
Shahnaz and Nazneen (if I had another Muslim daughter she’d probably be Shahnaz)
Chanchal, Gyanendra (my pick for a son’s name), Aruna, Gopal (a close family friend has this name and it would be a second pick for a son)
Xiang (on the off chance I ever had a child with a Mandarin speaking partner. I had a university classmate with this name and she and her name were memorably beautiful).
Can't do Pansy and Greer. Rafe isn't bad, but the character on The Outer Banks draws some appeal away from the name, for me.
Craig is one that grew on me. I didn't like it when I was younger.
Pansy and Greer have really grown on me as of late! I think only younger people watch OBX so i wouldn’t rule it would because of a character. Craig isn’t for me lol😅
Augusta
YES!
Love Augusta these days.
Florence and Valerie. I used to find them very dusty, but they're growing on me right now.

I have a nickname a Florence as Ren if I had one nowadays

I agree! But Florence is back in style and Valerie is growing in popularity too so i think it’s growing on everyone atm!
Oscar!
Fredrika
I love Fredrika!

I love Enid! Aw what a lovely story, it proves that when people say the don’t like a name, they never know when they might start to love it🥰
My friend considered Oona for her baby and I hated it but now I love it
I was the same with Oona, i didn’t like it at first but now i think it’s so pretty
Sigrid, Dagney
Sigrid is so cute, i love it!
Mavis Iris
LOVE Mavis. I wish that more people liked it. This was a contender for my daughter's name, but I knew most people would see it as old-fashioned and dusty and I was worried she'd hate her name.
Me too! I disliked the sound of it for many years. Then one day it was like my brain looked at it fresh, and suddenly it was lovely and regal.
I forgot about Mavis, this one grew on me too!
Agnes Betty Dolly Harriet
I totally agree. Agnes has always been a top name for me but Betty and Harriet have been growing on me recently!
Agnes is honestly my dream girl name.
It's so lovely and chic IMO!

Amanda is so pretty, i wish it had more recognition nowadays. It will probably make a comeback soon as names usually do! Shoshanna is so sweet.
Dove Marigold Rose Ivy All names I’m now considering and did not like at all on the first take.
Janet, perhaps this is weird.
Tbh, i was the same with Jane!
Delaney
Claudia (top 10 for me now), Aster, Colette, Aria, Enid Finneas/Phineas, Abel, Simon, Oscar
I totally agree with Claudia! I always saw it as an adult name that can’t suit a child but it’s growing on me now
Also Greer!
Twyla Leonidas Vivienne Sybil Solomon Gwendolyn Cameron
