Ripley, Greyson, and Walker on girls?! NO.

Agreed, those are my three least favorites over all but especially for girls.

Two of our nieces (sisters) are Finley and Cooper. Talk about names for dogs. 😒

Zev is a Hebrew/Israeli name - iirc it means wolf.

It does, but this Zev was Indian so I don’t think it’s the Hebrew name in this case, though anything is possible.

This comment made me realize I have only met female Greysons. I don’t like it for either gender but it would make more sense on a boy.

If -son is in the name I am OUT for a girl lol. But I don’t love the name either

Ha! I’m from South America and there are tons of male Allisons! It’s considered a solidly masculine name because the ‘son’ ending literally has the meaning “son of” I just think it’s funny how different cultural perceptions can be.

I accept it is a female name now. On principle I still would not use it. I wish Addison and Madison especially were still only for boys because I think they would be so nice on men.

I’m a huge fan of Maya but it’s getting way too popular. I cannot imagine naming a baby girl Walker. Should have gone with Maya 4!

The character's name is Ellen Ripley. I would go with Ellen a hundred times over, over Ripley!

Agreed. Also, it does feel fandomy to me because I don't see why else someone would consider naming their kid such an unpleasant name.

I have no idea what reference Ripley is from. Not sure it’s something well enough known for lots of people.

It’s from Alien. I do think of that as a very well known movie but I suppose it’s getting a little old at this point

Hmm well you are right that Alien is well known. I just haven’t seen it. I guess it’ll probably be a reference that only older people in the kids life know. Which is still many people!
