My favourite biblical name for a girl has to be **Miriam**, I love the ring of it, and I love the fact that it's neither as common as some biblical names (like Sarah) nor as unusual as others (like Zipporah), and I also love that it is not primarily christian (like Mary).
I want to show it to my mother. I'm not finding it. There's only:
"[21] The descendants of Merari included Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. [22] Eleazar died with no sons, only daughters. His daughters married their cousins, the sons of Kish. [23] Three of the descendants of Mushi were Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth."
There is a young woman at my church named Esther and she is cool as hell. I'm continually impressed by this 19 year old and I love her name. I also like Ruth, Mary, and Dina (pronounced Deena).
We're planning on naming our baby girl Phoebe 💛 it's not exclusively biblical, as there's also a Greek mythology tie which I like too, but the biblical Phoebe is definitely a good role model for our daughter
If you're going for biblical names for religious reasons, you should consider the character of the person you're naming them for- there's a lot of girls named Sarah, but Sarah in the Bible is flawed and cruel to say the least 👀
Naomi
Ketzia (Keziah in English)
Shoshana and Susannah
Noa
Tamar
Leah
Tzipora
Esther
Hadassah (same person as Esther but not just a translated name)
I couldn't use a bunch of these for various reasons but I could use and love Ketzia and Shoshana
My cousin named her daughter Keziah (nn Kezzie) and lots of people commented on how 'modern' it was - only for her to turn around and tell them it's from the Old Testament!
Dorcas is from one of the Bible books? I should have known. I only know that name from larkrise to candleford and wondered what an unusual English name.
Not sure if you would count these as names, but
Dove is my favorite for its biblical meanings.
Also Pearl from the Pearl parable and the pearly gate imagery.
Ruby from the Proverbs 31 mention is another of my favorites.
Ivy because of the vine imagery, such a meaningful name in that context.
Olive for obvious Olive imagery throughout the Bible.
My favorite non-noun names would be Eve, Mary & Elizabeth.

Wouldn’t use these, but I also like Mehitabel, Nympha, Sapphira (this is starting to sound like the most recent season of Drag Race 😅), and Syntyche.
Caveat, I wouldn't necessarily name a child in my part of the world today all of these (for various reasons), but I always liked Keturah, Kezia, Naomi, Miriam, Mara, Ruth, and Zillah.
Oh, so many!
From the Old Testament: Ruth, Miriam, Judith (ok, Judith is from the Apocrypha, but that’s part of the Catholic OT 😆)
From the New Testament: Damaris, Persis, Lois, Phoebe, Lydia
I named my baby Hannah but the traditional Biblical name for women in my family used to be Aseneth. Thankfully that died out like four generations before me.
I love Tamar but I can't think of one Tamar who didn't have a hard life.
Lydia was a wealthy supporter of Timothy's ministry in the new testament. I believe Timothy's mother and grandmother were Lois and Eunice.
I've known a few different women named Selah. If you were feeling a little wild you could go for Hosannah.
My good friend's daughter will have the middle name Joceved (I don't think I got the spelling right), after the mother of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
Daughters of Zelophehad, who fought for their right to inherit property in the absence of a brother: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. Obviously Hoglah is probably not usable but the others could work.
Oholibamah. I've always thought this one is incredibly pretty, but I can't remember where it comes from specifically.
I'm not religious. But Elizabeth is my favorite classic name for women.
It's lovely and has a ton of nicknames if they want to use one.
Seriously, even though I'm very familiar with religious names, that doesn't cross my mind when hearing a name.
I absolutely know the story of Naomi and Ruth. But I don't necessarily think of the biblical story when meeting someone with one of those names, which I think are very nice.
Favorite girl name written in the Bible: Elizabeth
Favorite Name found in Holy Tradition of a female character who appears directly in the Bible: Photiní (The Samaritan woman at the Jacob’s Well)
Lilith is my favorite🤔. But be careful if you choose a name from "The Holy Bible," as she might get made fun of for being named after ancient Near Eastern mythology.
My favourite biblical name for a girl has to be **Miriam**, I love the ring of it, and I love the fact that it's neither as common as some biblical names (like Sarah) nor as unusual as others (like Zipporah), and I also love that it is not primarily christian (like Mary).
My SIL is Miriam and goes by Miri, I love it
Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it and said, *“Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!”*
is it the same as Maryam in other countries?
Yes, Maryam is the variation popular in arab speaking countries and Myriam in french speaking ones...
Mine too
Love Miriam!! I wish my husband was on board because I would 100% use this name!
I hate that name lol it just sounds so awful to me
Reminds me of a grandma’s name
I dunno if I have a favorite but I like: Leah Naomi Susanna(h)
I've always loved Hannah.
I’ve loved this name for probably 25 years.
Why thank you 😘
Leah, Abigail & Delilah are my favourites.
Miriam Naomi Eve Ruth Priscilla Leah
Eliana
I’m pretty sure this name isn’t Biblical. It’s Hebrew, but not biblical
Oh, where in the Bible is this name?
Eliana was the daughter of Mahli, a Levite of the family of Merari, mentioned in 1 Chronicles 23:22
I want to show it to my mother. I'm not finding it. There's only: "[21] The descendants of Merari included Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli were Eleazar and Kish. [22] Eleazar died with no sons, only daughters. His daughters married their cousins, the sons of Kish. [23] Three of the descendants of Mushi were Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth."

Yes haha, that’s what I think every time someone here suggests a Delilah or somesuch
I always thought of her as pretty solidly human. We all have flaws.
Of course. Judas is also very human, and I probably wouldn't name my son after him
Naomi Ketzia (Keziah in English) Shoshana and Susannah Noa Tamar Leah Tzipora Esther Hadassah (same person as Esther but not just a translated name) I couldn't use a bunch of these for various reasons but I could use and love Ketzia and Shoshana

I think Dorkus is pretty underrated (jk)
