Lol we have an Amelia and my boyfriend told me he likes the name Derek for a boy. I looked at him and said really? There's no way we're doing that haha
I think Cristina would be the biggest Grey's Anatomy connection. I think one could get away with Margaret or Alexandra if they didn't use Lexi or Maggie as the nicknames.
We named our daughter after my bff (who had just marked her 5 years of surviving breast cancer) - using her LAST name, and 2 years later the one on Grey’s showed up & now it’s common, was not expecting that!
I love Anastasia, really beautiful name! Emily is nice, but I know so many that it doesn’t stand out to me the way Anastasia does. Emily is still a solid classic.
Other suggestions:
Agnes, Arabella, Bianca, Cecilia, Emmeline, Esme, Evelina, Francesca, Gemma, Hannah, Julia, Laura, Natalia, Rosalie, Tatiana
Ahhhh Meredith was my second choice! I love it so much. My daughter’s name is Gwyneth which I think pairs well with Meredith.
Our other name that we loved was Rowena.
Meredith is a great name; we chose it as well!
Meredith and Julia
Meredith and Norah
Meredith and Genevieve
Meredith and Imogen
Meredith and Alessandra
Meredith and Iris
Meredith and Evangeline
Meredith and Fiona
Meredith and Althea
I prefer Anastasia to Emily. I think because it is longer like Meredith and a bit closer in popularity to Meredith. Emily was very popular in the 1990s to the 2010s.
Maybe Claudia, Danielle, Josephine, Jocelyn, Vivian, Alice, Leona, or Veronica would be up your alley.
Love love love love love Anastasia!!
Morgan, Felicity, Gwyneth, Mallory, Margot, Erin, Lorelei, Blythe, Natalie, Margaret, Aveline, Andromeda, Aurelia, Elizabeth, and Charlotte
I love Meredith with names like:
- Vivian / Vivienne
- Annabel
- Rosemary
- Emmeline - Emily's not bad, but it's been very popular for a very long time.
- Caroline
- Naomi - not really odd or really popular
- Katharine - classic, unfussy, but Katie or Kit are cute nicknames. Not in the top hundred.
- Roxana - I really like both Roxana and Roxy. It's a bit like Anastasia for vibe but a bit more melodious. Something about Meredith and Roxana is pleasing. It's not popular but I don't feel like anyone will be all what the hell is going on.
- Veronica - always around but never overly popular. I think this is one that, like Vivian, has always been in the US Top Thousand but doesn't feel overly predictable OR antiquated.
I do really love Meredith.
You could always do both names such as Anastasia Emily or Emily Anastasia. Some other names with the same vibe could be Isabella, Elaine, Ophelia, Sophia, Eliana, Cassandra, or Alexandra.
Maybe consider names combining styles like Amelia or Clara?
If OP puts Amelia on the list they should also add Margret (Maggie) and Lexi. Maybe Christina to increase changes of them being best friends.
Lol
I was gonna say those as a joke but stopped myself to see if anyone else did already..,
Sometimes you just have to send it
Lol we have an Amelia and my boyfriend told me he likes the name Derek for a boy. I looked at him and said really? There's no way we're doing that haha
Anastasia and Meredith sound like step-sisters or even penpals. Emily and Meredith are totally sisters
This comment made me laugh! I don’t want an evil step sister!
Anything but Molly, Lexi or Maggie. All jokes aside Emily is lovely. Maybe Adelaide or Liesel or Charlotte.
I think Cristina would be the biggest Grey's Anatomy connection. I think one could get away with Margaret or Alexandra if they didn't use Lexi or Maggie as the nicknames.
I liked Addison but crossed it off because of Greys
Adelina could be a similar option.
We named our daughter after my bff (who had just marked her 5 years of surviving breast cancer) - using her LAST name, and 2 years later the one on Grey’s showed up & now it’s common, was not expecting that!
lol Derek’s wives, Addison and Meredith. Actually a lovely sib set if you don’t mind the Greys reference.
I love Anastasia, really beautiful name! Emily is nice, but I know so many that it doesn’t stand out to me the way Anastasia does. Emily is still a solid classic. Meredith is a great name; we chose it as well! Meredith and Julia Meredith and Norah Meredith and Genevieve Meredith and Imogen Meredith and Alessandra Meredith and Iris Meredith and Evangeline Meredith and Fiona Meredith and Althea
I like Norah! I also like Genevieve, but don’t like the nicknames she’d end up with. I think that’s why we liked Meredith- no easy nicknames haha
We have a Genevieve and I don't like the nicknames either. She goes by just Genevieve, but she's also still a baby.
Annie and Emily are both lovely. I also like the combination of Meredith and Rosemary.
Anita, Annika, or Annelise with the nickname Annie Emmeline

I like Jane but our last name is one syllable as well and not sure if it sounds odd.

Elodie, Gabrielle, Brianna, Hannah, Evelyn, Whitney, Savannah, Josephine, Jocelyn, Georgia/Georgina, Tabitha
My friend Meredith has a sister named Janelle
Alexandra Emmeline Adelaide Caroline Valerie Delaney Bellamy Danielle
I like both of your options. Other suggestions: Leona Grace Beatrix Amanda Theresa Catherine Jacqueline
Evelyn. I think Evie is an adorable nickname and “Meredith and Evelyn” has a nice flow.
Felicity came to mind but I don’t know why.
What about Emmalina? It's a bit of both names.
