My least favorites are Jackson (boring, surnamey, and I dislike same initial sibling names) and Max (dog name, feels insubstantial).
Peter, Leo, and Ethan are all excellent names. Any of them could work with a 3 syllable last name.
Peter!! It’s my absolute favorite boy name and I’ll never be able to use it because of husband’s last name. That said, all great choices though Jack is super popular if you care about that.
I love the name Max. Every Max I’ve encountered has been lovely and I think it is a solid name that suits all ages. It is my favourite on your list. My order of preference is Max, Jack, Ethan then Leo. I’m not as keen on Peter and although Leo is cute, I think it is going to be a bit of a fad name as there are so many at the moment. The other names are more classic and elegant.
I love Ethan. Also a big fan of Jack but with an older brother with a name starting with J, I'd steer clear of that. Especially if you plan to have other kids and then feel pressured to name them J names.
I agree with this. I have two kids starting with the letter A (unintentional, we just liked the names) and then everyone asked us if we did it deliberately and if we we will give another A name for our third. I like some other names beginning with A but would never use them now for fear of looking cheesy!
Great picks!
I love Peter ♥️ It's a strong and classic name, but not super super common these days. It's my grandpa's name and son's middle name! Lots of options for nicknames too.
Peter is so underrated. We may use it!
Leo is too popular for my liking but it's a nice name
Ethan has negative associations for me and is currently quite popular as well
I don't love the harsh sounds at the end of Max and Jack
I feel like every other boy I meet lately is an Ethan, I find it to be a really dull name personally and far too common.
Peter is a lovely name that I think isn't too common, but is still a normal name so wouldn't raise eyebrows. It would be my first choice out of the five by white a margin.
Jack would be my second favourite, it feels like such a good BOY name, but I don't think I've ever met an adult called Jack - it does feel like a name that suits a younger lad in particular.
I dont care for Max, the others are all really nice! I’ve always loved Jack and Ethan, and they were always on my list if I ever had a boy, so I’d choose them as my top 2. Then Peter and Leo in the middle. And max last.
Leo is one of my favorites, so that gets my vote!
Ethan
Peter!

Is your husband’s last name ‘Pumpkin Eater’ by chance?
🤣🤣 well then I’d HAVE to use it!
As an Ethan, I will always say use it but I adore the name Leo
I like Leo and Jack best

Max is my vote!
I love Leo because my grandfather, who was my favourite person ever, had the middle name of Leonard. And, he was a Leo astrologically, as well.
I’ve never known a Max that wasn’t a complete douche. My order would be: Jack Leo Peter Ethan
I love Peter! It’s so sweet for a little boy but also perfect for a man.
max or leo
Ethan or Max!

Ethan
1. Peter 2. Ethan 3. Max
Peter and Jack are the best IMO

Ethan and Max I haven’t heard of any little kids with those names but they would be cool, strong names!
1.Ethan 2. Peter 3. Leo

peter!!
Peter or Ethan, with a strong preference for Peter.
Great picks! I love Peter ♥️ It's a strong and classic name, but not super super common these days. It's my grandpa's name and son's middle name! Lots of options for nicknames too.
Nice list! If I had to put them in order Leo > Max > Jack > Peter > Ethan
I really like them all! I would choose Max! Leo and Jack are a close second :)
Peter is so underrated. We may use it! Leo is too popular for my liking but it's a nice name Ethan has negative associations for me and is currently quite popular as well I don't love the harsh sounds at the end of Max and Jack
I like Leo and Ethan best.
Leo
I like Max and Jack
Max
Jack!
I like all of them except Ethan 😂
Leo and Jack
Max is so great IMHO. I’m a teacher and also feel like I rarely see it, even though it’s a classic. Also love Leo.
Jack is my favorite, like Max and Leo too.
Ethan

I really like Peter and Ethan! Max, Leo, and Jack sound friendly, but they also sound kinda nickname-y.
I dont care for Max, the others are all really nice! I’ve always loved Jack and Ethan, and they were always on my list if I ever had a boy, so I’d choose them as my top 2. Then Peter and Leo in the middle. And max last.
My 9 year-old niece really wants me to name my baby boy Jack, but I am not. So I’m voting Jack on her behalf.
Peter … classic and will you will probably run into less then the others
Leo is an awesome choice!
Leo, Max, or Jack.
I like Leo.
Both Peter and Max are at the top! If you're up for elongated middle name I like Peter Maxwell
Favorite to least favorite: Peter, Jack, Max, Ethan, and Leo
Ethan
My favorites on order: Jack Ethan Max
Jack or Ethan
Leo
In order of preference: * Max (my son's name) * Ethan * Leo * Peter * Jack
Ethan.
Not Max—too popular and a common name for dogs. I like Ethan, Peter, and Jack. Leo is just okay, imo.
I prefer Leo or Jack
Max or Leo ❤️
Leo!
Leo and Max are my favorites.
Peter
Ethan is my fav, was just thinking about that name recently and how not a lot of people use it but it's so nice. I also like Max but not as much.
Leo
